Just always waste my time and I get passed around from one call center to another like a hot potato... digruntled!!!!
When it works, great! When it does'nt oh dear, many frustrating call to India and still not sorted!!!!!!!!!!! Sadly, most call centres are not Britain based and I have to say B.T. could be better than most. Why do we have to select "you want to leave us" before we get the service we expect?
I was with virgin media for 5 years on the 10mb internet and got 9.8mb download speeds but we moved house and i can't get virgin so had to go with bt for broadband and phone it took 10 days from getting homehub before internet was even working properly. They throttle download speeds at all times not just peak times i could download something with virgin media any day of the week and would always get 1mb dl speeds or faster yet with bt the fastest i have seen is 500kbps and most of the time never higher than 30kbps.AVOID BT AT ALL COSTS.
Tried to order from BT and they said it wasn't available in my area for 6 months, asked them to cancel they said okay. I then within minutes received a welcome to bt email and confirmation of direct debit. I called up and they refused to cancel until I spoke to a manager?! Not my fault you couldn't help me!
Well probably BT needs to step up a gear as there is a lot of comparison in the market place. We've got a different provider for our phone that is much cheaper than BT. The company that we are with has other products that are also cost effective.

YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS
IT AMUSES ME HOW YOU SPEND MILLIONS ON ADVERTISING WHEN I WAS WITH YOU ALL ALONG. ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS TREAT ME A LITTLE BETTER AND I WOULD OF STAYED!!!!
I paid for a 12 month subscription in advance in September. I paid again as BT had an accounting problem, BT refunding ny first payment. Even though I paid a year in advance, I am still being charged monthly too! BT won't even reply to my requests to sort it out. Very Very unhappy customer.
I have had Broadband from a number of suppliers but moved back to BT over a year ago.
Their speed may not be the fastest, I live in a very rural area, so it not great with any provider but I get better results than from other providers.
I have always found their service to be reliable, no dropouts and the equipment was very easy to setup.
The company does not provide fast or quick internet, it is riddled with "download limits" despite being advertised otherwise. It usually times out, and if you're using 2 laptops at once expect the internet to be extremely slow, or just not work at all.
The BT Home Hub is one of the biggest cons going - You can't replace this router as it has the modem built in, yet it's wireless range is pathetic. It also can't handle more than 3/4 connections at once, and needs rebooting at least twice daily. I had bought a Netgear Router for my old house and it was perfect, when I moved in here and found I was not allowed to use it because BT force you to use the Home Hub I felt so let down by the company. That's hard earned money on a BETTER router and I'm not allowed to use it because it's not riddled with BT Open Reach bullshit support. Rant over.
The prices they offer for simple wireless is digusting, my wife dealt with all the bills and passed away leaving me to pick them up- when I challenged by on the rediculous £27 a month for wireless they advised me- you can cancel but there's a charge.! Pure cheek and vile.!
Ever since I decided to use BT Business Broadband & Phone, I have regretted it every day.
To this day, years after ending my contract, I am still being hounded by a 3rd party debt collection agency for a bill that wasn't even mine!
I called BT about it who told me the account had been closed and there was no need to worry. Thanks for nothing.
this is the last time i ever use BT. £50 for a unlimited internet, £10 from 5 other companys1 and the bt one is caped if you try to download to much stuff it just drops off after 10 gig a month!
dishounest company and i wish they would emigrate to spain were they are still likes by the customers!
got the recomended NAS only to find it crashed and i have 500 gig of ebooks i need for collage locked on it and cant get them off as it tells me i need to format the harddrive before i can use it, thanks BT i will not trust your company again! also tryed to charge me £150 to end a contract!what they gona do in june when my phone is out but internet has 6 months to run!
BT would be ok if the prices were competitive but they are not and so all you are paying for is service. Except the service is dire... Indian call centres, a website that never gives you the answer you need and even though its another Bt company who look after the lines, BT customers have to wait just the same as all the people who are with the cheaper companies.
Existing cheap contract cut short by 3 weeks despite assurance that it would not. Protested all the way to top of Customer Service but refused to honour. Have complained to Ombudsman. Now they have overcharged me by £2 but will not even acknowledge email/etter so waiting 8 weeks then another complaint to Ombudsman. BT service is just ATTROCIOUS!!
Their telephone PC help line is the best example of apalling customer service and organisation.
If you call the help line, have a flask of tea and a packed lunch ready as you will be on the phone waiting and being passed around the BT staff for hours.
We swapped to BT for phone and broadband last year, everything was fine at first, until our printer packed up, so we got a new Kodak one, this was back in March last year, we set it up on the WIFI, it worked OK the first couple of times then after that it wouldn't print, this was due to the WIFI not detecting the printer, even though it was all set up correctly, and had worked fine at first, so we contacted Kodak, they said it should be OK, and did an online check of the printer, via our laptops, we have a HP and Sony.
Kodak said the printer was working fine and was set up correctly, so we contacted BT, after days of booking calls with their engineers, and them ringing us and taking us through all sorts of procedures, the WIFI still didn't recognise the printer, so we had to purchase a long USB lead and plug that into the printer and which ever laptop we were using at the time that needed to print, BT did offer to send out an engineer, but at a cost of £100, you must be joking, they are getting £17 a month, and the service is rubbish, it is forever running slow, or stopping, we get messages on a daily basis of "unable to access the internet at this time" and "Internet has stopped working", we never had this with Talk Talk, and it cost us a fraction of the cost we are paying for BT, I suggested BT to my Partner, as it is a known and trusted brand, but after this when the contract runs out we will not be renewing it, Plusnet looks a good deal, or the other one we are looking at is Sky, we would like Virgin, but there arn't any cable facilities in our area yet.
My advice, DON'T BOTHER WITH BT, its not worth it.
BT is very expensive and virtually has a non-existant customer services dept. It would help if there were NOT a communication problem within the company...
Notified them of a house move three weeks ahead to move my phone and broadband. Over a period of a week I spent 7.5 hours on the phone to them, had over 20 emails from them, first confirming the order then cancelling it each time. Got sent from pillar to post to so many different call centres and just wasted so much time. Went with Sky in the end, all sorted in ten minutes and a personal visit from the engineer to check that all was working OK.
I would not recommend BT to anybody after my recent experience.
These guys are hopeless. Have been cold called twice about joining BT broadband, on both occassions I have answered loads of questions before I could join. Then on both occassions I heard nothing afterwards, no attempt to connect. They rang a third time to sign me up again, sadly I didnt give them the opportunity to win my business again.
contact says one price, but its always been triebled and i dont use phone, they say its for payong ahead on contract. and u cant get out of contact its concrete to switch unless u pay thousands.
I have never had the worst dealings with a company in my entire life! BT has been grossly incompetent in trying to deal with technical issues with a Broadband connection, with a technical team based overseas that had no idea of how to fix things but would promise you the earth! The service itself was totally unreliable and costly compared with other telephone and broadband providers... and they like to lock you into a 18 months contract! Don't do it!! Our ordeal went on weeks and then BT had the bare-faced cheek to offer a pithy £2.99 in compensation. So, if you like to be onto their "care" team for hours at a time, get nowhere, suffer a poor and expensive service, and get insulted with the compensation you are offered, then BT is the best choice for you! My advice, stay well clear!
I have been with BT for many years and although I had little problems with them, I find that it becomes more trouble when you are calling them. You really need to be patient, and I am not that patient, as I hate to go through telephone systems, hence my 3 stars!
It feels good to be able to express ourselves sometimes!
Nevertheless, their products are generally quality !
Cant believe i had to pay £135 to get a line connected, i could have done it myself its not difficult.
Could do a lot better with the online moving house section. Having just moved house i wanted to talk to someone about my previous property. when i say someone i dont mean an increasingly annoying automated system that does not give you the option you want and insists you `choose one of the four options` then cuts you off when you take 10 seconds to guess which of these is nearest to what you actually want. Must do better BT.
Was with them for a year - feels like longer, especially as they are still charging me. They also insisted I pay on the 29th of the month, possibly the stupidest billing date I've ever heard of.
I cancelled my broadband in January. They cut me off early - costing me a day's wages - and have had the gall to keep charging me. They have also switched me to an expensive call package I would never have agreed to. I tried talking to their online help assistant, who said she couldn't help. Which means I'll have to call their cancellations line, which took me over an hour last time, because the lady couldn't understand a word I was saying. And I have a neutral accent.
Stay the hell away from this thieving, pathetic excuse for a company.
Having been a BT employee for 25 years I was loyal but had issues when moving house that took forever to sort. Useles Indian call centres and a lot of staff who cannot sort out your problem and dont care. I have my service from SKY now.
Having used BT for many years for my telephone and internet connections, All I can say is "I trust them". There may be others cheaper, or with more gimmicks, but I find BT top of the league when it comes to service and advice. I can't see us going anywhere else in the near future.
BT is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. Like almost all of the comments below - I too feel ripped off. My broadband signal fails 95% of the time I use it. My phone line was down for two weeks and I when I asked for a credit on my bill - typical with everytime I call their "customer service" line I reach a call center in India. After I explained my case I was told, "Why do you feel you deserve a credit on your bill." RUBBISH!!! Stay away from this company.
Even though they have been informed twice before they insist on sending me two letters each month informing me that my email address is incorrect but still manage to send my ebilling notification to the correct address. This is despite their call centres informing me that it is all noted and sorted out and will not happen again. With this level of efficiency if another provider cables up my area I would be very tempted to move my communications package.
I recently had a baby so had bn off on maternity leave. I had started to use the phone in the day and noticed our bills increase so I phoned bt cservices up and asked if I could be switched to free daytime calls. Gr8 so I started using the phone in the day spending quite a lot of time catching up with ppl. So wen our quarterly bill comes through I notice its quite high. By Cservices told me it was still part of the old price plan and my next bill will be day time calls ahhhhh right ok. So I make calls as i had the baby etc and wen my next bill comes through its sky high. Wen u phoned I spoke to a foreign call centre and gave up as I couldn't understand. Next quater bill even more. After speaking to a friend age tells me must dial 5 to switch lines as I have broadband with them. Cheers bt u conning so and so's. Contract up next month and then its bye bye but who is best to go to as I'm not staying with these jokers
It took over 160 emails to try and stop calls from India - failed so gave them up
Use BT for phone, internet. Totally reliable, upgrades are easy. I'm prepared to pay the extra for zero hassle
I had a very bad experiece with BT on getting BT broadband. First the women who sold it stated it was 'unlimited downloads' which I felt more confident about, not as I download pirate films but because I repair and upgrade computers for a living which usually requiires lots of downloads, mostly Microsoft. I also had bother getting the reduced price install on the phone line which they advertied and then tried to charge me for. BT broadband mis sold the service to me but they would never admit it, the customer service was really bad. They charged me over £100 per month for the excess downloads, next door did have access to my wireless but if the contract had been honoured by BT they would have been calling me to say there is excess use, not just sending me massive bills, which went out via direct debit and have never been refunded, over 2 months the cost was almost £300. The firm has tried to get me to go back to them and I have told them where to go.
