After researching a new laptop, I decided to order an ASUS N-series laptop. When the product arrived, I was very disappointed to find it lacked the backlit keyboard advertised on the official ASUS website; one of the features that had convinced me to buy ASUS over their competators. (see the promotional video at http://ie.asus.com/Notebooks/Multimedia_Entertainment/N56VM/)
Since contacting Simply Asus i have been told that the laptop was not advertised as such on their website, but when it appears a backlight comes as standard from ASUS, I don't expect customers to have to ask which features are missing.
I'm very disappointed to find such a simple addition has been removed from this model with no notification, the keyboard shortcut even informs me the backlight is changing so it must come as standard, but one simply hasn't been installed - whether this is cutting corners on design or simply a cheaper model, some indication should have been given that features had been removed - a case of false advertising it would seem.
Other than that, great laptop, and i cannot fault any other element of it's design or construction. However, when you spend the best part of £1000 on a laptop, you expect it to come as advertised.
