Like others who have used the services of this site, I had placed an order for an item that was shown to be currently in stock. 14 days later and the item had still not been dispatched despite it being shown as in stock.
I emailed customer service only to be given a generic response of my order has been marked as expedited delivery service. Next day the order vanished from the account page and was never to be seen again. I contacted customer support and upon receiving more generic responses I stated I would be forced to cancel the order if I could not get a firm estimation on when the item will be dispatched. I then got a further email where they just cancelled my order and told me that a refund will given in a few days.
I now hope that I do not have to go through the same issue's that some have gone through in order to receive a full refund. I would not recommend purchasing from them as they are either purposely marking products as in stock when they aren't or they are just conning people out of money and not dispatching the goods.
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM simplyelectronics.net
I ordered and payment was taken from my credit card two days later. The simplyelectronics.net website displayed the item as in stock. The 7-14 delivery time passed. I chased up via the website forms and got a reply
"We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. With regards to your order, we anticipate dispatch within late this week. Our customer service team will send you an email once the order has been dispatched. This will be accompanied with the courier details and tracking number."
This did not happen, I called the customer services UK telephone number and was told there was a 44 minute wait in the queue. I then logged on to the website and my order had disappeared from 'outstanding orders' and 'order history'. I tried to report this using their online forms and got an error message. I tried telephoning their UK customer services number again and got a 'we're having technical problems with our phone lines please try again later' message. I have demanded a cancellation and refund and have reported simplyelectronics.net to UK trading standards for breach of contract. I am also trying to recover the money via VISA.
My impression is that this company is fraudulently claiming it has items in stock and is less than forthcoming with responses and refunds :(

Unfortunately it seems I have been conned like many others on here into think they are a reputable company. I made the mistake of ordering 2x Asus tablets back on the 19th November, said they were in stock. 14 days later, nothing has even shipped, I've been upgraded to "priority dispatch" and probably some other nonsense, and they're full of apology, but nothing ships, and nor do they say when it will. Please read all of the threads on here, it seems their business model is very deliberate and misleading - they just want your cash, and have basically no intention of sending anything. I note they are ranked on google as priority shopping destination for electronic goods. This is likely paid - for listing, and I'm contacting google too, so to make them aware of what these liars get up to. They haven't bothered to offer a refund, but I understand that's a massive hassle by the below too. Please everybody, they may appear to be cheaper, but just ask yourself WHY? - do not make the same mistake I have.

Ordered an Apple Ipad end of September which was needed by 25th October for a gift. Was assured the item would arrive within 7-14 days. It is very obvious that they advertise items as in stock when they are not. After numerous emails and telephone calls it was apparent that the item was not going to arrive on time and I had to cancel the order. It then took EIGHT weeks and again countless emails and phone calls to get the refund put on my credit card. Having looked at various review websites since it is obvious that hundreds of people have experienced the same problems as me. My refund was finally paid when I contacted Trading Standards. They had £300 of my money for nearly three months without supplying anything.
I had to query why I had not received the Lens ordered after 9 days. First reply was very much about their problems about keeping up with demand. After I mailed again the lens was dispatched immediatly using express delivery. I thought that this was a good way to put matters right for the customer. Packaging and price are really very good so despite poor early service they really came up trumps.
Felt the transaction went really smoothly, item arrived very well packed and fairly quickly. I haven't opened the item as it is sealed and for a gift so fingers crossed all is good with that and i don't have to test the returns policy!!! Based on this experience i would use again
What an unmitigated (and very expensive) disaster. I bought an HTC One smart phone from them. During the purchase, it was never made apparent that they are based in Hong Kong - I should have done more digging..
The handset was late by over two weeks and when I switched it on, it was a handset configured for the Hong Kong market. Okay, I could change the system language from Chinese, but English UK was not an offered language, the nearest was English US, which isn't acceptable. Plus, even when I'd changed the system language, all the inbuilt apps such as messaging were defaulted to Chinese, so English (US) would always be an additional language. I could have gone through the phone and changed things, but for £430 I don't want to do that, I want something made for the UK market.
So, I went to send it back, the Royal Mail won't touch it - lithium batteries are prohibited items for couriering to HK. (Made me wonder whether Simply Electronics hadn't 'smuggled' it to me in the first place.)
So I sourced alternate couriers, one would take it, but needed a contact name and number. I emailed and phoned simply electronics repeatedly and the flatly refused to provide this, so I am unable to send it back. I think they are just trying to burn the 30 day return period so I am stuck with it.
Never, and I mean NEVER EVER, use these people. Bad products, appalling customer service. Their business deserves to fold.

I WEEK BEFORE THAT ,CUSTOMER SERVICE IN IRELAND TOLD ME ,MY CONSIGNMENT IS ON THE WAY TO U.K.....(customer service not trustworthy)do not expect to get u r item in 7 -14 days. absolutely WASTE OF TIME...POOR SERVICE....POOR SHIPPING....Thank god ...got the money back...Never again....bye
I can give 3 stars only for... extremely quick refund! ordered a camera from them on 14th October, with the promise of 7-14 working days delivery. Was patiently waiting for more than a week, seeing the order status changing trough "order officially accepted.." "order processing..", "order awaiting some confirmation..", "order ready for dispatch.." etc., until finally decided to check reviews on the company and got terrified... I started to email them asking for the statuses, they kept responding that order will be dispatched "at the soonest available opportunity",but there were still no signs of progress. Finally after more than 2 weeks, order status changed to BACKLOG and then to priority! they were telling me about the delay in process due to huge demand and current processes, and they couldn't even give me an estimated date when the order would be dispatched, except the "soonest available opportunity"! After that, I decided to go with cancellation and prepared myself for even longer struggling to get my money back, after reading all the reviews.. but, I couldn't believe my eyes, when on the next working day after cancellation I got an email from Paypal, saying refund was received from SimplyElectronics!! Two days later, money was in my account.. only for this, I can give 3 STARS to this company, but would not risk to order anything from them again.. still not sure if I was just very lucky, or the other people struggling with the refunds are just very unlucky..? Good luck everyone!
Unfortunately we placed an order with this company for some headphones for a Christmas present for our son. They emailed back to advise that they could not supply and would refund. Have been waiting for my refund ever since, and our son will be short of one Christmas present as we can not afford to purchase this head set from another company until we get our refund. Unable to contact, cannot reach by phone get same email response back.
Do not use this company!! which I had read some of the other dreadful reviews this company has.

I bought something from them a few years ago and the transaction went great. Now I appear to have the same issue as everybody else. Took immediate payment and then nothing. When chased give excuse about high demand. This on a Samsung S3 which you can buy off the shelf in any store in the UK
I have approached Skrill who manage the financial transaction but they are unresponsive. I have asked to cancel the order. I will wait a few days then demand refund and in no response report to Hong Kong police.
GOOGLE have something to answer for as they will be partly responsible for ruining a lot of peoples Christmas. I will see if they respond to concerns being expressed here.
Commande d'un objectif canon, jamais arrivé bien que disponible en stock sur le site, une serie de reponses automatiques, jamais remboursé depuis le 18 aout (4 mois !!!) toujours la meme réponse : Refund on Priority Rank
Apologies for the inconvenience. Your refund is on priority rank and is being treated with precedence. We will contact you once the refund is finalized.
ILS NE SONT PAS HONNÊTES !
THEY AREN'T VERY HONEST.
I ordered the Canon G1X at the cheapest price on the web, I was kept informed about the delivery all the way and received my camera well packed and reliably delivered by the tracked delivery company who notified me when the item would be delivered within a 1 hour time slot. Excellent service and would buy from them again.
Like so many I was taken in by Simply Electronics' very slick web site. I bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
My first concern was pretty much straightaway as I received no confirmation email of my purchase [except from Skrill to say my payment had been authorised!]. I then looked at my account page on the web site to see that my order was 'on hold, please contact us'. I emailed and had a very prompt reply saying they needed to confirm my delivery address. I did so. Nothing. Subsequent emails always got a prompt response but usually gave a stock reply to a question I hadn't asked.
Now here's the patience bit.. I phoned my bank, who obviously knew Simply Electronics very well, and they strongly advised me NOT to cancel my order. If I did, I would have a lot of trouble trying to get a refund from them. Their advice was to wait the statutory 15 days and if the order hadn't been fulfilled, to contact the bank again for a full refund from them [and they in turn would be refunded by the seller's bank] This I did and 2 days later the entire sum had been credited to my account.
I was extremely surprised when 2 weeks later [ie 1 month after placing my order] the item arrived well-packaged and sealed in its original box! In the meantime I had purchased and received another Note from accessory-online via ebay - and cheaper incidentally than Simply Electronics - so I sent an email to Simply asking them to collect the item. In marked contrast to the delivery, it was collected pretty promptly!
My sympathy to everyone whose stories didn't end so happily. From now on I will check out online companies before making a purchase - and always buy with a credit card. Buying through companies like Ebay and Amazon [their tax arrangements notwithstanding!] does provide 2 levels of security - feedback from previous customers and a claimed guarantee from Ebay and Amazon themselves.
Ordered a new phone, told by sales rep that it would be with me in 4 working days. after 4 days, i called to see where my phone was, it hadn't been dispatched. I was told at that time it was actually 4 - 10 working days (so the first guy just lied to get me to order) and that a 'flag' was being put on my order. On day 10, I called again to find out what was going on, still not dispatched. Customer service rep was obviously used to handling complaints, because he just talked over the top of me and wouldn't let me get a word in edgeways. Rude. Now i've seen all the facebook groups about people struggling to get refunds, and i'm getting really worried. Wish i'd researched a bit better before buying.
Bought the Nikon 70-300 to put on Nikon D610. I found the lens nice and sharp and would recommend it.
Purchased a Nexus10 on Friday 22 November and received my order on the 29 November, Arrived very well packaged and no problems .
Brilliant tablet for anybody thinking about getting one,
Customer service was slow in responding to my emails,
But that said I got my tablet in 1Week and at a great price
My overall experience very good..
Attemted puchase, was told there was an error. Tried another card, still got an error. Called Customer Service, they told me my payment was pending and not to attempt any more purchases, as I may end up with multiple purchases.
24 hours later, contacted CS again and asked for ordr status, was told no order had been placed and I should send them an email. Next day, email from SE with link to purchase, still got the error, ended yp paying via PayPal.
Had SE not been £40 cheaper than their competitors, I would not have persivered!
I placed an order with Simply Electronic for a LG G2 phone on the 11th of November. Not only the price was very good but also they have the 32Gb model that no retailer stocks in UK, not even Amazon. The order was not received by the end of the promised two weeks and I started to poke around review sites like this one. I was horrified by the negative feedback, it looks like the vast majority of customers never received their order or whatever they received was wrong. I called the helpline a few times and the call was always picked up within minutes, emails were answered within a few hours. The responses I received were always vague and I got the bog standard excuse of the package being damaged in transit. I was about to give up when today, 3 and a half weeks after ordering I received my parcel from DPD. The box was intact with its seal, the model is CE marked with UK charger, right colour, right capacity and the telephone works perfectly. What a relief! Would I buy from SE again? Possibly. Would I recommend them? Only if you have nerves of steel. I have to say though that it does look like they are making an effort to address their issues.
I got worried after reading negative reviews about delay of service, however even although the goods took longer to arrive (approx one week later than original delivery date) once the goods were despatched everything ran really smooth. Using DPD tracking service was really impressive and the goods arrived to the exact hour that was predicted on the despatch note. All in all I cannot complain about the service received and I am very happy with my purchase.
I ordered a Go Pro Black Edition camera on 28/9/2013, this was a christmas present for someone, i ordered early to avoid the christmas rush. I quickly got an email stating "We wish to inform you that we have received your order. Your order number is 622918-992111 and is expected to be delivered within 7-14 working days." I had paid over 200 pounds which had been taken from my debit card immediatley and i awaited my camera.
28/10/2013. I've heard nothing my order status has changed on the website to 'priority dispatch'. I emailed and got a response that my order would be 'sent within a few days'. EVERY timescale this company gives is vague. I waited another week and with no update, phoned the company, they told me my order would be dispatched within a week and it was delayed due to the camera being 'faulty' (which if you read below seems to be the excuse they use once they have your money).
1 week later. NOTHING. So with that i decided I'd shop elsewhere for a present and cancel my order. I cancelled my order on 08/11/2013 and i asked for a refund. I was told 2 weeks.
I waited 2 weeks, No refund. I have emailed since 7 times asking for a refund everytime, they say 'it will take 2 - 3 working days' It is now the 4th December, I have no refund and keep getting the same response.
DO NOT trust this company, I am going to battle it out until I get my refund, but stay well away. But it seems they are doing this to countless people. Hope others manage to get there money back!!

I ordered 'In Stock' Nexus Tablet on 12 October with 7- 14 days delivery, then encountered same problem as other reviewers have experienced. I called "customer service", a joke in itself , and got some rubbish about the item allocated to me being faulty but to be honest I couldn't really understand what was being said! I followed this up with several emails and got the same bland responses each time - 'doing our best', 'appreciate your extended patience' etc. Finally on 5th November when it was obvious the Nexus Tablet was not going to be dispatched anytime soon, if at all, I asked for a refund. The email I received in response to my refund request said: "Please allow a few days for us to process your refund. It can take up to 2 weeks on occasion for the refund to be initiated due to current processes we have in place". The processes they have in place seem to be to hold on to my money for as long as possible. More emails and the same bland responses, I won't go into details you can get the gist from all the other reviews on Trustpilot.
Eventually on 26th November I sent an email stating that I would be contacting my credit card company asking for reimbursement under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit act if the refund was not in place by Friday 29th November. That worked! Refund was received on Friday. I have contacted my credit card company about the way in which Simply Electronics conducts its business.

First off, this has to be the worst company I have every had the misfortune to deal with on the internet. Very polite but totally unhelpful and getting either the product ordered or a refund was incredibly frustrating. Fed up with the delay here is what I did...
I contacted my bank and although I had paid by debit card I requested a VISA Chargeback, this is a relatively new system VISA operate where purchases have either not been completed as agreed or you believe you have been fraudulently charged. The bank then investigates the complaint and will re-credit you if they find in your favour.
My next stop was to complain to Moneybookers who are the e-payment operators for Simply Electronics in the UK. Moneybookers or SKRILL Limited as they are also known. SKRILL is a UK regulated e-payment provider. Initially they wanted me to speak with their customer services team, which I refused, instead I asked to speak with their Compliance Officer. The compliance officers contact details can be found on the firm register at www.FCA.org.uk The reason for requesting to speak with the compliance officer is that once you make a complaint if they do not resolve it to your satisfaction you can then take the complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service and get redress this way.
I then also reported SKRILL Limited to the FCA Whistleblowing line. This team investigates firms where they are failing to meet their regulatory duties.
Finally, and because I was really fed up with the way Simply Electronics hides behind 'fire-walls' that prevent you from ascertaining who the ultimate owners of the business are I reported them to the Fraud hotline.
So how did it work out? Well I placed the order on the 30th October and up until the 22nd November I had been given the run-around. I started chasing the matter down on the 22nd and within four days the refund had been processed.
As I said Simply Electronics has to be the worst company I have ever dealt with, but for UK dissatisfied customers there is at least a way to get your money back.
I ordered a phone 4 weeks ago having seen their site on another trusted comparison one. They stated having stock but I only got standard email responses to why the phone was not sent over the following 14 days. I cancelled and requested refund which I was told was on "priority" actioning. 14 days later and despite MANY emails and calls there has been ne payment to my bank. They appear to indicate having stock to get orders and the money without any intention of suplying. They should be banned from any UK advertising as they also indicate as being in UK but are in HongKong, I beleive.
I propose contacting BBC rogue traders and others as they need to be stopped to save this experience happening to others
Very upsetting experience, i canceled my order after 4 weeks of waiting for my mobile and now I am waiting for the refund (its been on "priority rank" for last 2 weeks). I am worried that I will never get my money back. Company seems to be SCAM, be very careful.
After placing my order, the order status keeps changing. Then reading the nightmare reviews I was convinced I made the wrong decision ordering from simply electronics. I cancelled my order but still haven't recieved refund! I'm going to report this company for fraud.
I ordered a Canon 600d on the 8th November. The status of my order kept changing and then went onto with the courier you will receive tracking details etc. I didn't receive any email and then the status changed to order backlog, it then changed to mine was a priority order. The company told me that I would be receiving it last wednesday (27th nov), I received nothing so contacted them and one person said Monday (2nd dec) and another said some time next week. I then read these reveiws and I wish I would of just paid the extra money for a decent company. I've just emailed to cancel my order and I'm sure I'm going to get the run around now with cancelling and the refund. Avoid this company.
This company display items as in stock and suggest a despatch period of 2-3 days...then when you place your order they change the 'terminology' and state a delivery period of about 10-14 days...I queried why my order hadn't been despatched (the item I ordered was displayed as in stock and still showing the usual despatch time of 2-3 days on their website)...they suggested that it was delayed because they wanted to make sure I would receive a better service..? (the excuses this companies customer service department dream up are 'hilarious')...I knew they weren't too interested in my dissatisfaction with their service and tried to cancel the order and ask for a 'refund'...they wouldn't accept that I wanted to cancel, no, they would give me a free cared reader for my computer...I had to request a refund by e-mail 3 times before they agreed to process it...This company must have difficulty understanding plain English...I even offered to send them an interpreter...now i've been told that it could take up to 14 days to process my refund because of the procedures in place at Simply Electronics...I've asked them that if this process is so fair and effective why doesn't Simply Electronics use it when taking payment for orders...I know I won't get my refund without a fight and a quick chat with some 'consumer advice people' will get the ball rolling, into the bargain I paid with a credit card...the point is....who needs the stress from a company that puts absolutely no effort into fulfilling its promises...Simply Disgraceful is what they are..!

Really pleased with my order. Best price on the net and received within the timescales given.
My only reservation is that i would like to see a faster dispatch of items. 7-14 day timescales is crazy these days but i was prepared to accept this for the great price.
The company is very slow in processing my order and refunding.
My experience with them:
26/09/2013: I ordered Nexus 7 (2013) from their website;
02/10/2013: my order was verified;
15/10/2013: they apologized for their delay after I asked them the status of my order.
21/10/2013: After knowing they were not sure by which date they would send me the product, I cancelled my order. They sent me a confirmation and told me to process my refund in 2 weeks.
05/11/2013: I asked them for not receiving my refund and they just said my refund request was submitted to their relevant department.
21/11/2013: I contacted them again for the refund and told them I would ask my credit card company to do some investigation. They said they would expedite my refund.
25/11/2013: I finally got my refund.
Ironically, in their website, they always say they have a plenty of the stock for Nexus 7 during last two months.

I bought a camera and the advert listed the things which the box contains. The box which arrived was missing two items and these were also not listed on the box itself so clearly I had been sent the wrong box or the advert was wrong.
Upon complaining, I have been given the 'runaround' and been asked a number of inane time wasting questions which were answered in my first e-mail if they bothered to read it. The matter has now seemingly been transferred to managers who appear to be somewhere in China and the responses from them seem to be duplicating what has happened on the first round. Still not received the items. I feel that they think I will go away if they draw it out long enough. They send you details of where you can look to see how the complaint is progressing. Every time I look, the last 'ticket' says the matter is closed. I feel a letter to the press coming on to warn other customers.

Always quick with responding to emails and always very polite. If you have requested a refund and you find it is taking longer than necessary you can ring Skrill (that's assuming your payment was processed through Skrill). Got my money back today.
