I was a little nervous after placing my order after reading some negative reviews, but I have been very pleased with Simply Electronics. They have been very patient with all my questions. My order was upgraded to next day delivery at no extra cost. However, they were let down badly by the courier company DPD. They were slow, lost the package, were totally unhelpful. However, Simply Electronics were fantastic when faced with all my questions about it!
Highly recommend as a company, even better if they change couriers.
This is a legit website, I bought a sony xperia Phone from them. It took 2 weeks to dispatch which they didn't mention on their website or in the order info. At least it was sent dhl and not Hong Kong or china post. The phone was the real thing but 2 accessories were missing from the box.
Good price and it was still cheaper buying the accessories than buying the phone off amazon or ebay
I have had no problems with this company. I ordered an apple Ipad (for a very reasonable price) and I could track the process right through. Came within 10 days. Does what it says on the tin. I highly recommend and I cannot understand the poor feedback that has been made.
I wish I could give less than one star.
Please avoid this company at any cost and save yourself a headache. I am sorry its a lengthy review but wanted to tell everyone how similar they sound to every one in giving reasons for not delivering items.
I do lot of shopping online and usually very careful in choosing where I buy from. I do take calculated risks sometimes. I bought a canon 6d camera recently from another hong kong based company and was delivered within 3 days. Never had trouble untill I choose to buy with simplyelectronics. Although some reviews were bad, I decided to go ahead.
Placed an order for tamron 24-70mm lens on 1st of april. (was around100 pounds cheaper) I wanted to pay via paypal as I did not trust this website fully, but the pay by paypal option disappeared. Now this was the first clue, maybe paypal kicked this company out, not sure. Used credit card instead. money got deducted instantly. They promised to deliver within 7 - 14 days.
Waited patiently for 10 days and kept checking the status on their website everyday.
still kept saying order still processing. So sent an email to find out the status.
Got this reply
Thank you for your email.

Words such as "trying their best to dispatch as soon as possible " 10 days after placing the order did not sound good. Hence sent another email to give me some definitive date for delivery and the following was the response.
Thank you for your email.
Given the sheer volume of orders coming through it is difficult to estimate a dispatch date. Rather than commit to a date and fall through, we ask for your extended patience during this time as we seek to fulfill your order. We have flagged your order for priority and will do our level best to ship it at the soonest available opportunity.
You can track the order process online via the My account page. Should there be no updates in the next few days, do check back with me and I will see if any new information is available.

So decided to give them some more time. waited for another 6 days, still no signs of it being dispatched. By this time I was getting worried as I had paid excess of 700 pounds for this lens. So decided to call them. On calling on 16th of april, I was told that "anticipate to dispatch the item after a week ". Still no concrete date for delivery and kept using words such as "try our best" "as soon as possible".
I was not happy and enquired about cancelling the order and getting a full refund. and this was the response which is exactly the same wording as other customers have got.
We are sorry to hear that you are cancelling your order with us.
After some investigation, I understand the delay was caused due to backlog on our logistics end initially and due to this please accept our sincere apology.
Rather than commit to a date and fall through, we ask for your extended patience during this time. The order has been flagged for priority already so it will go out as soon as possible. We anticipate dispatch within mid next week. Our customer service team will send you an email once the order has been dispatched. This will be accompanied with the courier details and tracking number.
We like to keep your custom and hence we would like to offer you a free 3-in-1 Cleaning Kit. We appreciate this is just a small gesture given the inconvenience but we hope it goes some way in restoring your confidence in our services.
On the other hand, please confirm that you wish to go ahead with the cancellation and a refund anyway.
Thank you in anticipation.
At this point I was dreading the quality of the lens if at all I could lay my hands on it and post sales support if the lens is faulty and need to exchange it. Decided to cancel my order and again I was told "will refund as soon as possible" and should take 3-5 days for the refund. I cancelled the order on 17th April.
on 20th April still no change in the status on their website about cancellation. so contacted them again about the status. Guess what they will refund it "as soon as possible"
I was really angry by this time about uncertainties and their timescale, hence sent a email to give me a definite date for the refund or will call the credit card company to recover the amount on 20th April.
7 days later I received the refund. Thank God!
I decided to buy the lens from amazon even though it cost me 100 more, but I have peace of mind .
All communications from simply electronics is simply lies and they just copy and paste the same responses to all the customers.
Avoid this company and save your self a headache.
I bought a SAMSUNG GALAXY SIII MINI on the 7/04/2013 and till today (24/04/2013) I have not received the item. The item is still not dispatched. Each time I sent an email for a status they reply to be patient and assure me that item will arrive. I have bought many things from internet from other companies, even from USA and never had to wait this long. Normally other website dispatch the item within 3 days or max 5 days. Now I have asked them to give me a target date when they are going to send the item or if I can cancel the order and get refunded.

I ordered a Canon 600EX-RT flashgun on 6/4/13. Money was debited from my account immediately and cleared their account on 10/4/13. After 9 days (15/4/13), when the order status was still "in queue for dispatch", I emailed, a little concerned, as I've always received a really prompt service from companies in HK. I got what appears to be a stock response that didn't really relate to my inquiry.
When I followed this up a few days later, I got another stock response. Several more stock responses later (some of which I have seen WORD FOR WORD on review sites), they have offered to add in a cleaning kit to my order, which has been "awaiting dispatch" since Thursday. When I emailed today, they told me that they have a lot of orders going out, but surely if you have packed the order already and it's awaiting dispatch, then you just get the courier to pick the items up surely?!
I honestly don't think Simply Electronics have any intention of shipping my order. I'm dubious as to whether they even have the flashgun in stock! I also don't think they have any intention of giving me a refund when I cancel the order Thursday (provided they haven't actually dispatched the item).
Basically, avoid at all costs.
UPDATE: I received an email today (26/4/13) which I have copied and pasted below.
"Our sincere apologies for the delay in shipping your goods.
After some investigation, I understand the delay was caused due to backlog on our logistics end initially. Your order had been scheduled for dispatch earlier however during a routine quality check it was found that the Canon Speedlite 600EX-RT Flash might be damaged. The decision was therefore made to halt delivery and return the entire shipment back to our suppliers for new replacements. I see that one of our customer service staff was suppose to contact you today regarding this.
Rather than commit to a date and fall through, we ask for your extended patience during this time as we seek to fulfill your order through alternative suppliers in the coming days ahead. The order has been flagged for priority already so it will go out as soon as stocks arrive.
Further to this you may also check your order status online through the My account page. We keep this updated at all times. So, as soon as your order status changes to “Packed” you can be assured it will be dispatched the same day or latest on the next working day.
If you prefer, we can refund the order to the original card which was used to pay this order. We are however hoping that you continue with the order."
Sound familiar? Do you feel like you've read this before? Check Chris Hall's review a few posts down. Word for word. This company are a scam. Yes, they do send out *some* orders, but I've wager that's the minority and the rest of us get screwed.
I've asked for a refund. I wonder how long I have to fight for it.

I ordered a 32gb ipad from Simply Electronics on 01/03/13, I saw their webpage saying best prices etc. I had a bad experience with another company also based in Hong Kong, so much that I placed the order by telephone specifically to ask whether or not this company was in HK which they denied.
Ordered item, status did not change until following week. They say up to 10 working days which is closer to 3 weeks before you can enquire where your order is and properly investigate it. I waited 2 weeks after quite a few calls made to them, I got really frustrated, staff will deny anything is wrong and delay you. I complained about lack of status update on their website and then got things like "Your acceptance of our offer is confirmed - order has been formally accepted", Order in queue - your order is in queue and will be processed for dispatch at the soonest available opportunity", "Order is progressing - your order is progressing. It is pending stock allocation or quality check before it goes out for delivery", "Order awaiting dispatch - Your order is pending courier dispatch. An email will be sent with the tracking details once it is shipped", and finally "Packed - your order is awaiting courier pick up and will be dispatched today or latest next working day".
Do not be deceived by this. was unhappy and got in touch with a well known payment processing company who overseen payment to SE. They took this very seriously and did not tell me the full story, and although they made sure I got my money back, it seems that their senior people were investigating Simply Electronics. There are other review forums dating back the last few years with lots of similar stories about this company, I was horrified!
I ended up going to a UK high street retailer and buying directly since I was so fed up! Moral of the story, if you want your items to arrive, stick to what you know works. I'd now rather pay a bit more for a trusted name when ordering online.

My ordered product did not arrive in the period simply electronics mentioned. I cancelled my order, and was told a refund would be made. That was a month and a lot of emails/messages ago. Still no refund.. Getting a bit desperate after reading all the other messages on this forum! I see some guys eventually received their money back, so i'll keep trying. What a mess, do not order with this company! I want my money back!

Only on placement of my order did i received confirmation that my order would be received between 3-14 days.
After about a week and a half my order status was still on their first stage "order received", so i sent their web form to inquire about stock availability and likely date of receipt of the order, to which i got no response,
So i sent another form to cancel my order after a few days of not hearing back, i received an email asking me to confirm my cancellation to which i responded.
After yet another week i had not received my refund so checked my status again which now said "on hold" so I phoned customer services and found out they had no record of my confirmation and asked me to send another web form, it is ridiculous that they have no organisation and then expect you to follow their ridiculous procedures (which don't conform to all the clauses of the sales of goods act) despite them messing up both the order and then the cancellation.
Still not got my money, hopefully i'll get it soon :(

I ordered a Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM from Simply Electronics Ltd on 22/3/13, the web site said they had 3 in stock priced at £1,019.95. Delivery was 10-14 business days I paid by paypal and my account was debited instantly. After 12 days my order was still showing as "order awaiting dispatch, your order is pending courier dispatch". I sent an email asking why it had not been dispatched, thier reply was.
10 April 2013 04:57 PM
"Due to unprecedented demand for our products and services a few of our orders have been delayed. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. This does not deter from the fact that we are doing our very best to ensure your order gets shipped out in the coming days.
To ensure minimal delays moving forward, we have upgraded all orders to expedited delivery service which means the parcel will reach your door step within 2-3 working days. As a further gesture of goodwill, we have included a free 3-in-1 Cleaning Kit along with your order. We hope this goes some way in restoring your confidence with us.
Your extended patience and understanding in the matter is truly appreciated, should you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to let us know."
Two days later my order was still awaiting dispatch, I sent another email asking about the delay and got this reply
12 April 2013 07:39 PM
"Thank you for your email.
Given the sheer volume of orders coming through it is difficult to estimate a dispatch date. Rather than commit to a date and fall through, we ask for your extended patience during this time as we seek to fulfill your order. We have flagged your order for priority and will do our level best to ship it at the soonest available opportunity."
I immediately replied to this and was then told
12 April 2013 08:14 PM
" Our apologies for the inconvenience caused.
We understand your urgency in getting this item. We are working diligently to ensure dispatch as soon as possible. We would also want to ensure that the order is shipped in good condition so we are doing a routine quality check. Rest assured that once the goods leave our warehouse, delivery can be expected within 2-4 business days. Please do note that all Simply Electronics purchases is sent via Standard Delivery."
So that is nearly four weeks to do a routine quality check and having been promised my order had been "upgraded to expedited delivery service" I was now being told all Simply Electronics purchases is sent via Standard Delivery.
Again I replied to this straight away and then received this three days later
15 April 2013 04:16 AM
"After some investigation, I understand the delay was caused due to backlog on our logistics end initially. Your order had been scheduled for dispatch earlier however during a routine quality check it was found that the Tamron B008 18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD (Canon Mount) might be damaged. I had not ordered a Tamron B008 18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD, by this time I was getting worried and asked If I cancel my order, how long will it be before I receive a refund? To be told
15 April 2013 11:48 PM
"We are sorry to hear that you are cancelling your order with us.
Please send us a cancellation request. Go to our Contact Us section to find the Customer Service webform and select 'I want to cancel my order' from the Question drop down box.
for Refund please allow us 3-6 working days to process your refund. You will be notified by email once we have issued it. You may also track the status of your refund by logging into your SimplyElectronics Account.
The bank might need extra time to process your refund, so how long you have to wait may vary depending on your credit card company."
I had only enquired about cancelling my order, but following the above reply I decided to cancel straightaway and received this email
16 April 2013 07:31 AM
"We are sorry to hear that you still wish to cancel your order with us due to our services . Your feedback is very important to us as it is used to help us improve the quality of our products and services.
We would like to confirm that your order has now been cancelled and a full refund will be following.
Please allow a few days for us to process your refund. It can take up to 2 weeks on occasion for the refund to be initiated due to current processes we have in place. You can be assured that once refunded you will receive a courtesy email from us informing you of the credit."
So now, after being told it would be "3-6 working days to process your refund" this had changed to "up to 2 weeks on occasion for the refund to be initiated"
As I had paid via paypal, I raised a dispute for the payment and escalated the dispute to a claim and received my refund in less than 24 hours. I would strongly recommend than everyone avoids this company like the plague. Remember, If it looks too good to be true, then it probably is.
Within a few minutes of receiving my refund I placed an order for the same lens with [External reference removed] which was only £15.00 more
Order date: 17 Apr 2013 04:59
Delivered 19 Apr 2013 09.05
Now THAT is what I call service
After reading some of these reviews I wish I came here first, I have been waiting for my goods for over two weeks.... While when I initial ordered the website said it was 'in-stock' now I am told that my goods were damaged and the warehouse will be shipping it out later than expected.. I have read three other reviews that say the same 'stock' statement... Some how I think they should invent a better lie,,,,
I will never buy from these guys again and neither should any of you..
I placed an order for an iPad 64 GB in white on 23rd March 2013. I received an email to say it would be dispatched within 7 -14 working days. Two weeks later they sent an email to say it was damaged and didn't have another one in stock and would I like to order something else. I telephoned to confirm that I would like to change the order to a black iPad and was informed there were 7 in stock. They also said due to the delay they would make this order a priority. One week later I telephoned to enquire about the dispatch of this order and was given no information. The next day I received an email to say the item was out of stock and would I like to change the order again! I was not happy with the service I was receiving and requested a full refund. They asked me to confirm this by email which I did immediately. To date I have not received a single reply to any emails I have sent. I have also telephoned on numerous occasions to make complaints and asked to speak to the manager who is never available. I am concerned that I will not receive any refund. I have read other reviews which seem to mirror everything I am stating here. I do not trust Simply Electronics Ltd and believe them to be a scam company. AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE!
Wouldnt use again dissaponted passed around customer service given the run around still no instructions
16 March - placed order and CC was debited within 2 days
20 March - received below email: Dear client,
Greetings from SimplyElectronics.
Upon packing your order, we had discovered that our shipment of Samsung EX2F (Black) WiFi Smart Camera was damaged, and therefore had to be returned.
Unfortunately, the replacements are not expected to arrive within any short period of time.
We apologise for any inconveniences caused, however in this unfortunate event, we would like to ask if there are any other similarly priced products listed on our site that may be suitable as a replacement? Should the price be slightly higher, we can perhaps waive this as a gesture of goodwill (please note we can only do this usually for minor differences).
Likewise, if the price is lower, we can have this reimbursed to your account.
Kindly let us know by reply and we will do our best to expedite this for you. Otherwise, kindly advise on how we should proceed.
20 March - checked the website and there are no other cameras around the same price range. The one I ordered happened to the the cheapest one, and so I chose the next cheapest one. Sent an email back.
21 March - did not receive a response so called them. Was advised on the phone that they do not think this will be approved and they phone operator had to ask a manager and will call me back. Never received a call back. Therefore on the same day, cancelled the order as decided to buy camera in an actual shop. Received the below confirmation email:
We are sorry to hear that you still wish to cancel your order with us due to our services . Your feedback is very important to us as it is used to help us improve the quality of our products and services.
'We would like to confirm that your order has now been cancelled and a full refund will be following. Please allow a few days for us to process your refund. 7 April - followed up via email as have not received the refund. No response
15 April - just sent another follow up email as no response
It has been so stressful dealing with them, and I am dealing with a fair amount of money. They were quick to take the money out of the CC but to get the refund has been a nightmare. I'm beginning to believe I will never get it back from them. I will report them if I don't hear anything soon.
I ordered a Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos from Simply Electronics on 26th March because it was hard to find in stock in Ireland and too expensive online. Then I found it on Simply Electronics at a good price and they had an Irish phone number. I ordered too quickly as I knew the price was good and I paid for it by Visa (which is usually very safe anyway).
When I later went online and read the many negative reviews I swore at my complacency and my failure to check them out first. I was sure that it would take me months to get my money back from Visa. The Dublin phone number was a local call connection to Hong Kong! I also complained that they weren't sending my updates by e-mail as promised.
However, I was surprised to find that my fears were misplaced and the Galaxy was delivered by DHL on 8th April in perfect working order. Moreover, their updates were all sitting in my spam folder.
This is 100% genuine review and anyone who doubts it can contact me by e-mail to dara.hogan at esatclear.ie.
Update on 19th April 2013
In response to Denis Kelly who mentioned that they do not have a UK address - they do - but it may be just a delivery depot to where returns are sent? That address is:
12 to 30 Oxford Street

I Ordered an I-pad and paid by credit card - the money was taken from my card the same day. Three days later, I received the following:
As part of our ongoing efforts to protect our customers from credit card and internet fraud, we would like to confirm your order and billing details through a verification process. Hence, we would like to request the submission of the following documents:
- A proof of Billing Address in the form of a Utility Bill (We need either a current gas, water or electricity bill no older than six months).
The submission of the following is OPTIONAL, and may assist us in speeding up the verification process:
- Photographic ID in the form of a passport or driving license.
Alarm bells starting ringing, but I telephoned them and was told that a utility bill would be acceptable and they wouldn't need further ID. (I still wonder what use my passport would be as the only information they have and my passport contains is my name.) I sent my utility bill and the next day received the following:
As much as we appreciate the business you bring to us, it is with regrets to inform you that we are unable to process your order further. As a result, we had to cancel your order and with your best interest in mind, a refund would be processed as soon as possible. Alternatively, should you be willing to make a bank transfer payment we can offer you a 2% discount on the order value. We would not require any verification on your part and best of all our Sales Team will communicate directly with you on the order process and payment instructions to ensure a smooth transaction. Simply send us an email and quote your order number using the Sales Enquiries channel on our Contact Us page or call our Sales hotline directly to take up the offer. More details can be found here: http://www.simplyelectronics.net/contact.php
As they have had my money for 5 days now - why is it okay to process the order by making a bank transfer payment? I contacted them again and was told that 'due to security reason we are unable to divulge the information and unable to reinstate the order' but a refund was being processed. Twenty three days has now passed with no refund. Birthday tomorrow and I have no present and no money to buy it with. Great! I have sent further emails in this time (to the email address that all other messages had gone to - and it wasn't a 'do not reply address', but I have not had a single reply.
For some extra information, I have not changed my address or other details for as long as any company would care about - I appear with the same name and address details on electoral roles and with credit reference agencies and do not have a dodgy past. They had the money what was the problem.
Refund now received - It took 5 weeks with a claim through my credit card and a review on Trust Pilot. Birthday surprise ruined - thanks!
I ordered apple tv to Simplyelectronics, and was surprised by their prompt response.
Not only delivery was quick, they kept me informed of every stage of the process right
from the beginning to the end. As soon it was delivered iwas informed that goods
has been delivered. I would not hesitate to do business with them again, and would
definitely recommend them to my friends.
Here is my story, I bought from SimplyElectronics Nikon D600, 24-70mm AF-S f/2.8 and 70-200mm VR II f2.8 AF-S lens. And how it all went:
February 19 paid (all item in stock)
March 12 arrived (was delay, because of problems sourcing camera, asked them to deliver just lens and camera later, when it will be back in stock, but never got any response to this idea, newer mind) The big lens 70-200mm arrived faulty, tested it at DHL depot, in front of costumers service lady.
March 15 send it back.
March 19 arrived, have all DHL confirmation tracking numbers.
March 22 contacted to costumer service (C-S later) to ask about situation, whey sad it still in DHL, me: send them email with DHL confirmation, C-S replied what lens needs inspection. Contacted via phone to C-S and was told will get a replacement. Ok, now waiting.
April 04 got email saying what lens will be repaired under warranty and send back to me A.S.A.P
April 08 Contacted to C-S via phone, ask about lens, why is it repair, not replacement, haven't got answer, just told will have to wait about another 4 weeks for repair.
I was little bit confused and got an idea to ask for refund and buy lens again, so will save some time.
April 09 contacted via phone to C-S to ask for refund, was told to fill some application. I told the guy on the phone about my idea, he suggested to me it is possible to send replacement, I just need to write an email. Rang them later and ask for supervisor, he was busy and I was suggested to wright an email. OK I'm writing an email about sending an replacement or refund, as it is already taking to much time.
April 11 got response: "Please note that assessment or evaluation is required for all returned item before we can proceed with the refund/replacement." it was done already on April 04, way do they need to do it again?!
So in general: paid on February 19, money were on they account instantly via paypal. And on April 11 still waiting for they mercy.
Spend the extra £20-£50 and buy your smartphone from a known shop. I made the mistake of trying to save a little cash and, as a result, have basically paid double for my Galaxy S3, having bought one somewhere else while now attempting to get a refund from Simply Electronics (or should I say 'moneybookers'). This company parades as a UK one but is actually based in Hong Kong. Their customer service comprises spouting platitudes to convince customers to delay demanding what should be theirs under the UK trading standards.
I bought my smartphone on the 22nd of March. While checking out, I noticed something dodgy with the checking out page, but it was too late. The order went through. I then immediately contacted them by phone to cancel. I was informed by Zuriala (unsure of spelling) who told me that "my refund should be processed within one working day as the order was only just placed". This didn't happen. I then contacted them through their customer service messaging system and was told on 25th March 2013:
"With regards to your order, we would like to inform you that the order has been cancelled. Please note that it takes 3-5 working days for the funds to reflect on your account once the refund has been initiated."
Even allowing for the Easter holidays, the refund has not been made in the time promised (now 11th of April 2013). I tried ringing their customer service line, which at first was unavailable, and then tried again after 30 mins to just sit on hold listening to their inane welcome message for 5 minutes.
I have just contacted them again through their online messaging service, demanding an explanation for why my refund has not been processed (not even started, as I rang to confirm with my bank) and for some exact details about when this will happen.
Their answer will decide if I enter this as a dispute with my credit card company, as I have their correspondence detailing that the order was cancelled and therefore no product was received, but they are not issuing a refund as processed. The UK Trading Institute and relevant Hong Kong authorities will also be contacted if I do not get a suitable response.
Placed the order 7/2-2013, Nexus 10 tablet.
SE is quick to reply on my mails, and I have written quite alot.
They say the item is damaged?
But the homepage says 10 in stock.
Have asked for a refund today. I have been way to patient.
I'm very disappointed of the service.
I ordered a Canon 650D, on April 4th, a week later and the order status still says the same thing. It takes them 3 WEEKS to ship out an item. (mind you, they don't give you this information at the time purchase.) So I messaged them asking whether I can pay more so they can send it to be sooner. According to their little e-mail, someone would get back to me in 24hrs. 24hrs later, still didn't hear from anyone. Then I called them, spoke to a guy name Mike, who said that my order can be expedited. 24hrs later still no status update on my account. I get an e-mail saying they due to "large number of orders we have coming through" they won't be able to ship mine any sooner and can't even give my any information on it.
Well I said, if you are getting such a large number of orders then cancel mine, because you are obviously acting like you don't need it.
Another point, customer service is horrible, had to wait on the line for 17 minutes, that is to cancel the order, and the lady tells me that I have to put it in writing. HELLLOOOOO, I already did put it in writing, you idiots don't respond.
My advise: avoid this company, worst experience ever! Hope this company goes bankrupt since it has no clue on how to run a business.
Ordered my samsung note 2 lte a month ago. After some emails i feel they have no intention of sending the phone. I have passed the matter to credit card fraud as i also feel there is little chance of a refund. Do yourself a favour and give this set up a miss. Pay a little extra elsewhere and have peace of mind.
Ordered two original Drift HD170 1700mAh long life batteries at £14.99 for the two including post. These usually retail at about £30 each. Thought I was going to get a cheaper copy/compatible battery but no, these are the original Drift Innovation spare batteries, got exactly what was advertised. Very pleased. Big savings and will buy from this online shop again no problem. Communication was great with notification of transaction and dispatch times. Took a little over two weeks for delivery but that's a small price to pay for big savings. Bookmarked in my browser ready for next time : )
purchased a portable battery from them and they were happy to process the payment immediately. After a week they advised me the product was damaged and I would get a refund. I requested another colour that they had shown in stock and they did not respond even after 2-3 emails. I then waited a week for the refund and they did not refund the freight! I opened a case and requested this is sorted and they said no problem. Waited a week and no result. Had to raise another case as the last was closed and they said no problem and a week later still no refund. I have had to escalate to PayPal all for the sake of a measly $10. Pretty sure these guys expect me to stop wasting my time chasing the money and to be honest it is a waste of time but it is the principle. I would strongly recommend you find another supplier who understands the value of customer service cause these guys don't!!!
I have purchased twice from simplyelectronics and have been satisfied with my products. Now that you can track your order once it has been shipped it gives you more confidence on the delivery. Their use of PayPal with a purchase limit of £1000.00 was unsatisfactory, especialy when PayPal asked for your bank details when your purchase exceeds that value(which of course they are not going to get). The company does not have a UK address. So far I have not had a problem with simplyelectronics.

I ordered a Canon 650D last thursday early morning and was hoping to get it in time for my sister's birthday (tomorrow week) as the estimated delivery time was 7-14 days. However the order hasn't even been dispatched as yet more than a week later. Really frustrated right now about this, also because there are only 3 items left in stock and this number is going down rather quickly (it was 12 until a few days ago) so from what I've read I'm expecting them to tell me the item is out of stock after more than a week processing my order! Honestly, don't think I will ever use this site again and I will tell everyone I know my experience so that they know what they're getting themselves into.
The only positive thing I can say about them is that the communication is relatively good in that they let you know where the order is at. But after a week of changing order statuses and not getting dispatched, its a bit annoying anyways.
Thanks Vannessa. If I am to get delivery between the 11th and 25th I expect it to be shipped latest by the end of this week otherwise I will cancel my order.
Order status has been 'Order awaiting dispatch' for 3 days after another 3 days status 'order queued'. Absolutely DISGUSTED with this company - 1 day to take payment, 2 weeks and counting to ship items. Been told yesterday my order has been upgraded to expedited shipping and once dispatched should arrive within 2-4 days. I also have a refund pending which has been pending for 2 weeks already now....
I have ordered a Nikon D5200 and a Tamron lens B008 on 13th March 2013 and till now I haven't received it. The order has remained with the same status for a couple of days now (order awaiting dispatch). Although I have been promised that my order is flagged as priority because of the long overdue, they can't give me a dispatch date because they told me it's very unclear. I'm so fed up because it was supposed to arrive within 14 days. They have always replied to my email but still isn't enough for me. I have been trying to contact customer care as well but nobody is answering. I really have a bad feeling about all of this. And i would never order from this company again. I have ordered from UK for several times but never had this kind of problems with delays
9/4/13 Thanks for your feedback Vanessa but the thing is that I'm still waiting. It's almost a month now and I've lost a lot of important occasions while waiting for my order to arrive. This has caused me a lot of inconvenience. While the correspondence by email was good,I can't say that regarding the efficiency in delivering orders. My patience has a limit you know and if you won't make up for all this incompetence I wouldn't order from your site again. I'm waiting for order to be dispatched by mid week, that's tomorrow and so I hope that it will actually happen. I have spent quite a lot of money on my order, better take care of it.
10/04/13 This morning I received an email saying that they still have no dispatch date as they are waiting for item to be replaced as it was damaged!!! This is so disgraceful !! I have never been informed that the item was damaged in any of the correspondence and have been waiting for a whole month. This is such a bad service. I will definitely never try to order from this site again and I tried to keep my hopes up that all will be delivered ok and with no hassles but this experience was a nightmare. This was a total flop. I really needed the camera and lens urgently and have lost a lot while waiting for it to be dispatched. Be careful guys before ordering from this site.....true the price is cheaper than other places but the hard time they've put me through it's not worth it.

I purchased a samsung Galaxy Ace 2 because of the amazing price offered.
Although the phone was shipped from hong kong, the delivery was very fast--about 9 days.
Phone arrived in perfect condition. However, when i tested the phone i realised the language was set to German & not being a "tech head",i had no idea which button to press to re-set as all the on screen prompts were in german.
I contacted Simply Electronics & they e-mailed step by step instructions on how to resolve the problem.
Sorted--so if you are thinking of buying from these people---- do it!!!
You will make great savings & have the peace of mind of an online warranty for your purchase + they are there to help with any problems.
Other than confirmation of payment 18/3/13 from moneybookers.com, surprisingly, I have received no emails from simplyelectronics regarding order confirmation/delivery status, and have not yet received the item. I phoned customer support on 22/3/13 who reported that the order was still "with compliance" for some reason, and that I would receive an email from them this week, but I have not.
I can't check on-line as the order was allowed to be placed without registering. I have tried to register since, but the system will not allow me to as the email address used for the order is already on the system. I cannot therefore view my account page.
So I resorted to the contact support form which sends a ticket to a support site. However there were errors with the submission which resulted in missing order/contact details, and it created 3 identical tickets!. I then registered with this support site so that I could log in and see responses (luckily this also allowed me to add the missing order details). I have not yet received a response.
I also tried phoning again and was given a 1 minute wait. After 15 minutes on the 0844 499 0616 I gave up.
So ten days after placing the order for an "in stock" item, I have no idea as to whether it has been shipped or not.
This is shocking customer support and I now feel inclined to cancel the order, as it needs to arrive by April 3rd but will I ever get a refund?
Thank you, Vanessa, but as I receive and read all emails without spam filtering, I can confirm that no emails other than payment receipt have been received until today, when I at last received I received a support form response by email. Since then, I have received a flurry of response emails, and following a telephone call from simplyelectyonics the order is now proceeding.
I ordered a nexus 10 on the 15th March and have just received my order. It arrived by DHL, well packaged, in perfect condition, and a day early. I received emails to confirm my order and when it was despatched. I had a problem paying for the goods on the site so I rang them and it was sorted immediately. I am very happy with simply electronics and I will recommend them and use them again.
Ordered a Canon Lens for my wife's birthday order placed on 03/03/13 Item arrived 25/03/13 (22 Days), When I placed the order it was in stock and to allow 7 to 14 Days for delivery. (missed the wife's Birthday by a day) :(
Lens arrived safe and sound, seems Ok so far.
Simple Electronics could do better in informing us the items are coming from Hong Kong and being more realistic on delivery periods, Their web site tracking system leaves a lot to be desired as far as communication is concerned, We just want to know when we are going to receive the item, not promises of when it could be shipped,
Other then the unnecessary stress in the communications the product is good value and well packaged.
It appears from other reviews I was fortunate to receive my order :)
I am sure Simple Electronics would do far more business if they were totally honest with their customers.

I ordered a Canon 6D, a Canon Speedlight 600ex and a 24-70 2.8L II USM from Simply Electronics in the middle of January 2013 over the phone. I had a hard time figuring out where this company was situated (I have shopped online for years and over the years my guards have been lowered since I never had problem ordering from anywhere.. HUGE MISTAKE to order without checking Trust Pilot, when I was in doubt ) but was told over the phone that the products ships from UK. There was excellent service when ordering and paying (of course) But when the products finally shipped ( it took about a week) the Track and Trace said that it shipped Hong Kong. I then realised I had made a huge mistake and tried to cancel the order and shipment without luck. I was told by them to refuse the package on delivery which I did. I knew that was a huge risk, since I then would be without the ordered products AND without money. But I didn't wanted to buy from a company that lies about where they ship from. I didn't feel I could be sure about the authenticity of the product and in case of repairs it would be a long way to ship my stuff.
I have untill today written them up to several times a week to make them pay me back and I get the same answer over and over again to be "rest assured" that every is being handled as fast as possible. I have once been told that I should have received the money already and that they are looking into it.
I now fear I have lost about £3000. I will soon look into finding the ones I read about in here who were looking into make a united police report.
I received my money today ( two days after my TrustPilot review) Even though they have been very polite and "helpful" I still keep my 1 star only. They lied about where they ship from.
Ordered a Samsung Note on 11th March. for my daughters birthday on 31st March. Any reasonable company could easily deal with that. ( I thought )
The company regulalry updates the order status but it means nothing. My order has been in dispatch awaiting collection by courier for the last 5 days.
I have e-mailed them twice, The last reply today, informs me that it will be next week now before it is sent out
I have no faith in the company whatsoever and wonder now if they ever intend to send it at all,
I will never use the company again.
So I make an order for a tablet because of its low low prices, but for personal reasons and many other reviews read after the process, I decide to cancel straight away. Now this means my money from the bank was pending to be taken. So when you order something it's pending and if you cancel before a certain time, there should be no issue in receiving that money straight back without any hassle. So we waited, they confirmed that I had cancelled, I even talked to someone about it and they ensured me that it would be cancelled before the day was out. The next day I find that the money has been taken instead of returned. This surprised me so I call back, and get another representative who was rude (would talk over me) and lied to me saying that she would solve this before the end of that day. This now being a Friday I would have to wait till Monday to even see if she was lying. So Monday arrives and to my utter shock and awe, no cancellation. So I send out a slew of emails and only receive back emails like "tell us your reason before you cancel so maybe we can work something else out". Clearly avoiding my request to cancel. But eventually, after contacting a Vanessa Carroll, the cancellation was finally confirmed.
Now chapter 2, the refund process. Since then, after it took them seconds to strip the money from my account, it has taken them weeks to process all of this and get my money back to me. I wake up today to find my account has been changed from Refund pending to "Refunded". So as any normal customer who has second thoughts about a company they order from would do, I checked my bank account. Does anyone think the money was there?? OHHH no it isn't! I have sent emails now explaining this and am hoping and praying I get my refund and close the books on this company.
So in summary, I was lied to, cheated, dragged along, swindled, treated like a child and with no customer etiquette or sense of urgency whatsoever. This has been nothing but a painfully, long and drawn out experience, which could've been avoided if they just followed proper customer protocol and treated me like I had any sense of value to them. To top it all off, it is my birthday. so thanks for making this a painful one.
Fingers crossed on receiving my refund =(
*I will add a star if the refund appears in my account soon*
I ordered a Nexus 10 Tablet on 18.2.13 which at the time was showing in stock, 7/14 days delivery, credit card debited immediately! After reading some very bad reports of this company on line I decided to cancel my order on 28.2.13. I was offered a screen protector if I would continue with the order which I declined. Although the company was polite during several e-mail contacts concerning whether my order had been dispatched and then when I would receive my refund I still felt that I was being given the run around and that these were just delaying tactics. I eventually contacted my credit card provider to put the sale in dispute.
My theory is that this company may not actually have any stock of items it says it has and that it just contacts the original manufacturer once an order has been placed, if that manufacturer is out of stock then you have to wait until it produces more.
The good news is that my refund has now arrived after nearly three weeks of waiting.
All I can say is look at the reviews and make up your own mind.
EDIT: 23 April 2013: Still no refund received. "Verification code" successfully send to bank account, but subsequent "real transfer" did not materialise within 2-5 business days as promised. Bank's fraud team are now investigating.
EDIT: 28 March 2013: No refund received, & bank says no transfer pending. No email from Simply Electronics to notify of intention to transfer, just the Trustpilot response on 27 March from Vanessa below.
Difficult to believe the positive reviews on this site. My order for a Nokia N9 was real, and money left my account for it on 19 December 2012. Since then, nothing but promises and failure to explain delays.
From 3rd January until 8th February, the order (for a phone) was "ready for dispatch", but each time I phoned or emailed the response was that they would elevate its status to urgent and "expedite it".
On 8th February they instantly - without pretending there was any chance the phone might be en route already - agreed to refund the payment. This was said to take "up to two weeks" (suspiciously similar to the "two weeks" delivery estimate) for the right "processes" to be carried out by the "relevant department". Again, each time I phoned or emailed, the response was, "it will be transferred after seven days" after the "relevant department" had been informed (again).
I believe they have no intention of returning the money, and with this attitude have to doubt they are in the habit of delivering real orders. So my opinion is that the reviews on this site, where positive, are faked by the company itself.
My advice, if you have been caught out too, is to instantly contact your bank, forward them email evidence of prevarication, and try to get your money back. This was my course of action.
A back up plan is that I have contacted several Hong Kong lawyers (which is where the contract would be adjudicated) to offer them the sale of my interest in the contract at a discount, like a junk bond. That way, you could still recoup maybe 10% of the money lost and have the comfort that SimplyElectronics might make a loss on the overall transaction if the lawyers recover their fees.
