LOOKING THROUGH THE EPIC LIST OF REVIEWS IT SEEMS THAT EVERYONE SUFFERS FROM THE SAME PROBLEM - NO GOODS AND NO REFUND.
CAN ANYONE WHO HAS RECEIVED A REFUND LET US KNOW. YET AGAIN I HAVE HAD TO CLICK ONE STAR TO GET THIS PUBLISHED - THIS COMPANY DOES NOT DESERVE ANY STARS THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS , I PURCHASED AN IPAD FROM THEM IN AUGUST, 7-14 DAY DELIVERY , 17 DAYS LATER NO IPAD, I CANCELLED THE ORDER 6TH SEPTEMBER, AND WAS TOLD IN AN EMAIL I WOULD RECEIVE MY REFUND WITHIN 2 WEEKS, SURPISE SURPISE, NOW NOVEMBER AND STILL NO REFUND. ALL I GET IS EXCUSES, WE ARE LOOKING IN TO IT, DON'T CONTACT US - GIVE US 24 - 78 HOURS, IT GOES ON AND ON. AFTER READING THE REVIEWS ON THIS COMPANY I REALIZE NOW IT IS ONE BIG SCAM, HAVE CONTACTED THE UK INTERNET ACTION FRAUD DEPARTMENT, THE USA INTERNET FRAUD DEPARTMENT, AND GOOGLE FRAUD DEPARTMENT AS WELL AS CONTACTING MY BANK TO START 'CHARGEBACK' PROCEEDINGS - I WILL NOT STOP UNTIL I GET MY MONEY BACK QUITE SIMPLY - SIMPLYELECTRONICS ARE FRAUDSTERS
UPDATE::: NOVEMBER 7TH STILL RECEIVING EMAILS SAYING THEY ARE PRIORITISING MY REFUND - LAUGH OUT LOUD
Originally placed my order on the 12th September for a Samsung Galaxy S4 mini.
After patiently waiting for a few weeks as it was 'out of stock' I finally gave up and cancelled my order on the 22nd October. It took 3 attempts to do this via email and I was promised a refund within a few days, but it might take up to 2 weeks!!!
Well, 2 weeks later and guess what! Just like every other poor person who's reviewed them so badly I'm still waiting and have now raised a dispute with my credit card company against Simply Electronics.
Thing is, I can't believe Google still list them in their shopping results. They are simple terrible!
The camera I bought came well packaged in proper eu spec,so I am very happy to have saved about £400.
Please let me get a refund of my money as i considere your service to be inadequate. Takes ages to process an order or the refund.
Money received easily after 5 working days...
I do hope I have not done this company a grave disservice, and I will be sure to amend my judgement in their favour if I have, but I am already harbouring grave doubts
On 28 October 2013 I ordered a Mac Mini from Simply Electronics.
On the same date I ordered peripherals for the above item from two other online companies, both of which have now arrived.
The order status in my Simply Electronics "account" states that: "your order is in queue and will be processed for dispatch at the soonest available opportunity."
Based on more detailed investigation of their website, and numerous feedback on this website and elsewhere, I am already harbouring concerns that I will ever receive my goods by the latest delivery date of 15 November 2013.
I have already contacted the Visa Disputes branch of my bank, to prepare for the recovery of my money following anticipated non-receipt of goods. I only wish I had carried out further investigation before placing my order.
Hi, i want the refund of the money i sent you, you told me that it would take 15 days and you havent send my refund yet.
Hope this problem can be solved quickly because im waiting for a long, long time.
After a nightmare experience ordering an item described as in stock and waiting over a month for a dispatch that never happened I cancelled the order and requested a refund. Needless to say no refund, they can take the money within seconds of you placing an order but refunds are a different matter, delaying refunds has been elevated to an art form with this company.
I have reported the company to the card schemes so they can be investigated and if enough people do the same hopefully they will have their licence revoked so other people don't suffer the same frustrating experiences.
Don't believe the positive reviews, they must have some busy people writing them
DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT ever buy anything off this company. Having bought stuff off them before, me and my partner did not believe the incredibly bad press they are getting on the web. Now we know why though.
My partner wanted an Ipad, ordered one and nothing happened for a month or more, she e-mailed several times and got very evasive messages and assurances. She then told SE that she was going to get legal help and involve the bank, nothing happened. After cancelling the order things are even worse. No money in sight although she was moved to a priority rank for refund (which does not seem to mean anything since it’s been on priority for a month now).
We also placed an order for a camera and that seems to be going the same way. It has been a month and a half and when we said we’d get legal help SE suddenly cancelled the order without explanation. We’ve decided to find as many review sites as we possibly can to let people know how bad this outfit treats some of their customers.
I ordered a phone from Simply Electronics as the site advised the item was in stock. A couple of weeks later the phone had not arrived. I checked the site and it still said in stock. I contacted customer service and to be fair got a very quick response back advising their was an issue with the batch and they were waiting for replacements. Out of courtesy they added a free memory card to the order for the trouble. A couple of weeks past and still no sign of my item. The web site continued to say it was in stock while the order status said it was on priority dispatch once received in. After around 5-6 weeks I decided to cancel my order and request a refund. I sent the first refund request and got no replay. I send a second and again got no reply although the order status had been updated to indicate the refund was being processed. It is now 2 months since I initially placed the order and I have not received the item and still not received the refund which was updated to "Refund on priority rank".
I am now on the verge of contacting my credit card company to dispute the transaction however I am hopeful the site will pull though and issue in the next few days. Not sure what to make of the company as they obviously meet many orders which can be seen from the good feedback but similarly also let down a number of others at the same time.

I placed an order on 23rd August for an IPAD. After 2 1/2 weeks of not processing my order, I cancelled the order. I have written numerous times asking for refund of unprocessed order and after two months I still have not received it. I do not recommend this company to anyone.

Long story short… same experience as most other reviewers on this forum.
My ordeal began when I placed my order on 25 August. After almost a month, and a long trail of e-mails, I reached breaking point and asked for my order to be cancelled (18 September). Again, long and frustrating e-mail correspondence ensued. The last time I contacted them, threatening to alert the relevant authorities as well as take steps to reverse the transaction, I received the reply below (15 Oct).
Needless to say, I haven’t seen a single penny yet. Meanwhile, I have raised the issue with my debit card provider (VISA) via my bank Chargebacks & Disputes team. Fingers crossed (I’m trying to stay positive), they will be able to claw the money back.
You should have received your refund by now. I have sent an urgent request to our relevant department to find out what is the cause of the delay.
We appreciate the urgency and do assure you we are treating this matter very seriously. We will send you a refund confirmation as soon as possible. I will do my part to ensure minimal delays moving forward in processing your refund.
Once again, I would like to extend our sincere apologies for not meeting your service expectations.

OK, I came on Trustpilot as I became anxious as item was in stock , yet has not been dispatched after 10 working days - I only ordered from them as they said they had stock when no one else had stock ! It is clear there is no stock. So tonight I have canceled my order and I am now awaiting a refund- Also what made me worry is that the Terms and Conditions say no sale contract exists until they make shipment - Yet they take your money on order !
Note to Simply Electronics - If I receive refund in my account in 5 working days I will post higher star review stating your refund process has worked for me - IF not this is not the last you will hear from me in public forums
Sony mobile phone ordered 09/09/13. after four weeks waiting,no phone received so i cancelled order to buy phone from elsewhere.Today is 1st of November and still no refund received, despite couple of mails sent! PLEASE AVOID SIMPLYELECTRONICS
Avoid this company if possible. I ordered a new camera lens which was showing up as being in stock, 2 weeks later it wasn't dispached. I then "googled" other reviews and found out that they were not UK based and I was worried about the warranty of the lens so I cancelled the order. I have now been waiting 2 weeks for my refund and going by other review on this site and others I may be waiting a lot longer. I feel very stupid for buying from them in the first place and am worried I have lost out on over £300. If anyone has managed to successfully get their money back I would appreciate any tips, they are very fast at taking the money OFF the credit card.
I recently had the displeasure of falling into their low price trap.
on 29th september I ordered a Canon Camera from them with the guarantee of 7-14 days.
At the end of those 14 days I presumed business days, so I waited longer. They had not even dispatched it.
I contacted them, and they apologized for the delay telling me there was high demand. They offered me a free cleaning kit to say sorry and told me it will be here in 2-3 working days.
Days go by and i contact them again, this time they tell me it failed a quality check, and that it should be dispatched in 48-72 hours. Guess what? It wasn't.
So now I have requested a refund. For some reason they are unable to do that in a prompt manner either. They were quick to take my money in the first place, I feel I have been ripped off.
I'm now presented with "Refund on Priority Rank
Apologies for the inconvenience. Your refund is on priority rank and is being treated with precedence. We will contact you once the refund is finalized."
They tell me a refund will be issued as soon as possible, but their "soon as possible" isn't good enough. I need my money back, i don't earn much and this was a big treat for me. Turns out it was too good to be true.
Delivery quoted 7-14 days.
Phoned after 14 days, they pointed out, on a bad phone connection, that it is working days. Fair enough. Yet why take so long for something that is in stock?
It is now the 13th working day and my status has changed recently from 1. Sorry for the delay we are diligently working on it, 2. Pending dispatch, 3. Priority Dispatch, 4. Ready for dispatch in 1-2 days. 5. We are arranging stock for your order. You can expect dispatch in the coming days.
I have just received a text telling me it will now be delivered on the 7th November. It was ordered on the 15th of October and the money was removed straight from my account on the same day.
So the 7th of November will be 23 days or 17 working days.
It can't be hard to post a phone if its in stock.
Or at least don't take money out of my account until you are shipping it.
Very poor, won't be using you again!
I ordered a Nexus tablet for my fathers birthday. After three weeks I asked for a refund. That was late September 2013. Its now November 1st. Guess what, no refund. I phoned customer service today to find out what was going on and was told this was going to take another 14 days to refund to my account.
Wow. Seriously wow. How can this company still be in business? Shocking service.
So Simply Electronics are on here and are not responding to my review. I would have thought they would at least have the courtesy to put their standard message about '24- 48 hour prioritized repayment'.
Finally I have my refund in November. That would be a refund for an order I made in September... Lets not give this company any more money until it can be proved they can be trusted with it.
Simply electronics did exactly what they promised! Ordered camera on the Monday £100 cheaper than anywhere else, kept me informed of status, despatched on the Friday and delivered the following Monday. Courier provided tracking details together with a 1 hour timeslot for delivery. Saw plenty of criticism of SE on the web but cannot support any from my experience. First class service!!
Cancelled an order with simply electronics on the 15th October after placing an order on the 12th October and still no refund! £580 they have belonging to me all they keep doing is changing the status of my refund, yesterday it was at refund completed today it says refund queuing on the gateway and will be with you soon!!! I just don't understand! Its theft in my opinion, they shouldn't be allowed to trade at all. I have also contacted watch dog to report them. Looks like I've had the same experience as most on this site. I'm taking legal action against these scumbags
I was disappointed at not receiving an email confirming my order. I could not log on to my account at first even though I tried forgotten password. no emails came through.I was pleased with the notification by email out of the blue when email received to inform me it had been dispatched from Holland. I was kept informed by email when the delivery was due, even to the time slot from DPD couriers. I was very disappointed to find the camera and and lens handbooks were written in Chinese / Japanese . I emailed Simply Electronics. They responded and apologised informing me they would send a manual out. The camera & lens arrived in perfect condition. The time taken to place and receive the order was ten days. Which I suppose it was a small price to pay for such a huge saving. Bill.
I PAID FOR A CAMERA ON 31/10/13 AND THEN FOUND OUT IT WASNT IN STOCK..THEN I READ ALL TH EBAD REVIEWS SO I CONTACTED THEM AND CANCELLED MY ORDER..THEY SENT 3 EMAILS FROM CUSTOMER SERVICES, THE LAST ONE SAYING THEY HAD INITIATED THE REFUND ON 05/11/13 AND ALTHOUGH I DIDNT HAVE MUCH HOPE IT HAS HIT MY BANK ACCOUNT TODAY.
SO I HAVE GOT MY REFUND!
I ordered a canon camera on 09/10/13 with 7 to 14 day delivery, and as of 31/10/13 it has not arrived. Various changes of status on the order, but these appear to be irrelevant because when I ordered, their system was showing 4 of the cameras in stock.
I've just emailed the company to cancel my order, and requested refund within 7 days, otherwise I'll have to try and request a chargeback and make Visa aware of this scamming company.
I'll report back in a week or so, and let you all know how that goes, though I'm expecting a lengthy battle and getting Trading Standards involved etc as this company is pretending to be UK based with a UK phone number on the front page etc.
Apologies for not updating this sooner. By pure chance, or maybe because of the review I put on here, my item was indeed shipped a few days after this review.
The item seems genuine, and the serial number registers ok, though I don't think it's the UK version, as the charger has a US plug on it and a UK adapter is supplied (which leads me to believe that it's also been opened (with a fake seal added afterwards).
The delivery process, once invoked, was actually very good, I was able to track the delivery driver on line and the estimated time of arrival was spot on.
So in summary, I think for the most part that the company does intend to ship goods to customers, but has some huge problems in respect of getting their equipment from hong kong (or wherever it's coming from), and isn't being upfront about not being a UK company, and not having the items in stock in the UK (my item showed 4 in stock at time of order, and with a UK number etc, an assumption is made that the stock is in UK, this is by intention I feel).
They also have communication issues, and should be initiating contact with their customers when delivery is going to be longer than the 7-14 days quoted.
They also have issues in terms of both taking money from customers (IE before the goods are even in the country, let alone on the way to the customer), and returning it, with customers only seeming to get monies returned when they put a review on here..and even then, I'm not sure I believe that they all got their money within 24-48 hours as the replies suggested.
Finally, I most definitely would not use the company again, nor would I recommend that anyone else does so. I've given myself a good talking to for not reading the reviews before making a purchase, and feel that I've had a lucky escape.
I hope this has been informative and prevents others from making the same mistake.
If not do not deal with Simply Electronics. I don't really need to write anything here. Just read any 1* review below, or in due course above. Bottom line: ordered camera 12 Sept, not even dispatched in promised time window (a very lengthy 14 working days - nearly 3 weeks!) despite being shown to be in stock all the time. Cancelled order and still not got a refund 4 weeks after that point. Now a disputed transaction with my credit card company. Fraud.
Below you'll see an unitelligible reply posted by Simply Electronics. I assume it means that by now I should have been refunded. I HAVE NOT. LIES!
UPDATE 19 Nov - finally got my card refunded about 2 months after the funds were originally taken, by which point my credit card company had suspended and refunded the original transaction. An experience not to be repeated. This is quite clearly a planned tactic by Simply Electronics to 'borrow' your money for as long as they can get away with and presumably make interest on it. Key messages 1. always check independant feedback before ordering and 2. purchase using a credit card so you have Section 75 Consumer Credit Act protection for purchases of over £100 in value. Cheap isn't always best!
Don't go near them......everything they say or do is suspicious. You get the run-a-round like you wouldn't believe. You only get imbeciles on the Customer Service Phone line. They insist on you emailing them, to which you receive excuses after excuses after excuses. To sum it up 'ROGUE TRADERS'
Horrible experience ,bought a cannon speedlight told it would take up to 10 days to deliver, after 10 days I contacted them and was told the item was not in stock and unlikely to be un the near future, they had already taken my payment,so I asked for a refund after several requests I gave up and contacted my credit card company to request a disputed transaction .
They are the worst company I have ever dealt with ,they have a uk phone number but they deal from china.
Luckily for me I bought a cannon mark 5d 111 from another Internet company at the same time called SLR HUT they also have a uk number but are American they have been a pleasure to deal with and gave me a good price ( they through in a 8hr battery for free but forgot to send it with the camera, when I phoned them to tell them of this they sent it out straight away,so I would highly recommend this company.
Please ,please, please do not deal with simply electronics.

After ordering a nokia 625 I waited 3.5 weeks and cancelled after simplyelectronics could not give me a shipment date even though their website showed the item in stock and even then they wanted me to wait longer, be patient lol .They said it was logistical problems.I am now waiting for a refund which no doubt drag on, thats if I get it at all.My refund is now listed as in queue on their website. My advice is buy elsewhere and pay a bit more otherwise you will be in the same boat as the rest of us FRUSTRATED !!. Do yourself a favour and listen to the reviews because they all follow the same pattern. AVOID !!! UPDATE had my refund today 8/11/13 , 42 days after first buying the phone.
For once I made the mistake of ordering from an online company without checking reviews first. If I had done so, I would obviously never have ordered from simplyelectronics.
My tale really offers no breaking new storyline from what other costumers has written in regards to doing business with simply electronics. I ordered a phone on October 14th 2013, which the website claimed could be delivered within 2-4 working days. In the following confirmation E-mail, that delivery date had immediately been prolonged to 7-14 working days, which made me suspicious and made me trustpilot the company. After reading the first review my heart sank and I braced myself for what was coming.
Before however, arming myself with the patience of a lion, which seems to be required dealing with them, I decided to contacted their service help desk, mainly because I was curious if it even existed. To my surprise and in all fairness it actually did so maybe there was hope I thought. The customer agent told me that no delays should be expected in regards to my order, which my instinct told me probably wasen't the case, so I asked if he personally, with all his knowledge about the company dealing with it's customers, would ever order anything from it. His terrified pause before giving his political and company loyal answer told me he wound't so I smiled, hung up the phone and started my wait for the inevitable delays and excuse to occur.
And ladies and gentlemen here we are. After my order, according to their website, had gone from waiting to be processed to then finally waiting for shipment, yesterday, monday the 28th of Octocer, the order delay message came. Having decided from day one, that any delays would equal cancellation, I have immediately cancelled my order and taking the testimony from all the other dissatisfied customers in regards to the money back waiting period, I hesitated not one second, to also notify my lawyer, in order to get my money back within the 30 days guaranteed by EU buyer protection laws.
Simply electronics responded immediately to my cancellation with a plea not to cancel my order by offering a card reader for my continued business and asked at the same time to have patience in regards to the money back period. Quote "Rather than commit to a date and fall through, we ask for your extended patience during this time. The order has been flagged for priority already so it will go out as soon as possible." Quote end.
For some odd reason I am not holding my breath in regards to getting the money within my 30 days time frame, but I am none the less determined to pursue this matter to the very end and will keep you informed on the progress.

Following on from where I was at when I submitted my review 4 days ago, they have finally refunded my money, this is the rest of my story and what I did to get my money, look up and scan through my previous review to get the full picture, but this is the story following on from the previous review.
After I posted my review on Trustpilot on the 28-10-2013, I checked this website the next day to monitor my review and lo and behold, simply electronics had responded as below.
I have now prioritized your refund and apologize for the inconvenience caused. The refund will take 24 - 48 hours but it may take longer depending on your bank's internal refund policies.
So I logged into my simply electronics account and on
Order status changed to: “Refund completed. Your order has been refunded. Kindly allow a few working days for the funds to hit your account.” (But since they had dragged this out so far and had lied to me before, I wasn’t holding my breath, I thought it might be just another tactic to shut me up for a few days) and blow me down, on the
Order status changed to “Refund queing on payment gateway. The refund was completed, it should appear in your account soon". (So I thought to myself, they had told me the day before that the refund was completed, so how can it now be queuing on payment gateway, So it was not completed when they said it was since it was queuing!! so I rang my CC provider whose representative said they cannot confirm that the company is a scammer and that I needed “A proof of cancellation of the order” from the merchant otherwise they would un query the transaction in around 24 days if they didn’t hear from me or the merchant and luckily I had kept all the emails they had sent me in the process and one of them had a decent statement saying “we would like to confirm that your order has now been cancelled and a full refund will be following”, but that would not be necessary as on the
Order status changed to “Refunded. Refunded” (I thought I would give them a few days to see what happens, but I knew that my CC provider does process transactions in less than 4 hours, but all that day, there was no change to my CC balance.
And finally on
The money appeared on my C/C account. The whole ordeal for me lasted 40 days, from when I first paid, to getting the money back on my C/C, It took 23 days from the day I cancelled and asked for a refund for the money to get to my account, this involved a lot of close monitoring what was going on (staying on the ball if you like) watch my account everyday, I told my C/C provider as soon as I cancelled the order due the reviews I had read that they are almost impossible when it comes to refunding money and my CC provider put a querry on the Transaction, this meant that although simply electronics had taken the payment, it could be withdrawn from them if they had no right to keep it, I guess the queried transaction showed on their account and they probably knew they would have to cough it back out of their belly sooner or later. I feel sorry for folks who are still battling with the monster and have been at it for months, I read someone’s review that was lucky he paid by credit card as the CC company got the money back for him. but I think the bank can help you if you used a debit card.
For me the nightmare is over!! Report them to the Serious Fraud office, Put your story on Trustpilot, someone again mentioned in their review that they seem to resolve issues instantly if you put a review on Trustpilot, well for what it represents, I placed my review on the site on the Tuesday and the money was in my account on the Friday, same week, so I don’t know if it was Trust pilot site, my CC provider flagging up the transaction, or my expressed constant pursuit for the money that caused them to refund. And oh for the record they never sent an email to tell me the refund had been finalised, but I can live with that, another little misrepresentation, reputable companies do exactly as they say on the tin, so this company will not be seeing me on their unsuspecting victims list anytime soon, if ever.
Submit a report on BBC watchdog, keep a record of their delaying tactics, and get your card provider involved at the earliest opportunity, the earlier you do it, the earlier you are likely to get the money back. But if you just sit back and relax, I fear you will never see your money again. It's like they borrowed the money from my life for 40 days, probably used it and made profit and gave it back with no interest!
Don't put yourself through misery by dealing with this company! there are lots of other good reputable companies out there, Don't be tempted by the cheap prices, there's nothing cheap about a total loss!!
Thanks for reading.

I posted a review of Simply Electronics three days ago re the shocking service I have received from them. I ordered an ipad on 31st August 2013 which was supposedly in stock yet it never arrived. They had the audacity to post a reply saying my refund would be processed in 24 - 48 hours. Funnily enough three days have gone by and still my bank account is empty!!!! How dare they.....do they think that by posting lies on forums like this that people will think any better of them. I am absolutely disgusted; Will I ever see my money again???
I'd love to know how much interest they are making on all of our money nicely sat in their bank account!!!
I'd advise everybody to stay well clear....do not touch this company with a barge pole!!!!
I'd like Simply Electronics to be honest and give me an honest answer when will I see my money? No more Lies!!!!!!
Stand up and be accountable for your actions. IF you cannot be honest when you reply to these posts don't reply at all.

Well I was worried about this company at first if I was gonna get my phone or not with this company waiting for a month ordered it on the 25/9/13 and got the phone on 25/10/13. I did phone the company twice to ask if it is being delivered and they said it will be with me in the next few days those days went and I was getting worried if I was gonna get my phone or not so I phoned up again for a refund and they said you gotta do it by e-mail so I didn't bother I thought ill wait another week or 2 and obviously now I have it, it's all brand new and in excellent condition. If the delivery isn't so long as they said it would be I would of given this company 4 stars but you have to have patience if you order anything from this company as they get their stuff from China I think so it takes a lot longer. I just like to thank you Simply Electronics for delivering my item and I hope everyone that hasn't got their item or refund that this company will do it for you.
Trust Pilot's star rating says it all: "1 star: Very bad – unacceptable experience, unreasonable and rude conduct."
Same terrible experience as most other reviewers. I ordered an item on 30th September, my card was charged immediately. Delivery was scheduled in 7-14 days. After 14 days I had the long overdue sense to check out reviews of the company and promptly cancelled the order. Simply Electronics said it would take up to 2 weeks (!!) to initiate the refund process. Well guess what, 14 days later and still no sign of a refund.
I've been in touch with my bank's card dispute department who should get my money back.
As far as Simply Electronics goes, yes they are probably a scam outfit. Either way, just AVOID AT ALL COST.
It's the same story as everyone else. Immediate debit of money (15 Sept) followed by non-delivery of item, justified by vague and implausible excuses about exceptional demand, logistics back up and other rubbish. My impression is that IF they are a reputable business, which I doubt, they clearly do not have the stock they claim to possess in advance of orders being placed. But that is a charitable interpretation; my impression is that they are SCAM. Eventually I cancelled the order (for non-delivery after almost 4 weeks against a stated policy of shipping in 1-2 days, max 10-14 days for delivery). I didn't realize I was dealing with a faceless entity in Hong Kong. I'm still waiting for a refund from cancelling my order on 10 Oct (it is 28 Oct today) against a stated maximum time for refund of up to 2 weeks in exceptional circumstances. Why, you ask, do they even need 2 weeks to refund your money? I wish I could give this outfit 0 stars, and I wish I'd read these reviews before using them. Do yourself a favour: DON'T GO NEAR
ALSO: DO NOT TRUST THE OTHER REVIEWS ON THIS SITE THAT GIVE 5 STARS. I SURMISE THESE ARE THE COMPANY FRAUDULENTLY REVIEWING ITSELF FOR PR REASONS.
Similar experience than others. Money was taken immediatelly from my card account. Products never arrived, now waiting refund. Made an order 9th september.
Have also contacted on my bank and skirll.com. And why the hell skrill is letting SE to use the service. Look these review and avoid! Actually 0 stars would be the right classification.
AVOID THESE PEOPLE AT ALL COSTS !!!!!!!
On the 28th Sep I placed an order for the Blackberry Q10 phone after reading what I now realise are DUBIOUS reviews on Simply Electronics site, of course I should have looked at proper review sites for genuine opinions but like most people I was swayed by the SILLY prices.
The minute I placed the order my card was debited I know this because my card company phoned (albeit an automated call) to check if I had placed this order, if only I had said no. I was surprised & annoyed at the speed of which they debited my card due to the fact their email said delivery would be up to 14 days, however, this 14 day period was guaranteed so I was prepared to wait. During this time I phoned & asked if they had a delivery date so I could be at home to receive the parcel & was told 'no it is a very sought after item & we are doing our best to source it & I guarantee you it will arrive within in the 14 days'.
Alarm bells started to ring when I received an email stating that the debit would show as SKRILL on my card & on day 14 with no delivery of goods I emailed the person/people in their call centre ????? to cancel my order which I now knew they had no intention of supplying me with. I received an immediate response which again is strange offering me a free micro memory card or if still wishing to cancel I would need to email them again which of course I did telling them what I thought of t their BAD PRACTICE including the boarded up building in London (I searched it on Google Maps Street View) which is the address for SKRILL the moneybookers.
Many emails have been exchanged promises from them with ridiculous excuses about how it will take time to refund ( phrases such as initiated, when we begin the process) & my responses of disbelief at them taking my money holding on to it long enough to make some interest before they will even consider a refund if ever. Given they could debit it immediately how come it is such a long process to refund it, absolute stuff & nonsense.
I have of course contacted my card company & it is in their hands & that of trading standards I won't give in to these despicable people who should be shamed into decency. Do not be fooled by the look of their website which is easily mistaken as professional looking & genuine & UK based I promise you there is nothing genuine about these people .
I ordered a camera from Simply Electronics and then went into their bizarre fulfillment process, they claim they are processing your payment for a few days when you can see it was taken from your card straight away. Then it's waffle around processing your order but no action, in the end I cancelled my order and am now waiting for a refund, why can they not act like any other online business I've dealt with? If I wanted a protracted experience I'd trudge round shops, if you want to provide online services then you need to be capable of delivering promptly. Avoid this company!
I find your services really satisfying and the quality of the product I've bought is excellent as well. Also,I've received the delivery in a one week time(not in 14),which makes you guys feel reliable.I'll definitely buy again from Simply Electronics.
RE: Order Number 616634-978517
NEVER do business with 'Simply Electronics'.
A very bad experience typical of many hundreds already described on here: order placed; not delivered within 14 days; generic, nonsensical excuses; order cancelled; money not refunded as promised. I reported them to my credit card company (Barclaycard Visa), who refunded my money. I am sure that credit card companies have by now had many applications for refunds of failed transactions from SE, and hopefully they have the clout to drive SE out of business. If SE are messing you about and you paid by credit card or PayPal, report the transaction as a 'disputed transaction'. You will have to fill in the form they send you, write a letter summarising what went wrong and print out copies of the relevant emails, then send it all off to the credit card company. Barclaycard Visa refunded me on the same day they received my complaint of a disputed transaction. I hope Simply Electronics go out of business soon.
