Non-existent customer service - Read reviews before buying!

So initially I gave a scathing review as my order arrived incomplete. After 5 emails (and paying a lot to stay on hold using their premium rate 0844 number and not getting through to anyone) I got only one response which was an email from sara@outdoormania with an email sign off from Amelia or in other words someone copy and pasted a generic email and sent it to me.

Yesterday the remaining parts of my order have arrived and are as expected but there in lies a big problem.

1. They promise a next day dispatch of goods yet it was two weeks. If you are ordering before your holiday bear this in mind as the stock shown on their site and delivery times are a fabrication!
2. If there was a genuine problem such as my goods didn't arrive or were incorrect then there is nothing you can do about. They already have your money - tough luck!

For a first time skier like me I got all my gear (excluding boots and skis) for £225.00. Would I purchase from them again, absolutely not!

Fine For Me

If I'd read the reviews first I wouldn't have ordered. However best price so I took the plunge. And I have to say I am glad that I did! There service was superb. I rang first to check them out, got straight through and was given some good advice on what to buy (even saving me a few more pounds). The parcel with the jacket and pants turned up next day and it fitted perfectly thanks to the advice I was given. The telephone operator was very polite and courteous and the goods have been brilliant. My only slight negative was the packaging that the good came in, though everything else was so good, I have to give them five stars.

Not as bad as the reviews would make you think.

I placed my order on a Sunday, a week before leaving. After reading this site, I feared the worst!!
However, my order was dispatched on Tuesday, and was with me on Wednesday. The order was complete with the slight exception that my blue socks were substituted for black socks.

It's fairly obvious that they don't have a 'live' stock system which is a must these days, but all in all I had a fairly good experience.
I've only given four stars due to the fact that my order wasn't exactly as it should have been. However, I'm glad they sent a suitable replacement, rather than delaying the order.

They were far cheaper than anywhere else, and I would definitely use again.

Terrible Communication with rubbish excuses

Ordered Ski Goggles on a 1- 3 day delivery. Several emails sent chasing the order with no reply. Finally called the company and was told they were not replying to emails!! Not only this but there systems do not show when problems arise where they have no stock to fulfill the orders so they couldn't have let me know!

Terrible communication and customer services. Would never order again!

ATROCIOUS!!!

I Ordered some things from skimania hoping they would arrive in time for my skiing holiday. 11 days later (4 days before my holiday starts) and still not received my items so contacted them via email and they never replied. Tried to phone them and the line is always busy (probably others wondering where there items are!!!). Two days of trying to contact them I gave up and cancelled the order and bought similar items from Trekwear which also gave me free next day delivery.

Take your order then tell you 2 weeks later they don't have it and more...

Took 2 orders - e-mail confirmation that order was successful. Two weeks later I am told that they don't have parts of the order. Also ordered a ski package but only the jacket has arrived.

Complete waste of time ordering from them and now I have the hassle of sorting out a return.

No communication at all, very disappointing!

I placed an order on 4th Dec 2012 for a pair of boots and a pair of gloves. They were supposed to be Christmas presents.

Hadn't heard anything from them so sent them an email on 14th Dec 2012 to find out the progress of the order.

Heard nothing, no response from them at all.

I then sent a complaint email on 27th Dec stating that I was very disappointed that the gifts had not arrived in time for Christmas. I stated that we still wanted the goods so if they could get them to us by 5th Jan then I would be happy with that but if not that I would cancel the order.

They then sent me an email today 30th Dec 2012 (the first response to any of my emails) cancelling the order themselves.

They didn't apologize for wasting my time or even try to rectify the issue.

Disgusting service!

I would not recommend this company to anyone, please avoid skimania also trading under www.letshike.co.uk which is who I ordered from.

Very poor service and USELESS telephone support!

They keep you waiting for hours to speak to them! I have called 3 times now asking for an update on my refund, they lie each time, saying it is being processed, watch it you maybe losing money with this company. Extremely poor company that I will never use again despite their so called cheaper prices. Not worth you wasting your time on this poor company

UPDATE - spent over 2 hours waiting for this company to answer on the phone and when getting to the next available operator they disconnected me...............

DO NOT USE!

19 Jan 2013 UPDATE - STILL NO REFUND!!! OVER A MONTH LATER OR AN EMAIL, PHONECALL, EXPLANATION OR APOLOGY ALSO SEE BAD REVIEWS ON OUTDOORMANIA ITS THE SAME COMPANY
I placed an order with this company on 3rd December 2012, website states next day delivery and advises to allow 1-3 days at busy times, 5-7 days outside of the uk (I live about 50 miles away). On 9th December I received an email advising my order had been dispatched on the 5th December. However the tracking link didn't work and no tracking number or delivery company details were provided. On 10th December I sent an email requesting an update and explaining that the order was required urgently as a gift. I asked for an urgent response provided email and mobile number no response was recieved. I advised that if my order was not received on time I would need to cancel. Then on the 12th December my payment was taken without me being contacted and after I had been advised it was too late. It is now the 17th December, 2 weeks since I placed my order, and I still have not recieved my order, or an update. I ordered other ski suits from Trespass well after this one and recieved no problem within a few days. I have emailed to cancel and requested full refund including the delivery fee as I never received a delivery. Have yet to see how long my refund will take!! AVOID!!

Look Elsewhere - No delivery note or advice after 5 days - Called and waited on line 29 minutes to speak to someone.

It's clear these guys only have one or two (at most) people running the phones at any one time. I wonder if they get a cut of the telephone call charges?!?!?!! I have ordered from them before with no issues but this time the customer service / support was terrible. They advised that their system is behind due to being busy so no dispatch notices going out - I won't be using or recommending them again!

Avoid

Rubbish.

Showed 4 items in stock, 3 arrived, 1 on bvack order. Of the 3 that arrived one was wrong colour.

Tried for a week to contact customer services, made no 4 after 28 mins.

Avoid like the plague - there are better out there.

Happy customer

I ordered a pair of ski pants, some thermal underwear, a pair of ski goggles and a pair of socks from skimania on Sunday afternoon. I was horrified after reading all the bad reviews about skimania later on. However, everything was delivered on Tuesday, which was a suprise as the website was still saying "awaiting allocation". I really love the items, they are as described and they fit really well. I can only recommend them.

Terrible

Like most people the internet said 3 days for delivery. 10 days later and no e-mail saying what is going on. Currently on the phone waiting at caller 5 and been on for 15 mins already. I will be cancelling as soon as I am able to actually speak to someone.

Perfect

I had doubts after reading the reviews here having alredy ordered. No problem! Ordered and recieved within four working days and saved over £70 on the Berghaus RRP for the Mera Peak jacket.

AVOID!!!!!!

Ordered an item that was supposedly in stock. It stated on their website that it would be dispatched in 1-3 days. 3 days later nothing. No e-mail or phone call. Spent an hour waiting on their call queing system only to be told the item wasn't in stock. The operator will then tell you "They can only apologise", "Its not a live stock system" (so ignore anything the website tells you), "We can cancel your order, or can wait and HOPE more stock comes in". Still waiting....

Shocking!! - Avoid at all costs

After ordering an item on the 16th December 2011 (an item that was apprently in stock), I received an e-mail stating that the item wasn't in stock and that I could wait, or cancel my order.

I e-mailed their enquiry's team (enquiry@emania.co.uk), asking if they knew when the item would be in stock. I waited a few days before deciding to phone their 0844 number. I spent 30 minutes on hold and didn't get to speak to anyone because after waiting for almost half an hour, it had ran into their lunch break!!

I then proceeded to e-mail their team to cancel my order on the 19th December.

After almost a month, as today is the 18th January 2012, I've been debited the amount for the item I cancelled a month ago... I'm dreading trying to get my refund processed, no doubt I'll need to wait more than a month for that. I expect I'll be contacting the bank in order to get somewhere with it.

I don't hold any hope of getting my postage costs refunded.

Avoid this company at all costs, (It will cost you!)

- Update -

I received an Item yesterday... Not the item I ordered! .. although it is the same colour... the waterproofing is 5000mm instead of 15000mm and it's a cheaper alternative to the one I payed for!!

Terrible!

I recently ordered from their site, which said they had stock of the item I wanted.

After providing my details, including my card details (which I'm now worried about), they sent a confirmation e-mail.

A day or so after receiving the confirmation e-mail I receive another e-mail with a badly worded message saying that they didn't have the item in stock and it'd be despatched as soon as they had it. Should I wish to cancel I could ring their customer service number.

I've now sat on the phone to an 0844 number for the last 25 minutes, in position 8. I got to position 3 and it's not moving..

I'd advise anyone considering using their service to steer clear.

I'd rate at 0 stars if I could!

Fabulous Service

Bought two or three times and always the advise of the women on the phones is excellent. Everything fits and if there is ever an issue they always sort out there and then. Good prices and a vast range of skiwear. One of the best on the Internet.
