Mavic crossride spokes like rocking horse s..t to get hold of, excellent price , steep delivery but overall , postage inc still good price. And excellent delivery time too. .......updated a star because on reflection they had the product I couldn't get in the more known sites who do offer free delivery ..
Ordered a cycle computer at 4pm and it was delivered by post the next morning. This is the second item I've ordered from Slane with next morning delivery in NE Scotland.Set up the Polar computer on the bike but not been out yet.
I was looking for a spacer for my 3df crank and rang three different bike shops that were supposedly Rotor stockists. The level of customer service I received by all 3 left a lot to be desired, from ring back next week to we don't stock them. I then rang Slane Cycles, the person that answered new exactly what i wanted, said he would just confirm that i didn't need anything else from one of his mechanics and would call me back within 15mins. I received the call back within the time, I was also told they would be shipping the part first thing Monday morning and sent it ion for free. This is what i call serious customer service.....I couldn't recommend them highly enough.
Ordered a number of things online and the guys were very helpful in guiding me towards exactly what I needed. Ordered a new frame and their first estimate of when I'd receive it was very inaccurate, still waiting for it. If it comes when it's now supposed to then I recommend Slane Cycles for sure. Hope it does!
I was unable to find the item I needed in my size in the states, so I took a chance with Slane Cycles and I couldn't be happier. Their pricing was competitive and they were communicative throughout the ordering process. Initially they notified me that the item was not in stock and that they could order it from the manufacturer. I decided to let them try this, with some concern that it would add a lot of time to receive my item. To my surprise it only added a week or so. While the item was on order they also contacted me via email to make sure I had chosen the correct size, since Mavic uses international sizing (int XS = US XXS). Though I had done enough research to realize this I was happy with the communication.
As above, no problems whatsoever.
I required a Shimano Nexus inter 7 hub - cable joint bracket which Shimano/Madison informed me was part no. CJ-7S40. On calling Slane Cycles they confirmed they had several in stock. What I received was the cable clamp bolt for the unit I required. Slane blamed Shimano/Madison for the incorrect part number.
After further investigation on the net, I deduced from a US website that Shimano had changed the part number to CJ-NX10. There is some serious stupidity going on here and its cost me money and all I got from Slane was a cop out.
I've since found a UK mainland seller with the correct part
I ordered a replacement visor for my Giro Selector time trial helmet. Although it was listed as being in stock when Stane Cycles checked it prior to despatch they saw that it had a blemish. They informed me of this and placed an order for a new one from their distributors. This showed a long lead time and Stane Cycles then offered me the choice of cancellation or waiting. I chose to wait (it's pretty near the end of season and I was able to effect a temporary repair to my existing visor), The replacement has now come, perfectly and safely packed. I'm impressed with their interaction with the customer.
Have used Slane plenty of times and spent reasonable money with them, last order went pear shaped when I had not received the order as quick as normal, transpired that one item was not in stock and they were holding the order until said item came in to stock, (fair enough to save on two lots of shipping) a quick call or email would have come in handy here. They forwarded on order along with a couple of water bottles and a slane cycles bag to make up which I though was ace, the problem was then I needed the second item and to cut a long story short I chased 4 times by phone and email and the date kept getting further away until in the end I requested a refund that took no less than 10 days to appear our end. At no point did Slane cycles contact me to explain delay and no attempt was made to keep business which sadly will be taken elsewhere on principal as there are plenty of shops out there. It may have only been a small item but the fact remains that not once was I contacted about any of the order or delays from start to finish.
The order process was easy and quick on Slane cycles .com.
However when it came to the shipping and delivery, although the address of delivery was Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the package was sent through Royal mail to New York, United States.
10 days after the order, the package is still sitting in the US (for 4 days now), and I have no clue when I will be receiving it.
Royal mail, can't help, neither the help desk of Slane Cycles, everybody says "we have no idea, you have to wait and see when it will be redirected from the US to the United Arab Emirates.
I know the boys at Slane Cycles well and have always found the level of personal service to be the best in Northern Ireland. Their product lines are top-end and extensive and their prices very competitive. Even though I live close to the shop, I've recently started using the website and the products arrive well packaged and on time. Overall, a good company to do business with.
Excellent service, goods arrived on time and exactly as advertised.
Ordering and paying for items was simple with no lengthy drawn out processes. The items were well packaged and delivered quickly. Highly recommended supplier.
Very good service, fast shipping to Germany, reliable conversation.
Rather high price in related to comparable goods on german market, but this discontinued item was available dispite it was taken from the market by manufacturer! The higher price was therefore acceptable.
Good internet platform!
Part was unfortunately the wrong bit (rear hanger for a Pinarello) these come in different sizes I guess I was just unlucky, an email had this sorted and on return of the goods I have been promised a full refund ....thanks good returns policy.
What was ridiculous was that the hanger (no longer than my thumb and 3mm thick) came in a box similar to that which you get shoes in? WTF
It was my second order and again it was processed very fast and perfectly packaged - nothing to grumble about.
I´m going to test (ride) my new MTB-gloves tomorrow on a rainy sunday in the Grunewald-Forest. :-)
I've ordered on two separate occasions from Slane Cycles (http://www.slanecycles.com/) and have had a perfect experience each time. The orders were exactly as advertised and receipt of international shipments took less than one week (from N. Ireland to Canada). The scope of products available on-line are high-end and include some difficult to locate products which may not be available from other on-line vendors. I would recommend this merchant as its prices and service standards are very competitive.
I paid for the part I needed in the right colour and not until it was being packed was it noticed the product was different than that which is shown in the photos. Annoyed, but I guess glad in the end as it could have been worse.
The service from Slane was good, although it was disappointing that I needed to request an update on expected delivery times after it turned out that a product listed as in-stock was discovered to be out of stock.
That said, the company was apologetic for the error and, once the goods had been received from the manufacturer, Slate wasted no time in getting them to me.
However - and I am not attempting to be petty here - I am a little surprised that no other gesture was made to secure my future business. Perhaps a small discount or an inexpensive accessory.
It's not vital, but certainly with the level of competition in online retailing, these sorts of gestures can make a difference.
