I ordered a collage photo panel for my friends birthday. And it was difficult to choose a present for my friend as she's one of those girls who have and tried everything. But I was really pleased with the results.
I had only used Snapfish for printing photos before this. But I had printed and framed quite a few collage photos. So I thought I could order a collage photo panel because it was something different.
I was so happy when it arrived. Basically, it was a collage photo printed on not too thick wooded panel. The wood was quite dark and it did look very elegant, not too heavy or bulky as the photo blocks that SnapySnaps sell. Plus it had very nice glossy finish.
I used my friends holiday photos. And I found a photo of purple lace which i uploaded as a background. It made the border going around the photos in the collage look really pretty. And you can imagine that my friend loved it.
I think that it's quite a nice gift as it's not a very popular concept. And yet is quite personal and thoughtful. Plus, it's easier to clean than a photo frame with details and glass.
Received a canvas a few days before Christmas which was damaged. The picture position had also been changed and was not central.
I asked for a refund but Snapfish insisted in reprinting it despite the fact the positioning was wrong. The customer service team did not read my emails properly when I complained. I knew that the canvas wouldn't arrive for Christmas but they ignored this.
In the end I had to buy my sister a cheap cookbook for Christmas instead.
I then wrote a review of the canvas on their site, saying that the positioning had been changed and the packing was not adequate, and it was deleted by their administrators. So they are clearly picking and choosing the reviews they choose to publish.
I complained (around the 6th email I have sent now) and got a refund, but too late for my sister's Christmas present. Terrible service. Will never use them again.
I ordered a photobook of my son's first year for my mum as her Christmas present. I own a good camera but to my great disappointment some pictures in the book came out blurred, dark or even cropped. Their website is not very easy to navigate either, which makes the whole process frustrating. I won't be using their service again- there are so many other companies I can spend my money at!
I have already shared this story on another review site. But I though it was worth posting it here, too. I buy from Snapfish regularly, mainly gifts for friends. But I print all my photos with Snapfish so I have a few products at home and at work, too.
Basically I bought two different photo books (11x8" linen and custom cover photo books) for my cousin. I spend a lot of time searching for photos, creating the books and adding final touches. When my cousin*g got them, she called me weeping with excitement, completely overwhelmed of her emotions. She even said that she hadn't known that life could be so pretty before she had seen it through my eyes (i.e. the book in this case).
So if you want to really move someone and show them how special they are, Snapfish photo books will do the job. Just remember that you can use ready made templates and layouts. But the result is better if you spend some time to work on the final touches.
I ordered some prints online for a collage of family and friends. I have an excellent quality camera and had chosen the pictures with care. The prints however, came out over saturated, blurry and of very substandard quality. One print was also missing from the order, even though it had been paid for. Will never use them again, I can do better quality prints from my cheap printer at home.
I used this website to create a photobook for my partner's birthday using my own black and white pics. I was delighted with the book and it was much better than I expected really. In hindsight, I didn't read the instructions properly as the cover photo appeared again inside plus there was another repeat, but it didn't matter too much as it was just a fun present. I'm thinking I'd like to make some more of these for family and will concentrate a bit harder next time but I thought the quality was excellent for the money. Plus delivery time turnaround was very fast. I've today ordered 5 mugs with pics on, I really like the 'shuffle' function that allows the 15 pics on the mug to change position until you find the right combination - I didn't want the pic of me to be a great big one compared to other people in the family so waited til it was the smallest! Excellent value. 5 Christmas presents sorted in one go too.
Normally I wouldn't write a good review for a company but considering I wasn't expecting much after seeing a number of poor reviews albeit a few years old on the internet, after I'd already ordered from Snapfish & being a tad worried I'm incredibly happy with the service :).
My order was printed on the day I ordered & dispatched the following day, you can't ask for anymore than that. I ordered some custom Christmas cards that came out brilliantly, the only hang up I have is I wasn't made aware the snapfish logo & a small barcode would be visible on the back of the cards when I created/ordered them, that doesn't really bother me though because they look fab.
I took advantage of the free photos with my first order, I was really impressed with the quality they came out so well, wish I'd have understood the cropping question fully at the time, maybe Snapfish could add another clear visual of what they will look like before asking the question of whether you wish to choose a smaller photo set uncropped or the photos cropped but printed on larger at 6" x 4" paper for those with poor understanding like myself lol. Apart from me nitpicking as usual I would thoroughly recommend Snapfish's service.
They ruined my baby's first Christmas. I was so excited when I ordered photocards from them with my newborn baby's pictures. I ordered cards on 3rd December and they processed on 2nd January. Today is 6th January and I still don't have the cards. I can't use them anyway cos my baby will be so different next year. I had to buy and send ordinary Xmas cards just two days before Christmas because they couldn't even let me know when they'd be processed. They sent an e-mail on 10 Dec saying they'd process my order in a few days with plenty of time for Xmas. Estimated delivery date was 10 December and their process+delivery time was 6-10 working days. I'll never use their service again.
After 6 unanswered emails, a customer services superviser who lied about promising to call back on a day she knew she was on annual leave and a still unprocessed order 16days after it should have been delivered. I would never use this company again and have contacted trading standars. I have found this experience even more annoying due to the fact that the order I am waiting for is to replace a photobook that was such poor quality that in some pictures peoples heads had been cropped off and other pictures were so dark you could not make out peoples features. The company are extremely efficient at deducting your bank account - they managed to do this on the day the order was placed but seem incapable of doing anything else. I have been informed that my photobook will be with me by Christmas Eve. I expect it will be delivered by a flying pig.
