Beware fabric change when buying replacement covers!

I have had a sofa and chair ffrom sofasofa for a number of years and recently ordered a new chair cover in the same colour. It arrived different fabric colour and quality, not a match. Tried to replace with a contrasting colour(within 7 days) and was told that the price had gone up and I would need to add another £51! Now have to cover the chair with a throw. Shame as the quality of the build is good but warnings about fabric change should be made when you order online.

Hi Julia, Thanks for the feedback. We're sorry to hear that your new covers didn't match your existing furniture. Unfortunately, with piece-dyed cotton fabrics such as our Madrid it is impossible to guarantee a shade match between our current fabric stock and the fabric used to cover your sofa a few years ago. We try to keep the shade between batches as similar as possible but there is always a certain amount of fluctuation in the dying process, particularly over a number of years.

For this reason we encourage all our customers to ask for fabric samples beforehand if they wish to match to existing furniture.

As a gesture of goodwill we will happily waive delivery charges for your new chair cover if you wish to go ahead and reinstate your order. I understand that the £51 surcharge you were quoted did also include a pair of armcaps - we would never quote £51 to exchange a chair cover!

If you wish to go ahead please contact Natalie Hern, our Aftersales Manager, and we will get your new covers to you in the next few days.
