Excellent service and product just what we wanted
I contacted Dan to have a chat about a sign as I did not want anything exactly as it was on the website. He spent a long time working out just what we wanted and we are absolutely delighted with the finished product. The craftsmanship is excellent and all just right. Added to this, I spoke to and paid Dan on Monday and the sign arrived, beautifully packaged, on Thursday morning. What service! I would have no hesitation in recommending Made in the West Country to anyone!

Customer Service is horrendous
I purchased a plaque for my new home and was sent the wrong shape, when I emailed to let them know and ask for a replacement I was told to post the wrong one back. We are talking 5kg of solid oak. I mentioned that this was going to be rather expensive, had not even asked for them to pay for return and received a very rude email back. I don't feel I asked for the response I got, and mentioned this in a reply, to which I was basically told to return the sign for a full invoice refund and go shop elsewhere!!!
To be honest, I could not believe the situation - I am now left with a sign I didn't want!! with no form of compensation. I was told if I bought a dress from M&S and got it home and it was faulty would I expect them to pay for my petrol!!!!
Need I say more really, I think there is enough there to say i would not recommend them to anyone!!

Not perfect and expensive
For £50 I should not have these two shortcomings.
1. Screw hole diameters (2) far too small. My sign was bolted to metal stakes and required nut and bolt fixing. I had to drill out the screw holes to take even small dia bolts.
2. The front of the sign was varnished thinly but the back of the sign was completely untreated. I had to re-varnish the lot.

Excellent product excellent service
It is always difficult buying off the web - you are never quite sure what you are going to get. In this case, the quality of the product lived up to expectations. It was well packaged and arrived earlier than anticipated. The sign looks great on the wall and really enhances the front of the house.

What an excellent company !!

Finish on wood plaque was poor.
Had to apply two further coats of clear varnish to get a satisfactory finish, as it was t b mounted outside and needed further protection. Wouldnt have lasted long outside in its delivered state

My slate plack looks beautiful outside my home
Having been looking for a slate plack for the front of my house for a number of weeks, I finaly choose Made in the West Country (they were the cheapest I could find online). We found a product on their web site,that was absolutely perfect for Geraldine's birthday. We enquired if it would be delivered on, or before a given date.
