Please be careful with Southall Travel

I booked air tickets through Southall travel couple of times. The experience is really bad. They are completely non transparent and try to extract as much money from you depending on your situation. I think it is far better to book directly through airline webpage or find a better trustworthy travel agent.

Fairly good service but great prices (for Asia)

We have been booking for long with them and have figured that they are cheap for tickets for asian destinations mainly and that works for us as we travel often to Abu Dhabi and Delhi. Have booked September flights with them again last week. We have only faced minor issues with them and nothing big that will stop us using them. Their prices are their main USP but service can be a tad better.

I felt they let me down

I booked a business class flight to India with them and unfortunately one of our connecting flights did not have business class even though we had paid for it. The people that checked us in said we will get a refund for it but when we returned home and tried to get our refund Southall travel did not want to hear from us at all. They tossed us from one department to the next. Took their time like weeks to respond and the still never came back with anything concrete. Even so they did not even respond to my very last mail instead they just continuously threw me the direction of the flight company even though they were more than happy to receive my money when I was booking. I feel as my agent they should have worked out my refund and they let me down. I would NEVER use them again because of how rude and unhelpful they became after I returned from my trip.

very bad customer service

recently inquire for tickets and speak to one guy he is very rude and what they showing on website they saying more than that .and also if we say it showing online that much what they said go to online then . why they are there to be then if we can do online .

Poor Customer Service - Bad Marketing Tactics

I travel once in every 6 months to my home country. I visit various agent websites to get the best offer for my wallet.

During this process I either accept or deny the offers provided by them. It depends on the what they offer. I have bought tickets from most of them at least once. Taking that trust into consideration I have checked Southall Travels website, with a plan to take the flight next weekend (i.e., 10 days to my travel date)

There were many offers and one was a lucrative one giving me a flight in Emirates at a decent price(£465.59). But I cannot buy it online, the website says call 0208 843 6790. Its Extremely limited offer and Subject to Availability. I thought its much better as I can talk to the agent and see for better timings and any other offers. The other websites were offering flights at similar price but a different airlines

However the motivation behind to add this review is something else. As I was saying earlier, I have called the southall travels office. Agent said that offer is not available. OK, whats the next offer, the flight charges are £ 652.00
Do you see how much difference!
I have asked the "What are you saying? your website say £ 465"
Agent Said: That's a website only offer sir
Myself: But the website says to call you guys and you are giving me some other offer which doesnt even match
Agent Said: Sir, you are dialling in very late. You will not get flights if you are booking 1 week before your travel.
Myself: Really!!! There are other companies who are offering similar flights
Agent Said: Then you can go there, please dont to talk to us like that
Myself: Dont give wrong information and misleading the customers

Note: Before calling any flight agent, please do your homework or else you will end up paying more money

I was able to find another company who have offered better flights at 484.

Worst..

Agressive pushy sales staff

Enquired about a flight price with Southall and their sales representative was really agressive and pushy - it felt like I was being bullied into buy through them even though it was an enquiry.

The individuals behaviour was completely unacceptable. I raised a complaint on their website and received a generic automatic response an hour later - Southall clearly do not care about customers or provide a postive customer expereince - it's like a dodgy double glazing salesperson from 20 years ago.

Worst Travel Agent

I asked them to add paid extra baggage allowance, they ask to directly book through the airline, what they of travel agent they are if they can't help the passenger to add extra baggage through them & their management has said, they don’t have any policy to add baggage for customer through them.
When I booked the travel ticket via Southalll travel, they didn't mentioned to me, that Date Change before Departure is not allowed, cancellation before departure not allowed.

They are not at all helpful. In one word Worst travel agent I came across in my entire life.

Avoid this Company no ethics and customer service

Please do avoid this company, they issued the ticked to my parent without the Surname and told me that I need to buy another ticket for £1100, I aready paid £883 for two ticket which they just needed to send the revised ticket with the surname at the Airport counter but instead of that they asked me to buy another new ticket

not sharing right information

I book flight for my wife and my son, they faced lots of difficulties because of sale agent haven't inform us to collect the our baggages at Delhi airport.
I used to trust Southall travel for finding right flight tickets for pleasant journey but they break that trust and my wife is travelling with child and they have faced lots of hassle at Delhi airport with baggages and also they missed the flight. They had waited long hours for next flight to Ahmedabad. I have already paid higher amount and expecting good service but these all happened due to your dirty sale and not sharing right information.

Also agent wants to close his sale quickly so while booking he said I cannot hold the seats so you have to pay now and there are no other seats available.

Guys I will never ever do this mistake again in my life.... Now a days Southall also charges more than what is available in market.

Window shopping cost me 20 gbp more with them. still cheaper!

I was researching for cheap economy class flights for my travel to India. started with southall and received a quote from them. The agent said they have a price match policy whereby they match the price if they cant beat any other agent’s price. I anyway wanted to research more and so contacted few other companies. none of these were able to quote anything cheaper for my dates. next day I contacted southall again to book the fares I found with them. I was shocked to learn that there was no availability of seats on the price they offered initially. the new fare now was some 20 gbp more. surprisingly this was again cheaper than what most others had quoted and I didn’t want to lose these and paid off immediately.wonder how they are able to offer such a price? Lesson learnt: do not go out window shopping (for long atleast) if the first quote is reasonable.

Excellent Service

I used Southall Travel's services on 2 occasions and have been delighted with their service. Provided them with specific dates, flights and hotels which where booked to the exact standard. Both my Maldives and India trips were hassle free. The only 1 comment was with regard to an extra baggage charge the internal airline had which wasn't made clear. Well done I will use ST again.

Very happy to have our Dubai holiday in January extended despite less hopes

We called Southall travel to make some amendments to our holiday to Dubai booked for January 2014. We had booked our holiday a week back and now wanted to extend it from 3 nights to 5 nights at Dar Al Masyaf. Understanding that it’s peak season due to the Dubai shopping festival we were quite pessimistic about the availability. But to our great surprise we received a call from them yesterday confirming the availability. We are all paid up and set for our 5 nights stint with Dubai. Had never thought we would get this confirmed but thanks to Southall that they managed.

Efficient Service

We have booked our package holiday deal for Mauritius with Southall Travel for jan 2014. Everything went smoothly at the time of booking the holiday however we got little concerned after reading some bad reviews for them about their after sales. However all my apprehensions proved futile when on two recent occasions I called them to make some changes to the booking related to flights and hotels. The customer care agent who handled our queries was thoroughly helpful and professional and carried out the changes efficiently. We did not face any issues with them related to after care and infact feel more confident having booked with them. One practice that they follow which leaves no space for any errors is that they would seek your approval in writing before they confirm anything. I found it to be quite transparent way of dealing. While we did incur some costs to make these changes, they all have been as per the terms and conditions.

do not book> ruined my life

I had made a complaint to Southall travels due to there incompetence which caused us to be stranded in our honeymoon and also cost us an additional £1600 to come home. The customer service is basically to ignore and bully you. I have wasted numerous hours on the phone for 6 weeks and they will not resolve or admit to their mistakes. They have also played games with me over the phone and mocked me many times. They also compulsive liars.

Rubbish!

I booked flights to Dubai and was quoted a price online. I then rang up and was quoted the same price. I then requested an aisle seat due to claustrophobia and the price went up by £60. However, I was happy to pay this as it was important to me to sit in the aisle. I was even told my seat number!!!

When I got to the airport no seats had been booked for me on the outbound or return flight. I contacted southall travel on return home to complain and was told that I had not been charged extra even though I could tell them the seats I had been allocated. Rubbish customer service and I feel conned out of my money. I would never use them again!

Ok..But cheaper & better options fr Asia/India tours

Southall Travel is okay if not a great travel agent.. Had booked a Dubai trip via them and it was cool till i figured out the premium they were charging for these trips which is in turn purchased from a local travel agent.

I feel Asia tours are best from Local Sourcing travel agent like Antilog Vacations who not only charge less but are able to help you on the spot since they simply have their people managing the whole show..

Simply put , This sort of Global Outsourcing phenomenon is cheaper & way better than procuring frm any Local UK Based travel agent for that matter..Nothing against southall as these guys r good but then they just cant compete with a local player

AVOID THIS AGENT

Please do not use Southall travel. they override Airline's T's & C's with their own (which always be in favour of them). Once you booked your flight with them, that is it you have to pay around £200 for change of flight (which any airline will do it for free of charge)
Complete rip off. I advised all my friends to avoid this agent (BTW they already did, and advised me not to use southall travel

Terrible service DO NOT USE!!!! - I paid and confirmed tickets for £2500 only to be called back to be told to pay £2800 for different dates which were inconvenient and forced into agreeing or losing my money, was told 3 hours transit, when I checked the itinerary it was more than 8 hours!!! each way. I called and emailed numerous times to complain - Manager never got back to me staff told me I could pay more to change or lump it. NO apologies very augmentative, DO NOT USE this company.

Fantastic holiday in Dubai booked by Southall

We thank southall for the wonderful customer service and assistance in arranging our Dubai Holiday. Our stay at Zabeel was perfectly arranged and we enjoyed it very much. The Villa upgrade which they recommended along with other amenities was welcomed and things turned out to be just as planned. This has been our best stay in Dubai ever and undoubtedly the most memorable too. The resort along with its crew were simply great and very hospitable. I would like to recommend Southall to my family and friends and intend to book with them in future too. I cannot praise them enough for the expertise, knowledge and professionalism which has exceeded my expectations. I would particularly like to thank Vicky who booked our holiday.
