Have just replaced my original cover after an incredible eight years of rain snow winds bird ***

A fantastic long lasting expertly made quality produc,t excellent in every way, from the ladies I spoke to on the initial order and the alert that the product was being despatched to me.
I have two cars protected by Specialised Car Covers, one cover I have just replaced after eight years of the most awful weather, snow, high winds and plenty of rain. The other cover is only just starting to deteriorate and most importantly the cars have not deteriorated either.
They are not the cheapest on the market but over the years of use you get from them they are the most cost effective choice.

Great cover

Cover is spot on makes the other I've seen look like old rags , needed to chase delivery but other wise spot on

Neat, reflective strips could do with upgrading to Scotchlite...

Very neat looking and fitting cover. Only criticism I have is regarding the reflective strips which are 'silvered' rather than 'Scotchlite' which I had expected. A month's lead-time is understandable with anything custom made.

Ordered, Paid & then.....................Nothing!!!!

We ordered a Tow-Pro Elite at £349 on 4th April and apart from an email acknowledgement of our order, we have heard precisely nothing apart from marketing emails intent on getting us to part with still more money.

It is now mid-May, our brand new caravan is to be handed over to us next week, we have a trip booked to go away at the end of May and we have absolutely no idea if we will be able to fit the cover for this trip or not, as we have no indication of a delivery date.

I know the new range of covers is successful, but the customer care is suffering greatly.

The delivery time on the Tow Pro Elites at time of order were 12-16 weeks due to demand so your delivery date is still around 6 weeks away. If this delivery time was not made clear to you at time of purchase i can only apologise as you ordered online i will also speak with the design team to ensure that this information is more clearly stated online. Smart Cover to protect a smart caravan

We were delighted with the service and it fits the caravan showing the lights and looks smart. The only trouble we experienced was on the return journey. Travelling down all was ok, but coming back the zip slipped down. We stopped and adjusted the cover and made sure the zip was back up as high as possible, but by the time we had got back home the zip was about 18 inches down. Any suggestions, hopefully not a continuous problem?

Superb material used for the covers -

Order was hassle-free, efficient and professional - and apart from paying extra to have them send the cover earlier, no account was made for the Bank Holiday weekend - but order arrived and the fit is superb.

I wish I had never bought it !!!

I took the caravan cover off after its first winter to find horror of horrors that there was a green dusty mould on all the top cupboards. I phoned Specialised Covers and after stating the problem to two people was then passed to a Technical person. He was not interested in what I had to say other than to tell me how good this product was and they had allegedly never come across the problem before. As far as I was concerned I wanted to return it for a refund as it failed to perform as promised and consequently is not fit for purpose. I was told they do not have a Returns Policy- Be warned !!! I was on the telephone for 35 minutes and was given no help what-so-ever. I consider he was overbearing , rude and unhelpful and I would never recommend this item to anyone!!!

We are very sorry to hear about the issues you are having with your Caravan and also your experience with dealing with ourselves.

However, we would like to stipulate again we strongly believe that our tailored caravan cover product is not at fault in this instance and that it is 'fit for purpose'. From your description of the problem you have found, the simple fact that there is moisture and subsequent mould damage to the interior of the caravan along the top of your cupboards means there is clearly an issue with the structural integrity of the caravan - be it a hole that has formed or a break in a seal. If this was not the case then there would be no way for moisture to enter the caravan's interior.

The caravan cover is designed to protect a caravan from excessive and dirty rainwater, as well as from the harmful effects from tree sap, acidic bird droppings, frost and detrimental UV damage from the Sun. The caravan cover will always experience 'morning dew' underneath the cover, especially during the winter months. This moisture will eventually evaporate and 'breathe' through the cover throughout the day. Whether you had a cover on or not, it is our view your problem will have taken hold regardless. If anything, the cover could have potentially reduced the effects by preventing excess rainwater from seeping into the caravan and suffering subsequent frost damage.

As there was no damage or signs of mould on the cover itself, we believe the cover is completely satisfactory and fit for purpose. As each cover is manufactured and tailor made just for you, we do not have a returns policy whereby a cover can be returned unless the cover is flawed. If we accept the cover is not fit for purpose then we will offer to either remedy the problem or offer a refund.

If you would like to discuss this matter further we would be more than happy to help you in whatever way we can.

Cover was light, well designed and was easy to get on. Hope it last for long.

The product was perfectly designed, the customer service was excellent, the only concern was it took around 4 weeks.

First class product

We have had a previous cover from a competitor, so when it arrived my wife and I prepared to go outside and put it on. We had ordered a Tow pro + and when we started to put it on I was amazed at how easy it was, I found it so easy to put on alone, and it literally took me 2 minutes! Excellent product, highly recommended.

Outstanding Customer Service

We spent a long time researching the internet looking for a towing cover for our new caravan, a 2013 Elddis Crusader Supersirocco. We chose Specialised Covers and ordered a Tow Pro+. At the time of ordering, there was a really long lead time on dispatch due to the high volume of orders being received, but we felt it would be worth the wait and hoped it would be ready by the time we could collect our new caravan. Last week I could see our order was at the end of the production process and I called them to ask whether it might be delivered in time, as we are collecting our new caravan this Friday. Just had a voicemail to confirm delivery tomorrow, Thursday. I cannot fault the Customer Service Team, they have pulled out all the stops and I will be recommending them to all our caravanning friends. Although we have not seen our towing cover yet, we know it will be worth the wait!

Cover good quality material but the fit is poor and delivery slow.

I ordered a Stormshield Lite motorbike cover from Specialised in early March.
It took over 5 weeks to arrive, despite their web site stating "it can take up to 3-4 weeks".
Also for a "semi-tailored" cover it's a poor fit, the top is not quite wide enough to fit across the handlebars and the bottom doesn't have enough elastic, so unless I attach the straps (pretty fiddly to be honest in the dark) if it's a bit windy the cover blows off.
I've got a Specialised car cover as well which is an excellent fit, so the bike cover is disappointing.

Exceptional Product with First Class service

You will not find a better towing cover on the market, a really good design well thought out using quality materials and so easy to fit. The service from Specialised Covers has been excellent, no problems exporting to Norway. Delivered on time (in fact before the promised delivery date with priority shipping) I would without hesitation recommend Specialised Covers to anyone considering the purchase of a caravan or towing cover. Specialised Covers is a company that can only be described as First Class.

Excellent and easy to use

I purchased a cover for my Swift Challenger 570 which was good, and then fitted the same cover to my new Swift Conqueror 645 twin axle .... again good, in addition I have a fully tailored cover (to include roof mounted aircon unit and satellite dome) ... yes ! another good coming up.
when I was fortunate enough to beat the crowds and get to the front of the queue (due to popularity) at the February NEC show I purchased the Tow Pro elite, I would like to correct the full fitting instructions that came with it and stated that it takes ten minutes and recommends a 2 person fit .... at a barefoot height of 5 feet 9 inches I can fit it on my own in 3 minutes and 47 seconds, it is so easy and simple.
The cost is justified by the protection to my asset and I have now purchased a full range for my towing business.
The Customer service, punctuality and crafts (person) ship is outstanding. Thanks SC.

The perfect tailormade car cover...QUALITY!

We wanted a cover for a Grinnall Scorpian, (a three wheeler..not very many around!!). Spoke to Specialist Car Covers and they said that they cound supply one specially made to fit perfectly, and it does. Customer service wise we mostly dealt with Alex Feather and when the delivery company failed to deliver correctly, he sorted everything out for us very efficiently. The cover is excellent quality, may cost a little more than some others, but you get what you pay for QUALITY. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I can leave the cover in situ when caravan is sited as long as not using a full awning
When cover remains in stu can lower from front window & still access the front (gas) storage box

Arrived quicker than expected

Product seems good quality and is easy to fit. Dries quickly and packs away easily.

Great quality, but not a perfect fit....

A great product, beautifully put together but it does not quite fit.
The front number plate cover is a touch too higher, perhaps it is because the car is a GTI Edition 35 and a slightly different shape.

Superb new cover, Tow-Pro well worth the wait!!

When we saw the new Tow-Pro range at the NEC in February, we knew we had to have on. We have had towing covers on 2 of our previous caravans, but none were as well made as the Tow-Pro.
We ordered ours when we arrived back home and were told there was a waiting time of 3-4 weeks. This did not worry us as we did not intend using the caravan until mid March.
Specialised Covers contacted us in early March informing us they were inundated with order and enquired when we would be needing the cover. We told them we were going away with the caravan on the 19th March and we would like the cover delivered on the 16th if possible. Specialised pulled out the stops and did as promised, the courier DPD even texting us a 1 hour time slot for delivery. Anyway we now have the Tow-Pro cover and it is a superb.
We ensured the front of our caravan was clean and fitted the cover easily within 5 minutes. The cover is a perfect fit, looks really nice. As we keep our caravan at a storage site, it does get quite muddy when we get it out. The Tow-Pro did its job very well and we arrived at our destination with a muddy cover, but the caravan was as clean as a whistle. Considering the cost of replacement caravan windows and damaged panel repairs, the towing cover is a good investment. It's not just about keeping the caravan clean, it's also damage protection too. We have a new 2013 caravan and intend keeping it for a number of years, a Tow-Pro will help us achieve just that.

at last a company that does what it says

recieved the towing cover today and fitted it to the van. Very easy to put on (5 mins) fits like a glove. We will be out on the road at Easter to show it off

Excelent quality, good workmanship, Strong and sturdy.

This caravan cover was of good quality however tricky to put on a long twin axle. The poles bent the first time of trying to put the cover on. Could have done with some instructions as both myself and my husband have never had any dealings with covers before.

Nice cover but expensive and let down by the installation kit - not fit for purpose

We spent a lot of money on our caravan so decided that we would buy a good quality cover to protect our investment. We purchased the cover from the autumn caravan and camping show and were told it would come with an installation kit, which we were pleased about as I am not very tall, so this was a must.

However, we have just opened our nice new cover to find that the 'installation kit' is two short pieces of inch dowel, we were quite unimpressed with this, considering the cost of the cover. I hurt my back whilst struggling to put the cover on using the wooden poles, and had to resort to a step ladder, these wooden poles are just not fit for purpose.

The cover, now on, fits really well, however, we are not looking forward to the next time we have to fit it. We feel quite disappointed with our considered purchase.

Summary - Wasn't happy with a purchase. Posted a negative Trust Pilot review. Was immediately contacted by SC who offered an exchange/upgrade. Polite, professional, courteous and extremely helpful. If considering a purchase from Specialised Covers, do so with the reassurance that they want you to be 100% satisfied. I'm not easily impressed so well done SC.

ANYTHING BUT SPECIAL

Ordered a front tow cover for my Elddis Crusader Tempest recently. Bought it online and filled in the drop down boxes requested for my specific van. What arrived eventually was an ill fitting and difficult cover to put on by one person. It gave no access to my grab handles, it only just covered my front windows let alone the expensive front decals and obscured the front position lights which I'm sure is a legal requirement. To add insult to injury, one week later they sent me an email advertising their new range of front tow covers which actually look fit for purpose. In summary I paid £99 (full price) for an out of date cover which isn't fit for purpose.

I am very sorry that you are disappointed with your specialised cover.

The towing cover you ordered was a universal fitting one and is not tailored to your make and model of caravan. We ask for the caravan details as we are aware of a number of variants where even the universal will not fit so we do this to clarify that the universal is suitable for the caravan. In the description it does high light that the cover is universal and that it is easier to for with two people but not imperative.
I am also sorry that you were unaware of our new product launch. It has been advertised for well over two months in both magazines and on our website that we were launching a new range of Towing Protectors at the Spring caravan show at the NEC. We also talk about it heavily on Caravan Talk to make customers aware of the products launch date.

However as your caravan is a 2012 model i am more than happy for you to return the towing protector to us in its original condition and manufacture our new Tailored Tow Pro for you at an additional charge of £79 as the Tow Pro retail at £179.00. If this is of interest to you please contact katie@specialisedcovers.com to confirm arrangements.

Could be better.

Purchasing experience was fine but as a returning purchaser to SC there are two ways you could help the user of a Stormshield. So let's review the product and not how the transaction was handled.
Firstly, please print the Specialised Covers logo onto the front of the Stormshield - trying to locate the front of 200 square feet of cloth billowing around in a wind at dusk isn't easy. You do so on the Stormshield Light so why not ? (I do know that you stich in a tiny label inside but it's not much use to us)
Secondly, slightly less tight please. It's like trying to get a car into a wet suit the way you've got this set up.
Cost you two product stars.

I am very sorry that you are not happy with your Stormshield Cover.
We do not apply logos to the stormshield covers as it is a different material to the stormshield lite covers. The stormshield fabric is a heavy duty material and is made of 5 layers this material cannot have the extreme heat applied to it that is required to apply the logos. The heat in fact melts the membrane in the centre of the fabric and prevents it from being breathable in that section. It also creates shrinkage in the material as the heat applied simply melts the 5 layers together.

I will pass on your feedback on to manufacturing that the label is not clear enough to indicate the front of the car and that you felt the cover cover was too tight. We do however like to keep the covers very tailored to the body of the car as excessive material can cause damage. The stormshiled material has no stretch ability to it so it can be a tight fit but i will pass your comments on.

My 3rd car cover and my first from specialised covers but by far the best

The best fitting and best quality cover I have ever bought. Also great value for money. The four clips ensure it remains in place in the strongest winds unlike my previous covers.

The 2 tailored covers I purchased from these guys fit like proverbial glove and look great. if you have a car/cars that you want to keep nice, and you keep them in a nice garage , like I do, then they are the real thing to do this. they protect the car, keep it dust free and as said, look super. they kept me informed as to the delivery as well , by text , which is really nice, most important to keep you informed, and they turned up exactly as and when expected. simples !!!!!

Just what I needed!

I am very pleased with the car cover - it fits great.
You could improve on your turnaround time from product order to receipt of the product by the customer. Would have been a five star rating except for this issue.
Apart from that very pleased with the quality of the car cover and the way it fits my car.

Placed me order 21st of dec still waiting I understand it said 4weeks but the money was taken not long after order was placed let's hope it lives up to expectations when I get it

Towing Protector

The item was well received and carries out the function it was purchased for, but, with one reservation. The inside flap of both the top left and right panels comes out from the inside of the main cover when travelling. This has been resolved by attaching a clip on the top left panel between the two existing clips and inboard 5 inches, and on the right top panel between the two existing clips and inboard 5 inches an elasticated strap with clip that stretched between both top panels and keeps them from folding out when travelling.

My experience with Specialised Covers has been brilliant,l needed it for a certain date and they delivered on time.

Caravan cover - Superb fit

Just fitted the cover as it has been the weather improved enough to get the caravan dry. Bit of a struggle at first with so much material piled up at the front of the van but once we started pulling it over the van everything went well. Very impressed that the arial and hot vent cover fittings are in the right place. Once it is all in place it is a very snug fit.

Just a though, we may try putting it on from the back as this will give us more room to lay out the cover. Not sure if there are pole positions for this to happen. It might be something for the manufacturer to think about.
