Superb new cover, Tow-Pro well worth the wait!!

When we saw the new Tow-Pro range at the NEC in February, we knew we had to have on. We have had towing covers on 2 of our previous caravans, but none were as well made as the Tow-Pro.
We ordered ours when we arrived back home and were told there was a waiting time of 3-4 weeks. This did not worry us as we did not intend using the caravan until mid March.
Specialised Covers contacted us in early March informing us they were inundated with order and enquired when we would be needing the cover. We told them we were going away with the caravan on the 19th March and we would like the cover delivered on the 16th if possible. Specialised pulled out the stops and did as promised, the courier DPD even texting us a 1 hour time slot for delivery. Anyway we now have the Tow-Pro cover and it is a superb.
We ensured the front of our caravan was clean and fitted the cover easily within 5 minutes. The cover is a perfect fit, looks really nice. As we keep our caravan at a storage site, it does get quite muddy when we get it out. The Tow-Pro did its job very well and we arrived at our destination with a muddy cover, but the caravan was as clean as a whistle. Considering the cost of replacement caravan windows and damaged panel repairs, the towing cover is a good investment. It's not just about keeping the caravan clean, it's also damage protection too. We have a new 2013 caravan and intend keeping it for a number of years, a Tow-Pro will help us achieve just that.

at last a company that does what it says

recieved the towing cover today and fitted it to the van. Very easy to put on (5 mins) fits like a glove. We will be out on the road at Easter to show it off

Excelent quality, good workmanship, Strong and sturdy.

This caravan cover was of good quality however tricky to put on a long twin axle. The poles bent the first time of trying to put the cover on. Could have done with some instructions as both myself and my husband have never had any dealings with covers before.

Nice cover but expensive and let down by the installation kit - not fit for purpose

We spent a lot of money on our caravan so decided that we would buy a good quality cover to protect our investment. We purchased the cover from the autumn caravan and camping show and were told it would come with an installation kit, which we were pleased about as I am not very tall, so this was a must.

However, we have just opened our nice new cover to find that the 'installation kit' is two short pieces of inch dowel, we were quite unimpressed with this, considering the cost of the cover. I hurt my back whilst struggling to put the cover on using the wooden poles, and had to resort to a step ladder, these wooden poles are just not fit for purpose.

The cover, now on, fits really well, however, we are not looking forward to the next time we have to fit it. We feel quite disappointed with our considered purchase.

Summary - Wasn't happy with a purchase. Posted a negative Trust Pilot review. Was immediately contacted by SC who offered an exchange/upgrade. Polite, professional, courteous and extremely helpful. If considering a purchase from Specialised Covers, do so with the reassurance that they want you to be 100% satisfied. I'm not easily impressed so well done SC.

ANYTHING BUT SPECIAL

Ordered a front tow cover for my Elddis Crusader Tempest recently. Bought it online and filled in the drop down boxes requested for my specific van. What arrived eventually was an ill fitting and difficult cover to put on by one person. It gave no access to my grab handles, it only just covered my front windows let alone the expensive front decals and obscured the front position lights which I'm sure is a legal requirement. To add insult to injury, one week later they sent me an email advertising their new range of front tow covers which actually look fit for purpose. In summary I paid £99 (full price) for an out of date cover which isn't fit for purpose.

I am very sorry that you are disappointed with your specialised cover.

The towing cover you ordered was a universal fitting one and is not tailored to your make and model of caravan. We ask for the caravan details as we are aware of a number of variants where even the universal will not fit so we do this to clarify that the universal is suitable for the caravan. In the description it does high light that the cover is universal and that it is easier to for with two people but not imperative.
I am also sorry that you were unaware of our new product launch. It has been advertised for well over two months in both magazines and on our website that we were launching a new range of Towing Protectors at the Spring caravan show at the NEC. We also talk about it heavily on Caravan Talk to make customers aware of the products launch date.

However as your caravan is a 2012 model i am more than happy for you to return the towing protector to us in its original condition and manufacture our new Tailored Tow Pro for you at an additional charge of £79 as the Tow Pro retail at £179.00. If this is of interest to you please contact katie@specialisedcovers.com to confirm arrangements.

Could be better.

Purchasing experience was fine but as a returning purchaser to SC there are two ways you could help the user of a Stormshield. So let's review the product and not how the transaction was handled.
Firstly, please print the Specialised Covers logo onto the front of the Stormshield - trying to locate the front of 200 square feet of cloth billowing around in a wind at dusk isn't easy. You do so on the Stormshield Light so why not ? (I do know that you stich in a tiny label inside but it's not much use to us)
Secondly, slightly less tight please. It's like trying to get a car into a wet suit the way you've got this set up.
Cost you two product stars.

I am very sorry that you are not happy with your Stormshield Cover.
We do not apply logos to the stormshield covers as it is a different material to the stormshield lite covers. The stormshield fabric is a heavy duty material and is made of 5 layers this material cannot have the extreme heat applied to it that is required to apply the logos. The heat in fact melts the membrane in the centre of the fabric and prevents it from being breathable in that section. It also creates shrinkage in the material as the heat applied simply melts the 5 layers together.

I will pass on your feedback on to manufacturing that the label is not clear enough to indicate the front of the car and that you felt the cover cover was too tight. We do however like to keep the covers very tailored to the body of the car as excessive material can cause damage. The stormshiled material has no stretch ability to it so it can be a tight fit but i will pass your comments on.

My 3rd car cover and my first from specialised covers but by far the best

The best fitting and best quality cover I have ever bought. Also great value for money. The four clips ensure it remains in place in the strongest winds unlike my previous covers.

The 2 tailored covers I purchased from these guys fit like proverbial glove and look great. if you have a car/cars that you want to keep nice, and you keep them in a nice garage , like I do, then they are the real thing to do this. they protect the car, keep it dust free and as said, look super. they kept me informed as to the delivery as well , by text , which is really nice, most important to keep you informed, and they turned up exactly as and when expected. simples !!!!!

Just what I needed!

I am very pleased with the car cover - it fits great.
You could improve on your turnaround time from product order to receipt of the product by the customer. Would have been a five star rating except for this issue.
Apart from that very pleased with the quality of the car cover and the way it fits my car.

Placed me order 21st of dec still waiting I understand it said 4weeks but the money was taken not long after order was placed let's hope it lives up to expectations when I get it

Towing Protector

The item was well received and carries out the function it was purchased for, but, with one reservation. The inside flap of both the top left and right panels comes out from the inside of the main cover when travelling. This has been resolved by attaching a clip on the top left panel between the two existing clips and inboard 5 inches, and on the right top panel between the two existing clips and inboard 5 inches an elasticated strap with clip that stretched between both top panels and keeps them from folding out when travelling.

My experience with Specialised Covers has been brilliant,l needed it for a certain date and they delivered on time.

Caravan cover - Superb fit

Just fitted the cover as it has been the weather improved enough to get the caravan dry. Bit of a struggle at first with so much material piled up at the front of the van but once we started pulling it over the van everything went well. Very impressed that the arial and hot vent cover fittings are in the right place. Once it is all in place it is a very snug fit.

Just a though, we may try putting it on from the back as this will give us more room to lay out the cover. Not sure if there are pole positions for this to happen. It might be something for the manufacturer to think about.

Arrived in time for Christmas

Originally after placing order i was informed delivery was to be in January. Received a telephone call to arrange delivery in time for Christmas. Very efficient and reliable service.

I needed a cover for my elddis aventa,specialised covers where great,delivered on
time as estimated.When it arrived two clips where missing,just one phone call and
both clips and a bag of spare straps arrived two days later.cover fits nice and snug,
i feel happy now its under cover.

Well made and very good quality

Fits the caravan perfectly, very easy to fit but do it when it's not windy or light breeze as you could have an up lifting experience

Not exactly overjoyed by fit

I have now received the cover ordered for my Elddis Oddisey however i am disappointed by the fit of the cover as it is too tight. As asked for iprovided the dimensions as requested together with photographs regarding my comments re overall length(dimensions asked from awning rail to awning rail front to back). the cover would have been a better fit had it been longer by about 2-3 inches. thus allowing the roof section to sit tighter to the caravan roof.

LOOKS GREAT

An excellent product which does full justice to the car.Just a shame that the AstonMartin emblem was not available in embroidery.
The undercover supplied to prevent lint transfer onto the softop is very effective.
This is the second cover I have had and I shall certainly buy from this company again.

The perfect cover.

This is my second cover from Specialised Covers and this one appears to be as good if not better than the first. It's very well made and is ceratinly a lot easier to put on than the last one although you do need at least two people to manage it. You are provided with two poles and there are built in pockets in which you insert them, to pull the cover over the 'van.
The cover itself fits beautifully and certainly protects the van form all degrees of bad weather, without causing scratching or condensationon the inside.
My only criticism is that the door openeing is a really marginal fit and you really have to pull the cover from both sides to get the velgro fastening to meet satisfactorily.
Delivery and back up has been excellent also.

Smart fitted cover with swift delivery.

This cover is made from a good quality fabric. It was quick to put on the cover. We put the cover on with two people. It wasn't so easy to use the poles and slide the cover over from back to front because of the drag created by the cover. It would have been better to have a third/fourth person to help lift the cover off the floor as we pulled it over the top. Overall very happy with this product.

Prestige - Was I conned? Hmm....

I saw the covers at a recent Classic Car Show and then ordered on line, which was really user friendly. Excellent communication, texts and phone calls, leading up to an on time delivery. Fitting instructions were clear and it was simple to put on the car, and fitted perfectly. I was really pleased at this point, then I took the cover off. The black canopy roof on my Porsche Boxster Spyder was covered with bits of red material. I called Specialised Covers first thing Monday morning and spoke to Alex. He sounded surprised and asked for photographs which I duly emailed him. 24 hours later I had to call as I had heard nothing. They had been busy but it was a known issue and he would get back to me. A further 24 hours and now I was impatient. I sent an email demanding a response within 2 hours as the car, having just been valeted, was being used at my wedding in two days and frankly I was embarrassed at the state of it and wanted answers! Alex rang within 30 minutes and said that they could supply a separate cover for the roof section which the main cover would go over. He would get one of the directors to call me as soon as possible. The Chairman was next to call and he promised to get the cover made that day and hopefully delivered the next day along with a lint brush for me to clean the roof with as this would only take a few minutes. It appears I should have been told about the issue when purchasing but as the order was placed on line I'm not sure how this was possible. Why didn't someone call me? All Boxster Spyders have a material roof so it was a safe bet that I would have a problem. Another suggestion was to wash the cover first. Why was this not in the instructions? Why not a warning in the instructions about canopy roofs? The answer is that maybe people would probably not buy the cover if they knew? No offer of a refund (to be fair I didn't ask) or even some partial refund. No, I got a free lint brush that I had to clean my car with!!! The internal cover arrived the next day at 9.am. The brushing took 10 minutes as the roof was really bad. I haven't tried the cover again but will do once back from honeymoon. Not the best experience and I won't recommend them. Sorry guys - you need to change the literature.

When I placed my order on 16th November I was advised the cover would arrive before Christmas which it has (compared to another supplier who quoted higher cost & 9 weeks delivery)
Have fitted it to caravan today and it looks great.

Specialised have got it covered

We were looking for a good quality cover and initially approached another company which we had used on our previous caravan The other company, which we will call company "P", produced a good product or we would not have considered going back to them. I had however always been a little unhappy with how much loose material was left in the cover when it was tensioned with all the straps. To cut a long story short they could not supply for about 10 weeks so we decided to try Specialised.
We are delighted by the fit and quality of the cover which is in my opinion is superior to our previous cover. I know it was my fault for not ordering earlier but for a small fee we were able to order with Specialised and get the cover within two weeks (for £25). In fact it arrived in just over one week which was a bonus as we wanted to get it fitted before the weather turned for the worse. The kit of parts which came with the cover is very good and as we ordered with a green roof and grey sides we got a section of repair material for each colour in case any damage occurs to the cover it is nice to know we are all prepared.
In all, our experience has been excellent with this company and therefore we would recommend them to anyone who asked our opinion. If we need another cover our first port of call will be Specialised, despite the extra for express delivery they were still more competitively priced than their competitors and we had the benefit of being able to choose the side colour which makes the caravan look better in our garden where we keep it.

Second TO None

Easy online ordering, fits like a glove, what you want is what you get, high quality, great price, does exactly what it says on their site. Every time I change my caravan I change my cover, I am now on my fourth van , and you guessed right, I bought another Specialised cover, there is only one cover that I buy and that is a Specialised Cover.
I also have a towing protector for the front, from Specialised covers, what a god send, I travel to France each year and believe you me this is really a great piece of kit to have, I would'nt be seen with out one.
