I booked with Splendia twice: a suite for newlyweds in Barcelona and a comfortable accommodation for a getaway in Florence, and simply was amazed with the hotels collection Splendia has to offer. Carefully selected properties, with beautiful pictures and lots of useful reviews combined with interesting blog, helpful customer service and benefits for club members. Definitely recommended!

I book all my hotels through this website, for business and pleasure and it is always perfect!
First the hotel selection and the picture are excellent and the pictures amazing.
Then the service is always available and you always advantages to book your room there.
I recommand it for everyone!

It is the third time I book an hotel with Splendia and it is from far the best online luxury hotel selection available. Often from hotel pictures to reality there is a quality gap but with this site I have never been disappointed.

Après 4 réservations, rien à redire, les hôtels sont à la hauteur de leur description sur le site (ce qui n est pas toujours le cas). Par contre une vue 360 des chambres serait pas mal ?

Su Splendia ho trovato strutture di ottimo livello, ben presentate e, se potessi permettermelo, sceglierei sempre e solo i loro hotel! Il sito è chiaro da navigare, le foto di presentazione sono molto utili e le strutture descritte nei dettagli.

Splendia is far from a simple hotel ranking, you will be challenged to experience and feel the emotion of travelling across magnificient places all over the world. I love the section "wish you were here", it simply takes me to paradise.

I booked with this website an hotel in Merida ( Mexico) because I got amazed by the selection of the hotels displayed. Now I am also a Club members and after every booking I get Rewards, which is great.
I would reccomend Splendia to anyone, especially for benefits and Club Rewards!

I booked a room in New York one month ago and I've simply been amazed by :
- The quality of the offer : plenty of hotels, in every area of the city.
- The quality of the Splendia's customer service : I booked with an online agent who was really nice, who listened every detail I told him and proposed me the perfect room with all the special services I needed.
So yes, I do recommend this website !!

Contrairement à d'autres sites, je n'ai jamais eu de mauvaises expériences en passant par Splendia. Une sélection d'hotels, d'un trés bonne qualité et un service client à notre écoute. Je recommande, sans hésitation ce site.

Ich habe zwar erst einmal über Splendia.com gebucht, doch kann ich mich nicht beschweren. Zu einem besseren Preis als andere websites angeboten haben, habe ich ein Zimmer im Bryant Park Hotel, NYC gebucht und von Splendia alle Informationen, auch einen Namen der Kontaktperson vom Hotel erhalten, inkl. e-mail-adresse. Vorsichtshalber hab ich dem Hotel gemailt, ob alles mit
der Reservierung glatt lief und hab in kürzester Zeit die Bestätigung vom Bryant Park Hotel direkt erhalten. Angezahlt habe ich an Splendia, den Rest an das Hotel beim Auschecken!
Ich würde wieder über Splendia buchen. Das einzig Negative: die unterschiedlichen Steuern vor Ort, die erst im Nachhinein zum Gesamtbetrag hinzukommen, sollten übersichtlicher ausgewiesen werden, beim Angebot!

Un service efficace que je recommande sans l'ombre d'une hésitation.

I am the victim of Splendia's Bait and Switch policy and fraudulent business practices. I booked a trip with my wife at the Library hotel in Thailand. There were 2 rooms listed, suite and studio. They state on the site-NR rate and in parenthesis non -refundable, however under their Cancellation policies & Fees.
it is CLEARLY STATED FREE OF CHARGE UNTIL A SPECIFIC DATE.

From 18-Mar-12(14h) to 21-Mar-12(14h): 1st night
No-show, from 21-Mar-12: 1st night
Go-show: 100% of the total reservation (applies to 'early departure' when guests stay at least 1 night).
The cancellation policy is applied based on the hotel's local time (GMT+7).
When I went to cancel prior to the dates listed and contrary to the stated policies of the web site I was told it was not possible because after I paid I received a confirmation that this was not refundable. This is direct conflict of Splendia's stated policy on their website FREE OF CHARGE- before one pays.
It is a complete bait and switch, fraud and deception. I spoke to one of their agents in Spain and she even admitted it was confusing.
Confusing is not an excuse for deceiving nor bait and switch.
I have contacted and lodged a compliant with the FTC as well as the Consumer protection agency with the State of Florida.
Splendia answered the compliant to the Consumer protection agency in Florida and to my absolute shock -Splendia falsified their response and returned a different version of their cancellation policies & fees contrary to the clearly evident stated policies on their web site of Free of Charge Cancellation. They deleted this part. Splendia is such a fraudulent company they have tried to deceive investigators from the Consumer protection agency in Dade County. In response Dade County Consumer protection sent Splendia a letter stating their office investigates fraudulent,deceptive practices and all claims falling under the umbrella of false advertising such as misrepresentation ( BAIT and SWITCH).
Splendia clearly states on their site "FREE of Charge to Cancel" as one can clearly see from their site before one pays and there after and when they have your money documentation is emailed to the contrary. More so according to their website -penalties for cancelling are one night...however through Splendia's complete fraudulent business practices they have charged me for the complete stay...NOT JUST ONE NIGHT!
In the strongest terms Splendia needs to be fully investigated by consumer protection agencies for their deceptive and fraudulent business practices. After this investigation they should be fined and forced out of business for their Bait and Switch & fraudulent business practices. More so there is a high probability I will initiate a class action lawsuit against Splendia and invite others violated by Splendia to join.
I am glad this is being posted to Facebook as others will avoid doing any business what so ever with Splendia.

splendia are misleading customers with false claims of extra free nights
They word the ads (and continue to do so by saying they can't change the website) in such a way that it would confuse most people, even though they tell you you are getting 4 nights you only end up with 3 , basically you are receiving 25% less than you are led to believe.
I am disgusted with this company and would urge anyone to think long and hard before using Splendia, there are many honest and reputable companies out there, such as Booking.com, Travelrepublic etc
I will never use this company again. I book holiday and hotels for many people, this is my first experience of Splendia and IT WILL CERTAINLY BE MY LAST

Splendia sent an email that the reservation was not made, credit card was declined. But to our surprise by showing up at the hotel the booking was confirmed!! Without informing (and now we had to pay twice for the room, other reservation was with booking! great company )
So please be careful by trusting them with your credit card and make sure that if a reservation is not confirmed to you by splendia, it does not mean that the reservation is also not confirmed at the hotel!! By asking them what went wrong, it took them 3 days to sent some false email. Great doing business with splendia

I have just spent a few days after my holiday trying to sort out why the deposit I paid to Splendia in advance of my vacation was not shown on my hotel invoice upon check out. Unfortunately the hotel staff were not educated on how Splendia bookings work with regards to the deposit, nor was the accounting department who had to go back and forth a few times to tell me that Splendia keeps the deposit. This all seemed very bizarre to me. When I looked closer, the actual hotel rate was less than what I booked online effectively the entire deposit was deducted in equal portions over the 3 nights. What this means is that 20% deposit that you pay in advance actually is the commission to Splendia. So the customer ends up paying the same amount as advertised, but the deposit does not show on the hotel bill and at first glance you feel ripped off. It didn't help that noone at the hotel could explain what had happened, assuming this must be the case with all Splendia bookings. The other thing was the room at the hotel was the last room on the floor between the elevator and the stairwell. I think if I had booked directly with the hotel, I would not have been given the 'left overs'. I will not book with Splendia in the future.

We had to attend/and or still pay for a Gala Dinner on New Years Eve....Splendia by their own admission failed to inform us of this after we booked through them in May 2010.
I had to go and buy something to wear the day before as we had not taken any formal clothes,there was nowhere else to eat in the Hotel that night and the Gala cost us nearly £200 EACH.Splendia were not interested in rectifying their error.We will never touch that company again.AW

just came back from Vienna! got an amazing hotel with Splendia, great rates and fabulous customer service. i called the hotel directly to put my BF's name on the reservation as well, since he was going to get there earlier than me, no answer. when contacted Splendia, they resolved it with one simple email and we had a fantastic time. Thx Splendia. looking for hotels in Cape Town on Splendia now.
We booked a hotel via Splendia for the first 3 nights of our honeymoon. It was our first experience with Splendia and the website says that it's about luxury resorts. I was really exited because I was looking for something special for our honeymoon.
The hotel: On the website of Splendia there is made a difference in a regular double room, a junior suite and a senior suite. The site clearly says that the bathroom characteristics of this junior suite are omongst others a jacuzzi and multi-jet shower. The room should be about 28m2. We booked this junior suite because we thought that was very romantic for our honeymoon.
When we arrived at the hotel we where given a much smaller room (I guess about 20m2) and a bathroom with a normal shower and without a jacuzzi. When I asked about it at the reception they sayd that they only had 3 rooms with a jacuzzi! That while they also say on the website the senior suites all have a jacuzzi! So if you only have 3 rooms with a jacuzzi than don't mention it as a room charasteristic for a type of room that has more rooms without than with the charasteristic!!! Something is not right about the roominformation they gave.
Also we did get a payment receipt from the hotel when we payed the price for a Junior Suite which was 33% more expensive than the regular double room. On the payment receipt is written that we stayed in a double room!
I explained to Splendia what had happened. They contacted the hotel about it, but they believe everything the hotel says (that there are also junior suites without a jacuzzi (or multi-jet shower) but with a normal shower), really weak because on their website it's very clear that we should have had another room from the room description than the room we had in the hotel. And the hotel is surely right about the fact that not every junior suite has a jacuzzi, in fact I think it's possible that only the senior suites do actually have a jacuzzi. But from the roominformation they placed on the website you might reasonnably expect as a customer that you do get a more luxcurious room than a regular double room.
I found it really disappointing. I will never book with Splendia again. I think the organization sucks! They should fight for the customers rights but they don't. They say that the hotels are responsible for the information which they place on their website and in that case they should claim the hotels that give wrong information.
Splendia only say that they will give a discount of 10% of my next stay. I don't think that it compensates for the situation at hand. I explained to them that if they would give the 10% discount on the stay we had at the hotel where we had our honeymoon I would be satisfied, but that is something they won't give me. Do they actually think that I would book at their website again and make use of the 10% discount? I do'n think so. I had better experiences with other websites which don't claim to be "luxurious"

Splendia refers to the first part, while I refer to the last part. If a jacuzzi is not the charasteristic of the bathroom of a Junior Suite, than don't put it there. If it is the choice between a jacuzzi or a shower you do expect a multi-jet shower in the room and not a normal shower, because that is one of the bathroom characteristics.
I was just about to book with Splendia when I came accross its reviews. I searched and found out that it would be much cheaper if you book directly with the hotel. More or less, you save a little less than $50.00/night
It took me four months for Splendia to credit back my deposit given they did not notify the hotel my deposit was already paid in advance to them. months of calling, emailing and complaining finally to my deposit back. I now hear of other friends who have used this service and have been overcharged as well as well and not able to get their deposit returned! These practices are unacceptable and I will never use this company again!

The hotel in Sicily (actually Lipari), that we booked through Splendia three months before our holiday, was overbooked when we arrived and we were moved to another hotel. We were not offered any compensation, despite our complaints, for the holiday because we were told that we were accomodated in a hotel of a similar standard. However it didnt' have any of the things that we had booked the orginal hotel for i.e. infiinty pool, great view of the bay and wifi in all rooms.
Beware that Splendia is not an ABTA or ATOL registered company and they are based in Hong Kong it seems, so your chances of getting any recompense from them should your holiday not meet your expectations are very slim indeed.
Splendia maintain that when you book through them your contract is in fact with the hotel - they are just the middle men - and therefore any complaint you have must be addressed directly with the hotel. It's not a stance that I particularly warm to and it seems to absolve them of any responsibility.
