I was looking for an extended laptop warranty and when looking through google I noticed they were selling policies through multiple websites.
Amazon were listing the particular one I wanted for approx £169 including Accidental Damage. Another website listed the EXACT same policy for £133 and it gave me the option to purchase it.
I contacted Squaretrade to find out what was going on to be told 'That policy is exclusive to products bought on that site' despite all the T&C's and info NOT saying that what so ever (I mean it has the option to add the indivudual policy to your basket and completely pay for it/arrange delivery!). I asked if they could match the price as it seemed a bit unfair to pay £40ish for the same thing?
They went away for approx a day or so to look into and came back to say 'Nope, you have to go to the other site and buy the more expensive one', I was informed if I didn't despite the policies being identical in wording/coverage when I came to claim they'd reject it and just refund my money (but wouldn't do this UNTIL I needed to claim).
It seems like they've got a pretty decent scam going on there, they try to make out that the amazon cover can be bought to cover products bought from anywhere (at a higher cost) but the one from the other website ONLY covers items bought on that site (despite not saying this and the cover being identical).
If this is how the company operates i'm quite glad I never took cover out with them... I expected more considering all these 'glowing reports' which in fairness appear to be fake. Hundreds and hundreds of people saying how fantastic they are with perhaps 1 or 2 bad ones thrown in there which when you read them seem far more realistic.
All in all a let down, instead of doing the right thing and merely going 'Yes we'll match it' they dug their heels in, wasted my time and theirs and lost a customer. I was more than happy to buy the policy at the time but why should I pay £40 extra for the same thing, they even tried to make out the policies were different and there was 'less coverage' which is simply not the case.
Someone is telling fibs and no one can justify why the cheaper policy cannot be bought other than the reason they want you to buy the identical more expensive one.
Rang the help line & spoke to helpful staff, they explained how things worked .
with in 2 days my tablet was picked up & payment made couple days later. Excellent service I have bought another tablet & once again Purchased the warranty :)
Excellent customer service from Squaretrade. Very friendly and efficient staff who went that extra mile when courier company did not contact me. Unfortunately the tablet was not repairable but very quick refund paid out to me. Thank you.
My claim was dealt with quicker than expected, I was kept up to date every step of the say, there were no hassles, and no long winded forms to fill out. I didn't even need to call as I did the claim myself online, which only took a few minutes. Exceptional value for money !
I was expecting to be on the phone for hours when I made my claim and to have to answer lots of question, but everything was sorted with a 5 minute phone call.
Squaretrade were unable to repair my faulty printer, so instead refunded the full original purchase amount. This was offered straight away and there was no delay in refunding the money.
My TV got broken, an engineer come to pick it up to be repaired in no time. After 10 days I got a call from a Squaretrade representative to inform me that due to some complications the TV would have taken more than a month to be repaired. Squaretrade offered to pay back the fee of my warranty if I was prepared to wait or alternatively they would have given me back the money I paid for the TV. I chose the latter as I was not prepared to wait. In 3 days I had the money back in my bank account.
Super customer service and not problems throughout the process. What can I say if not the best warranty that you can take on!!
Just could not believe how friendly the whole procedure was. Not transferred half way around the world to find the person you needed to speak to. My claim for my Media Streamer that stopped working was handled by an understanding and polite young lady. She made the whole process so easy and settled the claim without any hassle. Her instructions were clear and precise and it was a delight to speak with a well trained and sympathetic member of staff.
It makes such a pleasant change to be dealt with so professionally.

My son broke his birthday gift (a tablet) not long after getting it. Squaretrade arranged for it to be picked up from my home and as it was not fixable, refunded the full cost. A new tablet was purchased and the birthday boy is happy and considerably more careful!. Smooth, easy, no hassle service. Will happily use them again and would recommend to others - the cost is very reasonable for what you get and I could not have replaced the tablet without it.

it was looked at but was unrepairable so they reimbursed me I was so thankfull that
I had took out the insurance with square trade
Sadly when my Micro music system broke down and decided to stop working, i rang up square trade and they delt with the situation within 15 minutes. As the product was too big for shipping which would have have been expensive, they issued me with a full refund 2 days after, enabling me to go ahead and purchase a replacement. They were really quick, and friendly. Glad i decided to go with them.
When the camera I purchased off Ebay stopped working, (11 months earlier), I remembered I took out a Square Trade policy along with it. To be honest, I didn't expect for the cost of the premium other than lots of excuses as to why they didn't need to pay out. I was soooooooooo wrong! Firstly, I spoke with a lovely lady who actually sounded like she 'enjoyed' her job' and made opening up a claim incredibly easy - she did all the work for me except for me sending a confirmation email. Secondly, the courier was arranged without any fuss - the camera was collected and thirdly, I received the amount of the camera plus postage costs in my Paypal account. From start to finish, I had my money back within 2 weeks.
Completely hassle and form free with the added extra of genuinely nice staff to deal with. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Square Trade policy on future Ebay purchases and would highly recommend them to all. High praise indeed from someone who was completely sceptical prior to having dealings with them. It's a 5* policy and a 5* service!!!!!
the fan broke in my laptop I contacted square trade and my claim was dealt with and laptop fixed in 3 days I like the fact that i can use my own computer fixer and I had my refund within 2days of getting my laptop fixed I would give this company 10 out of 10 and when it comes up for renewal I will definately use them again . P.s this is the second time I have had to claim and no problems whatsoever

My phone broke after 6 months. Samsung wouldn't fix it. SquareTrade to the rescue! They arranged a UPS pick up, and within 3 days I received the full purchase price of my mobile since they couldn't fix it. Thank you SquareTrade! I will definitely get another one for my new phone!
I had an issue with a BluRay / Freeview recorder. I took out a Squaretrade warranty with this item. It became faulty so after some confusion with the manufactures warranty Square Trader had a no quibble approach and refunded me my money efficiently and in good time. The agent on the phone was very helpful and understanding. I've regained some faith in human kind, you don't see decent-ness' like this anymore! Thank You
i put a claim in for my cctv security system. i bought the system back in 2011 and thought i might get the value of one camera back through the insurance. i got in touch with squaretrade they filled in the forms over the phone and they arranged for a courier to pick up the complete system . 7 days later i had the complete amount of money what i paid refunded back into my bank. i highly recomend this company as the service was a1 and the people were very courtious on the phone.
my ipod was accidently put in washing machine! This item was covered by square trade. I got in touch and was immediately contacted. Unfortunately I missed the courier which was sent for collection which caused a delay but on contacting square trade this was rectified.
My only moan is apparently my cover ceased with the old item and for my replacement I would have to take out new cover which I thought a bit unfair

When you're buying technology for children, accidental cover is essential, I've found. My nine-year-old daughter's tablet got broken 'while charging'. It was 'on the bed' while she was at school and she came back and found it 'like that'!
That didn't flummox SquareTrade and I'm very happy to have another tablet on order after the speedy payment arrived in my bank account.

Unfortunately we had an accident with our TV and had to make a claim.
Square trade were BRILLIANT throughout the entire process and we are very pleased with the outcome, which was a full refund for the TV.
Very polite and friendly staff made the entire process really straightforward and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
I have complete faith with squaretrade the experience i received was second to none,No problems with payout,received the address label quickly ,In fact i had no problems at all.So very happy with the out come.It was the first time i used squaretrade, and i will use them again.
I might sound like an infomercial but my experience with Square Trade has been easy and stress free for me. All it took is one phone call to explain the faults i was experiencing and the claim was approved, I got my address label and sent my camera to them and I had the option of crediting my amazon account (where I purchased it from initially) or money back into my account. The money came through fairly quickly, which meant I could afford to buy my new camera in time for an event.
I'd highly recommend Square Trade on your purchases, there's no strings attached.

I belive Sqauretrade will listen to you,as they did me =) They were most helpfull ie, what the problem is with your item/see if it can be fixed or reward you the total you paid for it..! They sure,kept their promise.
In the mean time,told me to safely bubblewrap up my item.They then,arranged for someone to collect it. Then item gets tested. Later they informed me, a couple of weeks- a pay out. I was pleased with the result.
Every one should get a warrant-for most items.!
Like my self; No-one like's to throw away money on items;that no longer works. So i say; Its"better to be safe then sorry..!
I would highly recommend Squaretrade to anyone who wants to cover electrical or photographic equipment. I purchased a 10"EPAD tablet second hand almost a year ago and a few weeks ago it wouldn't turn on and I was so glad I had taken out a warranty when I purchased it. I contacted Squaretrade and spoke to a very helpful and friendly lady who explained the process to me, a label with postage free was sent out to me by email for me to forward my tablet to the technical department. When I was told they were paying out on my tablet I purchased a new one and now today after having received my refund I have purchased a 2 year warranty including accidental damage for my new tablet because you can never be too careful when it comes to portable electrical goods. This will give me peace of mind while carrying my tablet outside. Thank you Suaretrade!
I was really delighted to see the claim process gone through so smoothly. Very caring customer service lady who I spoke to, did explain the process (in easy to understand, non technical terms) for claims.
Did received my money back today (sent to my paypal account). Surely looking forward to buy another IP Camera and of course the warranty from Squaretrade.
I would highly recommend everyone to buy this as its so useful (as my IP Camera only stopped working in 20 days passed manufacturer warranty!!!)
The dealings with Squaretrade were excellent they picked the product by courier and this was very efficient. I was informed that the product was not repairable due to the high cost or unavailability of parts. They quickly decided to simply reimburse me the remaining value of my warranty instead of the repair which I had been told on the initial phone call.
I was quickly reimburse via PayPal and was very pleased at how quickly this all happened. A very good service all round very pleased indeed
I took out a warranty on a used printer and the process to register the thing is very easy. The only thing I would change is that the process when you claim can get slightly muddled if you do it through .com rather than .co.uk. Still doesn't take a star away though as they're very friendly when you speak with them.
I bought a pair of headphones from Amazon and purchased a 3 year warranty from SquareTrade with them.
After a year the headphones went faulty, so I contacted SquareTrade and after a 15 minute phone call they decided to refund the original cost of the headphones and even delivery.
I printed out a postage label and sent my headphones back to them.
After a couple of weeks I received my refund via my chosen method of an Amazon Gift Voucher.
I called SquareTrade on the 9th Jan and received my voucer via e-mail on the 29th Jan.
Very happy with their service, and when I bought another pair of headphones I also purchased another warranty from SquareTrade.
I took out insureance for my Canon 550D camera as it was very expensive. The cost of the warranty was fair for what it covered so I thought it was worth the investment.
After two years the camera was damaged beyond repair in a fire. I didnt think this would be covered under accidental damage but I called them anyway to find out. They couldnt have been anymore helpful and understanding. They make the whole process very simple and paid out in full so I can now replace the camera. Thanks Squaretrade!
