Happy Customer!!
I struggled to find a starter motor for my Opel Astra GTC Cdti in South Africa, nobody seemed to have stock.
I came across the Starter Motor Company via Web search for the part number, and contacted them.
They were nothing but helpful, and I managed to import from the UK for a third of the price it cost to get it through the dealer in SA.
Delivery was quick and painless.

Better service than a six-star hotel
In my quest for a starter motor I came across this company by accident. Being a pure novice in the game of 'Hunt the Part Number' I ended up making at least three phone calls. At all times the staff were friendly, understanding, and helpful. They could teach many large companies a thing or two about customer relations. Give them all a Gold Star!

First Class Service
Needed an alternator for my Chrysler Voyager and already knew there were a few different examples. I telephoned the starter motor team to check correct fitment and then ordered online. Very helpful customer service, ordered the item late Thursday afternoon and received it before 9.00 Friday morning! Amazing delivery service and just what I needed with the car off the road. Well done to them and a big thanks from me.
Oh, and the important bit! It was the right part, all ancillaries included and its working fine.

Excellent Service & Price
The Alternator was the best price I could find on the net. Delivered the next day. Sadly seemed to have a fault, but replacement sent out immediately. Replacement showed same symptom, seems it's not compatible with the VW engine in my Mitsubishi Grandis. No problem though, company refunded the purchase and collected the unwanted units. A real shame! First rate customer service though. Highly recommended.

Speed of service impressive. I had ordered the same alternator from a different company but my fan belt did not fit it and surprisingly I was told it should no other explanation! Sorry, i don't speack eanglish well, but your product is perfect. I used it on Volvo Penta 2003T on my boat and it is smaller , liighter then the older one. The motor start in 3sec.

I inadvertently ordered the wrong alternator for my FTO, it arrived within 24 hours, made a call and had the correct one delivered and wrong one collected 'again' within 24 hours, all postage was free of charge.

Rubbish!
I ordered an alternator for a Mazda Bongo which should be and is advertised as 90A. After fitting it I realised that on the label it states 80A so I wrote to complain. I received an email from their technical bod who didn't appear to know what he was talking about and said that although it states 80A it will produce alot more than that (what utter rubbish!) Everyone knows that an 80A alternator is an 80A alternator! Although they did offer to refund my money if I sent it back (at my cost!) they didn't offer any other compensation for the fact that I didn't get what i had paid for. I notice that the website still states that this alternator is 90A. Buyer beware! I have notified all other Bongo owners via the forums.

Firstly, I am sorry this customer was not satisfied with our product or advice.
Mazda bongo diesel engines have a couple of options of alternator, all of which have identical fitments, but come in 80 and 90 amp versions. Our supplier only supplies us with the 90amp model (which we can identify through its larger frame and wider diameter stator), so that we can cover both the 90amp and less powerful 80amp alternator.
There will be labels on these units for both amperages and it seems that our customer was inadvertently given one with an 80amp label.
We directed our customers attention to the computerised test printout that would have been in the box supplied with the unit and which corresponds directly to the specific alternator in that box. This printout shows clearly that the alternator does indeed meet and exceed the specifications (we are happy to supply the printout on request).
We have every confidence in our products, which is why we are happy to supply them all with a 12 month guarantee.
We hope this answers any questions and reassures any potential future customers about this product.

Excellent service and prices
I ordered an alternator from The Starter Motor and Alternator Company, it was dispatched within an hour and arrived 2 days later, exactly as they said. Unfortunately it was faulty but a single email had them responding quickly and helpfully, a replacement was sent immediately and the faulty one collected without any additional cost to me, and without any argument from them. Sometimes mistakes happen and a piece of equipment is faulty but its how a company deals with problems that makes them stand out from the rest.My issue was dealt with very quickly, professionally, and with courtesy.
I'm happy to recommend them to everyone and would use them again myself if needed.

Ordered an alternator for my Citroen C3, 3 days later it arrived, at my home. And home in this case is Denmark, very good price, everything perfect, i can only recommend the company. Though the freight rate, was a bit expensive. Other UK companies ship to Denmark, at about the half price. But never the less, it´s still good prices, in total.

Speedy Helpful CORRECT parts suplied
Service was friedly and helpful, the communication and speed of delivery was excellent, indeed they phoned to confirm that i had ordered the correct startermotor as there were two similar ones, i had in fact ordered the incorrect one and they gave me a courtosy call which then meant that thanks to them i had the correct one sent out!
All in all an excellent sernce, great focus on the customers and as i said brilliant customer service and communication! Thank you, i was back on the road very swiftly thanks to them.

Cost of this at eurocarparts was BOSCH £174. 00 + £108.00 surcharge or Lucas @ £155.94 + £78.00 surcharge

I live in Bucharest - Romania and I was looking for 2 months for a specific alternator for my Opel GTC 1.3 CDTI.
None of the stores in my country was able to get me the part and the official Opel dealers had outrageous high prices.
I placed the order on Friday, had confirmed the model including detailed photos of the part to be delivered and next week on Thursday I had the alternator on my car.

80% cheaper than Porsche, same part ( Bosch )
Ordered Monday over phone at 2.45pm, arrived next morning by 9.00am !! same part Bosch refurb unit is priced at Porsche at 644 + vat, or other suppliers local to me at 289 + vat, here it was 120 plus vat !!!! a true bargain, and excellant customer service, you cant beat this lot..

100% correct parts supplied which was a gamble sending this order across the other side of the world to me here on Norfolk Island. All efforts with dimensions were made to ensure the correct starter motor was supplied, and that it was... The confusing part of this exercise was the picture from your website that you emailed to me was not the correct picture of the starter that was sent.
