Been a customer since 2005 upto 2009 when things went pear-shaped with this company, but, gave them another go last week by purchasing a go-clever gpstv tablet, what a pile of garbage, won't boot, no contact numbers for them anywhere, complaint started with paypal 3 days ago & still they have not contacted me by mail or phone or via paypal, AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE, they are GARBAGE !!!
Ordered a tablet came on the 11 June Faulty when tried to charge it up.
Contacted them via their contact us page as there is NO Phone number or e mail address, It's now 15th June and still no response from them, I have now instigated a dispute with pay pal, very disappointed with SVP
Ordered and paid for goods at midday as company offer to dispatch all stock goods the same day if purchased prior to 3pm.
Goods were not dispatched on that day, or the following day.
No telephone to contact customer service.
Total waste of time. Will go back to my existing supplier from now on.
Nothing to complain about. Kept you up to date with where your parcel was. arrived on time. No complains. will use again!
I buy from SVP every 6 months or so and have used them for about 8 years now. They always have a great range of Disks and often they have a few other fun items that are worth buying for the family (usb drives etc). They always seem to deliver on time and the products are well packed too. I have encountered one delivery problem with them, but to their credit they even resolved that problem by delivering the correct item the next morning. Top customer service in my books.
If you want to buy from a company that has no contact details listed on their Web site (breaking the UK distance selling law) - go ahead, but if something goes wrong, you will be left with never-answered contact forms.
Spam is the real issue as well. Once you buy, you become life-time reader of endless promotional email with NO options to unsubscribe (breaking another law, but do they care?).
I was recommended to use this company around 7 years ago and I was amazed that you could get printer ink so cheap. Gone are the days when I get ripped off at PC World for my 6 single Epson cartridges, they sell budget cartridges with as good coverage for around 20% of the price of the "genuine" ones. Their product range is excellent and their service second to none. If only all companies operated this way! SVP are highly recommended to anyone with a computer because all you need for the electronic media experience is here.
SVP used to be a reasonably small company, but it worked well, you saw what goods they had, you ordered them, they had real-time stock control so you knew what was actaully going to turn up, and in general it did, the next day.
I used to order from SVP on a weekly basis, sometimes more, but in the past year their poor stock control, faulty item and appalling delivery has meant I have had to look elsewhere.
Sometimes things go wrong, sometimes company changes causes teething problems, but in this case there would have to be a dramatic difference before I would use them again.
I have been shopping with SVP since they were a small concern based in Devon with friendly staff who were available by phone. These days they have gotten way too big for their boots and forgotten who has given them their success, ie, their customers.
I bought some carpy discs from them just over a year ago, as it had lifetime guarantee printed on them I didn't figure I needed to open them right up and get burning. Shame, obviously I should have. Not one of these so call Zerodefex discs will burn. Every single one of them has failed.
so I use their less than satisfactory service to tell them about it.
First I get a reply indicating I should muck around with the firmware on my burner (already done, but not really something you should just be suggesting to who knows who as lots of people are NO WAY pc savvy and could kill their burner). Having answered that they told me to complete the returns procedure, but wow after just over a year there is none. Doesn't matter if a product has a lifetime guarantee, because clearly SVP believe a lifetime is lived in one year.
I complain to this effect, and get a message back on their system that they are sending me out new discs from the warehouse. RESULT I thought.
Sadly, no, NO DISCS, no replies to further messages asking where these 'as soon as possible' replacement discs will be arriving. In short. NO CUSTOMER SATISFACTION.
DO NOT SHOP WITH THESE PEOPLE unless you want frustration and headaches.
This site was fantastic, & as a long time customer I went nowhere else, however this years experience is dire. I simply cannot get any customer service reply from them by email. And there is no phone number anymore. If I do not get my goods eventually from them as ordered via paypal.. I shall go through a legal procedure to gain recompense. I shall never use this company again. They have gone down the pan! Company suicide.. they must be mad!
SVP have fallen so far its now a case of when will it be sold off again, the bloke I spoke to (help section) Chris was the most off hand person I have ever dealt with, I ordered through paypal without logging into the SVP site, they associated this with my works account (same email) but denied this and said I logged in No I didn’t but they also sent it to another person at my works address who had ordered in the past of them??? When I pointed this out they said I had put his name in??????? again WHY WOULD I. one of the cases was broken on delivery so it was returned, only to be sent to the same person as before, again I complained and asked for the works account to be closed so it would not associate with my account, they said I quote "for government legislation we cannot close your account for 7 years" yes you can but you keep the records for 6 years! anyway they changed the password and said that would do it, I now have the batch of DVDs in this order have turned out faulty and emailed on my account explaining I couldn’t log it as the other account is locked out, Chris emailed back saying basically he is doing me a favour this time and I should have known better, my reply was I will bin these disks and take the loss rather than deal with this company again, I then went to another site and got the disks cheaper with free delivery , it was just I have been with them for over 4 years and feel they have badly let me and my workplace down with this attitude.
I ordered a hard drive paid for next day delivery
The Hard drive was delivered the next day but faulty came in clear plastic container,in a jiffy bag inside a box with no other pacling and room to move about.
No phone number to contact like you use to, so in the end I got them to phone me, My order was still showing picking.
I contacted them the following Monday about my delivery of a replacement HD.
This was there reply
I confirm that we have received your faulty item.
I have arranged a replacement to be despatched today.
You should receive it shortly.
It did not arrive the next day I contacted them again
Thank you for your message.
I have received a tracking number for your replacement item -xxxxxxx.
Arrangements were made yesterday but the item will be despatched today.
You should receive by tomorrow.
I told them I paid for next day delivery and it was'nt my fault it the first drive was faulty
I would like a refund I dont want the drive

We are using the third party company to ship the goods and they had probably a good reason why it was not despatched yesteday.
Once again we are sorry for your inconvenience.
Again I ask for a refund I dont want it now I will go to a shop if I have problems I can get it sorted the same day.
The item is already on its way. I am unable to stop it at this point.
You should receive the replacement by tomorrow.
SVP have got bigger but not better, they dont care no more and you cant leave any reviews on there site now I wonder why.
This will be the last order they get from Us.
I have been using SVP for over 4 years now, I rated them so well that I never even looked elsewhere for blank media and other things.
I guess if nothing goes wrong with your order then they are still fine but if you do have problems then they are now one of the worst companies I have ever had to deal with.
They now have NO PHONE CONTACT - as soon as a company don't want to be contacted by phone then that should send out a warning to customers!
I contacted them nearly 4 weeks ago now about a return (a product they sent me with major parts missing) and I have still not got a refund or replacement.
Having been in contact with various members of staff they seem unable to answer simple questions and have now stopped responding at all.
Oh, and you can forget about getting any joy from emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
It's a shame to see a good company go down the drain but I do not expect to see SVP around much longer if they treat all customers as bad as me.
I will be contacting my credit card company on Monday to claim off them as I have had no joy at all with SVP.
Obviously, I will never order from them again!
An SVP customer of 6 years plus... I purchased an underwater camcorder in August 2008. The hinges lost thier tightness after 3 weeks so it was returned under warranty and I was promised a fix by a company apparently authorised to fix by the manufacturers.
I explained that I needed the camcorder back within 3 weeks as we were attending an important family event.
We took the camcorder on our honeymoon last month as we were going snorkelling.
The first day in the water the camera died... no power whatsoever. We thought it might be a battery issue so on returning to the hotel and trying to change the battery water poured from the inside of the camcorder.
So, honeymoon ruined as we had NO camcorder for the whole 3 weeks I return and expect at least some customer service but I am advised this is a 'common fault' and I can get a refund *if* I return the item at MY cost... and they will not refund the postage....
DO NOT USE SVP ... cheap prices but AWFUL customer service... terrible quality and the third party warranty company DK Audio are even worse.
I have escalated to Watchdog/Trading Standards.
I wouldn't recommend them to anyone now. Compared to how they used to be the service is diabolical...
