Bad Service. Darren the sales rep conned my elderly mother.
Terrible service. False information and extra charges added to my elderly mothers insurance. We got varying quotes for a cancelation with no explanation why. I am sure most of what they say is just made up at the time. I would not use them again ever. Read the other reviews on here. I am surprised there is not more.

Bad service
I used money supermarket to search for car insurance and Swinton came out one of the cheapest however when I went to buy on there screen the price came out more expensive. After numerous phone calls, sending e-mails and being on hold for an eternity they said they could not do for the price advertised as when they took all my details over the phone again because I had not owned my car for more than a year there would be a higher risk of me having an accident!!! - what a load of nonsense. However I could not be bothered to go through the hassle of re-quoting I went ahead. Part of the deal which made them cheaper was that they offered £50 cashback but they fail to list or tell you that this takes 3months to come and again after numerous phone calls chasing up where it was.
Avoid this company.

Disgraceful Experience
I had to take an insurance policy with them for my car but only wanted it for a while rather than a full 12 month term & asked how much it would be if i later decided to cancel my policy & was assured on the phone that it would be no more than a standard £50 cancellation fee but about a month later when I came to cancel my policy, they tried clobbering me with a £136.50 fee instead! I informed them that the agreed fee was £50 & that a verbal agreement was a legally binding contract between two parties & they said "I've never heard of that before" & "I don't think your correct". Anyway, its a long story but suffice to say I had the last laugh :)
Anyway, I wouldnt recommend Swinton to anyone!
