I ordered grocery from Tesco website for first time and the time i gave for delivery was 1-2pm but I received my order between 5-6 pm because driver was running late. I asked the driver if he was walking from warehouse to my home, he was totally red and would have punched me. I ordered 12kg bag of Tilda rice and I am damn sure that it is not the original tilda rice as none of the stores in world does 12 kg bags of Tilda. That day, I finalised that I will never order from Tesco grocery again in my life. Because of so late delivery and fake items.
Dear Sir/Madam,
My order had been confirmed and money taken out of my account in full.I was due my order between 2-4 pm on the 7th may. By 4.30 i phoned customer services to be told she would ring the driver (whils i was on hold) to which there was no answer from driver. She informed me she would keep trying the driver and get back too me (which i heard nothing back.!)As it got to 8pm i was worried, our shopping was not going to arrive. We are on benefits, and therfore have no spare money what so ever. i had no food it except bread and so had to sent my daughters 7 and 10 too bed with 2 slices of toast, in which i felt awful (that was there tea) .This was so upsetting, not having food which you have rightly paid for.
Its now 8pm so i ring back .com, to be told the driver had now gone home (i was told it was stange as there was no accident or breakdown recorded ) which would have been easier to accept then just not bothering .He then apparently arrived back in store a little later with our shopping .
I then asked to speak to a manager at which i was told he would give £35 worth of e-vouchers to take off this order we were due, as he had put the order through once again of his system between 8-10am the following morning. I was told to go back through my orders on .com and to apply my e-vouchers so the balance outstanding would therefore be £10.06. This i then did to no avail as my bank account was now empty as tesco.com had taken the money allready so thefore could not confirm order to reduce balance. As i stated i had no spare money!.I then phoned.com back (which is also costing me.) To be told that because my account was now empty this wouldnt be possible. So now i am back too square1.
As i will never shop with .com again after this disaster , i did not want the e-vouchers taking off my next shop ,i wanted the money off the shop that was due!
I was told the driver had said he knocked at our door and there was no answer, which is a lie as we firstly have a camera too prove he never came to the door and so do our neighbours . (which is 100% proof this member off staff is a liar) My daughter husband and mother was in the house all day with myself .
We aggreed with Sarah(manager) to go into store in blackpool as this is where our shopping is, to collect, and speak too Mike norbury (manager). So i had too put my mother out to take us all the way down ther too sort it (also costing in petrol!)
We arrived at the store at 12pm, after taking daughter too doctors. We asked for Mike Norbury too which he came too see us. I had too explain the whole situation once again to Mr Mike Norbury. He kept telling us to just take our shopping and use the e-vouchers off our next shop as there was nothing else he could do. I had already told him we will NEVER shop with them again so to refund me the money into bank, too which he said he couldnt do from store? I said as a good will gesture we should be given the shopping for nothing as all the hassle k,kids going without tea, petrol money, phone call and the sheer stress off the stress and frustration in which he smirked!! He said he made a phone call too head office and has refunded the shopping too our bank accound this he did by store after telling us this was not something he could do. This i was told will take 3-5 days too show in bank . ( i just hope it arrives )... This was then fine i said and made my way to husband where he and a member off teso staff were putting in the back of my mums car. My husband then went too find my mum instore as she had got bored off sitting in car,as it was all taking ages.. He came across Mr mike Norbury talking with another member off staff clearly slagging us off for having our shopping for nothing. he was going too approach mr Mike Norbury in store ,but i adviced too come away and complain to head office.
I then got home to unpack my shopping to be disapointed once again these are the reasons why?.
1.coleslaw all over one of the bags,
2. 2 lettuces with yesterdays date on them, ( the date we orriginally ordered)
3. missing cheese,
4.squashed bread,
5.steak that had so much fat through it i feel it was only fit for my dog,
I am greatly disapointed and un neverd as to how this is possible from a massive store as yorselves . i want this sorting asap...

Where do I begin? Firstly, I wish I had seen this site before making my purchase for a well needed and comfortable new king size divan bed as I would not have gone to Tesco Direct! We decided to treat ourselves as we have never had a decent bed in 20 years of marriage and purchased our divan set from Tesco, the site said there would be a 14 day wait which we accepted as it is a large item to organise, supply and deliver. 14 days came and went ...I was busy with home and work and decided not to hassle Tesco as I had a lot on that week. I eventually received a text to choose a day for delivery, which I did, I took the first slot available, this now meant Tesco had had 550 of our hard earnt, saved up for money for the 4th week without any delivery being made. I received my text message from DSV to say the delivery driver would ring me between 7am-9am on the Wednesday to tell me the estimated time for delivery that day. I received no phone call, so at 11am I rang Tesco to confirm my item would definitely be delivered that day, they said it would be and I will be receiving a phone call from DSV Delivery with a time. I got the phone call but to tell me my delivery was cancelled for Wednesday but will come on the Friday instead. I have wasted a Holiday day taken from work but do any of them care! Friday came, my 2nd holiday day from work, and I got my phone call from the driver to say our bed would arrive after 2pm. They arrived, as I was watching them out of the window I see them open the back of their lorry. and stand debating and in discussion for some minutes before knocking on my door. I just knew their was a problem, gut feeling, not trusting any of these organisations any more, I knew I would have to inspect and make sure our bed was as ordered. The mattress came in with no details attached to it at all, no name, no address and a large tear in the plastic covering, it had clearly been opened before. The divan base was as it should be, with my details attached to the two sections to put together. The mattress was not the mattress we had ordered, it was a well known cheaper one. After a couple of phone calls to his depot the delivery guys took the mattress away with them and left the divan bases only. I have just had a week of phoning Tesco to find out where our mattress is. Me calling them most of the time, 4 times a day some days just to hassle them into sorting this mess out and Im now fed up with sleeping on the floor as we had got rid of our old bed frame because we thought we be getting a new bed delivered. We could not use the bases or unpackage them as I had a feeling they would be going back. Tesco have said our mattress was sent by the supplier (slumberland) but seems to have disappeared between supply and delivery. I will have to wait another 3 weeks for our mattress as they are made to order!!! I get a refund and ask for the bases to be returned. I waited 2 days for DSV to call regarding the collection of these bases, Tesco said DSV would call within 24 hrs! We are in week 6 now from our original purchase, This will mean another holiday day has to be taken next Wednesday for me to wait in for DSV to collect, 3 days gone from my holiday leave, wasted because no-one knows what the other is doing, thats if they turn up when they say they will to collect the base! You think they would show some urgency in collecting the bed base as I have had such an awful service all round and told them its already nearly fallen on my 7 year old daughter! If they do not turn up to collect when they say they will the bases will be put outside in the rain and if anybody receives a rain soaked divan base you know where it has come from. These are all big organisations, you would expect better surely, none of them seem to know their a*** from their elbow in all honestly. Tesco said I would be compensated, money off vouchers maybe? Thats no good because I shall not be shopping at Tesco again. Im still waiting to hear back from them about this, its a waiting game all round!!!
I have recently been diagnosed with celiac disease and it is hard to find gluten free options in a supermarket at the best of times. Since my diagnosis I have been travelling to Tesco Extra Cardiff as I felt they had the best range of gluten free food. On my last shop I purchased free from produce over a week out of date and it wasn't until returning home that I realised. It is terrible that a complete lack of care is taken over checking and maintaining the gluten free section, had this section been a gluten containing product from the bakery I am sure this would not of happened. I find it disgusting that they claim to cater for people suffering with celiac however clearly don't care about the products which they are selling. It has been five days since reporting this to their customer services and I am yet to get a response let alone an apology. I advise any gluten free customers to check the dates carefully when purchasing produce or shop at another supermarket where more care is taken.
Tesco are a bad company my sister went in and a guy pushed her over and no one done anything she hit here head and no one done anything
So, I started my phone contract with Tesco Mobile in Nov 2011 for 24 months. Granted, I got a Blackberry which isn't the best of brands. So inevitably, my phone broke very recently. Went into the Tesco store today, they told me that as I have no insurance, there's nothing they can do. Better yet...we can't even cancel the contract!! So I've got to carry on paying the contract (£27.50) a month for a phone i can't even use. The word theft comes to mind! Can't wait to come out of this contract, NEVER AGAIN!!
Theftco opened their store a while back in our little town, complete with petrol station. We used to have 3 other stations, but Theftco started selling their petrol at a loss, so everyone bought their petrol there. Needless to say, the three other stations went out of business very quickly and closed, at which point Theftco bumped their prices right up. If there is such a thing is truly evil corporate greed, it's these scum. They'll happily rape your town to keep their shareholders happy. Wish I could give less than one star.

I have used the online grocery service for a long time and I have never had a major problem. There are more minor things they could improve, like the subsitution procedure and giving too little/too many bags, but I will continue to use so long as the service remains this good!
I recently purchased a Tesco kettle and a Kenwood food processor from the store based in Brentford, near Grant Way.
On exiting the premises, I was stopped by one of the security guards and was accused of stealing. I immediately produced the purchase receipt to show him, but he was not convinced and continued to harass me. He asked me to tell him the prices on the receipt, and also told me to open the boxes.
I believe I was also racially profiled for being a young asian man.
I would like to point out that legally, after a valid receipt has been produced, that should have been the end of the matter, as I can't defend myself further beyond that point.
This was a very embarrassing moment for me and I am considering suing for defamation of character, as it happened close to where I worked and many people witnessed the incident. I believe it painted me in a negative light.
I'm completely ticked off with this. My brother ordered a Xmas present for my daughter and the expected delivery date is almost 1 week ago. I can't get details from Hermes, because their website gives minimal info. I can't ring or email them because they don't make it possible; I can't talk to a human at Tesco because their system hangs up on you! and even lodging this complaint with them won't work because for that my password won't work!!! NEVER AGAIN with Tesco!!
Just wasted over an hour of my life adding items to my shopping cart only to find that when i went to complete order, my delivery slot had been taken.
I am well aware of the 2 hour delivery slot hold time, but i was well within that. It would usually take me around the same time to choose these items in a shop, however this time my shopping cart was deleted.
This has happened to me before but i was willing to put it down to some sort of interupted internet connection. I'm pretty sure that I will not bother trying to do this again even though I have been a loyal customer of yours for the past 15 years.
not happy. very hungry
Wednesday, bought a cheese and coleslaw sandwich from my local store. 6 hours later (Ate nothing else in between) BANG food poisoning. Returned the empty packaging to Customer Service desk this morning, you guessed it, they couldn't care less!

I have been internet grocery shopping with Tesco for several years now. I shop 52 weeks of the year with them. I was expecting to get christmas priority booking , as I had done last year, BUT because I pay weekly for my delivery charge & not 3 months in advance( giving them interest on my money) I am not entitled to this. Despite complaining, they would not budge. So now I am taking my custom to Sainsburys & hope anyone else in this position does the same.
I've used Tesco Direct and it is next to useless. I pre-ordered some software that arrived well after its street release date. Customer Services were unable to tell me exactly when it would arrive after I phoned up as apparently it wasn't tracked. Very useful.
Furthermore, I've just finished talking to 3 separate people about my pre-order for a Wii U which I ordered through Tesco entertainment. The problem is, I want to cancel this pre-order, but the website no longer exists as it has been merged into Tesco Direct - where my pre-order information is not linked to my account. Apparently you have to call 'Customer Services'. Unfortunately even though I have the pre-order confirmation email and order number in front of me no-one at Tesco Direct can seem to find it to cancel it for me.
Absolutely useless.
I thought Very.co.uk were bad but they shine like a diamond in a turd compared these jokers.
I have just tried Tescos shop and scan. Pack as you go around the store and keep track of what you are spending, including all the special offers. Handset prompts you if it is a multibuy offer. It takes the hassle out of packing at the till. The most relaxing shop I have done in a long time, thanks Tesco!

The store has to be number * 1 *
and now they have teamed up with 02, with tesco phones
a step forward for both retailers,
Where can I start? From the Tesco in Chelmsford (Princes Road) I have been sold a sandwich 1 day past it's use by date (illegal), fruit nuggets 6 (yes 6) months past their best before date, and a bag of snacks 5 (yes 5) months past their bb date. Whilst selling past the best before date isn't illegal, I would have thought 5 and 6 months was extreme by any standards? I didn't realise you had to go round and study every date on every product just because Tescos can't check their stock properly. I complained both in store, and when I got no response there (even though I was promised one) I tried the helpline in Scotland. Was promised a reply, and none ever came. Tesco just don't care what the customer thinks. They also refuse to honour their own price promise when they overcharge you. And you wonder how many other people they have ripped off (who didn't notice the overcharge) They are losing customers by the lorryload. and I hope they lose a lot more. Asda is far cheaper anyway.
on having a problem with my first online order i made a huge blunder calling their 0844 number , on getting my phone bill i was shocked to see that i was being charge £3. 80p for one call to them,it was my first and will certainly be my last, NO WONDER THEIR PROFITS ARE DROPPING LIKE A LEAD BALLOON, MAYBE THEY ARE CLAWING SOME BACK BY SCAMMING THEIR CUSTOMERS, ASDA HERE I COME
I like buying at my local tesco becuase i know where the stuff is, not the best quality products (like M&S) but for the money you pay you get decent stuff.
I do agree with the Tesco customer on Trust Pilot who said they've never had a pleasant experience in Tesco. I'd add to that view by saying the customer service ethic is awful. I wonder if Tesco are a bad employer to work for as quite a few of the staff seem grumpy and unhelpful and they are not worried about being rude to customers. I won't go in a Tesco store any more.
Anyone can give less for less money. There is no value in Tesco and no respect for customers. It is a pure money grabbing operation. And I know someone who chauffeured the Directors. My wife discovered an item on her till receipt that she did not buy. The store manager made her wait standing at customer services for over an hour while he went and checked CCTV which happened to show she never entered the aisle with the expensive product she had been charged for was stocked. A refund with no hint of apology followed. Every little hurts as this monster forces smaller shops off the high street and makes other supermarkets drag their values and quality down to compete with Tesco's base levels.
You ask for bags you dont get any?
You ask for substitutions you dont get any?
Much easier to go to shop and do it yourself.
this supermarket is a nightmare to try and get a delivery from, they won't sort out the simple fact that they deliver down the road to us, but not to our house. Even though they pass it!
That what Tesco used to be. Truly, it is now back to its origins. Look for the 'bargain buys' style buy one for £1.50 2 for £3.00, bigger packs: lesser value, grown in the UK vegetables via imported sources, and carbon 'bigfoot' print style products your clubcard points will acquire. Less is more, helps very little...

My wife has just come back from shopping at Tescos.
Glad to see all the vegetables she bought were "grown in UK"
However the Rasberries were not and she had to pay more for Asparagus grown in UK than for similar item flown in from South America.
Why?
I got a new pair of shoes last week worn them once and they fell apart so i took then back to the havent store the manager was very ride and refused to give me my money back she could not resell them again, which of course she cant resell them they fell apart.Better custmer service needed
Sadly the website can sometimes have issues such as not allowing payment and ?
The website such as buying items can be a real pain , Tesco is a brilliant company and i love them but it is just as easy to go to a store than using the website. Needs a major renovation i think.
I love Tesco - delivery drivers are always friendly and up for a chat, helpful, rarely get a grumpy one! If they're ever late, customer service is super helpful and usually deals with any problems immediately.
I've been using the delivery service for 3 years now, had a few problems along the way but all have been dealt with promptly, and I feel like a valued customer because of this.
No I'm not a Tesco employee, just a super satisfied customer :)
Thankyou Tesco Poole! And Customer Service!
I live in Thailand and I frequently see packaged meat/fish items past their sell-by date. I have raised this question with the Thai staff and their response is basically 'well do not buy it then'!! Apparently the Thai staff here in Pattaya have been told by Tesco Management to re-package out of date foods and this is well reported in the Thailand Forums we have over here. It would be very interesting to see what Tesco UK have to say about the Thai practices in their Thailand retail outlets. I have also read that this sort of practice is being carried out in their stores in the UK. I, for one, would now no longer consider buying myh shopping under their name be it here in Thailand or in the UK.
Doesnt Evan what they say... Ended up exchanging vouchers worth £55to buy goods worth less than £50
Was good but has slipped down slightly. Seem to temporarily "unstock" items which have money off coupons issued on them.
I never thought i be righting a review like this about Tesco as i worked for Sir Cohen and only just retired so Tesco as been my life from boy to man .My experience over my last two occasion has been a nightmare and unless you go via H.O customer service is a thing of the past.
The 1st occasion was on line via the new hub in Enfield placed 2 orders and it was canceled no email or phone call ,when i contacted H.O I was told it was refused so they arranged to be delivered again the following Monday in three slots ,2 arrived but 3rd one refused again H.O forgot to tell them the order number so they would look out for it.The other thing was when they refused the very fist orders they never delivered but still took the £1,100.00 out of my bank.
Next time we decided to go to the store in which it was so noticeable how much the staff looked unhappy, grumpy needless to say customer service was out of the window.I REALLY hope this is just a blip because a lot of staff have achieved so much over the years, getting them from 5th to 1st retailer
We have had two "upgrades" to our nearest Tesco, and each time it has got bigger. It is now unlikely that I will "pop in" for a few things, as it takes too long to go round the shop.
Unless I defintely need stuff that only Tesco (or other similar large supermarket) sells, then I no longer shop in these huge shops, it just takes too long, and tires me out before I am half way through my shopping.
So slow to order web site often logs you out before your order has finished, thus the time taken to order has gone to waste and your booked slot has also gone
