Credit where credit is due

I have ordered from this company around ten times in the last year and every time it’s been excellent service. Items are always well packaged and arriving without any issue. Their website is always up to date with product stock so you know if what you are ordering is available. They also hold a great rage of stock with other shops do not seem to offer.

They also use one of the best courier company’s around who are willing to leave items in a safe place if requested (you just need to enter this in the note on checkout), this is handy for me as working 9-5 and not being at home when they deliver I do not have to make a 40 mile round trip at the weekend to the courier depot.

Be sure to try their own “Di and Danny's Golden Ale Beer Kit” its amazing!!! One of the best kits I have done.

10/10 for The Home Brew Shop from me, keep up the good work guys.

Poor packing leading do damaged goods

Ordered a lot of tins of malt, sugar, cleaner etc which can be quite heavy . When the box arrived it was almost destroyed. The box was a flimsy construction and all the items had just been thrown in the box with very little packaging. This had lead to all the tins being dented but the big problem was that the cleaner had split open, covering everything.

I phoned up and to their credit are sending me a new tub of VWP although the person on the phone could have been a bit more sympathetic after my spending 30 mins cleaning down the order as well as my kitchen.

Hello, Very sorry about your split damaged sterliser, this does happen from time to time with the carriers.
Which is why we have sent you a replacment.
Sorry the sterliser covered the rest of your goods.
Your goods will be fine, just rinse them under running water

we always try and pack the parcels the best we can.
We cant pack 1 beer kit in a box as that be too expensive your box was not too heavy approx 12kgs. Again once a parcel leaves us, its in the hands of the carriers
we have no control how they handle the parcels. 95% of the time we use double walled boxes

We have found one of our carriers damages more parcels then the other, so we are leaving them, and moving to a new carrier next week, which i hope will help with the damaged items

Years of Good Service

Having recently discovered Trustpilot, I thought I'd write a few reviews of Suppliers I've been using. I was amazed to read the negative review from 'toni' in Manchester (have to say, a bit difficult to understand very well - toni , your grammar and spelling need a bit of attention to say the least !!). I've been ordering from The Home Brew Shop for years, previously in Wiltshire, and now in Wales. Never had a problem, super service, and always fast delivery. Also - brilliant free delivery over a certain spend, despite often very heavy parcels which must cost a fair bit.

i ordered i simple funnle and cloth OMG took 10 days from ordering 7/8 days from dispatch i order from the brew store in scotland it gets here in 3 days so i have a question how much have u paid the previous reviewers to say ur delivery is in 2 days.

Sorry I think you are blaming the wrong company, try Royal Mail as 1st class parcels can take up to 10 days to be delivered. We do state 2 - 5 workings days average for parcels to be delivered on our Web site and which you agreed to and your order was delivered within the 2-5 working days WEEKENDS do not count as working day.
Your Parcel was sent on Monday and sent 1st CLASS You ordered on Saturday and your parcel was sent out on the Monday, the 1st working day of the week and the 1st working day AFTER you placed the order, mail order is not processed on Saturday or Sundays, and it was there for sent on Monday.
As your order was a small box under 1kg it was sent with Royal Mail. Royal mail do have a habit of NOT carding addresses and holding onto the parcels that don't fit through letter boxes.
THIS is nothing to do with us but Royal Mail, Before you say they don't THEY do we send out over 300 small packets a week under 1kg and now and then we do have a few that take a few days longer then they should do sorry we don't run the Royal Mail and is out of our hands.
WE do state on the web site ONCE a parcel has left us its in the hands of the delivery company this you agreed to in the Terms and conditions and did not even bother contacting us about the delivery of your parcel. Apart from a Email on the Monday following your order on the Saturday asking where the parcel was and we said it be going out today.

We don't have to pay anyone for reviews about our service, we been trading for 42 years for a reason. We rely on good customer service and with the amount of orders we process YES a few will be delayed and have problems. But we can only help those customers that connect us about a problem. Which is why we are here to help if we are contacted with the problems, which is why we don't hide phone numbers or email address on our web site, WE also include a GUIDE for problems with each order

Better than expectations (again)

Order on 26 Dec (bank holiday)
27 Dec (bank holiday)
29 Dec email saying delivery today between 1 & 2 pm
29 Dec delivered (20 mins late).

Golly, I've had some issues with deliveries this Christmas - but not with these people. Knowing when the delivery is due is really helpful (this was emailed from their courier DPD).

we try not before, but sometimes we come unstuck with out of stocks, but not often

Great customer service.... unlike a certain Essex competitor

Website a little clunky but everything is great. Ordering, payment and delivery process all quick and first class.
Unlike so many competitors you get an answer if you e-mail about an order. They even publish a phone number!
Will be making a visit to the shop soon, think I will be like a pig in $%£?.

Excellent products, service and quality

After browsing the many homebrew shops online this one has got to be the best one there is. The selection of products available is astounding and even if an item is out of stock it seems to get replenished quickly enough. The delivery is top notch also, even when living in the North East delivery takes between 1 - 3 days and the well packaged parcel ensures a safe and secure delivery.

Prices tend to be cheaper from The Home Brew Shop also, only by a few pence but when buying many items you can save a few pounds.

A company who deliver 100% service every time.

I've ordered from the Home Brew Shop about a dozen times in the last 18 months. I've never been less than completely satisfied with their service. They always deliver within 3 days and on quite a few occasions I have had the order delivered the next day. I don't look anywhere else for my home brew supplies now.

Top drawer supplier

I have been using The Home Brew Shop for internet based purchased for about six years. Their delivery is always prompt and I have been very happy with their service and the variety of products availble on their website. I would heartily recommend them.

The only home brew shop you need

Ordered plenty of times, not all 100% perfect, some cans dented, but that's mail order it happens and happens with all companies, Had one order with a wrong item, but a phone call to the home brew shop, had the correct item the next day that's customer service

This is my first time ordering from the Home Brew Shop and I was fairly happy with the website, the price, and the timeliness of the delivery. The condition of the products that were delivered however was very disappointing. Even though the box had 'fragile' written all over it, it was dinged and punctured, with white powder (which turned out to be brewing sugar) leaking out the bottom. Upon opening the box the contents were a mess - covered in sugar from a punctured half-empty sugar bag.
The packaging was not adequate and the sharper cans should have been properly separated from the more fragile items which they could puncture. From the state of the box the delivery method should also have been a bit ‘gentler’ to give the contents a fighting chance.
Will be looking for a refund on the sugar.

Thank you for your comments, Pitty you have not contacted us about this matter
We include a leaflet explaining what to do if there is problems in with the deliveries in all our parcels.
This would of said Please take a photo of the damage, and we would of acted upon the infomation to sort out the problem.
The problem is the parcel was damaged by DPD, which if the parcel was leaking, why accept the parcel ?

Mail order is mail order damages can and will always happen. We are here to sort out the problems, that is what customer service is all about, but you not even contacted us so how can we solve a problem we dont know about

Ordered on line without any problems as with 3 previous orders.Delivery was within 3 days and I consider the service to be excellent.

The Home Brew Shop is the cheapest place I have found on the Net. Delivery has always been quick and correct and the nchoice of stuff is fantastic. I recommend it to anyone I know.

Great products, with great service makes a great company!

Every order placed was dispatched quickly and delivered even quicker. Ingredients & kits have all had good dates. Damaged items were dealt with swiftly, replaced super quick and hassle free.

There are some suppliers very slightly cheaper, but the great service has easily kept my business.

Only suggestion for website improvement would be a review facility for the products. As a newbie I found this VERY useful, but had to look at the reviews on other sites. This in no way spoilt my experience though!!

Made my christmas.

Decided to try a spirit base fermentation ten days before christmas. I had never brewed this before only beer. Came across the" how to " page on HBS and decided to give it a try. With some deliveries, I had, that particular week taken 10 days to arrive,I was hoping for a new years day brew. It was bottled for christmas day, thanks to HBS. Also, compared to a lot of other H.B. shops ,pricing is good.Keep doing what your doing.
