Been looking for a chesterfield for a long time , saw this company on the net and desided to drive down from Glasgow . Well worth the trip , everyone that comes in my house comments on the beautiful suite and how well made it looks . Would definately recommend .
Great range of products made to order in Great Britain. Great customer service keeping you updated on your order. My sofas are a unique design in a super soft leather.
The delivery team are excellent almost magically getting large items effortlessly in to your desired room and placing where you want until you are entirely happy.
Very well made furniture and good leather....however somewhat lacking on comfort. The seating position with the cushion option we went with is too high (my wife is 5 ft 7 and her feet don't touch the ground when seated!). Given the price, I have to say I am somewhat disappointed as whilst they are good looking....comfort is everything.
Really awful experience to be honest. It started really well. Ordering was easy and the sales person was really helpful. But after that it was terrible. We actually thought they had gone bust at one point (or were just about too) and our money was gone. I had to call and call, they didn't return calls after we ordered (they did occasionally), but it was only when I got so sick of being fobbed off and said I was going to cancel the order if it was not delivered by Friday and low and behold it was. Nice Sofa, but poor experience.
It can be difficult to find a BLACK Chesterfield but I did and it was well-worth the search. I am delighted the the finished product, which was delivered 2 weeks early.
Superb workmanship, at a competetive price. Browse round their showroom at your leisure (no hard sell) and when you re decided you will find the sales staff very helpful.
1. The final invoice was emailed for the full amount omitting the £250 deposit we paid. Clarified with a phone call.
2. Email received stating chair was with the courier, we heard nothing for two weeks. Only following my phone calls to the chesterfield co. to chase up progress did I get a call from the courier. Chair received 3 weeks after original email.
3. Seat cushion velcro securing flap became detached after a few hours use. An appointment with a repair company was quickly arranged. The flap was re fixed with the appropriate number of staples.
As anyone would be ordering something so expensive online without ever having actually seen the product with their own eyes, we were slightly apprehensive. When the sofa arrived-we need not have had any concerns. The delivery men knew exactly what they were doing and the sofa arrived in perfect condition. I would not hesitate recommending this company.
It was my first time buying from this company and everything went according to plan. The delivery came a day early and the company was very good at keeping me up to date with when the delivery would take place.

I found the service of the Chesterfield company fantastic. It was one of the best sites I have used and, as I am disabled and use the computer to shop most times I am quite an authority on this. The Chesterfield company were always on hand for any queries I had. My e.mails were always answered promptly and with courtesy as well as kindness. In the end it was like talking to a friend. The two sofa's I ordered are very comfortable and look great. Luxury and comfort what more could I want. Highly recommend a five star service.
I received my leather monks chair and checked over as suggested.it seemed ok.
A few weeks later when I was giving it a leather wax I found three splits where
the studs are knocked In on top of the chair.
When contacting Chesterfield they said it must have been me who done it,
and they were not interested.
I purchased on the Internet a wingback chair which was delivered within 6 weeks.
I was impressed by the product,the service and the carrier who delivered the chair.
Everything was as promised on the order form and also punctual. I shall be ordering again soon and recommend this company without any reservations.
I recently had the opportunity to purchase replacement furniture due a a flood that we had suffered, I instinctively chose to get a new sofa & Captains chair from The Chesterfield Company, From the initial contact right through to delivery the staff were very knowledgeable & helpful, All calls were answered professionally & all questions answered quickly, The quality of the furniture is second to none & for the price it beats the "mainstream" furniture suppliers such as DFS hands down, None of the other mainstream furniture suppliers could or would be able to deliver such high quality furniture for the same price as we paid, neither would their customer service skills be close to the level of what we received at The Chesterfield Company, From the start to the very end I was kept in the loop & I have no problems with highly recommending The Chesterfield Company to any of my friends or relatives - In fact I have already done so, I will be ordering some more furniture from The Chesterfield Company in the future & can not praise them enough, From the initial sales person right through to the delivery driver, the service and courteousness was second to none.
The staff were helpful whenever I contacted them to find out about delivery times. They do take a while to build the sofa and dispatch it, however it is well worth the wait as we now have a lovely quality sofa. I would definitely recommend them to my friends as it is such good value.
We found that we were having to do all of the chasing regarding delivery and when they said that delivery people would contact us they didn't and again we had to chase Chesterfiield. Found this very frustrating. Chair quality is good.
The leather I chose; vintage analine, is the nicest leather I have seen , the sofa is gorgeous. There was a small fault on the piping, the staff could not have been more helpful, they had it picked up, mended , and returned it very quickly, and all in the week before christmas.
The staff are very friendly and a pleasure to deal with , I ordered on the phone, the brochure is fantastic, and the sofa delivered on time by a very good delivery team. All in all, a very friendly company.
From requesting leather samples to taking delivery of the sofa the process was stress free and easy. I absolutely love my new sofa thank you, thank you!
staff are friendly and helpful and not pushy at all! I travelled a fair distance and was seen without an appointment. I had described what I wanted and the salesman disappeared and came back with exactly the leather I was looking for which wasn't one of the samples I was sent. he explained fully the options.
questions and queries to the manager were answered promptly and she was also very helpful.
finally the delivery company used were also excellent, delivered in time, sofas were well and truly packaged for transit, staff were friendly and took away all the packaging!

We ordered by telephone after looking at the website and receiving some leather samples. It took a few days to receive an acknowledgment of order by email ( infact I had to telephone to ask where it was ). About 4 weeks later I received an email to inform me that the goods were ready and that a member of the sales team would telephone to advise me of the delivery date and collect the balance (50%) of money due. After hearing nothing from them after a week, I again rang them. I was informed that they could not give me a delivery date until they received full payment, to which I replied that surely they can give a date and then I would happily pay. There seemed to be a bit of a stand off situation here. Anyway later that day they rang back and gave me a date that my 3 Seat Sofa Bed and Armchair would would be delivered, but it might actually be sooner. A few days later a very pleasant chap rang me from the carrier ( Edmundson & Son ) and gave me a day and time slot for my delivery. The goods were delivered at the time stated by 2 very helpful gentlemen. The Lancaster Sofa Bed and Armchair are well made and the leather is of excellent quality and I am sure will last for many years to come. Unfortunately the whole experience was let down by slow communication and rather unfriendly sales staff.
Although there was not much inter-action or correspondence between the Co. and ourselves; we ordered, they confirmed, took the payment and gave us a delivery date and time, they delivered. The suite is absolutely beautiful and so comfortable and they did what they said they would do - no frills, no after sales, job done!
I went into the Chesterfield Sofa Company factory in Salford where I was able to view a variety of suites and different grades of leather. I was greeted by very friendly people who managed the factory. The manager was very knowledgeable with regard to style and durability of the furniture. I received excellent advice about choosing the suite and it was delivered within the time scale suggested at time of order. I am very pleased with my furniture

When the chairs arrived, the castors and legs that I had chosen specifically with the sales staff as 'the same as the ones on the website' were nothing like. To make matters worse, I reported this by email and had no response, i then tried again and was told basically that in the small print - the style could change. This was conveyed quite rudely to me and I don't generally take offence.

This is quite simply the worst company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with.
After 5 months and 3 failed delivery attempts they then tried to charge us £215 delivery charges. The chain of events went like this:
- 23rd May 2012 - Ordered sofa
- 2nd July 2012 - Sofa was delivered and placed in our living room. We then noticed a huge scuff on the corner of the sofa. We contacted the Chesterfield Company and about a week later they picked it up to take it back to repair the damaged panels.
- 5th September 2012 - Sofa arrives for the second time. However, the delivery driver informs us there is a huge scrape on the side of it as it wasn't loaded on to the truck correctly. The sofa isn't even unloaded from the truck and is returned again.
28th September 2012 - Sofa arrives for the third time. One driver doesn't even get out of the truck and the other comes and requests that we sign a waiver to say if they damage it on the way we will take responsibility (why should be sign a waiver to mitigate their negligence?!). So given their track record we refused and contacted the Chesterfield Company who said that didn't sign the waiver we would need to pay £215 delivery charges. Their reason was that "it doesn't fit in our house". When I mentioned that the sofa was previously sitting in our living room for a week the reason then changed to that the "sofa doesn't fit without getting damaged". This is also strange as we live in an old Georgian style building with vaulted ceilings, wide doors and no tight corners. We thought about signing the waiver as the delivery driver said there was only a 1% chance of them damaging it. We went to look at the sofa in the truck before signing it and surprise surprise it was damaged again. It now had scuffs on the arm. When we pointed this out to the Chesterfield company they said "The scuffs are inherent to the leather". This is also strange as the arm was never previously damaged so shouldn't have been repaired and the scuffs were not there the previous times they tried to deliver the sofa.
We checked our access before and after the failed delivery and this served as proof that there should not have been a problem getting the sofa into our house. This is something none of the delivery drivers thought of doing. We mentioned this to the Chesterfield Company but they were not interested.
In the end we refused the delivery as it was damaged (not that they were going to deliver it without us signing a waiver anyway!) and returned a third time. The Chesterfield company refunded us for the sofa minus £215 for their third failed delivery.
We went to trading standards who after hearing the chain of events and seeing pictures of all 3 damaged sofas were "Shocked" by the companies actions and requested they refunded us the money. They refused. We then contacted our bank and explained the situation. They asked us to send in a letter explaining everything that had happened along with photos. We did this and the money was immediately refunded to us.
To top it all off we have now had another even larger sofa ordered and delivered from another English based company. Within 15 minutes of arriving the drivers had the sofa sitting in our living room without one bit of damage. They thought it was funny that the other company seemed incapable of getting a slightly smaller sofa into our house and concluded "if they couldn't fit a sofa in to our house they wouldn't be able to fit one anywhere."
This goes to prove that the Chesterfield company were willing to try and come up with reason to make us pay for their continual failings.
During the whole 5 month ordeal when we contacted the Chesterfield Company we were always put through to one particular customer service representative. She was rude, unhelpful, ignored most emails you send and didn't return phone calls. After waiting months and only receiving damaged sofas we thought they would have went out of their way to help but instead they just started to ignore us.
There are plenty of reliable sofa companies out there so if you value your time and money I would suggest that you don't get mixed up with the Chesterfield Company.
If you are being treated unfairly by the company I would advise that you also contact Trading Standards and your bank in order to get the situation resolved.

I was very impressed by the quality, simplicity and well-organised approach of this company; even going to some lengths to assist in getting a delivery at a time to suit my complicated schedule, once the sofa was ready. Very pleased with the sofa itself too, which is beautiful. Highly recommended.

We would recommend the Chesterfield Company any day. They were friendly, helpful, and the service was good. We live in Germany and they kept regular contact and up dated us by email.
