City-Link nicked my Drink! - TheDrinkShop.Com saved my bum....

It was my Dad's birthday (71 yrs!) and I decided that along with the 'usual' bottle of Mount Gay I would treat him a proper cognac - he's always liked Hine, so as I was a bit flush, I ordered a special bottle of Antique Hine.
I also got a couple of Madeira's; I think these are delicious and an underrated drink! I ordered a Duke of Sussex (The Aperitif) and a Duke of Clarence (For after dinner).
Sadly the order never arrived... - I was in Kuwait (Yes, an alcohol-free country - Oh the horror!) and had to chase things up remotely - only to learn that the order had left TheDrinkShop on-time but had vanished into the ether.
Calling both firms; City Link and TheDrinkShop.com it became apparent what had happened - Someone carrying the package to the CityLink depot had decided it must be their birthday too! - Well, I hope they got arrested for drunk driving!
I told the nice assistant at TheDrinkShop.com that I was disappointed this had happened as I'd paid extra to make sure everything would be there for my Dad on his Birthday.
Of course I had phoned my Dad on the special day to say "How do you like the drinks eh?!" only to get a "what drinks... and wheres my Mount Gay Rum you ungrateful son of a ...?!"
The DrinkShop.Com assistant was very helpful - she immediately spotted something wrong with the order and promised to call me back. I explained I was overseas, so when she did call back it was to my folks. Anyway - my same drinks order was shipped with *next-day* delivery to my parents on the day I called.

The drinks arrived and even though it was 3-days after his birthday, I don't think my Dad is holding any grudges :-)

I have ordered before and will do again without hesitation from TheDrinkShop.com.

My issues obviously occurred with the courier, so I will try to order early in future and use Royal Mail.
