Impressed with service

Initially felt tentative about using a website unknown to me but it was the only place I could find a wine I particularly wanted and so gave it a try. Very pleased I did. Service was excellent. Wine arrived quickly and was very well packed. No problems at all. Will definately use The Purveyor site again.

Against the grain

Reading the reviews, the purveyor.com is obviously a popular and well-liked site, and I'm not in the habit of giving poor reviews, however, I did order a 2002 Cristal, and a 2004 was delivered. The helpful person on the end of the 'phone explained that they had no control over what the supplier sent out, and the 2002 was obviously no longer in stock. This is fine if your Grey Goose label has changed colour, and might be OK for a cheaper wine, but the whole point of vintage champagne is its vintage, and 2002 Cristal is not cheap, by any standards. As this was a 10th Wedding anniversary gift, the year was doubly important.

Thepurveyor.com were very keen to sort out the problem, but I’m not sure the person I spoke to had much of a grasp of why I was
unhappy :(

I did manage to source a 2002 from another site, just in time, so it’s not like it was the end of the world. In fact, at the end of the day, it’s still only champagne, nobody died from not drinking enough of it :)

On the plus side, delivery was very quick, and the collection of the same was organised without a hitch, I expect my refund will also be processed without any problems :)

Stongly recomended I will use them again.

I live half a mile from the Perveyor and collected my order after receiving a telephone call to say that it was ready for collection.The cost of delivery was reinburst without any problems
I was informed at all times by telephone as to the progress of my order and on collection a very nice young lady delivered the order as I walked into reception. What more can you ask for.

Super Efficient and Packaged Beautifully

I am having lots of guests this Christmas, and needed quite a lot of drink, so I found The Purveyor in google and their range and price was very good. I paid for 3-5days but arrived the following day. I was so impressed and when I opened the boxes each bottle was beautifully packed.

When ever I need good champagne or wine I always use this site. The delivery is well packaged and fast too and the price is reasonable plus they stock so many brands that other site don't. I would recommend this site to anyone.

All I wanted was good produce at competitive prices, backed up with professional service and that's what I found at The Purveyor!

I was in Edinburgh recently and after dining at a restaurant, I asked for the name of the wine I had been served. Once back home in Northern Ireland, I tried to source this wine from local wine merchants but with no joy. I then put the name of the wine into my web browser and The Purveyor.com came up as a possible supplier. A few clicks into their website, I found the wine I had been looking for. A few clicks more to register and a further few clicks to order my desired wine plus a few others for good measure and my search was complete. a couple of days later and my wine arrived, securely packaged and with a nice discount voucher, for future purchases, enclosed.
All in all, a hassle free, informative and professional service. If they live up to this standard every time, they'll have a customer for a very long time. I'm a firm believer in giving loyalty to those who put service first over those who believe in being cheap in price and poor on service. I'd recommend The Purveyor to my friends. For my enemies, supermarket standards is all they deserve!

prices and delivery times are very reasonable.

i bit more choice of pastis brands would be nice e.g., duval, casanis, pastis 51, but it is so nice, anyway, to find something other than pernod

Boutique Brands

I found a new brand called Kammerlings in a London bar last week. I searched the web for it thinking it would be super expensive and I found if on The Purveyor and it was not expensive. It arrived super fast within a day when I only paid for 3 day delivery.

I purchased premium whisky from the site as a gift, and it arrived in good time as promised. The brand was one I couldn't find elsewhere either online or in stores - the site is very informative about it's products. Not the cheapest, but certainly value for money. I booked an expensive bottle of Perrier Jouet Belle Epoque Champagne for the cost of £85, not including shipping, to be sent as a special thank you for France. The website 'specialises' in sending gifts abroad, hence my order. I paid for the shipping and on the website told it took 3 days to deliver - My order took 14 days to reach its destination after 4 phone calls and emails from me chasing the Purveyor to find out where my delivery was. Not once was I given an apology or explanation, I didnt even get the shipping fee reimbursed!

It took so long to deliver, the moment was lost - it was no longer the special thank you I had wanted!

We are always disappointed if a customer doesn’t receive 100% satisfaction.

However, having gone through all the paperwork and communications (which is available to Trustpilot if necessary), we would comment as follows;

Whilst we are happy to attempt delivery almost anywhere, nowhere on our website do we claim to be specialists at shipping abroad as you state. The website does indeed state 3 days – however it states this is for UK mainland. Your original order in fact stated the shipping address to the the same as the billing address. Both are UK addresses. You subsequently changed this to an address in France.

Your order was placed at 3.30pm on August 23rd – the homepage of our site clearly states that 2.30pm is the order cut off so immediately your order falls into the next day, the 24th, and it is from this point that the order is shipped and delivery timings measured.
Our courier attempted a delivery on August 25th and 26th but there was no-one in. This was in fact at most 2 days after the 24th. And to France. Clearly we can’t be expected to know if/when the recipient is at home but we achieved getting the package to the door in France within 24-48 hours.

All these points were continually emailed to you to keep you informed – yet you say you were given no explanation or apology - there was in fact an apology in the email from the customer service team - and as you responded to these emails we know you received them.

As I’ve stated earlier we are happy to share these communications with Trustpilot to defend our honour and integrity.

You emailed us again on September 6th continuing to chase delivery even though successful delivery had been made the day prior. Given the unusual surname it would suggest it had been received by a family member and given the amount of chasing it seems odd that they didn’t let you know they had received it already.

As a member of Bradford & Bingley Rugby Club for which Purvoyer are a sponsor I bought wine using the discount and will use again great quality and value

A Cracking Site

I love the blog on this site as well as the range of spirits, wines and champagnes. Delivery is always within two days even when you order for five days. I hear the range is getting larger for Christmas.

the best internet site for alcohol I've ever used

I used this site to buy some champagne as a birthday gift. The site looks really nice ! And actually there were so many champagnes to choose from I dint know which one to pick. But the bit I really liked was that they put a gift message on it for me before sending off to my friend. The thing about internet sites is that we tend to take them for granted and only shout when it goes wrong. These guys were just really nice.
