Whisky has had to go on the streets to make a living. Perfectly decent malts have had to put on Mickey Mouse costumes and invent exotic backstories. This is because they have to appeal to overpaid wannabees who cling to the belief that the purchase of overpriced externals can somehow provide them with the taste, discretion, culture and dignity they so conspicuously lack.
OK, that's the way the world is run nowadays.
When my local shop - and their wholesalers - stopped stocking my favourite (blended) Scotch, I went on a Google search. To my surprise, the Whisky Exchange still stocks it at a very reasonable price. Not only is the price good, but the delivery is impeccable and very fast. They also take Amex and give Quidco cashback - what could be better? Needless to say, I'm now a regular customer.
This is a model online business and deserves to prosper. Shame about the rich idiots who make it possible. Try and look beyond the marketing to the decent stuff underneath - you won't regret it.
