Unit was exactly as described (Lenovo x200s laptop) and in fact had been given a new battery so runs for 4 hours from a charge.
The unit was well packed in a purpose-built laptop shipping container and was delivered next day.
Unit came with Vista installed (can't have evrything) so I purchased Win7 64 bit, downloaded all the Win 7 drivers from Lenovo and it works perfectly.
I bought a reconditioned Dell laptop for less than 200 pounds - it was in really good condition. It may be a bit old, and may be percieved as slow inregard to processor speeds of todays expectations but it does everything I need for home use (internet, photos, documents (reading and writing) and those extra bits of work I take home.
The tier 1 website is very clear and the email contact and their choice of parcel delivery company was excellent.
I ;purchased two laptops from Tier one and both were exactly as described. I have bought from them before and did have a problem with the laptop. Don't worry though, they sorted the problem quickly and efficiently. These people are the real deal. Purchase with confidence.
the whole experience from start to finish has been brill,i would reccomend to all online without any hesitation!
I have always been a fan of IBM, as their products are very reliable, so when I received an email that I could get a Refurbished IBM Lenovo T43 with a giant 15" screen I jumped at the chance... a day later it was here, in immaculate condition, ready to use, with the added bonus of fingerprint recognition.. just excellent, downloaded the software from the IBM website and hey presto... a brilliant bit of technology, at a very affordable price.. it was so good I wanted to get one for my son, but they were out of stock (must have sold like hot cakes) so I have ordered a HP Compaq, which is being delivered tomorrow... two orders in two months,,, yes they are that good,
5* service 5* equipment highly recommended..
I had slight problems with the order - I ordered just as the website was being upgraded, and got a slightly garbled email from tier 1. A week later I called up as nothing had happened - they delivered the laptop the next day with a free laptop bag. They also let me upgrade the PC to win 7 as this item had become available at the same price in the intervening week.
I should have bought the more expensive version as this has a larger hard drive. Also there is a slight smell of cigarette smoke from the laptop - I presume it was previously owned by a smoker. However the value for money is astonishingly good.
Overall I'm very happy with Tier1online, I have used them for years and will continue to do so.
I found the whole experience from ordering to delivery first class. I had a slight issue with payment (was getting it sent to my son's address, not to where the card was registered). This was dealt with quickly and in a very friendly manner.
I will be using Tier1 again and would recommend them to all.
The items I have ordered and received have always been to my expectations.
However, customer support can sometimes be frustrating as staff seem to be too busy - they will take your call etc but won't really put themselves out. This was not the case with all staff (Adam was good to speak to) but some seem to be just interested in doing their basic job rather than going beyond the call of duty. For example, I asked to be put through to "Adam only if he was available - I'm just returning his call" to be put on hold for 10 minutes - and the order cut-off time was looming. The support staff should have said, "he's on the phone so maybe I can help?".
I would still recommend them highly simply because if you do get your order in on time, the goods turn up the next day and the quality is as specified and good value for money.
I have been buying stuffs from Tier 1 laptops and I will be honest. I bought so many stuffs from their sites. Sometime the items were not as it should have been. But I will give full credit they THEY CHANGED THE ITEMS SO QUICK AND REPLACED WITH ANOTHER ITEM, that I want expecting from any other site.
I must say that their after sales service such as replacement or refund services are really admirable. I love their site and all my 8 close friends buy stuffs from this site. I wish them all the best and PLEASE KEEP THE SAME SERVICE 👍
Computer purchased is great and is just as described, when I phoned to ask questions
they were courteous and very knowledgeable. The computer arrived within 2 days of
purchase, postage and packing was excellent. Would have preferred receipted
invoice note on delivery instead of having to telephone for one. (No proof of purchase)
Would definitely recommend to family and friends. Good Luck !
Great machine, with good spec, at a really good price. Unfortunately this has a BIOS supervisor password set,, and the only way to change the configuration is to replace the security chip on the motherboard, which is not a particularly thrilling prospect. If Tier 1 had made sure that these machines were fully factory reset before reselling them, this would have been a full five star review, but as it is, some functionality is limited, and to rectify this is likely to be both expensive, and at the risk of major damage to the machine.
great purchase at a great price excellent customer service !!
Very good company providing pre owned computer equipement.
I knew that the olipad is freely available in europe and had heard good things about it, Tier1 sold me a brand new one with upgraded ram and it has been fantastic. Delivery was next day even tough I selected standard and when I advised that the power cable was european, they sent a uk cable the next day. Excellent service and I would not only recommend using them again but also that you buy one of these olipads. Very competitively priced. I am currently looking to buy other electrical equipment and will be checking what tier1 have avulable.
Reconditioned computer with windows operating system, mouse, keyboard and flat screen at a very sensible price. Using this one as a backup to the main office computer, better than an external hard drive, you can see everything on screen.
My second purchase from this excellent business.
I have bought from you several times and have never been let down by price or quality, you know your products and pass them on to your customers with confidence in their efficiency. I totally trust my purchases from tier 1. Thank you
I've bought a couple of laptops from Tier 1 (both for home use) and recommended a few more laptops to other people to buy from the mail-outs I get from them. They are one of the few companies who's mail-outs I always read, there are some incredible deals to be had!
I won't bang on about the first laptop too much as it was purchased a number of years ago (it was an IBM T42 from memory). Except to say it was a bargain and I never had any problems with it (it was eventually handed down to someone else).
The laptop I've recently bought is a Dell Latitutude D430 for £99. I will start by saying, this is an admittedly fairly old laptop (it's a 2007-08 model). At the same time, this was a top of the range laptop on release (before purchase I read an online review from the period on trustedreviews and it cost just under £2k!! It was awarded 9 stars out of 10!); its a Core 2 Duo, has 2GB of RAM, an 80GB hard drive, wireless N (!), gigabit ethernet and 3g! For £99!
This model had obviously being designed for the high end business user (and came with Vista Business), but I purchased it as a laptop for my 11 year old son. He was getting to the age where he needed one for school and many of his friends were buying those awful netbooks (the 12" form factor of this laptop was perfect for this purpose as well). This does so much more than a netbook, it cost a quarter of the price and looks 10x better (it really does look smart, and it came in absolutely perfect condition; not a scratch or dent on it! It also seems to have either never been run from the battery or has had a battery replacement as it can do a full 3-4 hours from the installed battery! Not what you'd normally expect from a rerurb!).
I upgraded it from Vista business to Windows 7 home (which was dead simple, everything was available from Windows 7 through Windows drivers' set and Windows update, although I did get some newer version drivers from the Dell website). Windows 7 runs absolutely fine on it.
Of course, he's not going to be playing FIFA 13 on it, but it's speedy at booting, excellent for its intended use (using for school work, general browsing, office software use, etc), and he also plays a few online browser-based games and usually also runs Skype and MSN in the background, and it's perfectly happy running multiple things at the same time (try doing that on a £300 netbook!).
Service from Tier 1 was excellent, payment easy, good communications, tracking faultless (even providing the delivery time to within an hour!).
Obviously this was one of their lower priced laptops, but there are fantastic deals to be had quite often (it's best to be on their mailing list and get in there quick, as the best deals often go fairly rapidly). As I said at the start I've seen a couple of other deals on the mail-outs which I knew would be perfect for friends or family who were looking out for a laptop and they purchased them from Tier 1. So far, just like us, none have have had a problem.
Definite thumbs up from me!
I think I have purchased 5 laptops from Tier 1 over the years. Typicall I pay 20% of the new price for a 2-3 year old top quality laptop. They come with the original operating system on a clean computer and work extremely well. Tier 1 provides a no quibble fast and responsive service should anything go wrong (only once) That problem was sorted in 2 days as the replacement part was sent out by post. Highly recommended, nice people to deal with and fantastic value for money.
Recently bought 5 Compaq DC9700 Desktop PCs 4Gb RAM Win 7 Pro 64-bit with 17" LED monitors for around £100 each.
Prefect for small businesses that need network performance on the cheap.

Having ordered a corporate refurbished Lenovo T61 I was pleased with the quick delivery. But rather suprised that I received another unit the next day. A quick phone call to the office and it was arranged for the second unit to be collected by a courier the next day.
My T61 is now up and running and also in immaculate condition it looks like new<
I've bought a fair amount of stuff from Tier1 in the last few years, typically these are graded refurbished laptops or other computer/audio equipment - though it has to be said that the difference in price between office quality (Dell and Lenovo) used and economy new at Currys etc is less than it was - I've always been extremely satisfied with the value and quality of these deals, and the excellent service from the seller (admittedly I have't experience of buying a dud).
So a Dell D430 running Vista Professional through a Core 2 Duo 1.33GHz processor, 2Gb RAM and 80Gb HD - for £99! didn't need much thinking about as an ultraportable back up machine, particularly for MP3 files. It may seem pretty prehistoric stacked up against the latest ultrabooks, but more than does the job - and the one I got was pretty well pristine, with a battery still holding charge for 3+ hours. Excellent all round
I bought a refurbished IBM Thinkpad from Tier 1 and am very happy with the product and level of customer service I received. Emails were answered quickly and courteously and the company were careful in checking identiity and security as I had not bought from them before. Overall, I would recommend them.
I bought a T400 laptop that should have had dvd combo fitted. It was delivered with a DVD CDRW I emailed Tier1 asking for a replacement and they did not bother to reply at all
