Appalling Service - £433 order cancelled
Tel to confirm they could next day delivery the order - advised yes for 2 of 3 items. Advised best way to order was via the internet - did so a few minutes later. Waited the next day and checked progress of order online - when noted it hadn't shipped I telephoned - advised that there are cut off times for each item, and all payments take a hour to clear and so order was too late. Explained that I had telephoned and specifically asked if they could deliver and the sales person had checked stock and advised "yes" - they agreed it was wrong and that they had wasted my time (I had cancelled another appt to be here for delivery) and apologised - wow. They lie and waste my time but think an apology makes up for it. When I asked to speak to a Director I was told they have a policy where directors don't speak to customers !! Great - we pay for their business and salaries and they don't even wish to speak to customers. Absolutely appalling service and customer service - would rather pay more and get the item when I want and have better service. I asked how I could get a negative comment on their website customer comments - advised they wouldn't do that - only positive ones are put on website. Misleading your customers !! Had to give at least 1 star - they deserve none !

Great value and service
I have placed repeat orders several times with Tool-Net.co.uk, the mirror adhesive I buy from them is less than half the price than if I had to buy it locally. Great value and arrived very quickly, very impressed!

regarding shipment to Lithuania
Chai.. I am from Lithuania.
Ordering some stuff from those guys.. the total amount of all my orders already more then 10 000 euros or so.. and it was delivered on time ( almost..- but i am not from uk - I am from lithania, so its always some more time to deliver naturally).. anyway - since i have small company in Lithuania - they send me all the goods ex VAT.. its pritty good, i would say.. also - they getting me all electrical tools - 240 volts... and the prices are much much cheaper then in Lithuania.. event the sending cost is between the 60 pounds (and more some times if i am sending lots of nails for my gas pistol).. but its still half price :).. recomend

Could have been better!
Well I ordered a few bits last saturday in hope of having them by the following weekend. It took until wednesday for a representative to get back to me regarding one of the items being out of stock, and that if I was willing to go for the alternative option I could have it within 48hours which was absolutely fine by me as that would be friday. So after emailing back the same day, friday came around with no mention from the representative and no change of status in my orders on their site.
I decided to give them a call on friday to discover my email was sadly ignored as it was in their spam folder, so no order a week on. They were perfectly nice on the phone, and I was dealt with in a professional manner, but my experience wasn't the best or speediest.
I'm not writing them off as a company, but if I can get what I'm after down Screwfix or one of my other favoured online retailers then I will. Only a decent price will bring me back, and only if I'm in no hurry to receive it.
Right off to Screwfix I go to get the item I was after!

Quality Goods, delivered promptly, excellent website
I have used Tool.Net for some time now as they are consistently reliable. Recently purchased a Dewalt Palm Sander and a Dewalt Angle Grinder, separate orders. Both at highly competitive prices and both despatched and delivered without delay. They only stock quality products and their website is very clear and user friendly. Clarke Mig151EN Gas/No Gas welder
After spending some time pondering over where to buy a mig welder that suited my needs and not having much luck locally for the model I wanted I turned to tool-net as the price was very competitive and postage was reasonable to N. Ireland. The staff I dealt with over the phone and via e-mail were very helpful and professional with handling my order. The Clarke mig151EN was dispatched on a Thursday afternoon and arrived via parcel force at my door the following morning at 10.20am. My order was well packaged and no marks or signs of rough handling during it's delivery from tool-net to myself so I feel parcel force also deserve a mention for a very good service also. Thank you for a smooth transaction and outstanding experience.

Great product and great service!
I deliberated long and hard as to whether to buy this Youngman Pro-Deck Aluminium Ladder & Deck System or a set of multi purpose ladders (such as from BPS). As my main use will be for decorating the stairs and other such jobs I decided on the Youngman. Why? Well the Youngman ladder has more flexibility in that the platform can be placed at various heights (each rung) whereas the multi-purpose ladders are fixed at various positions and should the required height be incorrect then you can't use them. I also like the quality of Youngman products.
The purchase through Tool Net (www.tool-net.co.uk) was a no brainer - their prices are way better than everyone else and the cost of delivery was very reasonable at £5.99 plus VAT. No-one came close. Great product and great supplier!

Perfect service.
I was looking for a toolbag/cse for the many tools I use to access gadgets mainly pc's which would also carry a laptop.
By chance discovered this company, saw the item I wanted, the Ceka T1630, at a price which was cheaper than EBay, ordered and paid for the bag very quickly and very smoothly.
Delivery was the next day.
I am a staunch believer in customer service and refuse to use a company again if I feel that the service has been poor.
I have no problems in recommending this company and only wish that others would take the time and offer a similar service. It can only be good for business surely.

Very poor service.
Ordered Rawlplug Resin Anchor capsules and bolts with a 13 mm drill bit as per the Rawlpug instructions. Waited nearly 2 weeks for delivery as drill bit not in stock. Took two phone calls and email to chase up. Finally dispatched order but have been sent Fisher products not Rawlplug and these require 14mm drill bit. Will buy a bit locally and accept the financial loss as would not be happy to deal with this company again.

POOR SERVICE, LONG DELIVERY TIMES, THEN STILL NOT RIGHT
Placed order which took three weeks to deliver, put down goods on delivery sheet that where not there. Telephone to chase remainder of goods and said could take as long as a month. No passion as they must just answer complaints all day. All to casual, just very poor. Can't expect to stay in business when no one cares. Do yourself a favour and order from some where
else.

Great service and promt delivery of a great product!
We purchased Everbuild stick 2 spray contact adhesive 500ml as our usual supplier let us down. I found the item easily on the website and was pleased with how simple the order process was. The delivery was quick, with no problems at all! Now after using the adhesive we have discovered that is superior to our previous item! We will be purchasing it regularly!

Excellent service
I was looking to buy these bolts for a building project - and was amazed how expensive they were - but then I found them on Tool-net for about half the price I had seen elsewhere. The service was prompt - easy to sort out and efficient. I needed a VAT receipt and on request had it by return of email in a few minutes. I would definitely recommend this to friends - in fact have already done so, and will most certainly be using them again. N H

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!! Don't trust em
tool-net.co.uk shocking site! Who would pay money for this poor looking and functioning website with a terrible history of troubles and problems other than existing people who have ripped people off for months telling lies and conning!!!!
They were sending out so called SALE info as they were going under trying to grab as much money off people as possible knowing they'd never have the stock and customers would get stiffed.
The so-called new owners don't seem to have their facts correct! SURPRISE?

Thank you for your previous comments. Whilst they make interesting reading I am afraid they are not factually correct. You obviously have a grievance with the website so please let me address the issues you have raised by explaining the website's recent change of ownership as we at ILS understand it.
The www.tool-net.co.uk WAS owned by Toolnet Ltd. However the company trading via that website was Fixings Direct Ltd. Yes, for a short time they were registered at the same address and partly owned by the same parties. However nobody has tried to shift debts, sales or other problems to any another company. We at ILS have archived copies of the Terms & Conditions of Sale belonging to the previous website owners, which were clearly displayed on the website up until the beginning of July 2009. These terms stated the website was a trading method for Fixings Direct Ltd and purchases were entered into WITH Fixings Direct Ltd. Toolnet Ltd owned the website URL but had no dealings with sales or activities entered into via the site. The opening paragraph of the old Tool-Net terms read:
"The brand “tool-net” and URL of “www.tool-net.co.uk” are trading names of Fixings Direct Ltd and for purposes of this document will be referred to as “Us” or “the Company”. All aspects of www.tool-net.co.uk trading is undertaken by Fixings Direct Ltd at the company's registered address or subsidiary sites and can be contacted via the 'Contact Us' page."
Despite extensive efforts, on the 30th June 2009 Fixings Direct Ltd took the decision to cease trading with immediate effect in order to reduce any further losses to customers, suppliers and staff. Since then Fixings Direct Ltd has been wound up by an independent Insolvency Practitioner.
With no company able to use or pay for the use of the www.tool-net.co.uk URL, it was sold by Toolnet Ltd to an unrelated third party - Internet Logistical Solutions Ltd (ILS). The new owners run similar businesses and saw the website as a good investment, setting up a new company to run it as soon as possible.
Meanwhile the former owners Toolnet Ltd have ceased trading and will likely dissolve in the not to distant future.
We at ILS have no links to the previous firm but believe the Tool-Net brand to be strong and capable of delivering excellent products and service. Yes the previous owners had problems but in this difficult market they were not alone. Since the exchange, ILS have worked hard to make Tool-Net.co.uk a successful business and already positive reviews and returning customers are emerging. There may have been some customers of the previous owners who have lost money or products as a result of the insolvency but despite having little access to the details, ILS have helped these individuals wherever possible.
Thank you for taking the time to read these facts. We hope they offer a helpful explanation and accurately display how ILS are an honest company only looking to trade in an open and honest manner, delivering the very best in internet-trading.

I placed an order in April, then cancelled when they could not deliver within the agreed time, They promised to refund my money, it did not happen I have been emailing and phoning for the last 3 months but no response- now I learn why from this site.

Good but checkered history
Bought some sealants from Tool-net last week and had to complete sale by phone. Staff seemed helpful enough and took the order but I happened across this site yesterday and got really worried. Thankfully the stuff arrived today and can't fault it. I know I'll be wanting more next week but not if my money's going to disappear like this site seems to suggest is likely so I called them again this afternoon. The man told me the website is under new ownership by a new company since the old one went bust! He said they've bought the site and are trying to start it fresh. They know about the bad press and are going to try to make it work despite it. I'll give them one more try as he answered all my questions and seems legit. Guess I'll soon find out!

Company gone bust - But still trading??
Typical story - Ordered some tools, the ordered was cancelled (after they took my money) and then my account was deleted. I looked up their address and found an alternative phone number and was put through to someone who explained that they had gone bust and that an email was on its way to explain how I could claim my money. Just one question though - how are they still trading??

Do not purchase from this company
I ordered a ladder. After 2 weeks I logged in to my account on Tool-net web site to find out the order was cancelled. Tried to contact Tool-net by phone and e-mail but no response. My account has now been deleted. Payment taken and Credit Card company has been alerted.

placed an order with them, which they took money straight away. goods did not turn up on expected date, tried to phone and email , no luck !finaly get to speak to someone and told the tools were out of stock, but they would be in the next week. so i waited , no tools. each time i rang got the same answer. so i canceled the order and was told the money would be refunded, 3weeks later still waiting. Now credit card company trying to get refund.

I have been unable to contact them. They will not answer the phone or emails but are quick enough to take my money. 3-5 day delivery?? I placed my order on 4th May and havn't heard a thing. I am not happy!
