Apart from taking payment for an item of my order that wasn't in stock and which took much longer to receive than they stated it would(including telling me it will be another few days when I asked for an update every week over something like 3 weeks!)
The biggest issue I have with them is that an item from my order wasn't included in the delivery. I emailed them a couple of times and got no reply, I tried to phone but nobody would pick up (even though a couple of times their phone was in use). I then posted my complaint on their contact form on their web site. They responded saying that their records show the parcel was sent on such a date. I replied re-iterating the fact that the parcel didn't contain the item! After that, I got no reply so a week later I asked for an update and still I got no reply.
I will make sure I tell as many people about this experience as possible.
Competitive prices, but appalling customer service I'm afraid. I'd advise anyone who is thinking of ordering from this company to telephone the number on their website first. I guarantee you'll get no answer, just a recorded message. With this in mind, ask yourself how they can resolve any problems with your order when they don't reply to your emails either. This was my experience and if you take a chance with them, I hope it's not yours.
A placed an order with tools4trade as their website stated 'usually despatched in 24 hours'. Six days later I have to phone them, it constantly goes to answer phone, then I speak to someone and the call mysteriously gets dropped, then I speak to someone who argues with me about how Bosch items are on 3-4 day delivery. That is not what their website said and even so it's now 6 days and it hasn't been dispatched. Incompetent and unpleasant with it. Never again.
My experience with this company left me so angry and I hope people read this before they deal with this company. Telling me they are out of stock of the item I ordered so I asked a friend to make an enquiry and she was told the item is in stock after they increased the price.One star is too much but you get no choice.
in terms of customer service, this is the worst company i've ever dealt with
queries submitted through the web contact form all went unanswered, their support email address (email@example.com) is inactive, and in my experience the phone rings but is never answered
received an email saying my order was dispatched, then a day later received a follow up email which stated a refund had been issued for certain items that were not in stock -- very annoying i was not consulted on modification of the order, this had a knock on effects and costs to work i'd scheduled
there was not a problem with those items that were dispatched, and in fairness their prices are good
on balance though, cheap prices don't make up for the poor service, and i won't be using this company again
false advertising,sent me cheap imitation transformer from china. no reply to any emails i sent them ,until I approached manufacturer of transformer i wanted and showed him link on the tools4trade website clearly stating it was branded,they then, tell me courier will be coming next day,I really needed transformer so I skip work and waited in all day,8 pm that night I receive email asking me to let them know what day I would be available for courier to come collect,WTF. im now at my 4th email from them asking me what day I will be available,when the last responses from me have been along the lines of THURSDAY THURSDAY THURSDAY,on the phone,I had first thought I had got through to Indian call centre,but just turns out level English by their staff is appalling, other than that,the hammer I ordered was OK,but hard to fcuk a hammer up
ordered 2 products on next day delivery. No confirmation email of order or anything. Called next day to be told they had only just got payment. Order was done by verified paypal account so the funds would have been released as the order was made. Then was told that the item may or may not be in stock. When I asked them to cancel the order and issue a refund they told me this could be done until monday!
Also the website claim free delivery on orders over £60, when I asked about this I was told that that was wrong and it should be £80.
Please stay clear, I'd hate anyone else to have to go through the upset/inconvenience that I've gone through today.
I ordered 2 items from the Tools4Trade website before the New Year, with the apparent promise that they would be delivered by the 5th January. I waited and waited, and kept calling T4T to see what was happening. They said the payment had not been received - incorrect as it had gone onto my credit card (and was accruing interest) as soon as the web transaction went through.
I called several times and each time was told that they would contact the accounting department and call me back, which never happened. Finally I called and got quite angry, and found T4T had by then cancelled my order as due to the delay the items were no longer in stock, with no contact or checking with me whatsoever. I am now unable to get the items needed for my deadline, and will have to get them elsewhere at the new higher rate of VAT. Truly terrible customer service - avoid if possible!
