Toys R Us will cancel your order - never shopping here again

So I jump online to order some toys for a kids birthday party, great! After placing my order, I was informed that it would take upto 4 working days (you can pay for express which costs a heck of a lot more)

Anyway after placing my order, I received an email to contact them because they were "concerned" about my order - i guess it was because some were duplicates and apparently this breaches their terms and conditions.

So i call them and explain it's for a birthday party. Advisor (who was fantastic btw) says great and will process my order. So it's becoming nearer to the date of the party and my order still has not been delivered.

Next, after what seems like a long long time, I get an email informing me my order has been cancelled... what?? Apparently

"We have concerns with releasing your order for despatch and have therefore cancelled your order.

We are unable to give specific details for why we cannot process your order"

So thats it - you are better off going elsewhere. I suggest Smyths as I've never had a problem with them

They never refund

They never refund, if they have to they issue the credit note so ultimately you end up buying their goods which is not the correct selling practice.

I will definitely void them and buy from the Amazon or eBay for my Kid's Toys

Loyalty - what loyalty?

The Toys R Us loyalty scheme is a joke. As you would expect you collect loyalty points with every purchase. Eventually you get a statement. but here is the trick/con. The earned points are converted into discount vouchers and not into credit to spend. The vouchers are specific to particular product so although the statement will advise that you have been issued £150 of coupons this will be made up of a coupon for £2 of this toy is you spend £20, £5 of that toy if you spend £50 etc. so you would have to spend a fortune on all sorts of rubbish to save £150 . You will be very lucky if infact you can use any coupon on something that you want. What a con - not even worth carrying the card.

Total nightmare! beware do not order furniture!

After shopping about at various baby shops we decided to purchase the Winnie the Pooh furniture bundle with matching toy box over £700 worth of goods. I took a day off work for delivery and my husband assembled firstly the toy box but it wouldn't close, then the cot but the drawer was damaged, then the wardrobe which seems fine, and finally attempted the dresser but this was also damaged. Contacted customer services and was told all parts would be delivered within 7 - 10 days, that was 5 weeks ago, i called last week, sorry it wasn't ordered properly, will do it again, still nothing so called this week, still wasn't ordered! However finally both parts arrived today but again the dresser side is damaged. Totally at my whits end with it, i had to take today off work again and don't get paid and will have to do it again when they deliver this side panel! I must be rich! Total nightmare, hopefully in another 7-10 days it might arrive, but will it be damaged for a third time? Yep probably no faith in them at all. Please think twice about ordering anything from them customer service is shocking!

Pathetic Customer Experience And Hassle Getting Refund

Purchased Xmas presents for kids booked 1 week before their cut off date. However, they never arrived - then arranged for a refund which I was promised I would get within 7 days. They then deliver the parcel on the 8th of January (by posting a note and leaving in the dustbin). Now I have to arrange for a recollection of the goods and then got to wait for another 7-10 days after they have received their goods. Throughout the whole process they just make it that its not their problem - its your problem and its you who has to do resolve it. I have 3 young kids - will never deal with again.

not always what it seems

Have used toysrus online ordering twice, first time the product description was different the actual product available but as it was a birthday present too late to change and customer services were unhelpful. Second time tried to buy two scooters for my twins, advertised at £39.99 online but when added to basket went in at £49.99 customer service response was that the deal had ended no hint as to why they were on the site at that price and no suggestion as to when the deal had ended. Very poor as an on line seller if you can't be sure what they are selling or at what price.

Watch for the Catch

They are offering free gifts if you spend over a certain amount. (multi buys) However the free gifts are always out of stock. Their customer services department today confirmed that they don't carry the stock. Therefor no free gift. Its all a con. I will never use this company again.

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL!!!!!

I had my baby registry at babies R Us in the U.K, and everything was fine with it. We then received a broken item, which we realized was broken when we tried to assemble it the SAME DAY IT ARRIVED. We called the Customer Service desk which was USELESS and a waster of my time. First, I was accused of breaking it myself, even though it had only been delivered about 15 minutes prior. Then I was told I would have to pay to send it back with the company that delivered it. Trust me, they got it from me at that point. They FINALLY after pissing and moaning about it, arranged for pick up from my house, as the nearest store is 3 hours away, and I am 9 months pregnant and didn't fancy driving all that way to replace something that was faulty on their behalf. So it was picked up, and I tracked the delivery. It's been over 4 days now and they still haven't received it in their system, and therefore hasn't been delivered. I phoned and was told I'd have to wait at least 2 WEEKS for the new one, even though it's paid for, and they're not losing anything by sending it to me. I've made many complaints to them, but nothing seems to get done. I feel 1 star is even too much for this company, and will NEVER shop or make another registry again with Toys R Us, or Babies R Us. Awful service, useless customer service helpline, and all around ignorant.

I like it when a company sets it's stall out clearly and then sticks by it no matter what. No diversification attempts here to try and make yet more money, simply toys, toys and more toys and the model hasn't changed, not once, ever. That's not a bad thing nowadays.

Toys are us

We've brought lots of toys from this store over the years and it seemed to have great toys for all ages of children. The days are gone when shopping around town for a present was the way.
Toys are us have a good selection of affordable goods and you'll find it very difficult to find a cheaper price anywhere except Argos, however in Argos you can't test anything so you have to go there after visiting another store which isn't that good.

do you want to spend more time with your baby? You just need to buy crystal clear suresound monitor from TOMMEE TIPPEE that NEVER WORKS! Then you can spend all day and all night with him/her! Whats more Tommee tippee does not care for customers as I still have and going to have a FAULTY BABY MONITOR for a long long time!!!!
And Toys r us is refusing to exchange the unit tommee tippee says that is not their fault!!! It means that the product is no ones responsibility!

Fantastic Toys

I highly recommend Toys R Us to anyone who has Children, In fact anyone who just loves Toys. I find there Store layout in my local Store, very easy to find exactly what I want.

I recently purchased some new toys on the official Toys R Us Online Store, I was very very impressed with just how easy it is to find the products. In fact even easier than visiting my local store, I actually found more Toys than I knew they had.

I also recommend the Toy Cars, especially due to the cost, which is some £5 cheaper than other suppliers. I also searched online to see if there was any cheaper online, to no avail.

Quite simply Toys R Us are Cheaper, Better and Quicker than anyone I have previously purchased from.
Well done Toys R Us, you make my Children and the pocket in my trousers Very happy.

I use toys R us a lot for my two kids, I have a store locally but tend to buy online. The price's are always good and they have good deals, delivery is always fast and well packed.

Good shop but staff need training in manners

Went to the Peel centre Toysrus after reserving toys online which I found helpful, however when I went to the customer service desk to pick up the goods the staff were as miserable as sin!! No smile or a thank you. If I buy goods from a shop I expect the staff to be friendly and to at least say thank you instead all I got was a grunt! The assistant who served me acted like I was putting her out. Not good!

Could Be Better If They Used a Better Courier

Bought a Dolls House for my daughter on December 11th, paid extra to gaurantee delivery on the 15th. Unfortunately they use DPD, the WORST delivery company in the UK. I recieved my parcel today after chasing DPD and Toys R Us and threatening to ask for compensation for collecting it from the depot.

The customer service lady at Toys R Us was very understanding however and she cannot be faulted.
