ColliersWood Branch the Worst Staff Ever

On Sunday we went to Toysrus Collierswod Branch to buy a bike for my son.

The one which we liked, we were been told there is no stock. We told them we are ready to buy the display product if they are willing to sell at discounted price. Customer Service told us normally we give 10% I will check with my supervisor/manager.

In 5 minutes Supervisor came downstairs and told us that he is ready to give 20% discount and then he left.

Customer Service informed us that whether we are interested in insurance. We opted to not buy the insurance. Then he ask that go to the till and pay the money once done they will do the basic check and give the bike to us.

At the till Manager came and he said you can't buy this bike at 20% discount if you don't buy the insurance. But we said your supervisor and customer representative didn't mention this to us. He said I am the manager and this is my last decision. Buy it or leave it. We kept telling him that if your staff has agreed at 20% how can you just say this does this mean whatever your staff promises to people holds no value to you. He said no my words are the final words in this store and i am the manager. And he started telling us don't make a scene here and immediately security staff surrounded us. As if we are some badies. We just left without buying bike but decided hence forth not to buy any toys from this whole chain.

Stay clear of toys r us at all cost

I went into the chesterfield store and saw the sleigh furniture set at a really good price but was then told that it was the wrong picture on the promotion and that it was infact a much higher price we ended up paying the higher price as that was the furniture I wanted. We then got informed that the wardrobe wouldn't be in stock until January which I said was fine, but we didn't end up getting it until February bear in mind we bought this in November. Then my partner was left to carry the two boxes that said they should be carried by two people per box, he got made to carry them by himself. The service from start to finish has been horrendous and we will not be using toys r us again.

Good website but watch offers!

The Toys R Us website is easy to use and it's good that you can now order and pick up in store (I wish my nearest store wasn't 30 miles away though).

The only issue I've had with the website was they ran a weekend promotion and when I went to order some toys on the Sunday night I kept getting a message saying it was down of maintenance. I wasn't very happy.

Poole Store - Click and Wait and Wait and Wait Service - Not Good

I ordered 2 items online to collect in the Poole store on Sunday 29th December. I went to the click and collect counter, and there was nobody to be seen. Somebody came out the door and walked past without acknowledging me. After 5 minutes I went to a checkout and asked them to find somebody to help me.

Nobody came.

After another 5 minutes (now 10 minutes in total) I asked again, and another call went out...

Nobody came again.

A manager and a colleague were walking past, and I had to interrupt to say I'd been waiting 10 minutes, with calls put out on the tannoy and nobody was coming to help me. He flapped and agreed that the service was unacceptable, but didn't really apologise.

If only I'd walked in and picked the item up off the shelf myself, I could have avoided this horrid experience.

This is why John Lewis are viewed so positively - they have enough staff, who are helpful, and click and collect service that works. As for Toys R Us - Click and Wait would be more suitable

never use toys r us stockport peel centre again!!!!

If you're looking to pay £100 extra on your shopping park there. I passed there one evening before Christmas having never been there before to finish xmas shopping. It was dark and raining. No signs on entry or exit of the store about parking pay and display now received a fine for 100. So I'll take that out of every future purchase I would have made in Stockport. They want deserted empty shops their issue now and I urge everyone to look online at Amazon as you will probably find it cheaper there before you add the extra 100 quid. Pity the government are all about shop in store with tricks like that to outsiders, I'd rather go Trafford Centre. P.s. The parking is free at Trafford Centre.

The worst.

They stated to have stock that was not in and my kid got none of what I bought online and I ended up last min running around and spending more money .never again.

shockingly terrible

I brought a Zia 2 from toys are us and had put my child in it to get ready to go out and all of a sudden the pushchair had tipped over leaving my son with a bang on his head!

i took the pushchair back and explained what happened the manager had an attitude problem, explaining i do not want the pushchair the manager was saying well i have to send it back and that i might not be able to have a push chair and would be left with this dangerous pushchair that i did not want.

lucky my mom was there and she had a go at the manager and oh look one phone call the manager made i was able to swap the pushchair for a more safe one!

what happened to customer was always right toys are us need to learn some decent manners before serving people

Worst Toy Shop in the U.K

Visited the Medway store several times, I have no words for how shocking that place is, boxes and toys all over the floor, ALL the 'try me' ride on toys are smashed and broken and quite frankly dangerous. Not a single member of staff to be found anywhere in the store and only 1 till open!! at 2pm on a Saturday! Utter bedlam, full of angry customers. Nearly every box I picked up to look at had been opened and something had been stolen from it and worst of all are their prices, some of the items I went in to buy were £20-£30 more than other retailers. In a time of high competition and internet shopping there really is no excuse. Toysrus has the tears of many a disappointed child on its hands! Oh, and their gold card? Biggest waste of time ever, I know exactly where they can stick it!

I see some very bad experience from customers whol left opinions before me.
I purchased online. Did not ask questions did not phone so did not experience Bad Customer Serviece.

Shocking customer service

We bought a Peppa Pig inflatable bed for the odd occasions when our
little granddaughters come to our house. The bed was used once for a
week and was then packed away. When we got it out for a recent visit,
we blew it up only to find that there was a huge bump in the middle (as if a seam had gone) and our little granddaughter could not possibly lie on it. We asked Toys R Us if they would replace it or refund it. The store I bought it from told me they no longer sell them and told me to take it to a store which I am unable to get to. I have contacted them by email 5 times since then and each time they promise that the Store Customer Service Manager would contact me yet nobody has. This is disgusting customer service and I will not shop there again (I used to a lot so it's their loss) neither will I recommend them. Instead, I will advise my friends and family NOT to shop there.

MANCHESTER BABIES R US. DISGUSTING MANAGEMENT AND SERVICE

My husband and I purchased a £250 cot bed for our first baby. Despite the hefty price tag the company would not arrange a free delivery for us. We paid for a private delivery ourselves with reluctance, only to find the cot was damaged when we tried to assemble it. We called the branch expecting apologies and sympathy only to be told it wasn't their fault and would accept no liability for the damage or help with having another cot bed delivered. Their justification being that they only sold cots they didn't make them. They automatically blamed the delivery people for damaging the cot in transit even thought they had no proof or reason to believe it was damaged in transit. After asking to speak to the manager I was furious to be told they would do nothing about it we would have to arrange to bring the cot back to the store pick up another one and pay for another delivery. The manager was completely unprofessional,rude, defensive ,aggressive, obstinate and the worst style of management i have ever come across to say the least. She expressed no sympathy and gave no apologies for the inconvenience caused to us. I was shocked that the company would not even agree to pay for the cot to be picked up again. I will never shop here again. Had I received an apology or some kind of help towards delivery I would have been happy to shop there again but I will make my family, friends and acquaintances well aware of my experience with babies r us and will passionately refuse to shop there again.

Never shopping in toys r us again

Its not like me to get online to review customer service but my experience at toys r us has been so appalling that I feel compelled to write something. I bought a push chair for my wee girl and after 4 months one of the back wheels fell off whist she was sat in it. I took the push chair back and asked for a repair and was met with a rude and negative member of staff who bluntly informed me I would most likely have to pay for the repair as I had misused the buggy and damaged it myself. Already angry but 3 days later get a phone called telling me it is my fault and the repair will cost £51. The buggy itself cost £49.99! I asked to speak to the manager but I was informed she had gone on holiday and I asked for her name but the staff member refused to provide me with it. Fast forward - a phone call to customer complaints where i was again told that the staff must have assessed the buggy and found it to be my misuse. I asked for the evidence/criteria and was told 'I don't know, I'm not a technician...you must have abused the buggy, I don't know you or your child'. I was fuming - obnoxious, unprofessional, down right rude and probably flaunting consumer statutory tights but I am taking it further!!

Toys R Us will cancel your order - never shopping here again

So I jump online to order some toys for a kids birthday party, great! After placing my order, I was informed that it would take upto 4 working days (you can pay for express which costs a heck of a lot more)

Anyway after placing my order, I received an email to contact them because they were "concerned" about my order - i guess it was because some were duplicates and apparently this breaches their terms and conditions.

So i call them and explain it's for a birthday party. Advisor (who was fantastic btw) says great and will process my order. So it's becoming nearer to the date of the party and my order still has not been delivered.

Next, after what seems like a long long time, I get an email informing me my order has been cancelled... what?? Apparently

"We have concerns with releasing your order for despatch and have therefore cancelled your order.

We are unable to give specific details for why we cannot process your order"

So thats it - you are better off going elsewhere. I suggest Smyths as I've never had a problem with them

They never refund

They never refund, if they have to they issue the credit note so ultimately you end up buying their goods which is not the correct selling practice.

I will definitely void them and buy from the Amazon or eBay for my Kid's Toys

Loyalty - what loyalty?

The Toys R Us loyalty scheme is a joke. As you would expect you collect loyalty points with every purchase. Eventually you get a statement. but here is the trick/con. The earned points are converted into discount vouchers and not into credit to spend. The vouchers are specific to particular product so although the statement will advise that you have been issued £150 of coupons this will be made up of a coupon for £2 of this toy is you spend £20, £5 of that toy if you spend £50 etc. so you would have to spend a fortune on all sorts of rubbish to save £150 . You will be very lucky if infact you can use any coupon on something that you want. What a con - not even worth carrying the card.

Total nightmare! beware do not order furniture!

After shopping about at various baby shops we decided to purchase the Winnie the Pooh furniture bundle with matching toy box over £700 worth of goods. I took a day off work for delivery and my husband assembled firstly the toy box but it wouldn't close, then the cot but the drawer was damaged, then the wardrobe which seems fine, and finally attempted the dresser but this was also damaged. Contacted customer services and was told all parts would be delivered within 7 - 10 days, that was 5 weeks ago, i called last week, sorry it wasn't ordered properly, will do it again, still nothing so called this week, still wasn't ordered! However finally both parts arrived today but again the dresser side is damaged. Totally at my whits end with it, i had to take today off work again and don't get paid and will have to do it again when they deliver this side panel! I must be rich! Total nightmare, hopefully in another 7-10 days it might arrive, but will it be damaged for a third time? Yep probably no faith in them at all. Please think twice about ordering anything from them customer service is shocking!

Pathetic Customer Experience And Hassle Getting Refund

Purchased Xmas presents for kids booked 1 week before their cut off date. However, they never arrived - then arranged for a refund which I was promised I would get within 7 days. They then deliver the parcel on the 8th of January (by posting a note and leaving in the dustbin). Now I have to arrange for a recollection of the goods and then got to wait for another 7-10 days after they have received their goods. Throughout the whole process they just make it that its not their problem - its your problem and its you who has to do resolve it. I have 3 young kids - will never deal with again.

not always what it seems

Have used toysrus online ordering twice, first time the product description was different the actual product available but as it was a birthday present too late to change and customer services were unhelpful. Second time tried to buy two scooters for my twins, advertised at £39.99 online but when added to basket went in at £49.99 customer service response was that the deal had ended no hint as to why they were on the site at that price and no suggestion as to when the deal had ended. Very poor as an on line seller if you can't be sure what they are selling or at what price.
