I expected far better service

I selected the premium postage to Australia, in an attempt to have the item delivered within about a week and a half. The first issue was that the item ended up being on back order, with no feedback provided to me. I had to email Transair asking for a status update, and was informed of a back order at that time. Back orders are understandable, but it would have been courteous to be informed of this.

The second issue is that I provided a postal box address for shipment, however the website didn't specify that this premium postage would be with a courier service (DHL). They only deliver to street addresses. I've now had daily phone discussions with them, with another bad experience, and have not only failed to receive the item by the weekend, it's currently 'lost' in transit between them and the local Australia Post service.

We try to contact all of our customers who place orders for out of stock products. Unfortunately last week we had some members of staff out of the office attending a trade show, and this lead to a small delay in informing customers which we would like to apologise for. We regret that it is not currently possible to have real-time stock on our website, however, we are working on this issue, and will add it as soon as we can.

Whether DHL deliver to PO Box addresses varies from country to country. However, we should have spotted that they would have not been able to deliver this to you, and contacted you for your full address. Therefore, as a gesture of goodwill, we have refunded the difference between the express delivery that you have paid and the standard delivery charge.

Delayed goods

6 weeks of delay, due to stock shortage. Only warning is after the sale is complete and with no possibility to cancel the order.

Thank you for your review.

We regret to advise you that we were informed late last week that Jeppesen, the manufacturer of the charts that you had ordered, have had a problem in producing the new 2013 editions and that it will take them a minimum of six weeks to resolve this issue. Unfortunately, we have now run out of the 2012 edition and will be out of stock until the 2013 versions become available. Upon receiving the information regarding the delay, we immediately started to inform by email all of our customers who had placed an order for these charts of this unforeseen delay. An email was sent to you on the 9th, which was the earliest opportunity that we had to do this after receiving the news.

Please note that this delay will effect all Jeppesen stockists and not just Transair.

We state in our website Terms and Conditions (http://www.transair.co.uk/pu+Terms-and-Conditions+terms+1), “if for any reason we cannot deliver your order within this time period we will contact you immediately to inform you of the new delivery date, if this doesn't suit you, you may cancel your order." We have not received an email or telephone request from you asking us to do this. However, in response to your review we have cancelled your order. No funds will be taken from your card as we only charge for products at the point of despatch.

No stock!

Wanted to purchase a Bose Helicopter headset at £915, despite the sale being available neither the straight or coiled lead version was available. They did have the shirts I required though. Purchased the headset from a competitor.

Please accept our apologies for not having the headsets you required at the time of your order. We try to keep a good stock of all the BOSE headsets, and we order from them on a regular basis. Unfortunately, stock forecasting is not an exact science and we sometimes run out of one or two types before the next order arrives.

Fast delivery, not the item I was expecting, slow to respond to complaint

I've used Transair for years for charts etc. Always fab. Last week I ordered a flight case - not something you buy often, so you want to get it right...
What was delivered was not as advertised - smaller, less functional; so I emailed the same day to complain. Not a dicky-bird in response, not even an acknowledgement - that's just not good enough.
I sit here waiting, with a flight bag that's useless.

Sold a different bag to one pictured.

Needed a new flight bag as the handle disintegrated inside a year so decided to get the previous bag that lasted much better. Saw the bag I wanted advertised by Transair so bought it on line. Transair sent me the inferior bag that broke inside a year instead of the one pictured in their advert. When I rang up to complain they said they had sent the wrong bag by mistake. Later that day they rang back to say that that bag was discontinued but they hadn't changed the advert picture to the correct one. Either abysmal service or dodgy sales practice!

Very competitive prices and great service.

I needed some RAM mounts for motorcycle use. After some indifferent experiances from sellers on a certain auction site, it was great to find a company that not only holds all items in stock, but also packs and posts straight away. You might be able to save a few pennies elseware, but you wont get an allround service as good as this.

Perfect!

I have ordered 2 Garmin Glo Aviation packs via Transair.
Although there was a delay in acceptance of my payment, communication about this issue was fluent, correct, and quick. From the day the payment was accepted, the order was shipped to Belgium, and about 0.5 week later, I received the products.

Not very good

Needed a standard battery for a GPS and they don't carry stock . Bought a GPS in late 2011 and the battery has now failed. Checked with <external link removed> and they say the unit has been on Transair's shelf since 2009 and therefore not covered under warranty. Order and paid for a new one but they are quoting 6 weeks.

We regret to advise that batteries are not covered under the warranty of any product.

At the time that you placed the order, we were waiting for an order to arrive from the manufacturer who were also out of stock. Ordinarily this supplier is very good and we have all the items we order within a week of placing it. It is unfortunate that circumstances conspired to cause a longer than usual delay for this product. In the end the order arrived within 4 weeks of your placing it not the 6 weeks originally stated by the supplier.

We regret that we are not currently able to display real time stock on our website. We are working on this and will add it to our site as soon as we are able.

If you want the best service, these are the people to do business with !!!

I had been looking for a suitable plastic polish for the windscreens of our bikes and couldn't find one that did everything I needed, until I found the Transair website.
In only a few minutes I found what I had been searching for, AeroShell Flight Jacket "PLEXICOAT". It takes out all of the spider web type scratches that are usually left after cleaning, to leave an almost perfectly clear view through your screen (only stone chips remain, but there's very little that can be done about them).
Transair are also a perfect choice, the Plexicoat arrived the day after I ordered it, which I really wasn't expecting.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Transair to anyone, their service is second to none and their prices are very reasonable.
