We booked our honeymoon 9 yrs ago to penang and couldnt fault them and then booked them in 2006 going to Hong Kong and penang with a baby and still v good and now having 3 children one a baby we are probably going to penang again in aug haven't booked it yet but wouldn't go anywhere else for a holiday in asia! People are helpful and v friendly! !
The company spelled my last name wrong for my ticket and when I noticed on the confirmation email, they tried to make it seem like it was my fault. I had the hardest time getting a hold of them to see if they even could change it to what my last name really was. After a huge hassle they charged me nearly 100 pounds to get it changed and were completely rude about it. Then when I got to the airport, the name on my ticket still wasn't changed. Don't trust them.
We recently booked a hotel through Travelbag having used their service before, to Borneo via Malaysia. The trip was to see my ailing Uncle and a short break for myself and my wife. It was all a little last minute as my Uncle's diagnosis was very close to his passing in the end.
Unfortunately we had to cancel the trip due to finding that my wife was pregnant within a week of booking. Prior to cancelling I did check their cancellation policy and my insurance status.
It then became obvious they use a sliding scale cancellation charge depending upon how close to the date of travel you cancel. By the time we cancelled, 5 weeks prior to the date of travel the fee was around 65% of the total cost, minus the fee for using a credit card!!!!!
In my opinion this is rediculous given the amount of work they have done when the holiday is booked online and there is still sufficient time to book new customers.
Furthermore when calling their company to cancel there was no answer repeatedly and subsequently I had to converse via email which given the situation was not ideal. And they still managed to appear rude on email!!!
I also consider the circumstances sufficient reason to provide a full refund as the inability to receive the relevant vaccinations, due to complications with pregnancy, are definitely extinuating circumstances.
Unfortunately my opinion of them has dropped considerably and I will never use them again and be reporting them to ABTA.
PLEASE BE CAREFUL, CHECK THE CANCELLATION POLICY!!!

booked a 4 night stay in new york with travelbag in october. i spoke to them on the phone to confirm that there was a room available with twin beds as i didnt want to share a bed with my 17yo son. she assured me there was. when the paperwork came through it was a little ambigious so i phoned again. again she assured me it was a twin bed room. i had to give some info to the hotel and when i contacted them they said the room had only one king size bed! went back to travelbag and spoke to one of their managers who said they would look into it and calll me back (apparently they use a 3rd party to book hotels and blamed them). she didnt call me back. over the next month i called her 4 times. each time she promised to call me back. she called me back exactly ZERO times. in the end i had to upgrade direct with the hotel which cost me $137. i wont use travelbag again. if i spend 1400$ with a company i think i'm entitled to some customer service.

I booked a last minute holiday with travelbag, who were very keen to help in taking my money from me. I arrived in Bankok to find there was no transfer waiting for me as promised and paid for, after calling the uk several times after a long flight, I finally managed to get the telephone number of the transfer company, that didn't speak English. Travelbag are SO HELPFUL! They didn't even offer to call the company for me Ben tho it was heir fault, causing me a massive phone bill! I had o pay for a private taxi transfer in addition to the cost of my holiday. They have issued me with a refund for my phone charges eventually, but I certainly won't use them, EVER AGAIN! In addition to this, their customer care on return to the UK is shocking!!!!!!
Appalled at the service I've received from Travelbag - OK I understand that flight availability is unpredictable, but the fact that they take 3 days to let a customer know is pretty much a joke. Plus it is less than transparent when you book on the website. I only noticed there was a 72h delay when they emailed me after I paid for my trip. After 72H my flights were cancelled and was left with skyrocketed prices.
Their customer service is useless and almost rude. Had to rant on Facebook to have their attention but even like this, they weren't even apologetic. It is about time they rethought the stone age processes they currently have in place. Ended up booking with Expedia!

My son booked a short trip with this company. He advised the agent that he was travelling to London next day to get his fiancé's visa from the Austrian embassy, as she is a Chinese national. They happily took full payment in cash. However after visiting the embassy they discovered that a Chinese National had to apply for a visa in China and were therefore not given a visa. They informed Travel Bag within twenty minutes of being given the information, Sadly Travel bag showed no interest at all, all they did was state that there were no refunds on air travel, they did not even pretend to have any sympathy for this young couple who had their honeymoon ruined.

I would just like to thank TravelBag for booking my holidays and at such short notice, we had a fantastic time and we are looking to book another one with them soon.
Will be booking with them again as its a going to be a tricky one to organise as I am taking my children and grandchildren with me on the next one, so need someone i can trust. Once again id like to thank them and look forward to dealing with them again very soon.
I also thought I was buying a flight from this company through Skyscanners only to discover that I was paying to for a reservation that they told me the following day had gone up by £50, they had already taken payment and that I would have to wait until they refunded it. Excuse me but when was it ok to take money for a service you can't provide? AVOID these scammers and shame on Skyscanner for allowing them on site.

I hadn't heard of Travelbag before but after being transferred through the reputable Skyscanner I wrongly thought they must be decent enough. The price advertised (£2180) was only slightly cheaper then other better know travel websites but I decided to go for it. I received my order email confirmation etc no problem.
The following day I received a phone call to tell me that the flight I thought I had booked wasn't available and that Travelbag wanted an extra £52 off me to confirm the booking on the same flight.... I declined their generous offer of the same flight for the extra money and I was told that they would cancel the payment allocation. In short this means the money hasn't actually left me account but I can't access the money now for several days until the bank has acted on their request. What annoys me is that they can instantly reserve the money for themselves but they then cant give it back with anywhere near enough efficiency. I don't have many multiples of £2,180 in my account so I can't now book anything until the money is available again.... And by then who knows what the prices will be... This company is a waste of time.

I have arranged a surprise birthday travel for my husband. He has been travelling a lot for work so I though it will be great to go away and relax. I work long hours and therefore rather than arranging my holiday I thought I would ask an agent to sort our holiday out for us.
When I was making the booking, I clarified that my husband had two names and I gave one of his name on his passport. I have been told by Ruth Overton (one of the agent in Travel Bag) that will be ok. However, as soon as I told my husband my surprise and show him the tickets, he said that his name on the ticket may cause a problem as it was showing his second name.
When I called Travel Bag, and explained the situation I have been shouted by Sarah (another agent) and not even been allowed to speak. She said she cannot help me and I had to wait until Ruth, who arranged my holiday, to come back from her holiday. I was shock with the miss treatment and the insult I received from Sarah as I was being accused as I provided missing informations.
Finally, Ruth comes back from her holiday and called me, left me a message saying the additional cost for new tickets and so on.
I have never been stressed out like this before any of my holidays. I own a company and customer satisfaction is the first point on our list. Clearly it’s not the same case with Travel Bag, money is the first and last thing in their book.
I would like to warn you before making any bookings do not believe what they say, read even the smallest prints possible as they may come back with more charges...

I had a great experience with these guys flights where booked well in advance and no hassle at all
Do not book if the price is too cheap to be true.
It only means that booking will fail after 3 days and your money will take another 7 days to be refunded. after which the price of your filght/hotel would have gone up more than you orginally planned.

It was the first time the me and my wife have been to the Maldives which was for are 5th wedding anniversary which we both agreed that it was by far the most beautiful place that we have ever seen.
We noticed a similar deal with Kuoni however after a quick phone call to Travelbag the confimed that they could beat there price by a over £380! So this was a no brainer, we will be back and use them again.
