This website was easy to navigate but I needed to ring the hotel for a twin room. The lady(Edith) at Hilton PArk M6 Southbound was an excellent representative of the company. She was 100%effiecient, polite, knowledgeable and professional. She is the epitomy of good customer service. Sadly the website made it impossible for me to leave feedback about this amazing member of staff. It redirected me to FAQ's etc and wouldn't let me simply priase their staff.
Great site, never a problem with bookings - but the quality varies hugely from one to another. I never book without checking TripAdvisor and therefore have only gone wrong once - Bath Central - hideous.
has really gone downhill. Rooms not cleaned properly. Will never stay here again, having used them extensively in the past.
I tried to spend the night at the Travelodge at London Euston at the end of 2011 for a Business Event, and when I returned to the hotel room later that night someone else was asleep in my bed, and so ended up trying to sleep sitting in the hotel bar until the first train home in the morning! After much too-ing and fro-ing I received a voucher entitling me to money off the next time I stayed with them. Earlier this week I tried to redeem the voucher but the site wouldn't let me log on - it kept on telling me my password was incorrect. Five times I reset my password and five times I got the same "Password is incorrect" message. I have tried to contact customer services for assistance and can't get through to anyone. I have also tried to book the room over the phone directly with the hotel and get told because I have an e-voucher I must book it on line. I have called the woman whose name is on the bottom of some correspondence I received from them, and this morning I receive an e-mail telling me that they refuse to call me. If Travelodge is no. 155 in the category Travel & Holidays on this site I shudder to think what the lower ones must be like!
Found a deal on website, went to book through rewards scheme and found the rate was more than double!
For budget accommodation, Travelodge have gone from good value for money to simply not worth the price, however cheap. Can't fault the staff, but yet to experience worse accommodation.
If you're not at all fussy about accommodation standards then maybe they're okay for you.
I tried to book a Travelodge stay using My Travelodge but there was a problem with credit card authorisation. I called Central Reservations, who for some reason did something with my account. Travelodge can't fix it, so I can't access my booking history, print out receipts etc.
If you are a business user, don't book this way. It's not reliable and Travelodge will not give you any support if you get problems
To start with, the booking system is very poor. Charged £1.50 cancellation insurance and then find they will not let you cancel. All kinds of T&C that prevent cancellation or refund so beware.
My daughter stayed for a few nights at Travelodge Farnborough. If you are an unaccompanied female just DON'T go there if you wish to feel safe. No hotel parking, but multi-storey next door. However, if you wish to park overnight this can only be done from 8.00pm onwards. This means you get to the hotel, park but need to revisit the car park at 8.00pm. She was subjected to harassment from groups of youths hanging around outside the hotel and by 'men' staying there. "I fancy a it of that" one shouted at her as she booked in.
Rooms very basic, facilities poor and I repeat - not for the unaccompanied female - avoid like the plague.
Everytime I have booked a room through Travelodge they have wanted in excess of £50.00.
Lets get this straight first of all - they are a cheap motel, nothing else. They have no public facilities, lounges, bar, restaurant etc, just a reception and very basic rooms. So why am I paying prices that a 3 star Hotel charge?
Then there are their 2 websites running side by side. Use the one that starts www2 as the other is woefully slow and doesn't work correctly with Firefox or Google Chrome.
The customer service over the phone is reasonable although they are limited on the information they can give and also remedial methods should the website break mid transaction and mess up your booking.

In all the Travelodge's my wife and I have stayed at we have never had a bad experience in the UK and abroad. Some people moan about stuff but take a step back and think for the price you paid (sometimes £15) did you get your £15's worth? As long as its half clean and tidy and I can shower in the morning that's fine with me if I'm paying peanuts.
It's like anything ... if you a pay £5 for a meal you wouldn't expect Michelin Star Cuisine.
However having said that I have been happy with Travelodge providing OVER my money's worth - including tea and coffee making facilities. In the States we stayed in one with a safe and microwave in the room.... always clean tidy and does what it says on the tin, no more no less...
If Im looking to book a room in a major city in the UK. I will have a look on travelodge to see if any cheap rooms are available. They may not be the best, but they are usually very clean. I like to think its better the devil you know than the devil you dont.
I was, by no stretch of the imagination, expecting the Hilton. I have used Travelodge hotels many times over, yet I have never experienced such rude, unwilling, unhelpful, de-motivated staff. This experience was made worse by the poorly maintained room. Very poor.
Travelodge Edinburgh Airport is a decent enough place in a modern new build. There is only sound proofing on the airport side despite planes going over head and can be heard on the other side of the hotel.
It is close enough to the airport and a taxi can be booked by the hotel probably cheapest option but the transport into the city is not the best. Buses don't always run frequently but I would recommend getting the first bus service as these are generally quicker than the 48 which is every 40 minutes.
TOP TIP: take your own mug or cup with you, either bring one or buy a cheap one once in Edinburgh. I know for a fact that this hotel in particular runs out of cleaning products on a regular basis and it is not unknown for the staff to be told to clean everything including the mugs with TOILET BLEACH bought from the local Scotmid.
Needed to cancel a flexible booking but the website would not complete the cancellation. It provided a phone number which was unrecognised. Customer services was very hard to contact and eventually sent me an email telling me to ring another number, which I did and was then told to ring the first unrecognised number! I am assured by them that the booking has been cancelled and my money repaid but it still shows as live on the website. Will never book with them again.

My experience of staying in Travelodge is that they are usually acceptable but not brilliant. Low cost which is a positive. Worst experience was being told when asking for an extra pillow that it was not possible due to being a Friday night which is a busy night for them! Overall not too bad though and would use them again.
Prices are great with travelodge but their rooms are extremely dirty and old which I did not enjoy it. However, as I just sleep there for a few hours not spending much time. The price beats the quality of standard I require lol
