THEY HAVE A BOGUS COMPLAINT PROCEDURE AND CENSOR OUT BAD REVIEWS
Travel Republic booked for us a hotel that had blood and urine stained mattresses with a dangerous metal spike protruding, a rusting and enamel peeling bath, a bedroom carpet covered in coffee stains, at times the only restaurant up two steep flights of stairs with no lifts, a small bedroom up a steep staircase with no banister, no heated pool when one was advertised, dangerous children's facilities, forced to share your table at the restaurant with other people and when we lodged a complaint, rude and unhelpful reception staff. When the matter was taken further, the hotel would not respond and would not offer compensation and Travel Republic would do nothing about it either. However Travel Republic state they are ABTA registered and say they follow a complaint procedure, but when we followed it right to the end it proved to be a charade as at the end they said none of it applied because they were acting as an 'agent'.
