I wouldn't touch this company with a barge pole! Their customer service is either completely unresponsive or very poor. Eg. I repeatedly requested a window seat using their customer service email address and they never responded. Their telephone customer service is on one of those ridiculous 0871 high cost numbers which is 50p per minute, they take ages to answer the call and their staff an inept at dealing with queries. My partner had his passport stolen and was assured by Adam, a representative, that he could change his return flight but to be only later informed when enquiring about a date change that they couldn't change it. He raised the matter with Mustafa at Customer Relations who didn't even bother replying to several emails. In summary, even if they offer a cheap flight, DO NOT USE THEM!!!
Business model: Book online tickets, don't issue e-tickets, make customers to buy a new one for a higher price. If asked for refund postpone it for ever.
Stay away from this company. Steve Johnson you are a theft. You and your "company".
Lesson learnt: Check reviews first. Trust me. Wisdom of the crowds...
I booked flights from Manchester to Chicago in June with TravelUp on April 28th. 2 days later I got a phone call telling me the price I had been quoted, and which I had paid using my credit card, was unavailable due to 'withdrawal by the airline' (US Airways). The operator, going by the name Steve Johnson said he could get me a 'good deal' on alternative flights the same day, for 'only' £63 more, and as a 'goodwill gesture' he would waive the card charges. At this point I asked for a refund, as I am unable to pay any more until I get paid in 2 weeks time, and by now I wasn't convinced they wouldn't suddenly cancel my flights again.
He then sent me through by email details of the new flights, and charges, as well as an offer to cancel the booking - initially telling me it would cost me £33 in cancellation charges. After a couple of emails querying this charge, when I am only cancelling the booking due to TravelUp's inability to honour the booking, I was told I would receive a full refund in '5-7 working days'.
I wait with baited breath...
I only wish I had read some reviews before booking with this company. I was redirected to their site by SkyScanner, a site I have been using to find cheap flights for years, and (somewhat naively, with hindsight) trusted to get me a good deal.
Have a look at where they are supposed to be based on Streetview: it is a corner shop and the call centre is in India. Never book a flight with anyone who is not ABTA and always use a credit card so you are covered by the Consumer Credit Act. In haste, I did neither of these things and am now repenting at leisure. I booked a flight to Miami with British Airways through TravelUp in March. I booked World Traveller plus which is BA's version of Premium Economy. BA have a standard policy of overselling any premium seats, the plane was full and I was downgraded. As my contract is with TravelUp and BA's contract is with TravelUp, BA owe TravelUp a refund and TravelUp owe me a refund. This is correct and I have confirmed this with Citizens Advice and sought independent legal advice.
When I first contacted TravelUp they told me to send them a copy of the ticket from Ba which shows I was downgraded and they will arrange a refund. They advised me that I could send this via e-mail. I emailed them on April 2nd and received an automated response saying they respond to 97% of enquiries within 48 hours. After a week I telephoned them to chase the enquiry and asked to be put through to a manager. I was put through to someone called Ken who said it was my fault for accepting the downgrade and that I need to contact BA. Ken would not let me speak, shouted at me and left me feeling very upset. I contacted BA again and Citizens advice who confirmed it is TravelUp who owe me the fee. I called them again several times and each time I was lied to, had the phone put down on me or was shouted at. I sent several emails but never got a response.
I decided that I would not just let this go and that I would write to them in the post threatening legal action. Before I did this I telephoned them pretending that I wanted to buy first class tickets to Miami and recorded the call using the voice memo function on my phone. I asked what would happen if I was downgraded. "George" who I spoke with said that "it is impossible" to be downgraded. I explained I had been downgraded in the past and asked if it happened and my contract was with TravelUp and not the airline, who would be responsible for getting me the refund. George confirmed that TravelUp would get me the refund. He then said again that I haven't got to worry because if they supply me a seat then that class of seat is gauranteed. I explained that on British Airway's website it states that no premium seats are guaranteed and that I could be downgraded. George then again confirmed that TravelUp would process the refund and that this would take 6-7 days before I receive a refund. I asked if this was stated anywhere on TravelUp's website. George said that the call is recorded and he guarantees that what he is saying is correct.
I explained that I had purchased a ticket and been downgraded and was due a refund. I also explained that I was recording the call. After putting me on hold for a few minutes George came back on the phone and again try to assure me that whatever class of ticket i booked through them was guaranteed. As he clearly hadn't grasped what I was saying, I gave him my previous booking reference and asked if the class was guaranteed why had I been downgraded and why weren't they processing my refund? Again I was put on hold. Another chap came on the phone, also saying he was called George. I had been on the phone for 20 minutes now! This George tried to tell me what Ken had said on day one and that they had done nothing wrong and that I had to speak to BA. After me explaining for 5 minutes that my contract was with them and that I had not received what I had paid for and that I was recording the call and would start legal action he finally said that they would start to process the refund and would get back to me today.
The whole experience has been really disappointing. ATOL only protect against the airline going bust. Trading Standards aren’t interested as they treat it as a civil dispute. Citizens Advice can only tell you to write to the company threaten legal action and then go to the court. After that they will not give any legal advice. If TravelUp don’t get back to me, I have to go to the courts to start a civil action. The judge can decide that they are in breach of contract but he can’t necessarily make them pay me anything. I would then probably have to start a petition to wind them up. Most people do not have the inclination or determination to go as far as I have and the web is full of damning reports on this company. Stay well clear.
I wish I had seen these reviews of this company before I booked a return flight with them.
I called and tried to rearrange my return flight as I wanted to extend my holiday. The person I spoke to on the phone barely spoke a word of English and was one of the most unhelpful and useless people I have ever spoken to.
I WILL AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE.
DISGUSTING SERVICE:
They changed the flights dates, then we we called to ask why they cut me off, even the manager put me on hold for 40 mins, when I rang back they said he was not working. They then changed my flights back but to a different airport, it was only when I googled the directors details and asked to speak to him the sorted the flights out
But saying this they did have the best prices and were easy to book with
I booked flights to travel to Orlando with them as they were the cheapest around by about £100. I booked on 21st March 2013. I received a confirmation email and all was fine until I got a call on 28th march 2013 from a representative of the company to tell me that unfortunately when I booked my flights at 11pm on 21st march 2013, the price had changed at midnight (1 hour after I booked) and as a result I would have to pay £350 more. I asked why I had to pay more as the price only changed an hour after I had booked and paid and surely the price I paid had to be honoured. At this point he was very aggressive and I had to ask him numerous times to stop shouting at me.
At first I thought it was a hoax call, maybe somebody trying to get my to disclose my card details over the phone as the guy didn't even know the details of my booking. He told me it was for 4 adults and 1 child, when it was in fact for 3 adults, 1 child and 1 infant. He only knew the flight was to the USA and didn't know the dates of travel.
I was on the phone for 25 minutes trying to understand what was going on as he was talking very fast and kept putting me on hold claiming that he was 'looking for a good deal for me'. I told him in the end that I just wanted a refund as I was unhappy to deal with his company. I also asked why it had took them a week since I had booked to contact me, to which he replied he had been off sick.
He told me that the money would be refunded to my card in 3 working days. That was 28th march. I emailed him directly on 4th April and submitted a web enquiry form asking about my refund. He completely ignored my email and despite getting an automated email saying 97 percent of emails are responded to within 24 hours, i am still awaiting a reply. I rang again on 5th April (as it had been Easter bank holiday in between) as the money had still not been refunded. He told me it would be in by 8th April. 8th April I rang again to be told another 3 working days. friday 12th April I rang again to be told it would be today.
I looked up details to complain on the company website and it says that in emergencies to contact Mr. Ken or Mr. Sam and provides mobile numbers. The first mobile number for Mr. Sam rang out and whoever answered told me I had the wrong number. The second number for Mr. Ken was indeed him. I explained my problem and he told me he would call me back-this was last Friday 12th April. I am still waiting for his call.
I am worried sick I will not get the money back as it has now been just short of a month and it is over £3000. I can't book anymore flights until I get the money back and at this rate the flights are going to be that expensive that we won't be able to go.
0n January 9th 2013 I booked two return flights from Glasgow to Mazatlan (Mexico) through Skyscanner and travelup .co.uk. for travel commencing Saturday13/4/2013. Whilst they were marginally cheaper (ONLY A FEW £) than other travel agents they have certainly proved that saving pennies results in angst, worry and uncertainty.
Our flights are with Air France and Aero Mexico (both members of the Sky Team).
On February 22nd I received confirmation of our booking from KLM.
Then on April 4th I received notification from Air France advising me of time changes to my flights.
I am a Flying Blue member which meant I could access my flight information.
This I did and had chosen seats for three legs of the journey. (Aero Mexico and Flybe not allowing me to do this at that time)
All was well until Thursday 11th April (just 40 hours before we had to leave for our first flight) when I received an URGENT email from Travel Up notifying me of these changes.
It took them at least a full week to realise that schedules had changed!
I was asked to respond in an email saying whether or not these changes were acceptable whereupon my new e-tickets could be issued.
One hour after this email was written I replied saying the changes were acceptable.
Problem solved you might think, not so.
The automated email I received in response stated they hope to respond to 97% of their mail within 48hrs.
Still feeling confident that Travel Up were working behind the scenes to fulfil their contract with me and organise my flights I went about packing etc.
Thirty hours before our first flight was due to take off I went on the internet to Manage My Booking to book seats for our Flybe flight only to discover that out of six separate flights we were only booked on two.
Travel Up had duly cancelled all other four flights.
This morning (Friday 12th April at 9.10am) I called them.
What a gross waste of time!
The gentleman I spoke to was totally unhelpful and obstructive.
He refused to take my booking reference and kept repeating the same phrases as though he were an automaton reading from a script without the intelligence or authority to deviate from it.
Then he rung off!
I had appointments to keep, as well you might imagine on the eve of my departure.
I had to ask my husband to deal with the matter from offshore Mozambique.
He duly phoned and got the same run around.
Into the bargain the operator was downright rude.
All credit to KLM and The Sky Team who my husband called in Amsterdam.
They took time to listen to our plight and did everything in their power to resolve the situation.
After a twenty minute phone call (at expensive rates between Mozambique and Amsterdam) KLM had the problem sorted.
Many thanks KLM.
I would in no way, shape or form recommend Travel Up to anyone.
They are totally unprofessional, incompetent and downright rude.
I WILL NEVER USE THE 'SERVICES' OF THIS SHOWER AGAIN.
TRAVELLERS BE WARNED.
IGNORE THIS AT YOUR PERIL.
I booked a ticket with them on Lufthansa for 370 pounds. A couple of days later I checked on checkmytrip and found that the outbound leg didn't exist! I called them they said they would check, then said that Lufthansa had made a schedule change. They said they would refund my ticket in 6-8 weeks once Lufthansa had paid them! I told them to refund the ticket immediately as I was dealing with them and not Lufthansa and I wasn't interested whether they were refunded by Lufthansa or not! I emailed them, spoke to them twice and nearly 4 weeks later, they are not interested at all. I will probably have to get a CCJ against them.
They say that there are seats available at a specific price, but then try to charge you three times as much. Never book with them!
Scandalous company, advertising totally fictitious prices! They say 'good availability' on selected seats but they are mysteriously 'sold out' when you phone and then they quote a MUCH higher price (almost double). The website is also a con, it looks like your going to be able to book the flights but when you go through to the payment page the price shoots up, if you didn't notice you could end up booking at a much higher price! Representatives are incredibly rude and patronising when you phone making out you're stupid for even thinking you can get flights at the advertised price! Awful that they are allowed to continue trading and awful that skyscanner continues to include them in searches!
I paid TravelUp £1000 for tickets to Phuket (from London) and received an email saying that the payment hasn't gone through. I then followed the instructions and attempted a second payment. I received confirmation of payment from SagePay and TravelUp. The next day, I received an email saying that payment hadn't gone through. I forwarded my confirmation and they said 'oh yeah it has gone through you'll received an e-ticket in 48 hours. 1 week later they call to say that they can't sell me the ticket for that price because they took too long to process the booking and they'll refund the money to me. My flight is in less than a month and tickets are now more than £100 extra. The man on the phone wouldn't even apologise and said it wasn't his fault.
These clowns run a so-called help desk that will do everything they can to make your life miserable. Cannot be trusted to get your reservation right and will redirect you to nowhere if you ever need to get a hold of them!
STAY AWAY!!!
I booked the other day with Travelup and after checking reviews, I was terrified! I didn't receive a confirmation email and they didn't take the money out of my account after a day and a half, so I phoned them. Staff on the phone were polite enough and told me I would have my eticket by the end of the day. It arrived. They took the correct amount of money. I've checked on the Delta website and all of my flights are booked appropriately. Can't complain about them.
Although I saw my flight listed slightly cheaper today! (Can't win them all!)
I was trying to book an urgent ticket (26/04/13) but the Uptravel website would not let me and the message says to ring them directly. I called the number and the automated answering machine told me that waiting time is 10 seconds. that message kept repeating for about 20 minutes until a rather rude person answered the phone only to tell me that flights to my desired destination are handled by a different office!!! and that he will give them my number to call me back in 20 minutes !!!! I waited about 35 minutes and when there was no call back I rang again only to get the answering machine telling me that the office is now closed. The man is a liar who just wanted to go home and not interested in the business. what other office is he talking about?? will I call them again to offer them my money for their rubbish service and unreliable website? I think not. I booked elsewhere.
Trying to make changes to my booking involved endless referrals on their helpline, all resulting in being cut-off or sent to a voicemail message. The one person that sounded like he knew what he was talking about said it was a bad line (I could hear him perfectly), told me he'd call me back, but never did.
I only used this site as I was redirected from Skyscanner which I have used before and know to be reputable. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for Travelup; and it was only when encountering booking problems did I do some research and realise the company had such poor feedback. Lesson learnt. More worryingly, when trying to pay for a booking my Visa debit card was declined and when I rang the bank to find out why, they explained Visa had flagged my card details as being 'compromised' and had blocked the card. I had used the card all day with no problems - Visa only blocked it when I entered the details into the Travelup website. I now have to order a replacement card and in the meantime I have no debit card. Full marks to Visa but if they are so concerned about this site why is it still allowed to operate? Please BEWARE and I would urge you to book elsewhere and NOT provide them with any card details.
Read all the bad reviews and reluctantly booked flights through travelup as the price was competitive, and they could offer us exactly what we were looking for. A friendly and helpful chap called David Brooks spent over 30 minutes trying to build a complex itinerary to New Zealand from UK via rural China. He succeeded where other agents had failed (often quoting £1000 more).
The line cut off a couple times prompting a little concern but he phoned back immediately.
The e-ticket looked a little unofficial so there was a little ongoing anxiety after the purchase but everything went smoothly.
I suspect people are more likely to leave a review if they have a bad experience than if they have a good one - or were we just lucky?
By far the worst agency I have has the mis-pleasure of dealing with. Booking the flights was acceptable via their website, but it all went wrong from there. No confirmation was sent, meaning a call to the call centre, who's grasp of the English Language was poor at best. Finally conformation was issued after several phone calls.
Due to a change in circumstances we then contacted Travel Up to see if we could turn the flight into a one way ticket. This involved several calls, promised return phone calls (which didn't happen) only to find out this was not possible.
We then decided to cancel the flight. Several more phone calls following the above happened. Eventually somebody advised us that we could, but a refund for tax would take 8 weeks! 10 weeks later I contacted them to see where the refund was, only to be sent an email asking to confirm card details. I did this, and finally we are getting a refund of £129 on a £750 ticket.
Please avoid. A truly awful company that I never wish to have to deal with again in my life. I actually hope they go out of business, I know I would if I conducted business like this.
I made a booking thru their site and they did not advise me I needed a transit visa due to which I had a made a new booking at the last time incurring a loss of £ 300. And when I contacted them on the flight date, they just hangup the phone leaving me stranded on the airport . Also they havent replied to email till now ..
Please avoid this company. Pay a bit extra to go with a decent Travel agency if you can. They failed to contact us and inform us that our flight had been cancelled which left us stranded on Christmas day at Gatwick Airport. There was no transport running due to it being a publci holiday. They have no idea of how to treat customers and are obviously surviving on one off customers using them, because I would be shocked if anyone having used them once would ever go back to them. They are rude and patronising when you contact them regarding a problem. They have failed to reply to our emails and put us on hold when they cant answer our questions. AVOID THEM, DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND USE A REPUTABLE BUSINESS. I only wish we had seen these reviews before booking our holiday via them.
Please, please read through all the disasters people have had dealing with what I would call "illlegal" company !!! Absolute cowboys in all aspects, thieves, robbers, no customer service at all !!! They have just quite simply cancelled my flight even though it's been booked and confirmed since 2nd December and paid in full. The reason ...... Because they didn't charge me enough !!! I am now minus a holiday come 29th December, I am taking this to the highest extreme to get this company closed down....... BEWARE..... SCAMMERS
I was compelled to come here to warn people. The low price they quote is an absolute fraud, as they are littered with hidden costs. They incorrectly booked our families Christmas holiday ticket and then charged us over £500 to correct the tickets.... Ok then, if you try to cancel, they add a further £400 in hidden admin fees vs.(Even the airline were shocked, as they only charge a nominal fee). All of this, even after alerting them within 6 hours of them issuing tickets. It's like they purposely engineer it so you will pay hidden fees to them.
The sad part is, your credit card company or insurance will not likely cover you for negligence of an agent. AVOID TRAVELUP - They are are a complete Fraud !
Edinburgh-Perth(AU)
Pricing was competitive and flight times and choice of companies were excellent.
Internal flights with BA and international flights with Qatar Airways.
There was a slight booking hiccup with return flight from London to Heathrow.
I emailed them and an automated reply said my query would be dealt with within 24 hours. Sure enough, 20 hours later, I received an email assuring me that the flights had now been rearranged and that I would receive my updated tickets shortly.
Admittedly, I have not had to deal with this company when something has gone seriously wrong. Yet, I would be happy to use or at least compare them again when next I go away.
They seem to take customer service very seriously.
In summary, I enjoyed a stress free holiday with Travel up. What more can you ask for?
I booked tickets with them couple of weeks ago and was traveling to Asia. However, due to unforeseen circumstances I missed my flight. When I contact my airlines (Qatar Airways) they advised me that I need to pay £100 p/p extra to book the next flight but also advised me I have to contact Travelup (as they were the main ticket issuers). When I did contact TravelUP they were asking me £665 p/p. Even the Qatar Airways representatives at the airport were shocked and they said definitely they are trying to rip me off as they realised I was desperate.....
Anyways...never dealt with them as I booked a new ticket from Emirates and flew that very day...
So please stay away from them if possible..Thanks
TravelUp are the worst customer service company I have ever encountered (I had the phone put down on me twice).
They are informed of flight schedule changes and also cancellations by the airlines and then fail to notify customers of these changes until it is too late.
I gave them the opportunity to investigate and explain and hopefully make good there errors, however they failed miserably and tried to tell me they had contacted me.
I sorted out my airline problems direct with the airline, as I did not trust them to do the right thing for me.
As above. Did not reply to the three emails I sent, and when contacted made excuses. Completely unacceptable.
I made a flight booking on travelup. I got an email confirmation saying my booking was successful. A little while later I noticed there was no charge on my card despite the email listing how much I had been charged. I called and was told that because I'd never responded to an email asking for a bank card security code (a. which I'd never received, not even to my spam folder and b. who does that via email?), they'd cancelled my flight booking. They had never even sent me any correspondence to tell me I needed to provide any info, or even that they had cancelled my booking! When I told a manager this on the phone he just HUNG UP on me! Never again!
I booked flights from Scotland to Sri Lanka back in May then a few weeks ago I got an email saying the flight had changed and we now had to spend a night in London, after a weeks for terrible customer service where they said they would sort it out and get back to us we eventually cancelled the flights had to book other ones at twice the cost. Despite the cancellation not being our fault they are still charging 150 pounds and after 4 weeks we had chased up the refund and they have said it will take another 12 weeks. The staff are awful and once they decide to change your flight there is nothing you can do. Please stay away from these guys. I wouldn't even give them one star but the system forces you to give something
NEVER EVER AGAIN AND I AM GOING TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERYONE I KNOW NEVER USES THIS COMPANY. I MADE A MISTAKE AFTER HAVING 2 OPTIONS FOR MY FLIGHT BACK FROM SA IN 2013. I PRESSED THE WRONG OPTION SO I HAVE A 12HR WAIT IN CAIRO INSTEAD OF A 3 HR WAIT. I REALISED THE MISTAKE AS SOON AS I RECEIVED MY CONFIRMATION EMAUIL, NOT THE TICKETS, JUST A CONFIRMATION OF PAYMENT. I THEN EMAILED THEM IMMDEIATELY AND ASKED THEM TO CHANGE IT. AN HOUR LATER MY E TICKET CAME THROUGH WITH NO CHNAGES. I THEN PHONED AND THE GUY ON THE PHONE SAID HE COULD NOT HELP ME AND JUST POUT THE PHONE DOWN. I PHONED BACK AND SPOKE TO A 2ND GUY WHO SAID IT WOULD COST ME £25.00 PER TICKET, I EXPLAINED THE EMAILS TO HIM AND HE DID NOT WANT TO KNOW SO I SAID GOODBYE AND EXPLAINED I WOULD NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. I THEN EMAILED THEM ASKING TO CHNAGE THE FLIGHTS AND I WOULD PAY THE £25.00 PER TICKET. 8 HRS LATER I GOT A REPLY SAYING IT WAS NOT £25.00 BUT IN FACT OVER £280 TO CHANGE.
I THEN EMAILED THEM BACK AND EXPLAINED MY 1ST EMAIL BEFORE THE ISSUE OF THE TICKETS AND HAVE NOT HAD A RESPONSE. THERE MUST BE SOMETHING WE CAN DO ABOUT THIS AWEFUL COMPANY.
They are criminals, charging £350 for cancelation. But that's nothing compared to customer service I have received. Not helpful and patronising.
I have got agreement with manager to get the charge smaller, week later nobody knows about the agreement (apparently also person who introduced himself as manager was not a manager). After loosing calm tone, reciving agreed lower cancellation charge was conditioned (blackmailed) only if I send written apology!!!
Joke, joke!!
i booked tickets with this lot through a link from skyscanner. There was no proper pdf and i wasnt sure the tickets had even been issued. This however does not get away from the fact that they lied to me. I emailed them about leaving the states early as hurricane sandy was about to hit. They emailed me back saying that they had tried but "Please be informed that we tried to accommodate you for tomorrow flight but unfortunately seats are not available in domestic flight from Dublin to Glasgow". Funny how i was able to get seats on this and get back to uk. As of 3 days later i have heard nothing from them. Airline wont change stuff as its bulk tickets. Do yourself a favour and avoid.....
After finding some well priced priced I booked with this company handing over just under £1000 for 2 tickets to Thailand. A week later I get an email saying my tickets were unable to be issued with no explanation unless I phoned back by 4 the next day. Phoning around midday they said my flights had been cancelled - still with no clear explanation. I asked for a refund which over 15 days later has still not arrived despite many correspondents. No replys to emails and very unhelpful on the phone.
I will never book a flight with this company in my life. horrible booking system, you can´t access to your booking and the costumer service is awful. The people working with the phone, they don´t know english and are rude and unprofessional. good luck if you have booked a flight with them
I would suggest to anyone looking to book flights to use a more well known and established service.
When looking online for some flight to visit family in Perth, I thought I had found the perfect deal, so began the booking process. I had to temporarily halt on the details page whilst I waited for my partner to text me his passport details, the wait was not in excess of 20 minutes, when I received a phone call from operator ''Sam''. He asked if I had any questions to which I responded to request details of the luggage allowance for my flight. After a couple of moments whilst he ''checked'' something he continued to explain that I could add luggage to my flight cost for an additional £170 per person!!.
I advised Sam that I had been all the way through the booking process on a previous test booking and there was no mention of this which is in breach of advertising standards. He went on hold for a couple of moments (presumably speaking to his manager) and then come back to me to say to say ''If you continue online you will not need to pay extra for booking, however unless your quick we shall release the flights that your holding'' and then quickly ended the phone call.
Returning to my booking, details in hand, upon trying move onto the next page a notice flagged up to say that my booking had expired. When going back to the homepage retrieve a quote again, I found that the cost of the flights had increased by £80 per person!!.
In the end I paid an additional £35.00 per person to book with Netflights.co.uk and shall review their services once I am back from my trip.
For anyone looking to book with Travelup, my best suggestion would be to pay the extra couple of pounds to ensure that your getting a reliable service from a more well established business.
Travel up are a disgrace. To cut a long story short I had booked a holiday with Travel Up and unfortunately had a stroke 2 weeks before I was due to fly and could not go on my holiday. The airline told me I was due full compensation due to medical grounds. Travel Up did everything to avoid my calls, passed me from agent to agent and drew the whole experience out for 3 months until I eventually was about to take legal action and they finally gave me SOME of my money back. Basically they wanted me to get fed up of calling for MY money and wanted to keep my money. Needless to say a horrible company and will never book with them again. I fly often and there are plenty of other genuine agencies whom are happy to help and make life easy.
I booked ticket paid the sed price.48 hours later i was told to pay more money bcse airport taxes have increased.wen i spoke to them that the price i had paid was the price we agreed if the taxes increased that shudnt have affected me. now am wondering whether they are a legitimate company.i asked for a refund and was told 5 days.so here goes if i dont recieve my mony there is hell to pay.thank god for visa. always purchase tiket using credit card it gives u safety.
This company is borderline criminal and I would rate them -* They didnt book my wife and baby on the same flight as me and when I caught it a few days later tried to charge me 497GBP. They blamed the airline and said I should call them. I fly on TAM all of the time on business and to Brazil as my family is from there so when I called the airline of course the same fare is available but they are not able to change it. I am demanding them to take c
are of it or I will report them to the trading standards office.
The price quoted for London to Sydney was £570 for the dates I wanted, but when I called to book, 2 minutes later they said the flights had gone.
they went on to say that they could not tell me any dates when this price was available.
The website is a big con. It is like advertising a price on a shop window, when the stock is not available. They should be shut down
Attempted to book Glasgow-Sydney in April 2012 via advertised price sites (cheapflights etc) and called many agents but they all appear as the same agent - travelup. Advertised for around 732.20 for same price for weeks, however flight is quoted at a lot more when call as advertised. It appears as though the same company advertise under different agents name and trade from outside Europe. It's a poor name they give good reputable agents whom advertise and supply the same price. BE CAREFULL with these agents and do your homework!
