While I am not a person to complain, my disappointment at the manner in which my situation is being handled by UTSAV warrants me posting this here, since it seems that they will not do the honorable thing. In December 2013, I ordered two outfits from them. On January 14, in response to the company"s inquiry about my satisfaction with items I had purchased, I indicated my dissatisfaction with item code KF18: the Cream Faux Georgette Anarkali Churidar Kameez (which was the more expensive of the two items I purchased). UTSAV offered two options:
1. That I accept a 30% discount on the time = $UD 17.04, or 2. That UTSAV would pick up the item from me via DHL.
On January 16, I indicated that I would prefer to have UTSAV pick up the item, and send me a replacement. On January 18, someone named "Amita" addressed me as "Hansa," indicating that the item would be picked up from my "...destination within 2-3 days." I sent a reply indicating that my name was not "Hansa" and that if the e-mail was intended for me, I would need to know exactly when the pick up date would be so that I could make arrangements with my place of employment, so that I could meet the DHL personnel. I received no response, and sent yet another e-mail of inquiry. As of today, January 29, I have not received any response. I am disappointed and very disturbed, because the longer the item remains in my possession, the easier is it for the company to claim or even suggest that the issue with the item is my doing or my fault. Please be aware that once I inspected the item and saw how it looked, I immediately put it back in the UTSAV plastic bag that it came in. So that you understand what I mean by my disappointment note the following:
1. Thread hangs from the garment; essentially the sewing is not neat and lacks a professional look. Because of this, the garment can be easily compromised the more the threads become loose--through washing and definitely through wearing.
2. Folds are not straight as they move toward seams and hems; they look terrible.
My request to UTSAV was simple enough; I wanted to return the item for a replacement. It appears that UTSAV has no intention of honoring this, and they lack the common decency and courtesy to let me know. I will NEVER, ever conduct any further business with this company, and I hope other prospective customers read reviews about this company before venturing toward an expensive disappointment.
This company will allow you to order products, will promise shipment on a specific timeline, and then will fail to ship the product or communicate with you about shipping. Getting information takes multiple frustrating interactions with "customer service" with at least 24 hours delay before getting responses. Totally unreliable, a waste of time and money.
I ordered a lehenga... MY WEDDING DRESS. Where is it? WHO KNOWS! They are currently 10 days past their 45 day shipping timeline. When I asked the first time after they had missed the shipping deadline, they said it would take 4-5 days more. Two days after that, it was 3-4 more days. Then it was, "please give us 24 hours for that department to respond." Now today, they tell me it will take 14-15 more days (so, 25 days now after it should have shipped), along with written proof that they're lying to me in the multiple timelines they keep giving. Did I mention that if you call in, the only information you get is "please give us 24 hours to respond?" That's because their customer service hours, 9-9 Pacific, are created to be ONLY during non-business hours in India... they'll tell you they have no way of getting specific information. It's a LIE. DO NOT do business with these people! You'll never get your stuff.
Dealing with Utsav is a nightmare, whatever you do stay AWAY from Utsav Fashion. I made the mistake of ordering a SAREE from this place not once, but TWICE in hopes that perhaps the first experience with them was unlucky. Both times I ordered with them they claim to having some kind of problem with the order to which continually delays the whole process of receiving your order. Throughout the order they will give you empty promises that you will receive your order, even claiming that the only thing delaying the order is shipping but the truth of the matter is THEY HAVEN'T EVEN DONE YOUR ORDER!
Do not let them fool you, they do not care about how badly you need your order (in my case to go to a wedding). They decided to conveniently tell me a week before the event that they cannot complete the order and that they are issuing a refund (mind you, I placed my order TWO MONTHS before I needed it), yes that is indeed how long they will mindlessly delay your order before ultimately screwing you over.
Not to mention they refuse to refund the transfer fee of $8 for doing an international transaction, not even offering store credit or anything of the store for the huge inconveniences they make you go through..
The support is terrible as well, the people you speak to don't know anything and will frustrate you to the point that you either hang up or disconnect from the chat, giving completely irrelevant responses to your questions and concerns.
Please, it is clear to see from their other reviews that this is a business that you do not want to deal with. They do not deserve to be in business and certainly don't deserve your hard earned money so do not allow them the chance to screw you over just as they do everything.
This company is a parasite that does not go away until they screw you as much as the situation allows.
Placing an order on Utsav Fashion Online was a big mistake. I believed the false information they displayed on their website and kept waiting for my order to be delivered. After 2 weeks of delay i contacted their "so called" customer care and twice received a mail in which they said they will send a reply in next 24-48 hours. Ultimately after pestering them, someone from their team wrote back saying it will take another 5-6 days for the item to be shipped and then another 3-4 days for the item to be delivered. The irony is that the very next instant when i intentionally spoke to another person from customer care, he said it will take 7-8 days not 5-6 for the item to be shipped. I ultimately cancelled the order because i knew i would never receive it on time for the occasion for which i had so hopefully made the purchase. Inspite of choosing an item that they claimed was ready to be shipped in 10 days ...i lost out on precious time (almost a month) and did not even get a chance to place an order elsewhere. When i shared this experience with some of my friends, i found out that they too have had terrible experiences with them. That is when i decided to post a review.
It is my request to all customers who spend precious time, money and energy on buying something they like, to not do so on UtsavFashionOnline. Keep away from these cheats and probably look at other websites. Thanks.
I paid for the cost if my goods as well as a significant shipping charge but they conveniently forgot to clarify that I would also be getting invoiced for duty/ taxes some time after receiving the goods.
The item ordered was nothing special but it did take an extremely long time to arrive, it was about 6 weeks, far longer than was stated.
By the way, I would trust the positive reviews here, they're quite clearly written by the indian employees of Utsav.
All the reviews on this site are placed by Utsav. I mean who writes like this? Here's my experience. 3 months ago I ordered two suits to try out their service. I'm getting married in 1 year and wanted to start looking for sarees and suits online since they have such a huge selection. I ordered two medium priced suits to start with. The disappointment was immense. The good: It was decent cotton quality, nothing special. But the stitching was just aweful. The first suit didn't look like the picture, the collar didn't have the embellishment of the picture and the border was cheap beige and not gold colored. The stitching of both suits was indeed custom to my measurements but it was made too wide on the waist & make it look like an auntie suit. My 2nd suit is not wearable: The front was completely crooked and the threat was so tightly stitched the whole inlay was bundled up which caused random pleads going under my armpits. The front featured a ballpoint stripe in the middle of the chest, how is that even possible (??!!) Utsav's response "Our quality control must have missed that". Really? Their was so much wrong with the suit it looked like it was sewn together by a 5 year old.
Complained right away and the customer service as great: they got back to me quickly, friendly, they handled it fast. It takes an big effort though. Sending pics of the damage, dealing with a different person every time. But, really their customer service people were very nice. How ever they couldn't solve their biggest problem: they sell a crummy product and skimp on experienced sewing staff and petty stuff like ribbon and embroidery. Maybe because I live in Canada they feel I'm too NRI to notice
In the end they reimbursed me $12 for each suit to have it restitched and the customs fees. Useless since I live in Canada and for that you can't even have it dry cleaned. I was so tired of dealing with Utsav I took it and just let it be.
Utsav is ran by idiots with no business sense. Here's the math: Just because they took shortcuts on the stitching and saved themselves $5 on material they missed out on my entire wedding order (which in Canada is at $3500 now and we're not even half way yet). Particularly for the foreign market they could make a buck load of money since there is not a large selection. I will never order from them again.
I’m a regular customer of Utsav Fashion since 2010 and I believe that it is the best online shopping website if you want to shop for Indian ethnic clothes. Their on-time delivery of products is really commendable. Recently, I have ordered a designer sari and jewelry and have received it on the day promised. It’s beautiful and makes me look lovely.
I received the order I placed. I absolutely love the saree and it’s design. I went in the kitty party last month and so many ladies were talking about utsav’s website. This was my first purchase but I am completely happy with the service I was assured by my friends that utsav won’t let me down.I have at least 15 to 20 known people who have been buying from Utsav Fashion.
Placed an order via credit card which I use all over the world. They were the only ones who were not able to charge me on that card !! What Morons!
Despite this they never informed me of the problem. I kept on emailing them but the only response was that payment is not received. They should have asked me to use another method of payment. But absolutely no response. Frustratingly I asked them to cancel the order.
The website looks very good but I was told by many of my friends who have purchased from UTSAV that the things don't look as they should once received. The people who own the business are snotty filthy rich people who could care less about one less order. They are not like a regular professional business. If this is the attitude before the purchase, image the nightmare if they screw up on the order & deliver! Happy that my hard earned money was not wasted with them.
