I was about to open account some time ago but somehow i managed to close the window.i called them about it that if i can complete the same application and they took my details and opened a new account for me which wasnt my original query at all i just wanted to know if i an complete the other application because i dont want to do the credit search twice.but i really really needed a computer so i thought oh well lets do it.i chose one computer which showed in stock and delivery within 3 days.it cost 529 pounds and as i only had 250 credit i paid the rest upfront to them over the phone which they were happy and quick to take.the person who placed my order advised me that delivery will be by friday(bought it on tuesday).and also they said i will get a text or email the day before about my delivery.so friday came and i was so excited but as i hAdnt received any emails or any updates about it i got a little bit conserned.i rang them in the morning and asked updates and the person said that yes delivery can come from 7 til 7 and becuase its coming directly from manufactures they dont have much information.so i sat at home and was waiting for it all day..... Just before seven i called them and the person says they can see that they need to allow more time for delivery and do i know that their policy is they cant guarantee the delivery that it can be ten days(this i was never mentioned when i was placing my order, all he said was that i get it by friday).she told me to call on saturday so by then maybe they have updates.when i called on saturday the person kept saying he doesnt know and even though he could see that it hasnt left the manufacturer he gave me a reference number for delivery company and their phone number,so i called there and spent 20 minutes on the phone to get thru to them but ofcourse they dont have any information because they havent received the item for the delivery.so i called back again and when i told my story to the man he didnt know what to say and said hes computer crashed so he need to redirect me to another advisor.so i had to wait for 20 minutes to speak to someone(but the lady already knew my story which means the man clearly just didnt want to deal with me), so finally i was talking to the same lady from friday night and she kept saying she doesnt know whats going to happen and when its going to happen that all i can do is wait.i cant make a complain as it has to be done by writing(which to me shows that they are scared to deal with angry customers over the phone)i cant get my money back as it akes up to 10 days which means im still going to be without my money nd without my computer for some time.so i contacted very on facebook to et things moving as i saw somewherethey said they got things moving then, but to cut the long story short they gave me an email to email and are just telling me the same rubbish which i already know.oh as a good will gesture they took 3.95 postage off....hahahaha.what a helpful bunch of people.they said on saturday i should wait until tuesday and if theres no updates i should contact them.so today is one week since i placed an order i contacted them and they say that they have been advised to allow seven days for delivery which means i have to wait until thursday and if there is no deliery by this time they will track it down.so once they start tracking it down the weekend is going to come which means i will not have the item this week eather.i could have walked to any shop and make a credit application and pay more than half upfront and walk out with the compuer from the shop in fact now i am thinking that i could have just bought the computer out that silly me,it looked very easy and convinient to order it from there as it showed delivery within 3 days and in fact it is still showing the same thing on their website right now even though they have delays with me.and i really dont care about their policies which they are talking about now as i was never introduced any of them and its disappointing i have been calling and contacting them and tacking it down.shouldnt they contact me if there is any delays.so im still trying to get my computer and once i get it i am paying the rest of the amount and then i just close my account as i can not buy anything from them knowing that i may end up not getting the item when i need it and when they promise it.Oh and as i am writing this i can see they have cancelled my order without my confirmation and but the money back to my very account so now i have to find a way to get the money back to my bank account.
I have been in my house all this time without a flat screen television immediately I joined Very I know that one day I will have my own television. I started with £400 credit giving to me and keep on manage with the money until now that my credit has improve. Last week I when for that television but unfortunate for me I did not place what I want I make a mistake and go for wrong want I did called very direct and I was answer immediately that if my product come I should send it back with the delivery person and your money will be credited back to my account then immediately I can go back to the site and get what I want. So this morning I went to Very site and got just what I want which was excellent and sample to get.
I will advised everyone to join Very and see the excellent business the have and no one will never be disappointed. That every thing you want, you will away have even if you want to talk with the team you will alway be happy because someone will alway be there for people.
For that reason I need to thank everyone working with Very experically manager director assisstant manager and all the sale assistant.
I was trying to place an order through Very's tele service. So I called them and the sales person I was speaking to confirmed me the purchase has been done and gave me a delivery date. After hanging up the phone I realized that the delivery date is not good for me so I called them back within 5 mins and they said no order been placed through my account. I was asked to wait for couple of hours if anything appear in my account, nothing happened so I called them back and again they said no records of any order in my account. At that time they placed another order for me and again confirmed the purchase and delivery date. By the way, I had to go though three different departments and was on the phone for more than 20 mins to place the order this time. At last when they put me through the customer service department they again said no records of any purchase at all but it was the same call and I just been confirmed from the sales department. The customer service guy asked me to wait 24 hrs, I waited and called them back and guess what the same old story. This time I have been told that it could take 3/4 days to chase from their data service team. I was so angry and disappointed with their customer service and above all the whole bloody system I closed my account with them. I don't know what sort of system they got, no one bothered to put any comment against my account that I was trying to chase my order so many times. Whenever I called I heard a common line ''I don't know what happened but I can't see any records''. Then leave a bloody note your buggers.....
Anyways you can feel my level of dissatisfaction and I wouldn't recommend anyone to Very.
I order a unit to be delivered to the house and it gave me the option of before 12 which had an additional cost - I waited in til 12 on the day and nothing arrived - called very who said they would refund me however that totally defeats the purpose of paying extra for a morning delivery as was told if not in on the afternoon they would leave a card - I said I really wanted it today thats why I paid the extra to have it when I was at home and why were we given a choice of times when they couldnt actually make the time requested. I must admit I have paid for the before 12 service before and it has NEVER arrived early its always later and I could be bothered complaining but from how on I will complain complain complain.
I initially learnt about very.co.uk when I received one of their discount vouchers. After doing a bit of research, I realised that these vouchers were a bit of a scam, so I decided not to use it but, nevertheless, a few weeks later found a suitcase on their website which was reasonably priced and I decided to buy it.
From start to finish, this has been the worst online shopping experience I have had the misfortune of being a part of.
The website is full of bugs and has a very poor search facility. The online payment could not be processed. I was forced to ring up to make the payment as none of my credit cards could be processed online.
The automated telephone service is infuriatingly slow. Rather than just selecting '1' for 'sales', '2' for 'returns', they have decided that it's better to have voice recognition which is ridiculous when you have to sit through;
'Are you phoning for sales, returns or something else. If you are phoning for sales, please say 'sales', if you are phoning for 'returns', please say 'returns', if you want 'something else', please say 'something else' '
'Did you say 'sales'? If you said 'sales', say 'yes', if you didn't say 'sales', please say 'no''
Then you have to tell the robot your account number and date of birth which gets repeated back to you. Once you confirm that these are correct, you speak to an agent (finally) who asks you for your account number and date of birth again!
Nevertheless, my order went through but, a few months later, the suitcase broke. It was under warranty so I called them again and had to sit through the rigmerole of the automated service.
The first time I phoned, I was told that it was the manufacturer's responsibility to replace the item. I contacted the manufacturer and was told that this was incorrect.
The second time I phoned, I was advised that I could use 'Collect+' - I took the item to a Collect+ store and was told it would be too big.
The third time that I phoned, I was given a 12 hour collection window. It's quite unbelievable that, in this day and age, they expect you to be at home all day! It's not even like they can collect it from my workplace as the courier can come anytime between 7am and 7pm- before and after the office closes. To compound it all, they do not allow you to use Royal Mail to post items back.
I can safely say that I will never shop from very.co.uk again!
EDIT: So, after agreeing to leave the package outside my apartment block for them to collect today 'any time between 7am and 9pm' and accepting the risk that it gets stolen, they didn't even bother to pick it up.
Another phone call to them today and, after 20 mins on hold, they advised me that this often happens with their courier and that I should try again tomorrow! They also advised me that the person that I spoke to yesterday gave me the incorrect address (the head office address) to put on the front of the package and that I needed to write a different address on the package and to include some paperwork inside the package. I have therefore wasted more time repackaging the item. I think it will be a miracle if they actually pick it up tomorrow, but will keep you updated.
I had a very bad experience with a customer advisor. I had a voucher for £20 to be taken off my next order of £50. I placed an order but unfortunately the code did not take and I did not keep a note of the number. The advisor I spoke to could not have been more rude if he tried. He continually told me to not speak over him and he continually repeated himself over and over. He did not offer to help me in way at all. Basically he made it clear that I was to blame so tough luck. I tried pointing out to him that I was the customer and therefore he should have a bit more respect. I even asked to speak to a manager but he ignored my request. I was so angry I returned every item.
I hope I never have to have any conversation with this man ever again.
I have been very happy with products I have received but this man lets the company down in a big way.
All companies are the same in terms of annoying customer service ,there a plenty worse .But imo Very is the most hassle free place to shop .The prices are good & the shop & collect at your local is a bonus .I`m usually shocked by how quick they are ,Simple e mail & a text message to tell you to go & collect . Better the devil you know & imo Very is one of the easiest places to shop on line .Been shopping at Very for years & Very impressed (no pun intended .I`m not loyal to any company but giving credit where it`s due
Recently a sales person from Very rang me up to tell me that something that I wanted which had been out of stock was now in stock and 2 days later it had been ordered and received. That is good service.
I have been a Very customer for years and years and I love them! Love the clothes, which are priced fairly and the delivery is always when it should be.
I shall carry on shopping with them for a Very long time to come ;-)
Like another reviewer, I placed my first (and last) order with Very.com and requested a Saturday delivery, despite the fact the order was placed with Very on a monday and I would have to wait nearly a week for my order to arrive.
The following Saturday, I received a text advising me that the order was with a courier and would be delivered between 7am and 9pm. I too stayed in all day and at 8pm tried to contract the delivery company (Yodel) to see if it was coming. When accessing their website I found out that their customer services closes at 1pm on a Saturday and that the order was still claiming to be out for delivery that night.
I tried to ring Very to see if they could help and their customer services was useless. So I waited in until 9pm to prove the point that Yodel haven't tried to deliver. At 10pm Yodel updated the status of my order to show that the order had been delayed and it would be delivered the next day (Sunday). When I returned from work on the Monday I had a "sorry I missed you slip" left at my home. The courier had kindly left his telepone number and asked me to ring him. Which I did and during the conversation I was advised that he had only received the parcel that very morning and to make matters worse, he had passed my property a couple of times on the Saturday delivering other parcels locally and had finished all his parcels by 4pm. I believe him, because the second text supplied a courier telephone number and the first didn't and because he has delivered items to me in the past without any problems. So I instructed the courier to reject the order back to Very and as I placed a complaint with the company on he Saturday night, they know that I have now refused delivery. Because of Very I wasted a complete day, when they had no intention of coming near my property until at least the Monday. Very have offered to refund the delivery, which is a joke, as if I would paid for a delivery which didn't happen!!
The funny thing is that I was going to pay for the dress (£75 & Delivery) at the ordering stage, but decided to open an account, so I could see what I thought of the company before parting with any money. I'm glad I did.
This company is one of the worst I have the misfortune to deal with. Despite really liking the dress there was no way I would keep it, because I hope that if enough customers hit them in their pocket that may open their eyes and realise that you need customers or you won't have a business. My main regret is that I have to give them a star, they don't deserve it.
Ordered bunk bed and mattresses, great price.
Mattresses delivered in a few days, good time slot (2.5 hours) and they arrived on time, even though my location is rural and hard to find, were very pleasant and helpful.
Only thing is we need to wait another three weeks for the bed, which is a bit silly.
Otherwise would be five stars
I ordered £361.00 worth of dresses (my second order) for the collect plus service - I put it on my credit card on which I knew there to be plenty of credit. I check my bank and it has a pending transaction of £361.00 so I know everything is ok. However, on checking my e-mails on Sunday afternoon I find that they need me to call THEM, but they were closed so I have to wait until Monday. On checking my very account it says that the order has been rejected.
I call up on Monday and presume that it will be a simple matter - however, it turns out that on my SECOND order I was screened for security (despite my bank approving the payment) and as I did not pick up the phone on Sunday when they tried to call an (incorrect) number they automatically rejected the order. What would have made more sense is to e-mail asking and giving me the opportunity to call up and verify the order. I then have to deal with customer service assistants who don't know what they're doing - I know can't replace the order on the same card and I have to wait 7 working days for the £361 t bounce back into my account. The delivery company very use tried to deliver my items to the wrong address - any normal company would offer a serious measure of goodwill for the 3 hours I have spent in total rectifying this outrageous situation. But no.
I ordered three items on the 24th May, one of which was a suitcase. Before you click on the item it tells yoy whether the product is in stock and this suitcase said 'low stock, selling fast!'. But this obviously means they do have stock. Anyway got the other two items extremely fast, waiting on the suitcase. Emailed customer service - they were very unhelpful and just regurgitated the same rubbish that they needed to ensure they were performing the basic duties of their jobs. The situation was that the suitcase was said to arrive by 18th September - 4 months away, and my query was why would a suitcase that was in stock need to take 4 months..? And no-one could tell me. So I resorted to Facebook. I wrote a complaint, someone responded immediately giving me a HQ email address. Emailed them and they investigated and contacted the suppliers and managed to get my suitcase sent out to me in two days!!! Amazing customer service from their part but it's a shame that I had to go through Facebook for someone to actually consider my situation..
Website doesn't say if item is in stock or not. It might turn into a preorder. You don't get any confirmation email until the item is in stock.
They can send the item to the wrong address or not give the delivery company enough details, then be powerless in solving the delivery problem.
Insurance department and customer service are detached, so you have to make several calls for refunds.
In general, you will be bounced between calls, and each customer service representative does not take notes and does not try reading older notes of you issue.
We also had an item sent although the order was cancelled. There was no confirmation that the item was shipped. It just… appeared. Four weeks after sending it back to them they sent an invoice for the difference in PENNIES between the credit and debit. An invoice of less than a pound, but rounded up, adding interest and service charge. An invoice for an item we never ordered and never paid for!
Yes, we are talking about a few quid, but this shows how Very.co.uk works. My lady, who the invoice was addressed to, was abroad because of a sad incident in her family, so I wanted to take charge. I explained why I was emailing in her stead, yet customer service told me she had to call!
These days, to have a National Company treat you as an individual and give great service is rare, but I was gob smacked at my experience with Very. From phone calls confirming my order to helpful, friendly staff answering my questions on delivery times, to the goods arriving when they should and one, a computer desk I ordered expecting delivery in 4 weeks arrived the same week!!! I ordered 5 items on 2 separate orders and everyone was delivered on time and in perfect condition. Definitely be ordering again.
Don't you just love it when a company takes your order and money then doesn't deliver?
I made the mistake or ordering a mobile from www.very.co.uk - unfortunately out of stock at Amazon.
That's exactly what this company did and, dishonestly in my view, days later still show the phone as in stock - although it's now changed to "low stock".
A call to their "support centre" established that the phone was not due to be delivered from the supplier for weeks and that nobody was available to speak to regarding a refund as this is dealt with through their "back office" .
"So let's see you've taken the full amount from my debit card for goods that you know you cannot deliver and I have to wait for a refund?"
Sadly, just another example of rubbish service - useless.

I purchased a pair of shorts from here to be delivered next day to an collect plus shop. The item was not dispatched on time. The customer service took days to reply from a specialist team. The order was sent back to them 4weeks ago. Still no refund. I had to contact the courier myself to get confirmation the parcel was lost. This was forwarded to them. They said that this was not good enough. I had to get compensation from the courier themsemveu as after 20emails to very I have got nowhere. The customer service did not answer my emails in full. Always generic answers, going to write to head office. Shame as I uses to like this company

Have ordered lots of goods over the past year from clothes to washing machines. ordering is easy and the online tracking system is great so you know where your order is. The only fault I have is that they use yodel who are completely useless at delivering at specific times i.e paid for delivery between 7 and 12 in the morning and my parcels arrived at 2pm! not the fault of Very who were fantastic and refunded my delivery charge as soon as I emailed them. apart from that wee niggle I really cannot fault them, customer service is second to none and it is so easy to return items, just fill in the returns slip and hand it in to your nearest click and collect outlet. I've never called them about faulty goods as I prefer emailing them and it is always a quick response I get.
I'm a first time customer, have never shopped with Very before as a few people I know told me to avoid them.
I ordered an LG micro stereo system from Very. It arrived faulty, straight out of the box it was completely dead.
I called Very straight away, and they refused to deal with the issue and instead told me to call LG and they would sort it out.
This is in breach of the sales of goods act 1979, and Very are in breach of the contract agreed with them when I made the purchase.
It seems Very think they are above UK laws...
If I had bought this from somewhere like Currys or Argos, they would have replaced the unit without any fuss...
Disgraceful after sales care, will not shop with them again (and will listen to my friends in the future).

I had placed a order which vanished on the system - contacted very who emailed quickly to say I would have to order again as no record, which I did. I then received 2 of everything as the order that vanished was sent too! The returns system is 'very' easy to use and apart from that glitch I have had great service from them.
I love the choice of designer brands on here, I have bought sunglasses and 2 lipsy playsuits which I absolutely love, delivery is always very quick and if any problems they pick up next day free of charge. Would defo recommend :)
A new customer to Very ( to be honest I opened the account because they were the only company offering the NOOK ereader with £50 off!!
Because I asked them to deliver to grand-daughter who lives in a different place to me I received a telephone call, an email and a letter asking if I had placed this order and ensuring my security.
Never had such good service from a catalogue company or a webtrader.
Goods havent been delivered yet so I will hold fire on that but so far so good.
I ordered t-shirts for my twenty year old son who is going to Turkey. Absolutely great to find trendy clothes at such low prices. He is very pleased.
ordered an ipad and a camera lightening response also yodel delivered the next morning and that was when I was still having my breakfast.so in the words of john Travolta him self go . grease lightning .100 percent happy with both very and yodel oh and royal mail.
The best thing about very is their next day delivery on all products. However, this is on useful if you actually want to buy their products. I find myself using them less and less due to the quality and price. I feel there is loads more websites with better choice and quality and reasonably proved as well. Only really use very now for sale items & convenience.
I ordered my first products around Xmas time last year and had an awful experience with the couriers Yodel. Didn't deliver my items on the Saturday that I had requested, tried to re-arrange to my work address and was told I couldn't, spent god knows how much phoning up Customer Services and in the end I had to collect from the local depot. When I arrived there staff were rude and miserable!! I've since discovered the collect + option where I can get my items delivered to my local shop and its much easier!
Very themselves though I find are great, clothes always fit and are in good condition. Price range is good too! If they changed their delivery couriers it would be better :)
We ordered a Nook at a birthday present. After 2 weeks I rang up to ask when it would be delivered and they replied 'this Thrusday'. Late on Wednesday (ie the date it was due to be dispatched) Very rang me to announce a 2 week delay "due to our suppliers".
Surely they knew earlier that there was no stock.
I asked for an assurance that there would be no more delays and they couldn't give me one.
So what value does Very add in all this?
Shopping with Very is beyond frustrating. I have put off buying from the site previously simply because the website is so incredibly slow. I wish I didn’t like some items so much that I actually attempted to order some goods. You have to select a delivery date and time for each item (where is the tick box to say you want all your items delivered to the same place?) It would not accept my Flat OR work address. I could not enter a mobile number for the delivery address.
And then we get on to the delivery…..I selected Saturday 07:00 – 12:00. At 12:15 I check the website and it says there was no access to the building…..incorrect. Nobody rung me, the door bell did not ring. I phoned CS and was on the phone for 21 minutes (on hold for 10 of those) and I supplied the address for my work as I would not be at home during the day, and told delivery would occur on Monday to this new address. On Monday I check the website to see where my order is and it says that a card was left at the address as nobody was home – this was not the new address I supplied! When I rung CS again I was informed that the new address I supplied was not within their delivery radius (Chertsey in Surrey just outside the M25???? – hardly the middle of nowhere!) I have now arranged delivery to my boyfriends work address for Tuesday. Fingers crossed it arrives because apparently if not the goods are returned and the order cancelled.
At no point was I contacted about these issues with delivery, it is only because I can access the internet that I realized there were problems. My delivery charge was removed from the bill so some good came out of it.
All around a Very annoying experience. I only hope that the items fit so that I do not have to go through the hassle of returning the goods!
>>>>> I would like to add this update to my review. I have spoken to customer services TWICE now and twice I have given a new address and twice these addresses have not been passed on to Yodel. I understand that the first new address I provided was in a completely different area - but Chertsey must receive parcels? I was NOT told on the phone by CS that this was not possible, I was just left to believe that this new address was ok and that my parcel would be delivered there. I then speak to customer services and provide them with another address which is 2 minutes walk from my home address so therefore I know that it is within the allotted area for the courier to deliver to.
Today I notice that my package has not been delivered to a new address because the courier is having trouble finding the address. I ring Very again who are no help whats so ever! They tell me to call Yodel. I call Yodel and they have not been informed about this new address (or the previous new address). What is wrong with Very????? Absolutely shocking service!!!! I have had to email Yodel this new address as I cannot give it to them over the phone, the only way they can get a new address is via email or from Very…..VERY DIDN’T DO THIS! Maybe it will be 4th time lucky now that I have sent them a new address via email. Right now I am just amazed at how awful this transaction has been!!
