Suppport excellent, but why do I need it so much?

Account support great and friendly and fast.

But why do I need to call support so much for a 1 click clean install from their control panel for prestashop? It looks like their control panel; has issues. i.e. not providing log in detail sand timing out.

Made Migration a Doddle.

I am not an idiot but hardly a techie
I just needed to get my life back which meant I had to leave the hosting company I was with.
Days waiting for tickets to be answered and continuous problems with page loading times meant most of my time was spent dealing with them and not my customers.

VidaHost have just migrated by site with no hassle and quick responses to the few questions I did need to ask. I feel better already.

Out of date software

I was very exited to sign up for vidahost service, as from their website it seems like the most convenient option.
Upon trying to install my website on their cloud service, i quickly found out that the version of their software (ASP) required a patch on the server to work. After informing customer support i was quickly informed that they would not patch their software, as I required to purchase a different hosting service with them.
I find this unacceptable as the patch i required is a vendor patch for known issues released my Microsoft.

Personal, helpful and perfect telephone support (even at 10 PM)!

I would like to thank you to all the support team from Vidahost for last night help.
I was installing a new script on my server with the coder from Iceland. After whole day of putting everything together we did hit a wall on the server side. How annoying this can be everyone probably knows...
I have picked up the phone around 10 pm and explained the situation to the lady in Vidahost support - she transferred me to her team leader or someone in charge and he did fix the problem with me on the phone within 10 minutes. The guy on the phone was very understanding and helpful and our script it's running today like a dream:))

I'm a customer for last 2 years I think, and to be honest this is still my best customer experience ... at least in the online world which is lacking so much of a personal touch...

Used to be good - now just a average service!

I have been with Vidahost for over 3 years. They started of being awesome. Now my various sites have constant drops and their service levels have fallen hugely!

The team is constantly making some excuse for this and even schedule updates / migrations are not told to the users. I have lots of a lot of money running google ads while the my site is down. My requests for a call back go answered.

It is hard migrating providers but for anyone looking at a new provider I would NOT recommend Vidahost anymore.

Used to be the best before they got big

I used to love Vidahost, 5 star service, instant response to tickets, great servers and the best of all, they used to know what they were doing, unfortunately, since they got bigger they don't have that special relation with the customer anymore and for example, today, they took 2 and an half hours to reply to a server down ticket!
I've hired a VDS because the shared server was always down but this one just for myself is down once a month too, I suspect it's not well configured but the customer service is very slow and non supportive now, I can't seem to get anyone interested in my problem anymore, what a disappointment...
I'm so sorry guys from Vidahost, but I think you should consider going back to your old ways, you rocked back then!

I want to leave the statement that I do not intend to leave Vidahost, Vidahost is still the best choice for me, just maybe you spoiled me before and I'm having a hard time adapting ;)

First of all I'm really sorry for the delay in responding to your ticket. It's not normal but you contacted us at a particularly busy time.

Your VDS is proactively monitored. When it crashed it was automatically rebooted and the issue logged by our automated system. Should this ever fail, our sysops team are responding to alerts 24x7x365.

The reason for the crash was explained to you in the ticket. I'm going to give you some free RAM to apologise for the slow ticket response. If you're still not happy or you have any further problems please get in touch.

Excellent hosting with great tech backup

It always feels as though Vidahost are operating to a higher standard of web engineering than all other providers I have had to interact with (as I'm a freelance web developer, that's now been around seven or eight hosts). Stuff that doesn't work on other hosts just works as expected on Vidahost. their in house control panel is really easy to use and powerful at he same time. All feels very slick, modern and usable. tech support are very knowledgable, genuine and polite. Likeable people.

Having used Streamline.net to a terrible end, and being treated like a second rate user! Vidahost were recommended and will not look back, excellent service and very speedy response and answers to any query!

I don't know what the fuss is about

I signed up with Vida on the strength of reviews on the internet, but have so far been disappointed.

I have bought two domain names with hosting, and on both occasions the hosting was wrongly set up on the cloud hosting, when I just asked for basic Windows C-Panel log-in. Then numerous times I've had to try and log-on when they said it was set up (but wasn't - and was put down to DNS issues) Then the Wordpress install had to be done all over again as there was supposed to be bug in the software installer. So a constant stream of 10+ emails just to get basic hosting sorted. My experience has been a lot worse and complicated than some of the other companies I am thinking of moving from (GoDaddy etc)

The technical help has been quick and friendly, but surely it shouldn't take this amount of trouble just to set hosting up.

I've looked into the tickets you raised and agree it should of not have taken ~10 messages to resolve the situation. We set up thousands of WordPress sites per day and the experience you had was just unfortunate.

With regards to DNS propagation, this is an aspect of domains that not all customers are aware of initially, we have no control about domain names resolving when changes are made and the industry standard is to communicate that this can take up to 48 hours.

Great Service. I would recommend them to anyone wholeheartedly

I have hosted my websites in several web hosting companies in the UK. I can state with proof and records to show that vidahost is one of the best web hosting company in the UK.With uptime of 99.9%( MY UPTIME FROM PINGDOM SHOWED THAT) fantastic server response time .Fantastic support ,friendly, professional and infact first class support. I have been with them since 2008 and i can confidently tell anyone to use these guys. They are just good guys. I have used other companies in the UK whose technical supports were just kids and mediocres(read my other reviews) .Currently We have over 4 accounts with them including their fantastic clouding hosting and we don't plan leaving them .


Beware of wanna be topdog web hosting company. companies don't want any bad reviews as it will stop people from paying them for rubbish service.

Also Avoid companies that are cheap, and promise unlimited webhosting, they are just desperate. No one can give unlimited hosting. Otherwise google would just host youtube on a cheap unlimited shared account

By far the best Web Host I have ever used!

I have been with a few different Web Hosting Companies over the years but when I switched to Vidahost I soon realised they were different.

The support they offer is simply amazing! You can reach them by phone (free number) or by email, I use the latter and have never waited longer than 20 mins for a response. They have always resolved any issues or questions I may have.

The uptime is outstanding and my site always seems fast and responsive.

If you are looking for a new Web Host I highly recommend giving Vidahost a try.

Awesome service from guys who care about my business

I was told about this company from my web designer, as I have had some terrible hosts before, you know those who say "fast customer service" but to them they are just fancy words to get your business. But Vidahost is different in many ways the guys know their stuff they understand that what may be a small problem to them could be a big problem to a non technical person like me. It is reassuring to know they will handle any queries I have in a fast efficient manner and treat me like I am important to them and their business no matter how much money I am paying them per month.

I know I don't have to worry about my sites while Vidahost are hosting them as I know they have full backups of my site should anything ever occur. People would pay a lot of money for this kind of service with Vidahost I am glad I don't have to.

It just works. Super speedy service with great support

I've been a customer for a good few years now. I've also recommended a good half dozen friends/business colleagues to migrate over. None of us have ever had any problems. I can't sing their praises high enough.

On the odd occasion I've had to log a support call, I've had an answer within a few minutes, and everything's running smoothly.

VH are a uk-based company with no overseas call centres. All the team seem to really know their stuff. I had query with some PHP source code that I'd written thay wasn't working as exepected. I got a pretty detailed answer back and was able to fix my site.

On top of that, the hosting packages you get are great value for money. So many bells and whistles at a really affordable price.

If you need a hosting company, look no further. You won't be disappointed.

Vidahost communicates with me as a human being

What I appreciate about Vidahost is their proactive communication with me. They are polite, available and responsive when I call or email. The people who work there speak plain, clear English and can relate to me personally. Up to now anyway, I have understood their replies to my queries and been able to act on them (which has not been the case with other providers). I also appreciate the extensive and timely communication from them when there is a problem, and their regular communication re monthly invoices.
