Customer Service????

I used a coupon to sign up it was $69 for 15 bottles of wine which I thought was a great deal. I ordered a box of mixed wines since I prefer whites and my husband prefers reds, I looked at the selection and liked the sample selection of what they could send me of 6 whites and 9 reds (3 of the bottles of red were a special that was included for free or something so that was no big deal since without them it would be half and half selection).
Shipping and handling was about $15, and I received the wines pretty quickly which was nice. There were a total of 4 bottles of white wine to 11 bottles of red.... Please tell me how that is MIXED, the sample selection showed 6 bottles of white. I expect half and half or at least the same as the sample selection amounts. Of course the site clearly states you can not pick and choose its their selection of "whats available". Well thanks but no thanks, out of the 4 white wines 2 were a pinot grigio, which was not good tasting, everyone has their own taste buds and likes different wines but both my husband and I agreed we did not like the wine.
On the website Virgin Wines states its 100% satisfaction guaranteed. I have emailed twice over the last month with no return contact about the wine I didnt like, I want to send back the one bottle and get reimbursed for whatever I can or have them send me new wine.... ANYTHING... but I can not even get an email back. I check my junk email folder daily to see if it went in there, nothing.
I agree with others, this is a scam. The coupons are a scam to get people to sign up for something that isnt what it appears. Thanks but I will take my business elsewhere. I prefer to handpick my wines, so I guess I will stick with the more expensive liquor store prices or go to the wineries myself and pay for the real deal.

Virgin Wines is indeed a scam.

I called Virgin Wines three times after I placed one order.
1st:
I asked to cancel all the orders right after I placed it. The customer service told me all my orders had been cancelled and promised me I will receive the cancellation e-mail in 48 hours.
2nd:
After two days, I called Virgin Wines again since I had not received the cancellation e-mail. The customer service told me this order has been processed so it cannot be cancelled. They only cancelled the future orders at last time I called. They told me they will send me a shipment confirmation e-mail with FedEx tracking number. Virgin Wines even told me I can call FedEx to refuse the on-the-way package by the tracking number.
3rd:
After two days, I called Virgin Wines again since I had not received the tracking number. The customer service told me Virgin Wines does not have the tracking numbers for their customers to track the orders. She told me the order has been shipped through FedEx; and I have to obtain this tracking number through FedEx. There is no way Virgin Wines would know the tracking number of their shipped product since it is the responsibility of FedEx. This madam also told me she is not the ladies I talked before so she does not know what they promised me. I asked to speak to her manager, and she hung me up.
I called FedEx. FedEx told me there is no package coming to my address through them.

Virginwines

dont buy virgin wines

Reading these reviews i can see im not alone , when it comes to this co. I also took up the offer of a £40.00 discount , for just the one case for Xmas.
In Feb. looking at my bank statement there was £97.98 taken without my permission, they have now refunded £89.99, taking the £7.99 del. charge.........
The name as some one else says you tend to trust, dont trust this co. Stay well away..

Don't expect them to be able to deliver!

I joined Virgin wines after being offered a £40 voucher towards a case of wine. Having thought this was a great idea and thinking 'this would be a great addition to take to a family holiday pre-Christmas. How very wrong was I!! After trying to order using the online process and failing because their website didn't like my name and address, I then attempted to order via the telephone. A gentleman saw what was wrong, rectified it and placed my order. Wonderful, you would think!? Nope, he didn't put the correct address into the delivery address and missed out the key part of any address, the house/building number! Doh! Not realising this until the wine hadn't turned up some 4 days later, I contacted the customer service department for Virgin wines only to be told that two attempts had been made to deliver the wine and the delivery company saying 'the address is incomplete or does not exist' Now call me silly, but if that was the case, wouldn't you expect 'customer services' to contact you to check the details and out of courtesy, at least call you to say there had been a failed delivery? Not Virgin wines, its down to the customer (and a new one at that) to raise concern. Happy enough to take your money but not happy enough to provide decent customer service. So, it's now less than 24 hours until I have to travel, without the case of wine I was looking forward to taking. I speak with a lovely young lady in their customer service department who tells me that the parcel is in a 'local' depot and it would't be possible to deliver it to me before I had to leave on my travels. So I ask for the 'local' depot details so I can go and collect it..........this turns out to be 70 miles away (nice and local as you can see) The lovely young lady tells me that the parcel is at the depot, I can go and collect it and they'll be expecting me. So off I trot, 70 miles later and just over an hour and ten mins have passed, I arrive at the depot. Sorry Sir, your parcel is on a van and it's about two miles from your address, WHAT?!?!?!?!?!??! And cue telephone call to Virgin wines customer services........helpful?! Not in the slightest. So I frantically drive back to where I had originally been (another 70 miles) to be met by the delivery driver who then hands over the parcel. 140 mile round trip, £60 in fuel and three hours of my evening later and its all over.

What do Virgin wines offer as a sorry???? -----> £16!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry, but this company is an absolute shambles and if you can get your wine elsewhere I'd strongly advise you to do that. I work for one of the UK's largest organisations and I will definitely be spreading the word about this one.

Virgin wines, you're an absolute disappointment.

Virginwines

What a con

What a Con. Virgin wines added me to their discovery membership ( sending out a 12 bottle case, every 3 months which you can skip at any time.)
After telling them I did not want a pre xmas delivery they then sent me a special xmas case as well as the regular case and without my knowledge did two unauthorised transactions on my credit card.
They completely ignored me when I said I did not want the delivery, ignored their terms and conditions, ignored consumer legislation, and in my opinion illegally used my credit card.
I have canceled my credit card just before xmas to prevent any further unauthorised transactions which as we all know causes a lot of problems including now limiting my xmas shopping.
All of the above for wine that in my opinion is jjust drinkable if you are not fussy.
My advise DO NOT order wine from them.

Good service but not suitable for everyone

Good experience with Virgin Wines when I ordered my first caseload then they sent me an email three months later if I wanted the same caseload order every three months, I just had to do nothing and let it happen automatically! Wooah! Hold on a minute, I had to email them several times to make sure they didn't trap me into buying more wine. I should be able to order more wine WHEN I want to, not when they dictate me to do do! No longer with them but it was a good service and a good deal when I used them before.

What A Con

What a Con. Virgin wines added me to their discovery membership ( sending out a 12 bottle case, every 3 months ) , without my knowledge , took £96 from my bank account , without informing me , which their terms and conditions say they should .
Mediocre wines , not good value .
Cancelling my membership now .
Naked wines , a much better company , no hidden membership/ sign ups, better wines etc

Virginwines

Not up to Virgin standards, always thought it was a brand to trust, now not so sure

Promo offer was poor quality wine. 3 months later £96 odd was taken off my card, when tackled they said it was because I DIDN'T reply to their emails, so they assumed I wanted more of their wines!!!! The truth of the matter is their wines are overpriced and the same wines can be bought much cheaper elsewhere in store. I hadn't replied because they bombarded my email account with so many emails that I put them straight into the waste bin as spam. I will refuse delivery, which I am told will arrive today and wait to receive the full credit back to my account, which has been promised for four days time...we'll see!!! BEWARE.
PS I wish I could take £100 off each of my customers every 3 months when they haven't contacted me!!!

Virginwines

Total Scam

Read the reviews, this company is a total scam. I live in Napa Valley and decided to give them a try via the promo. offer. The wines were terrible; I could have gotten better quality at the gas station. Then, I was charged $180 on my credit card a few months later, with NO prior notification. When I called, they rudely admitted that they had inputted my information wrong, and that it was their fault for me not being notified. No reparation was made, and I had to contact them multiple times to assure that my account was canceled despite numerous promises that I’d receive a “cancellation confirmation” notification. Don’t even do the promo. offer, it’s NOT worth it!! These guys are con-artists and I’m so worried what they might do with my credit card information.

Thanks for a happy Christmas

Have used,

Delivered exactly as promised.

Did not join the club and there has been no hassling from them.

The wines were great and worth the money.

Thanks,

Virginwines

A complete con

Seem to receive non-branded - substandard wine offers with every internet order these days.

I dont want your wine - i dont want to pay £20 delivery on top. Keep them to yourselves.

Virginwines

Quality for price just not that good

That is the main problem really. Any know wine like cloudy bay is over £5 more expensive here that in Waitrose. Their mixed cases work out not a good value for money

Virginwines

Virgin tries the hardest to find the wines you want to try

They consistently offer a huge range of wines, all of which are worth a punt. If you don't like them, they refund you, so basically you can't lose. I even contacted them about wines for a wedding, and they were just so helpful, totally amazing

Virginwines

Prompt

These guys have it sorted. When you forget to order a decreet email lands with their latest offer. Good selection of wines and a very prompt delivery service.

Virginwines

problem purchasing

their system refused to accept our address,(four times!) an agent responded they had fixed the issue, MANY emails later they still act like robots and the address issue remains !! we bought Tesco wines..
