...Now they just have an annoying sales force.
By the way I've been with them for over ten years and I think it's time for a change.
Have been with Vodafone for about 5 years now and think they have a lot to offer. Their price and call plans are very competitive and I would recommend to anyone - nice feature is their Freebee Rewardz so every time you top up you earn points which can be redeemed and spent in a variety of locations from store gift vouchers to paintballing, or if you prefer a free top up.
I am also an O2 customer but this doesn't compare at all!
Service is generally pretty good, but don't bother contacting their customer services. I asked if I could get another user on my account to view my bills. Was told they would set up an email to them. Nothing happened, the notes did not mention that promise, their complaints website form is broken and they didn't reply to a complaint letter.
So phone connection + 3G: 5 out of 5
Customer service : -1 / 5,
so a total score of 2 / 5
The website of Vodafone as well as provide all the news about the new promotions also offers information on their number. There should be more chances to win free refills, and more transparency on information related to their number.
Moved to Vodafone from 02 thinking that it would be better for signal around the country.
Didn't get what I though I was going to get though, in places there is no signal at all.
Maybe I am just unlucky but other than that the service and help has been superb, no issues with the company, just the signal could be better in certain places around the country
Mobile phone customer service is hard to come by, but I've always been pleased with vodafones service when overseas
After my two year contract was up, I thought about upgrading to a new handset, but knowing that as soon as you have got the latest model in your hands for longer than five minuets along comes a brand new one on to the market which seems to knock yours back into last years handset.
However i have to say, I own a HTC Desire and i am very happy with it and was reluctant to upgrade to the latest model. So i contacted Vodafone and asked what are my options? They were very helpful they went through my price plan and my usage and came up in my opinion with a great deal! basically keep my old handset and then keep the same options 600 Min's free calls unlimited text, and 500MB of web browsing, which i was paying nearly £50 if you include the VAT, my new deal was dropped down to £10.25p a month giving me a saving of £480 a year, that's so long as i stay within my limits.
I went on the new deal and waited for my next bill it was for £40 but that included a set up fee and old usage. My new bill is £20.27 and i have to say i am one happy bunny as i am a heavy user on the web browser, once my free allowance of usage was up i then purchased a further 500MB at a cost of £5.
I would honestly say the only thing i think Vodafone should consider is upgrading the limit on the browsers, there coverage is and has been trouble free for me.
I would consider Vodafone over most other companies for coverage of areas and their customer service.
rip u off every time !
i have had 3 phone from this company and everytime i have been charged over the price i wanted by 7 fold ! on my last contract with them charged me £50 each month rather to the £25 i was meant to have and for 2 years i called up and had them take off the extra charge as what they said i had i didnt have.
pushy staff and unhelpful in store ! bit better on call centers.
Oh well, no one really cares... particularly Vodafone... bizarre experience all throughout... will change as soon as I can.
Like most people, I have a love-hate relationship with my mobile network operator.
I've been with Vodafone since the company I signed up with over 10 years ago was bought by them, so have been with them long enough to have gone through several different experiences, including wanting to leave them, having my phone stolen, upgrading, etc.
To be honest, and this might not be a popular opinion, their service has always been pretty good.
The one time so far I've ever had anything stolen, it was relatively painless to replace it once I had a crime number and a couple of phone calls and one delivery later I was back in business (literally).
When I wanted to leave them it was because my tariff at the time didn't charged me calling people on other networks and hardly anyone I knew was on Vodafone. They changed my tariff to help me. I'm sure some might argue that they ought to have supplied me with that automatically, but I was on a very old tariff.
Coverage-wise I've always loved Vodafone. Am able to get reception pretty much everywhere except for some remote places where you're unlikely to expect coverage or to receive any calls anyway. I've heard friends complain before about a lack of coverage by some other networks in London and been wondered how on earth that could be.
When I finally surrendered to a smartphone, their shop staff were great setting me up, and it's never been anything but easy.
They lose 2 stars for failing to pay their full tax bill to the government though. They wouldn't let me not pay their bills, so why should I go completely easy on them?

Liars and con merchants; the tariif you agree with their salespeople is not what you will receive in the written contract (which is then sent to the wrong address)
I have had mobile services through Virgin for over ten years. The downside was the the patchy reception I got when I moved house, so I gave Vodafone a go. I got great signal reception but the customer service was dreadful. I was never probably able to access my account on-line despite spending hours waiting to speak to customers service, whose English is often so poor that the are incomprehensible. When my contract completed I emailed stating my intention was to finish the service. Having received no reply I decided to give up an evening waiting to deal with customer service who said the email did not reach them so I had to give another four weeks worth of notice and pay for a service I was not using. I should have complained but you get so tired of dealing with non-English speakers that are only interested in following the company line. Back to Virgin!
Good company and not bad customer service, although dongle service is really bad, hance the drop of one star.
Been a contract customer for 19 years since 1993 and upgraded to iphone4S last week Paid £79 one off fee and agreed to £41 + £12.99 vodaphone insurance pcm. Nightmare to keep original number took 4 hours of phone calls as they changed me to pay as you go but didn't put any credit on the phone although I had 900 mins and 300 mins left over from last contract. On house phone to 087 number next day for nearly 2 hours as they had no record of me in PAYG OR Contract! Gets new phone delivered and it's a micro sim but my old one was larger sim which they've now cancelled so STILL NO PHONE Just over hour later on phone got a working phone.... yippeeee.....Phone faulty doesn't work properly another hour on phone then two hours to back up my sim and reload whole operating system via the internet to be told that I need a new phone as this one is defective!!! This was friday. Waited all day today for new phone coming and my next door neighbour came around at 1810hrs with a card NUMBER 26779201 from DPD Vodaphone Delivery Service.... They'd only tried to deliver it next door. We are detached for Gods sake! What a shower. I've cancelled after 19 years of loyal service and am aghast at the shabby incompetent service I've received. I can't email them as their email is still down from Friday that I know of and I'm fuming.
I started on vodafone with my first phone many years ago. Over the years had tried orange and 02 and a couple of others but am back with vodafone. With the other networks i found loss of connection when inside large buildings i.e ikea and problems abroad. I have never had a problem with vodafone on any occasion so i'm back to where i started.
Me and my husband use them on a shared plan basis and their service is superb. Everyone should be on Vodafone!
I've been with Vodafone since 2008 now. They do offer pretty good prices with contracts and Sim Only; however I find that in my area the Signal is rather flimsy. I suffer constant drop outs; occasional the network stops responding. Reports are to do with the Signal Masts; which many where damaged from January's storms. Customer service are okay, although sometimes the person on the other side of the phone don't want to speak to you and I have had a call dropped on me in the past.
I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Ace, I have family members using worse phones on O2 and they get full 3G without any real problems; I however get 2 - 3 Bars of 3G, constant drop outs and struggle to get an active connection when out and about even on 2G (which I get full). My area is Mapped as "Good Indoors" but it sure doesn't feel like it. I struggle with phone calls as my phone will hang up because of signal lost; it has done this for my last 3 phones since moving to the area. I'm still using the same Sim issued in 2008 so I don't know if that is the problem but I plan to pop into a Vodafone store and try find a reason to this appalling signal problem. If Vodafone sort the signal problems out especially in my area I'd be happy to give them a 5 Star.
Having been a Vodafone customer for over 20 years, I checked my account before Christmas and was happy to see I could upgrade my phone towards the end of January, Come the day close to upgrading I decided to see what my next phone would be only to find the upgrade date had been moved to May. I phoned and was told it was a limited internet deal, I like to call it their GOOD TO CLOSE deal...
THe most inept customer services I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing!! I'm a human being with an issue that is why I call, I'm not interested how your SO happy my day is ok or listening to your auto Q about my problem, I want it resolved, something no one can seem to manage!!
I'm told email in, yet the system is down (has been for over a week!), I'm told go into store, yet there not interested! Why can no one assist me! Perhaps it's because the whole company is inept!!!
Wish could go somewhere else!!!
Never had a problem with them in many years with them. Not had one fault or bill problem. However when it came to upgrading, I had to go through phones4u whose service I have never used before as they gave me a better deal than Vodafone direct whom I have been with for 10 years.
Have been a customer of vodafone for over ten years and have had no problems with the company nor any reason to be unsatisfied with the service.
I've had signal when other networks have failed, and only twice had no signal for more than a couple of hours.
Telephone contact, online ordering, account records, all faultless. Long may it carry on!
I recently tried placed an order for two Iphones for me and my colleague. I got a confirmation order but after 10 days waiting I phoned to be told they did not allow 2 orders to the one person, despite the salesman over the phone advising it would be ok.
I ended up buying an iphone out of one of the stores but later found they were billing me for the new phone and a phone from the initial order!
I tried speaking to the call centre but it's not easy when it's based in Egypt.
Despite writing a letter I am still trying to get the matter resolved.
Really poor site. Poor navigation, unintuitive, more interested in selling you stuff than giving you any insight. Crashes a lot. A good reason to move to another carrier IMO.
A bunch of crooks, had 12 months of hell, they defaulted me even though agreed to cancel the contract due to breach on their part no reception for 3 wks unable to receive/make calls denied I ever called them even though got 40 mins a time phone bill recordings give u wrong names, and then send out debt collectors to harass you,
They hide behind their big name and steel off their loyal customers.
Beware vodaphone are corrupt all the way .
I like them for the good coverage, and perks. Particularly like their "Friends and familly", which saves me a fortune. Their overseas charges are a bit high. Didn't like that they dropped "Bonus Bank", in favour of "Rewards", which take forever to get anything worthwhile.
I have been with Vodafone for about 16years now, there always coming up with new way's to save you money. Although credit does go quick, so it's always good to use the bundles if your on pay as you go. I've no idea about contact though sorry, i've always been on pay as you go. :)
I have been with the Vodafone network for 10 years now. Although I am on pay as you go and not contract as I like to be in control of my spending and do not use the mobile enough to justify a contract. I always have my mobile when I am out in the car and on holiday. I am more than satisfied with the Vodafone network, coverage is excellent and always available. Customer service is excellent. Highly recommend Vodafone
The network itself has decent coverage, although the 3G signal is not as good in certain areas as other networks. I found customer services were quite unhelpful when experiencing problems tethering on my iphone
