They suddenly take a dislike to a product and you never see it again....! The latest is my brand of sparkling water..it was nearly the cheapest, in glass ... now its gone! And its apparently not coming back! something else I have to go to Tesco/Sainsbury for....?
Shopping experience at Waitrose is a pleasure and that's why it is one of the very few bric and mortar shopping I am still doing. I like their latest initiative for DYI scanning and fast check out, although there is room for improvement with their firmware and application. Why not developing an App for Smart Phones instead of using the bulky scanners, payment could be done automatically with a smart phone too.
Good shopping experience, very good quality produce and excellent customer service. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, everyone is nice to speak to in store. Pricing is good and own brand products second to none!!
I have to travel far to find my nearest Waitrose as I live near Pickering, North Yorkshire. There is one in York, and one at Willerby near Beverley. I have also been to the branch in Harrogate. I love the system where you pick up a hand scanner and scan each item as you place it in your shopping bag. Then before leaving the store you can pay without queueing.
A lot of people think that Waitrose is prohibitively expensive, but I totally disagree. Yes, there is a lot of quality food and with this comes a higher price, but a lot of everyday items are the same price or less compared to the 'big three' supermarkets. As long as you stay in control and don't let too many luxury items seduce you then you will not be shocked when you pay. In York, which I have now adopted as my local store, the staff are so cheerful and helpful. It comes across that they actually want to be there and like helping people, which is not true of some of the other supermarkets. I have to negotiate a lot of traffic to get to Waitrose in York (Foss Islands Road) but it is well worth it. I highly recommend Waitrose, I just wish there was one nearer.
I asked some simple questions about click and collect service. Then suddenly with only 3 questions asked I got a lot of agression from the staff member. Refused to give me her name as she was not wearing a name badge. Told me to "get out of here". Absolutely appauling behaviour. Reported complaint to head office.
This is the only supermarket where the customer counts. The service is exceptional and you are always treated with courtesy and respect - the same can no longer be said of other major supermarkets who treat you as a till filler and nothing more. Good old fashioned service is the order of the day with Waitrose. Thank you
I like the ease of online shopping using my local branch of Waitrose. The service has been good apart from the short life of some of the products. I have noticed this in store, and have found products well past their sell by date. My delivery yesterday, 2nd March, contained smoked salmon dated best before 2nd March. I find this totally unacceptable and it really should not happen. It puts me off using the service again.
I really like Waitrose, I like the atmosphere the way the products are presented and I even like the prices..most of the time.
They have got it really sussed, and I'll always choose them over the other big 5 supermarkets where available.

Trusted provider for our weekly shop, quality products and service and competitive prices, with checkout staff that you can actually converse with rather than get a grunt from, what's not to like....this should be the largest supermarket chain in the country not the arrogant one beginning with T.......
Talk about quality baby Waitrose has it all:-)
When I moved to the UK from the US of A I was bowled over by the quality of food especially at your Waitrose store and the quality of service would make many America food store envious. We took some bananas back last week (I know it sound silly) but they exchanged them without any fuss and we were so taken back by how helpful and friendly the staff were to us.
Thank you Waitrose you really made my day:-)
Late shopping, short dated goods and a customer service team that only reply with standard paragraphs and don't deal with the issues raised. I have only just received a credit for unsuitable goods that was promised straight after the initial delivery 2 months ago. Asda, Tesco's & Sainsburys all beat Waitrose. Worst on-line shopping and customer service I have experienced.
Waitrose is simply hands down the best Super Market in Britain..... nothing comes close in terms of quality of food for price and the variety of product lines on offer - far far more lines than Tesco/Sainsburys etc. I think their slogan(s) say it all - "Waitrose - quality food, honestly priced" and "Their is little more important in life than the food you eat"
Waitrose are this and more - my big hope is that consumers start to understand that you get what you pay for and Waitrose are better value for money than the other big four by a mile.....
Due to time constraints and wanting the best as I had a freind coming to stay, I ordered online from Waitrrose. It's not something I would do regularly, but in the right situation will definitely do it again. The ordering system was easy, the driver was on time, helpful and courteous and even a little glitch was sorted immediately on the phone. Their service is faultless, just wish I could afford to use Waitrose all the time!
I shop online for groceries often and used to be able to rely on Waitrose in Morningside Edinburgh to deliver a good quality shop with reasonable sell by dates on fresh goods. Not any more. My last but one order with Waitrose delivered an expensive frozen cheescake in a damaged and holed box with no additional internal wrapping so to be safe I threw the cheescake out. I let this go as a one-off. This week however some frozen battered cod arrived genuinely battered as though the box had been allowed to get too warm in transit and the melting frost had damaged the box and again there was a hole in the box. I have just wasted 30 minutes trimming off and discarding the 50% unusable fat and grizzle from braising steak delivered for a casserole - the meat had a 1 day best before date on delivery yesterday. It would have been cheaper to use rump steak. Quality down, prices up, apaprent sloppy handling and storage, short sell-by/use-dates - what's so special about Waitrose now?
Their prices are sometimes expensive but they do stock lines which you cant get at the likes of Asda or Tesco. Their central london store is always packed and messy, I suggest if you do try them go to a quieter store out of the city.
We are convinced that you can't fill you shopping basket cheaper than using waitrose own brand every week (minimum standards of quality apply to this statement!) but what a complete trial having to use the website. The local store is only small and so home delivery is the best option and it's FREE but what a complete dog of a website - slow, counter-intuitive and prone to crashing. When you see how slick the Tesco website is Waitrose have no excuse for putting their customers through such an IT sticky toffee pudding. Best service, best products but worst internet experience - i am at a loss to work out how the JLP think this is a good way of doing business.
I use this site on a weekly basis to order my shopping. Generally it is a good site and reviews of products is a good feature, however sometimes it is hard to find what you are looking for, and often I have found things in a section I didn't expect to see it.
Their prices are very competitive and people think they are expensive but I have compared my shopping trolley frequently to the same trolley at Tesco, and it either comes out about the same or cheaper.
The ordering process is very easy. You can choose your own delivery times and select a time when there is already a delivery van in your area, if that time suits you. They deliver on time. You always get notified by text (if you select) who your driver is going to be and what van they are going to be in. Each driver has always been very courteous and friendly. They also take away your old carrier bags for you too.
We love Waitrose for shopping, the quality is super, worth a few pence more every time. Staff are great, layout very friendly with wide aisles. You deserve to do well. One big fault is the fact that you do not deliver to The East Coast of Lincolnshire. Our nearest store is Lincoln (37 miles) Why not save us the fuel? Everyone else does.We can order wine on line from you, but groceries, no? Why not when we have ASDA - Co-op, Tesco,Sainsburys vans passing every day. I would suggest that you lose £1000per annum turnover - just from us each year. We have friends who also would be interested - so come on & join the 100% service club.
