I bought some magic the gathering cards from Wayland games at the beginning of October for a birthday present. They had the "real time stock level". So, I received an email this morning detailing that part of my order is no longer available; the return to Ravnica battle booster packs. I ordered these products over a month ago and have heard nothing since, and when I ordered I saw that 4 2013 packs were in stock and over 50 of the Ravnica battle booster packs. I chased up the order two weeks ago only to be told that you were waiting for the 2013 packs to be in stock. If they were out of stock, why sell out of stock products anyway! And their "real time stock level" is obviously glitches. However, I would like to know, with the Ravnica battle booster packs, seeing as there were apparently over 50 in stock when i ordered, why were these not reserved for me at the time my payment was accepted? Therefore, Why did they give priority to other customers when my order was first? I have cancelled the whole order and am expecting a refund. I think that their customer service is shocking, they could have emailed me to let me know they were waiting for stock but no, i have the chase it up myself, and i am livid, seeing as these were part of a birthday present which is now a month late and I have a very disgruntled 13 year old brother. I thought I would order from Wayland because they looked genuine and the products in question were cheaper than elsewhere. I suppose it just goes to show that you're better of buying the products full price from the official people rather than third party distributors at cut price, because if you do you certainly pay in waiting time and poor customer service. I had better get my refund within the week or there will be hell to pay. I am also contacting trading standards about Wayland games as they shouldn't be selling products that they don't have in stock, therefore promising the customer something and failing to deliver. I have never had such a bad experience in my life I would avoid them at all costs and buy your MTG from Waterstones and Warhammer from Games Workshop. Yeah you pay full price, but at least they know how to give good customer service.
Ive made two orders from Wayland Games. The first was several items listed as 'In Stock, dispatched in 3-9 Working Days' It was dispatched in exactly 9 working days and arrived next day, well packaged and intact. Second was two items both listed as 'In Stock' with a realtime stock level. The moment i ordered these the stock levels on the website were reduced to take into account my order. The order was dispatched the next morning and arrived the morning after that, again well packaged and intact.
The simple expedient of realtime stock levels gives this review the 5th Star. Though i have only had two experiences with this company both will lead me to return to them.
I order board game at the store and I have been informed that they haven't got it in stock and waiting for order. Which can happen to anybody. However, I waited a month and during that time they were still selling the item. Really poor store. Order only if you don't mind waiting!!!
I recently completed my second order with this company. I had left it really late to order a gift for my son, and then messed up the paypal transaction (my fault) so the order hadn't gone through. I explained the situation and they rushed the order through specially for me. I have previously phoned just for advice on which item to buy and the really friendly guys (all men?) there were very keen to help.
Ordered items Sunday night and paid for next day delivery. I was expecting these to be delivered on Tuesday as per their website.
No delivery on Tuesday. Contacted wayland who responded quickly. They informed me that Royal Mail did not pick up their mail on Monday. No one thought to contact me about this hitch I found very disappointing considering I picked special delivery.
It took multiple emails to get a refund for the shipping as the service I paid for was not delivered.
To top it all the chap I was dealing with did not know if it would be sent today either...
They did however confirm later today it was sent
Sure the products were cheaper. But I will pay more to a company that has a clue next time.
Generally an okay company, but not without problems. While Wayland's "Traffic Light" system of stock availability might seem helpful, it is actually far from. I've ordered items listed as "High Availability" only to discover they are in fact unavailable for the forseeable future. They seem to have now added actual stock levels to the website, which is more helpful, but this doesn't help with Wayland's somewhat flexible definition of "High Availability". They also seem to be quite slow at updating items availability when it changes. Most irritatingly, it often doesn't become apparent that an item was unavailable until it is not in the package along with the others.
Ive spent over a grand in the last moth or so Ive bought from Maelstrom gaming and from Wayland games twice each. Both times I was disgusted how bad they dealt with my order. It took weeks , no replies, hang up on me, didnt inform me and took my money and still messed up my order plus having things in stock on live stock levels then deciding they dont have it in dont tell me but take my money. Maelstrom took nearly £50 from a £120 order charged me and sent me half an order. Called them over 50-60 times nothing . Emailed them threatened legal action nothing. Dont have much choice these days so tried Rocket Hobbies which a mate suggested and so far on my 3rd order and theyve been great. Ive played for years but stopped for about 7 years get back into 40k and not had much luck with sellers up until Rocket Hobbies and would recommend to anyone great service too. Its a damn shame when people get shafted by companies that just dont care
