I've deliberately held off writing this review for a couple of months to enable me to really test my new pc & thereby give an honest review. What can I say other than it's the best money I could ever have spent on a new pc for my purposes :-) For simmers out there I bought the basic machine but upgraded to an I7 overclocked cpu, better cooling system & 16 gb ram (the latter was for the DAW I also use - 8gb would suffice for FSX). Although I also have P3Dv2 I'm sticking with FSX until all the s/ware becomes compatible. I run FSX with mainly Orbx scenery, UTX & ActiveSky Next.. I genarally fly VFR with Carenado aircraft so the pc has plenty of work to do! With the sliders pretty much set to max & the fps limiter set to 50 my machine has no trouble performing with no stuttering :-) Wired2Fire provide a 1st class service & when contacted by phone for a couple of minor queries were extremely helpful & efficient! Nothing but praise from me.......buy with confidence!
I am extremely happy with the PC I bought from Wired2Fire. The machine has been really nicely built, great choice of hardware options when ordering and most importantly, great value for what I spent, both in terms of the PC and the service. I definitely would and will recommend Wired2Fire to anyone I know looking for a new PC.
Ok, so firstly I'd like to point out that I’m writing this review having already owned my PC from Wired2fire for nearly 2 years. There are tons of reviews around the web going on about their great specs and customer service so I thought I'd save my review until I'd really tested my machine. It's fantastic! I actually did a fair amount of research before choosing Wired2fire. I read on forums and checked on computer magazines recommended lists. I actually found that the raw parts for the machine were all top notch and would cost nearly the same to buy separately anyway. I’ve had literally zero problems with my PC at all. I have it running practically all day every day. I use it for high end gaming pretty regularly. I also use it for music production and occasionally video editing. The graphics card consistently stays on the ‘cool’ to ‘medium’ and I’ve have not had one single blue screen of death!! Every other PC I have owned/built have all experienced some form of problem. This has literally had zero. Seems it really pays to be lazy and get a pro to build one for you! On a side note, and although I can see it is mentioned in a few of the other reviews, their sales team were really friendly and refreshingly none pushy. There’s nothing as grating and off-putting as having someone try to hard sell and I felt like Wired2fire came across as friendly and genuinely interested in sorting me out with a machine suitable to my needs. I have/would recommend Wired2fire to literally anyone needing a PC. A massive high five from me!!!
At first I needed an advisor to find something suitable for what I wanted. I had spoken to several companies similar to Wired2fire. Although the service levels with Wired2fire and their general attitude was well above the rest which was well recieved. After finalising my order and blown away at the price for what I needed it was obvious that other companies were trying to over sell me. Once I had recieved my PC the build quality was tidy inside and well presented. Exactly what I wanted. I had a few problems with the start up (software related outside of Wired2fire's control) and Wired2fire were more than welcome to assist . This was beyond my expectation as an overall purchasing experience. Great Job Guys!
Took time and trouble to find out what I really needed, then spec'd it. Did not push the most expensive. Not what mates recc'd - better/cheaper too. Arrived when promised, well packed. Great machine, no more lugging a ton to LANs.
Without doubt the best PC I've ever bought. The machine came very well packaged and included all the component boxes and unused spare accessories. Inside the case, cables were neatly tied and components laid out well. Overclocking and optimisation was done perfectly. I particularly liked the fact that the default install was blissfully free of bloatware and even came with a recommendation around avoiding intrusive anti-virus packages. Wired2Fire are a joy to deal with and retain that 'small-company feel' - no telephone voice menus, operators reading from screens or hidden extras - you just speak direct to knowledgeable, helpful people. I would definitely buy from Wired2Fire again.
I've had FSX since it came out, but neither of my last two PCs have been able to do it justice. Web searches took me to wired2fire. I considered a Sim X 3000. They simply and honestly answered my questions and I ordered a slightly modified version. Never once was there any attempt to hard sell, not even "would you like to order now". I was kept informed as to progress, it was delivered exactly as promised, with tracking, and worked perfectly straight out of the box. FSX runs beautifully with full UK add-on scenery and two monitors, and I usually have 7 'views' open. I've had the odd crash of FSX under windows 7 but that's Microsoft bugs not the PC. Had it two weeks and I've hardly been off it. E-mail / web / installing other software / copying files & photos over etc has been quick and faultless. Buying online can be scary but I'm delighted and the service so far has been great. For context, I'm 58, use a PC at work and at home but not a techy, or a big gamer, though also like driving on PS3.
Episode 1: A disturbance in the force. So, some 22 months back I learned I was gonna be a daddy(!). A few short moments later, I reluctantly entered the key words 'custom built gaming PC uk' into my preferred search engine as I knew that time was running short and my rig had to be updated before the lil' bearcub arrived. This new rig would also need to keep me satisfied as an avid gamer for 3 - 4 years with the option of upgrading components.
I initially approached Beast Computers via e-mail with a budget and a brief. I was swiftly contacted in return by a polite, knowledgable and informative member of Wired2Fire's staff who had created an excellent quote which he felt would match my budget and my gaming needs. I took some time to study the average prices of the components suggested in the quote, what I found was that Wired2Fire appeared to be creating PCs without profit!
The fact that their gaming PCs also came with overclocking, which improves processor speed, was also very appealing. My quote was discussed and I had a request regarding the tower case which was immediately accommodated (less flashy lights, therefore no interest to a curious, dribbling, grubby fingered future toddler). The deal was struck, I began to wring my hands in anticipation...
Episode 2: The Tower of Power. I received updates on the progress of the build, naturally I wanted the rig immediately but I understood that these things would take time. My aim for the rig was to game and game hard. I've not been disappointed over previous months and here's why... My Wired2Fire PC has exceeded my expectations and handles contemporary titles such as: Various Crysis titles, Deus Ex, Farcry 3 - Blood Dragon; Skyrim (plus a multitude of mods); Fallout NV; Rage (not so contemporary now but pretty heavy on the gfx card all the same) with complete ease. I've revisited other graphically demanding FPS such as the Bioshock and Battlefield series' and found that the PC handled them on max settings with ease. Castlevania LOS looks exquisite also. I wonder how my rig might handle the new Snowdrop engine used in upcoming titles such as Tom Clancy's 'The Division'. Have to wait and see.
Furthermore, when any time has been spent MMO gaming I've always felt I had an edge over competitors due to the speed at which I could respond to situations and the confidence that all aspects of my interface with the gaming world (gfx, display, sound, mouse & keys) were all working in unison. Ping usually fine too as I'm based in London.
Never a glitch, blue screen of death or overheated processor has been encountered and the trial period with Bullguard introduced me to another trustworthy company. I've encountered no issues with security. The Tower of Power itself works very quietly and shows Wired2Fire's excellent attention to detail regarding the internal cabling and build quality.
Episode 3: The gaming world turns. I'm looking forwards to upgrading in the future when the requirements for gaming PCs evolve. I will be approaching Wired2Fire for advice and, in their own words, "There are always plenty of options to speed things up again. As always we can point you in the right direction for spending less money for real performance benefits." Even after the sale I'm still contacted and the staff show they appreciate my feedback.
I have recommended Wired2Fire to a friend who wishes to leave consoles and enter the real gaming sphere. He also received excellent advice, a very reasonable quote and prompt service similar to my own experience with the company. Could the customer service have been improved? Not in my opinion and I monitor and assess customer service for a living. Could my rig be improved given the budget I had to spend? Sure, add a beer tap from which flows cold Sierra Nevada ale, a tube providing ice cold Rittenhouse Rye Whisky, a Pizza oven and a tissue teleporter for pvp victims but I guess I'll be waiting a little while longer for their availability...
All in all, a damned fine gaming rig - best I've ever had - and I've recommended Wired2Fire as a company to my friends. You should check them out too."
Update for 2014 - My new daughter (2nd child) was born 21st Dec 2013. I now have even less time to play on this rig. I often weep whilst I laugh uncontrollably at my two clones.
Need I say more? The name of the company gives it away.. Wired2fire provide an exceptional service for anybodys computing needs from basic systems to high end water cooled beastly systems! The team work great together have a great sense of humour and really go the distance to give you a tailored system for your needs as its their passion in building these systems and of course after sales support is exceptional! Look no further, stick to wired2fire and your system will literally be WIRED 2 FIRE and blow you away! You will not be dissappinted that is my guarantee.
I'm really pleased with the PC that I've had from Wired2Fire for more than 6 months now. We met at a computer fair (Iseries) and their openness and desire to help convinced me to move from self building to buying from a good company. It's been absolutely worth it. I could have saved a small amount of money getting the parts and building them myself but the little bit of additional cost of buying from them has been absolutely rewarded with a stable machine, great advice on how to spec up the system for my own needs and ongoing help in connecting new peripherals/monitors etc.
I highly, highly recommend these guys for your next PC. They really listened to what I needed and put up with my incessant questioning!
Why waste your time learning about all the latest components and overclocking when they have done it all for you?
Why I chose W2F. After buying a new computer from another company, specifically for use with Flight Sim FSX, and finally getting my money back after it didn’t perform as I’d been led to believe. Over the following 12 months I physically visited seven companies offering computers for Flight Sim. A lot of miles and a lot of journeys to Plymouth, Portsmouth, London, Birmingham, Derby from Penkhull, Stoke on Trent where I live. I was also lucky to find a specialist American company from whom I received free, friendly and most useful and extensive information, in helping decide who to choose (they don’t export to the UK). I’m surprised they didn’t tell me to sod off, talk about patience! So thanks a heap to Geoff of Jetline Systems as well.
The two companies I finally shortlisted, after many quotes, spec’s and discussions, were Chillblast and Wired2Fire, both who seemed to be well ahead of their rivals on a number of counts. After very careful consideration I chose Wired2Fire and I have absolutely no regrets 20 months later.
Their system performs brilliantly, even after myriads of add-ons. One small part failure enabled me to check out how they reacted to after sales issues. The new part was sent immediately in the post, arrived next day and there were no quibbles about having a faulty part returned to check first). And now, 20 months after arrival (they previously loaded many disks of my software and then came and fitted it in for me at a very reasonable amount) it still is as good as new.
The after sales and tech’ service (mainly needed for advice, as I’m a bit of a computer dummy) is excellent and I love the two year guarantee.
I would have absolutely no hesitation about recommending W2F, it has been a pleasure to deal with them from the very beginning. No sales bullshit, no exaggerations, no claims of competence followed by disaster, just genuine friendly, patient, professional and competent help and a real desire to make sure you’re treated well. I am now enjoying a brilliant and reliable (overclocked) triple screen gem. Thanks to Toby, James, Hal and Peter.
I’ve waited this long to say anything, to see how good they were after I’d parted with my hard earned bank loan.. They haven’t let me down and I don’t compliment lightly.
PS, they didn’t ask me to do this, nor have I been offered any money and none of them are friends or relatives!) Anyone who wants any more details, just email me on email@example.com. If you're in this area and would like to see the system and have a go, you'd be welcome - just email me. Happy 'Simming and a Happy New Year, Barry
Ordered a gaming PC just in time for Christmas, on 5 day order. Whole process went perfectly, communication excellent. Delivered on time, to build spec and a bit, and works perfectly. When I phoned for update/advice the response was quick, accurate and always helpful. For me it has been an easy, and 100% perfect buying process. Would, and am, recommending to all I speak with.
After years of struggling with computers which barely managed to run FSX, let alone run it well, Toby and James talked me through my options and provided a system which runs FSX really well - so far, not a single issue with reliability or performance. I'm finally able to max out graphics settings, and to do a long haul flight from London to Hong Kong with absolute confidence it won't crash the PC. It was at a good price too - far more affordable than the other systems I looked at. It was a additional bonus that the W2F guys were always available by phone, that I always spoke to the same few people, that they went the extra mile to build what I was looking for - in all respects a really great customer experience.
The build quality of the systems are incredibly good, and any issues you have after the delivery of your system and quickly and professionally deal with. A very good company, who obviously have a lot of pride in what they are doing
