Amazing PCs and flawless customer service

I needed a gaming PC, but with all the ever-changing technology and the confusing mess of different opinions and recommendations out there from gamers and retailers alike, I wasn't sure where to turn. Someone recommended the W2F website and I decided to give them a try. The website is extremely customer friendly and takes care to explain what each component is and how it would affect your build. Customer service is unmatched. They are endlessly helpful over the phone and respond quickly to emails. After placing an order you are emailed updates of its status throughout the whole process. I have had two PCs from them now and both are incredible. Fast, powerful, quiet and above all they last. Despite my oldest PC being several years old now, it still performs perfectly. This is a professional, efficient and extremely reliable company. Building your own PC is a personal thing and these guys realise that. They tailor everything to suit the needs of the customer. Highly recommend them.

Inept

I ordered a "Diablo Xtreme" system from Wired2Fire a number of years ago. I experienced severe problems with it from the very first day - the dreaded BSOD would appear after less than an hour of running a graphics-intensive game, and the error codes pointed to a faulty graphics card. I sent the computer back to Wired2Fire, they replaced one of the graphics cards in my SLI system, and the computer now appeared to work well. A few months passed, and I began experiencing the very same BSOD I received when I first got the system, so I had to send the computer back to Wired2Fire yet again. They claimed that a faulty CPU fan was to blame, they replaced it, and again the computer appeared to be working normally. Several months later, the same BSOD returned, and again it pointed to a faulty graphics card. At this point my Wired2Fire 1 year warranty had run out, so I had to look for my own solution.

A quick google search told me that the most common reason for graphics card failure during gaming was excessive heat, and the best way to check if your problems are indeed caused by improper cooling is to take off the side of the case and set up a desk fan to blow on the graphics card. I tried this out, and lo and behold my problems disappeared! I could now play demanding games and run graphics-intensive programs for as long as I desired without any issues. It now appeared quite obvious to me that Wired2Fire had completely skimped on cooling for my system. I checked my system temperatures and found that the CPU, hard drive, and graphics cards ran at dangerously high temperatures. Transplanting the components to a new computer case with better airflow, getting better case fans and a better CPU fan fixed these issues permanently.

For the ludicrous amount of money you spend on gaming systems, you expect every aspect of a build to be executed properly, and it was severely disappointing to find that Wired2Fire had completely messed up on something as important yet simple as cooling, especially since improper cooling significantly shortens the lifespan of a PC. This isn't something you'd expect from 'professional' system builders.

Judging by all these reviews, it seems that perhaps their build quality has improved over the years, but the amateurishly built PC I received from them destroyed my trust in the company permanently. If you're considering buying from Wired2Fire (or any gaming PC company) because you're daunted by the prospect of building your own PC (as I was when I ordered from W2F) please consider that building your own computer really is as easy as putting together Lego, and it's cheaper to boot.

Brilliant service and superb machine

Like another reviewer I had been building my own PC's but gradually lost out on galloping technology and not getting any younger decided to have one built.

After some research I went with Wired2Fire and what a change from some of the other companies that I spoke to! Nothing was too much trouble for the guys at Wired2Fire, they ensured that the machine would match what I wanted to do with it, and it was delivered when promised - almost to the minute!

The machine is now 2 years old but still going strong and apart from a graphics card upgrade to cope with increasing load on FSX it performs perfectly - well done Wired2Fire - keep up the good work and thank you.

Wired2fire

Fantastic build from genuine enthusiasts plus first class service.

I have previously always built my own PC's but with the time constraints of my own IT job I needed to find a PC pre-built that would meet the high standards I always set for myself. Wired2fire has exceeded my expectations and it is clear to see that the builders and testers love computers as much as we all do. I can not recommend them enough and I will for sure be a repeat customer.

Wired2Fire are awsome

I bought my rig from W2F last year and i must say i am extremely impressed.
i had been looking at an alienware gaming machine but they are far too expensive for what i wanted so i found W2F on google and thought i would give them a try too see what they could do for me.
W2F were extremely helpful and walked me through the steps to customize the rig and built me exactly what i wanted but i was still a bit nervous because i play top end games online all the time so i didnt know if the pc would stand up to whatever i threw at it.
when i got the pc i was stunned at how it looked and unpacking it was a little frustrating because i just wanted to plug it up and get it going to see what i had but it just goes to show how careful they are about their products reaching customers in one piece.
got the rig hooked up and was amazed how fast it booted up but my main concern is how good it was at playing games so i chucked everything i had at it and it handled everything perfectly with no issues whatsoever, even now a year later i have never had any issues with the rig and i am extremely pleased with it.

i have recommended W2F to all of my freinds and on facebook to make sure everybody knows how great they are and how professional their service is.

2 F's for W2F... Friendly and Fantastic

Being a first time customer and having bad experience of bespoke gaming machine suppliers I nervously placed my order, immediately received a response giving me details on build times, stock level (I assume in case any of the components I wanted were out of stock) the procedures for building, testing etc. I was impressed... but words can only go so far I thought (still dubious).

I waited anxiously for the next promised email to tell me my machine had entered testing and would soon be delivered, ever impatient I decided to call W2F, I mean really, it had been almost 24hours lol! The guy on the end of the phone was absolutley brilliant, putting me at ease, asking me questions about what I wanted to use the PC for, whether I had any other requests I'd not put on my order, suggesting future-proofing options for the games waiting to be released etc. I really appreciated the fact that although they were clearly busy from the background noise they made time for me and my questions and to put my mind at ease. When the PC arrived I unpacked it and was again, taken aback by what some would call the small things, the packaging was seemingly endless and demonstrated to me that great care had been taken to ensure that my system reached me in an immaculate fashion (which it did!). I eagerly hooked everything up gingerly pressed the power button waiting for what I thought would inevitably lead to disappointment... But there it was, booted, in seconds and it was ready to go, i installed my Steam folder (no mean feat when its a library like mine) almost expecting the system to fall over and give me BSODs, by now I shouldve known better. I've had the PC well over 6 months and I've had absolutely 0 issues, performance continues to be immense and the tower sits quietly under my desk, it hasnt and I can honestly say W2F continue not to, miss a beat.

Sublimely impressed, will and have recommended W2F to many friends. I know where my next systems are coming from thats for sure!

Thanks to Peter (AKA Fred) @ W2F for a welcome e-laugh today! (19/03/13)

Brilliant Systems, Great Service And Great Set Of Guys 5 Stars All Round

Ive bought two systems from Wired2fire One Being the very top end hellfire extreme which we up specced a little and has given a few years of absolute fault free use and inside is absolutely immaculate in the way its built.
We also bought a mid range gaming system for my brother which he loves.

We had an issue with our monitor Minimising and freezing things (WIRED2FIRE DID NOT SUPPLY THE MONITOR)
The guys down there were always on the phone and even took our system back to try and help us from their end as we don't really know what were doing. In the end they sorted everything for us, and it was all good will on their part.

Top blokes all round would certainly recommend.
We will be buying from them again.

Expensive, but worth every penny!

I bought a PC from Wired2Fire several years ago and have never had a complaint about it, even with it running Windows Vista!

Although I am in IT and have previously built my own computers, I had taken my finger off the pulse for gaming hardware. I asked my friend at the company if they could build me a PC, to which the reply was "How much do you want to spend?" For a fraction more than the amount I said (nice sells technique), I was given several options with the benefits for each one.

The great thing is that I know that if I had asked, they would have provide a good specification below the amount I stated. The problem was I was dazzled by the spec's given and gladly paid more than I had originally budgeted.

I have never needed their customer service, but I have been in the Wired2Fire office and overheard them talking to customers. They have been polite, patient, and helpful to the callers even if it is nothing to do with the product thy had sold, as they consider it their duty of care.

Awesome CPU building skills, good after sales customer service

Don't get me wrong, I am very happy with the custom PC they built for me, the overclocking is brilliant, the PC more than very fast and stable, the cable management is flawless, and all together the "beast" they created for the money I spent is a real bargain. Where I wasn't really happy though, is their customer service. I ordered the computer by e-mail cause I was abroad at the time, and when it was all about making the sale and taking my money, they were more than responsive (average 20 mails a day). When the deal was made, then I waited the 15 working days (so 3 weeks) and didn't get any update from them, so I e-mailed both their sales and support teams to enquire about my purchase. After 2 days, I sent another e-mail and flight back to the UK. Then next day, seeing no response from them in my mailbox, I decided to call them, and the lady I had on the phone was more than lost about my request, put me on hold, and then said they had a problem with the graphic card and were waiting for a replacement to be shipped. When I asked why my e-mails were ignored she replied "it must have been a glitch in the system" and then hanged up. A few days later, and after a few mails being ignored again, I called them back, just to be told there was no update to be given, hence why they didn't reply to my e-mails. Strangely enough, 2 days later they called me saying my PC was ready (it was a Friday) and will be sent on Monday. I notified the person on the phone that it would be fair to have it shipped for a next day delivery for free, even if it was on a Saturday, because of the way they ignored my mails and also because they were out of schedule, and he gladly accepted. Unfortunately, the next day, only the case arrived, but no keyboard, no mouse, no sound system and no freebies (I already had a 27" LED monitor at home). I then informed them by mail and they send them separately on normal delivery, so they arrived the next Wednesday. On that day, I finally had a complete and brilliant machine created to make any nowadays game work as fast as lightening on full graphics and I'm very happy with it. I simply wish they would put more consideration in their customers when the deal has been made and don't ignore their requests, would it be by mail or by phone, that to me is a lack of respect of your customers as a gaming PC is not a small purchase (I spent more than £1500 on it) and of course as a customer you want to be informed about how the built is going and when your machine will arrive at home, not to be let in a fog of jibber jabber. Also, the free games-key cards they provided were outdated by a year, but at this stage I didn't bother to call them back. If they were putting as much attention into their customers as they do in building up brilliant PCs, this company would be number one, but there's still improvement to be seen. I would recommend them.

Update: My graphic card went bust during the week end, I called Wired2fire yesterday and they advise me to pop in their office, which I did this morning. Was greeted by Toby, who was absolutely brilliant and very helpful, check the all computer, replaced the GPU without any question and made sure the computer was back up and running at his best. I have to say I was very impressed with the service, so a big thank you guys, especially Toby ;O)

Wired2fire

Good company, good computer build

I purchased a computer from Wired2Fire back in February 2011 and the computer has been running smoothly since shortly after it arrived, so I am quite satisfied :).

Take note, I did say shortly after as at first the computer was overheating and shutting down a lot. I gave Wired2Fire a few phone calls over the next day or so, and I spoke to 2 or 3 people who I assume were engineers. They were all very patient with me in that time period, and guided me through the process of taking out and refitting the CPU's fan cooler.

Still having problems, I sent the computer away to be repaired as it was still within warranty. The computer came back with a Corsair water cooler (by request) and the computer has been great since.

A year on, I noticed that even though I purchased a 2GB graphics card to go with the computer, it turns out it is only the 1GB version. I am sitting on the fence with this, on the one hand the wrong card shouldn't have been installed in the first place, but on the other I am kicking myself for not noticing it sooner as I now think it may be too late to replace it.

Despite this, Wired2Fire also offer additional services on top of your computer such as overclocking and cable management. The cable management is great as it keeps the inside of your computer tidy, and I imagine better airflow from the case fans. As for overclocking, I wasn't particularly keen on this anyway, and when my computer was overheating and shutting down I think that just reinforced my opinions on overclocking even further. But don't take this as a criticism towards Wired2Fire, as this is really in the nature of overclocking and it really is a risk that you take in doing so (in my opinion).

Bottom line: Wired2Fire offer good quality, good value computers and are willing to assist you with any problems if the need to do so arises. I would have few problems recommending them to a friend.

Professional service at competitive price

I used to buy my own PC components and put them together myself, but recently I just havent got around to it. So this year I took the plunge and replaced my 3 year old PC in full from wired2fire.

And I'm glad I did! Everything from the order to the delivery went smoothly and the performance of the machine is excellent - all at a price that justifies me not bothering to buy the components and build the thing myself.

Wired2fire

Excellent!

The team were very quick to answer any questions I had and the pc itself was built and tested very quick just a shame i ordered it just before christmas as i didnt get it till after new year, but that was my fault. It is an absolute MACHINE! it plays all the games i want it to play ie skyrim and cod perfectly doesnt even flinch!! does not get hot stays at around 37 degrees celsius, overall am very happy with the pc

Wired2fire

An Example To Other Companies

My fourth dedicated gaming system, and an excellent purchasing experience all round. My questions about various components and specs were answered promptly, and the system I finally decided on runs perfectly. Not one unexplained CTD, computer remains cool and stable when running the most intensive game programmes, and it was the best value.
This company is highly recommended.

Wired2Fire is the equation for honesty integrity proffesionalism matched by best price

In life you always need luck! I am an avid Sim pilot deperately seeking value for money custom system that could cope with FSX.My son had spent thousands on a system which he found many faults with at all levels!
What to do! Over the years I had fortune to own and manage a succesful group of companies which relied on electronics and custom software.I spoke to my old IT contractor whose genius allowed him to retire at an early age.
He said he had just seen small add and positive write up in pc Pro about Wired2Fire and they were located near to my home.I went down to see them at work.Years of experience in owning number of factories told me this could be the place.Organised clean with great enthusiasm team spirit and vast knowledge of their subject .
I placed my first order, that cost one fifth of my sons system ,faster with no water cooling. The honesty, integrity, proffesionalism and back up support sent me back to buy my second system. My son is now a customer and guess what the IT genius who found them for me in the first place is also now a customer !
Every day as I look at my four screens, gently touch the yoke, push on the rudder and set the autopilot and watch the smoothness of flight I truly thank my ground engineers known as wired2fire.

Elite systems built by professional and reliable people.

What can i say about Wired2Fire? Where to begin is the question.

I shall begin with some background first. I set out to build a custom pc, for simulations and extreme graphics performance. This was 6 years ago. The fabled Alienware pc was an inviting option, but after placing my order with them, my parts failed to materialise for a fortnight. I did some reviews and seeing the decline in customer satisfaction, i bailed ship and requested a refund.

Then i found a small company called Wired2Fire. They had some good reviews, as did plenty of other companies i found on the net. But what made me trust them from the start, was the professional and knowledgable team of people that greeted me on the phone. Not once but several times i rang them to ask questions and they knew their stuff inside out. Also, they answered the phone within five rings and were always polite and helpful.

SO i to took the plunge and invested my hard earned cash with them. And, i can proudly say, here Iam 6 years later smiling contently at the beast that purrs beside my desk. One thing that was important for me when i was purchasing the PC was future proofing it for as long as possible. I wanted to make sure i could upgrade as time went by and the system i wanted was faithly built as per my instructions. Over the years i upgraded the graphics cards, then I went SLI (twin graphics cards for increased rendering performance) and increased the amount of RAM.

One thing to note. They say actions speak louder than words. Unfortanetly, i cannot show you what this pc can do but i will tell you of an experience I had when i contacted Wired2fire about 2 years ago. I was using 8800gtx sli at the time and i wanted to upgrade to 280GTX SLI. I rang up Wired2Fire to ask if i could upgrade, or if there was anything i should be aware of. They could have just sold me the 280GTX cards, saying they wil work on my system, but they didnt. They pulled up my computer data from their records and advised that i would require different power connections for the 280GTX to work. There was also other concerns that might lead to potential issues and Wired2Fire advised that the 260GTX would be the next best thing to go for. The 280GTX was more expensive. They could have sold that to me and left me to get on with it. They had no obligation to assist me as my warranty had expired years before. So, i think its clear that Wired2Fire are not money grabbers, out to make a quick buck.

I can honestly say, that even after all this time, i can still ring them up and they will help me through thick and thin. They still answer that phone within five rings and the person on the end of the phone is not a call centre.

This review is more of a THANKYOU. I sincerely thank you Toby, Peter and the team for the standards you set out to reach and for maintaining excellant customer services and satisfication. Your computers are the BEST. You have won my respect and I cant tell you how difficult it is to find companies like yourselves in todays money driven market.

To anyone reading this review, considering whether to purchase through Wired2Fire or not. I can tell you this, no one can beat them. They have a morale standard of excellance that you dont find in many companies today. Most of them are out to get your money. These guys are out to show you what you missing out on. If you want to go elite, then give them a call and you wont look back, you wont regret it.

Wired2fire

A great computer with customer service to match

I found the ordering system on the website very clear, giving a number of options to either increase the computer spec or to reduce costs to my budget. I phoned the company for further advice and found they were really helpful and able to explain to me in a language that a novice to system builds (like me) could understand.

Post order the communication and delivery were excellent. I had ordered the system as a Christmas present and so the frequent emails detailing the build/delivery status were really useful. The final delivery was received within the advertised timeframe.

The reason I have given a 4 and not a 5 is that were minimal instructions received on delivery. The package included lots of parts, discs and manuals, which had all been pre-installed, but we were not aware of this at the time and so were confused by all these additional items. We had difficulty getting the PC to hook up to our monitor. We contacted the company and they were very responsive and helpful. In the end it was a simple matter of using a diferent HDMI port. Al emails were returned within 1 business day.

I would definitely recommend wired2fire and will use them for future PC and laptop purchases. You get a much better spec for your money compared to your Dells and Apples of this world and a more personalised service to boot.

Wired2fire

Great site, superb customer service

I bought a custom-spec machine for business use just before Christmas. Configuring and ordering was extremely easy.

When the goods arrived though, the case was damaged internally. I emailed them photos of this and they worked really hard to get a replacement to me at such a busy time of year.

The replacement has been perfect.

Although as with any PC business they are the victims of stock shortages/pricing, the staff were helpful, courteous and were very efficient, and this is a real quality these days...!

Well recommended.
