When I was building my business I did not have the funds to hire someone to build me a website. It was great to be able to build my own. It has definitely helped my business grow. I have recommended it to and helped my friends also build their own sites. Thanks Wix!
WIX took over 6 months to find a fix for a problem with navigating between pages on Safari browser. They finally resolved the problem only to create another potentially worse issue where only the header and footer of the homepage loads. They say they are trying to fix this but can't give an ETA for the fix. Will I have to wait another 6 months for a fix? The link to a YouTube video demonstrates the problem. It's embarrassing and losing me a lot of business. http://youtu.be/tm2U6ElDfbc
Its is known that the site will no work in safari but in cases i have also client telling me that they are using Firefox and couldn't load up the site. The navigation bar does not work, it is as good as having only one page website. The problem has been here for more than 6mths and it is still not solved. How can i use a website that does not load, slow and link that does not work? check out their forum yourselves, note that they say they have solved it and only some are still affecting. You go through it and see for yourselves if anyone has seen it fix? its a bullshit http://www.wix.com/support/forum/html5/error-messages-and-known-bugs/live-website-errors/261113-known-issue-menu-on-saf
Furthermore, after we have been making so much noise on their forum and asking fellow customers like us having difficultly to talk to their customer services for months. we brought this site address up for everyone to write a reviews. it were all negative and we all know there are so many problem with WIX. that suddenly a group of people came in here to write good reviews and five star rating? you judge for yourselves if they are from WIX… shameful… For those who gave a 5 stars, please give us your url for us to check your WIX website if is workable to prove it!
I had little experience in building a website but Wix guided me with its helpful tools to create a site that has provided everything I could have wanted. I like the choices of formats, pages, texts, photo uploads and many guidelines that helped me as I found my way. I have been entirely pleased with my site and plan to continue using Wix as a resource for the company that wanted the website. I would use Wix again.
I've recently started to completely re-design my site. I'd absolutely forgotten how easy wix makes it all happen. I cant imagine a business which wouldn't benefit from using this provider. Believe me I've tried them all and wix can take your ideas and turn then into a dynamic internet presence. Degg Newman [external reference]
Great experience for a non-technical person trying to build their first online presence. Templates were very easy to use, sufficient flexibility for customisation exists and designs are catchy and trendy. My single recommendation would be into support and customer service - I don't think the forum approach is suitable to many people and the absence of a phone line to call or email to use for issues may be putting some people off.
I have 4 sites with Wix and all of them have issues with Safari not loading and visitors having to either close their browsers or reload pages. They have known about this for a year and since December have really gotten heat from many of us. They have sent fake reviewers here to post positive posts, but I'm telling you, you need to beware. They are not helping us and fixing this issue and many of us are not getting compensated for not being able to sell our products online. They refuse to acknowledge us and this outstanding issue!
I have and do, on a regular basis, tell people about Wix. I used to spend sooooo much time trying to tack down my website guy. I'd email and wait....and wait..........and wait. Or, I'd spend a ridiculous amount of time trying to learn how to code whatever change I needed myself. NO MORE! I've built 3 sites now, with plans for more. I'm even considering building sites as a side business! Use Wix.
Once upon a time I built a nice website using Wix Flash editor and everything was great. I was impressed and loved the look. Then, for unannounced reasons by which everyone was baffled, WIX changed to a dopey "HTML5" editor which didn't offer any of the terrific Flash features of the old editor, but which put WIX in the same mediocre pile as other ho-hum free website editors. I built a new website with the "new" HTML5 editor for a different project but will not stay with it or WIX. Worst, however, WIX's response to its numerous criticisms has been not to correct the issue and remove the HTML 5 editor and revert to the Flash editor which had set it ahead of the pack, but instead has loaded up their review site with obvious staff-generated pro-WIX reviews -- a ploy often used by companies facing a barrage of customer criticisms, but a transparent and insulting ploy. Any company so disinterested in its customer's honest feedback as to create a false positive image is not a company which deserves my business nor my customer loyalty. And judging by the negative comments here, (once you get past the phoney positive ones,) I am clearly not alone. Live and learn Wix. Live and learn.
I've created tons of websites using wix.com. It's fast, easy, and I can customize it with my own designs or if needed the templates they offer are really professional and easy to use. I recommend it to anyone wanting to create a website or start an online e-commerce business.
I recommend Wix to anyone who is looking to either build a website or switch from their current website builder. It's simple enough for beginners to use and has some advanced features for those familiar with website design. The templates are wonderful and as a result, our website looks professionally done.
I've been with Wix for several years now - probably since the beginning and I cannot tell you how wonderful it is to see this company grow so much and offer a variety of services that they keep adding constantly.
I myself am a Web Designer and the one thing that I love about wix is that I can make as many changes as I want on the fly, it is so fast and easy that I even create several websites for clients...
Thanks for tipping me off about Wix, had a look at the site and thought I'd take the plunge and have a go. As you know I have created sites using Word Press, but found it restrictive and too HTML code base. This site is superb makes everything simple, and within a couple of hours I had perfect site ready to launch to the world wide web.
Great way to set up your own website. While there is a learning curve once you get how things work you'll be up and running in no time. Yes, there are limitations that are to be expected but, these limitations are nothing to worry about. One major drawback I have with Wix is the limited options available as far as setting up your online store with a merchant account company. The current options include PayPal and bunch of other not too heard of other merchant account companies. Since my business is small PayPal wanted to "hold" 50% of all of my sales for what they called "protection", the 50% was continually rolled over each month with no time limit. Who can afford to have 50% of all sales withheld? I decided to work with Square Up Merchant, their 2.9% fee is pretty much the standard but unlike other merchant account companies Square automatically deposits sales the next day into my bank account (and they don't withhold funds for "protection"). It's not convenient to have be operating two sites (Wix and Square) but the bottom line is whats important, I have my sales directly deposited into my back account next day without any hassles or problems. Overall, I think Wix is pretty good for what you pay for. The only thing I wish Wix would do is make available other merchant account companies.
Wix has templates for just about any business or idea that you can imagine. And each template looks professional and current. What I also like about Wix is its ease of use. I am not tech savvy by any means and I am able create and manipulate content exactly as I imagine it. Whenever any of my friends or acquaintances tell me they are considering making a website, I suggest Wix.
Wix has thought of everything. Now anyone can have a great looking website for a fraction of the cost of having a designer do it. If you're a small business or an individual, do yourself a favor, save a lot of money and do it yourself with Wix. They're the best.
I've created a couple websites now with Wix, as an ex-customer of [external reference]. I found that working with HTML was much easier than I thought, and putting together a full e-commerce site made me feel like an expert even though I was merely a beginner. It was also very easy to point my prior-owned domain name to the site. I tell all my friends about Wix and I often offer to help them make a site when they tell me they are technologically challenged, then once they get up and running, they're like "Oh I got this, step aside". I do have some small issues with lagging and some little glitches that annoy me occasionally, but I think you're gonna get that with any software program, so overall I give it 5 stars!
