DO NOT DO IT

this is one of the worst companies you could possibly be a part of...

this used to be select-calls have a read up on them here...

these guys used to lock you into a 5 year ROLLING contract and it sounds like they have got no better DO NOT GO WITH THEM

Terrible Company. Expensive and apparently stuck in a contract with hundreds to release

Rang today after finding the package i am on is costing more than other companies. Apparently after being with them years still in a contract. So i asked how much to cancel. They wanted over £300. Cannot wait to leave them. fine when theyre ripping the money from you but if you want to go its lose lose all the way. I certainly will not be steering companies that i manage towards them.

Superb

Only had one fault, but it lasted two weeks. My designated Indian technician was superb, did what he promised, rang when he said and generally harassed BT Open Reach until they fixed the problem. Keep these kind of guys , they mark you out from the crowd. The credit for being off line was alsovery much appreciated.

Overall I've been very happy with the service although it's lost some of the personal touch with the introduction of more automated telephone responses. Probably inevitable given your expanding business. You might like to become a world leader by offering a telephone menu option that removes the music and replaces it with an occasional message at intervals to say you're still listening.

Extortion of £299 penalty & mis-selling of contract. Stay well clear of XLN

As a long term customer of XLN for many years we had a call out of the blue about nine months ago advising that we would save money by taking up a package that they were offering. They called us. They advised. They express that there is no tie in should we want to leave. Nine months in, we aren't saving money, want to leave having found much better deal & we find that there is a £299 penalty for leaving which runs fully to the end of the contract. Penalty doesn't even diminish as the end date looms. (Have heard others express that contract automatically renews, penalties & all!!!) They don't/can't even justify penalty amount!
Very very disappointed with this extortion & mis-selling. Stay well away from XLN. Can only assume that they are tight for cash & are going down.

one of the better experiences i've had

In the many years ive had a phone line i have had to deal with many different telecomunication companies and have had an list longer than my arm of various things that have gone wrong from phones lines being taken out by trees to being charged nearly a years wages on one bill but since i joined XLN for my business line not one thing has gone wrong it has worked perfectly since day one and long may it continue

Fine when you havent got a problem but diabolical when you do

been with xln for about 8 years & not had any real problems....BUT the first problem i had has exposed them for what they really are. An absolutely unprofessional company that doesnt care about iots customers.DO NOT go with xln

OK while you stay RUBBISH when you want to leave

Would not go back to XLN again ever !!!! Real pain getting to change supplier from them and charge ridiculous amounts for everything i.e. line changed to BT beginning of FEB but XLN charge to the end of FEB even though you are now paying BT for the line etc etc AVIOD .

Very slow- how long does it take to get broadband these days!!!!!!

Having waited 2 weeks my broadband is still not working today. I'm getting fed up of McDonalds!!!!

BT could learn a thing or 2 from you!!!

I'm still having constant problems with BT despite the fact that you have been providing our Broadband and Telephone service since October 2013. BT are still attempting to bill us and I have been on the phone for hours to them in total. What a breath of fresh air you and your staff are. After BT told me that you couldn't possibly be providing us with your service I spoke to your colleague Terri-Ann Gallimore and she confirmed that you are providing us with the services and also confirmed on an email to me. Your service is great and if I have any problems I can easily call and it's swiftly rectified. Keep up the good work! Please pass your customer training manual onto BT as they are absolutely useless!!! Thanks :)

absolutely appalling

Don't listen to the hype. just tested my download speed its it is a whopping 0.17mbps. ha this problem for weeks and now they want me to wait another week to migrate to another (better?) platform and then wait another week to sort out any potential wifi problems as they just dot know whether there will be any improvement in the service after migration. Better to cancel and get another provider who can actually help you'd think but that will cost me 298 hard earned pounds apparently. phone support expensive and ineffective and guess what the manager is not there or the department is closed. luckily the sales team are available, oh but they can't help me.

Very good. I wanted to recover a password to my account. After a callback the consutant was very kind and helpfull. He really wanted to solve my problem! And it was solved. Thank you "XLN Customer Srevice"! It is difficult nowadays to speak to someone who is really trying to understand your problem and try to solve it!

it's all the same

Found this company on google and did some research as id never heard of them. there was a lot of people complaining about problems so i looked else where. but all the other providers are the same, all have aweful reviews on trustpilot, so many people complaining of service issues. as long as nothing goes wrong then my phone line and broadband is going to be exactly the same whatever company i pay to use it. so threw cation to the wind and went with these guys as they were cheapest.

Avoid or regret!

Read the contract carefully! XLN charge £299+vat to leave them!!

You must migrate away from them exactly 42 days before the end of a contract or it will renew for another 2 years with the same condition - thus it is virtually impossible in practice for any company with 11+ employees to not pay the fee. Ofcom forbid such charges to be levied on companies with 10 or fewer employees, but read the other reviews here...

It is not necessary to charge a £299+vat leaving fee unless you migrate away on one particular date once every two years - other companies make no charge. You get a small amount off line rental but pay a much bigger amount at the end. You see their business model now?

The sign-up is done over the phone. The sales agent did not tell me that their contract has these terms. The first I saw that is when the contact arrived, together with the claim at the top that you have "Agreed by telephone".

Neither did they tell me that I could cancel without any penalty before the switchover occurs. Ofcom rules ("general condition 24") insist they tell me and they have breached their license by not doing so -- a report to Ofcom is in the works.

Note that you can ask the losing provider (probably BT) to cancel a transfer. You should do this even if XLN have confirmed the cancellation with you, just to be sure.

We've signed up with [external reference] instead. They charge a bit more per month but have no silly contract terms and have a long positive reputation.
