I received a message telling me that a parcel of mine would be delivered today and containing a reference number. I went onto their website to track my parcel but it didn't provide me with any details. I then called their customer service line and was told the parcel can be delivered a time up until 9pm. I explained that my mother has been admitted to hospital with kidney failure so I would appreciate it if they can give an indication of delivery time. They said they can't. They also said that the drivers are not provided with mobiles so would have to use their own phone if they were to let me know when they'd deliver. If I can't receive the parcel today, they'll try again tomorrow and Friday but again they can't give me an indication of the time, it could be anytime up until 9pm. I can't wait around for them for a whole day. Do they not realise we hpave other things to do - in. My case go to the hospital. My parcel is important so I can't allow them to leave it outside. Their service is terrible. I'm so frustrated with them. DPD in the other hand are also delivepring to me today. They have text me to say they'll be with me between 12.30 and 1.30pm. I have never been disappointed with DPD. How can they provide such a great service and Yodel not be able to match this quality? Never use them!
Tracking number says courier have tried to deliver 3 times and left cards on all occasions. The truth is they have never tried to deliver and of course no cards were left, got a lot of other parcels delivered with other courier companies without any problems. Now i need to collect the parcel from depot, which is very frustrating considering it has been paid to be delivered as next day. Avoid at any cost, if you don`t want to waste your money, time and health !
Got message in the morning that i will get my item at 9pm!so stay at home before 5hours and wait!i paid extra money to get it eary but didnt!message came around 7pm instead of 9pm and said that i missed the delivery and left a card to get it another time!No one come no card left!try to call the number but no answer!well done yodel that service is rabbish!never again!
After paying a little more for my package to be delivered the next day (Friday 15/11/2013) i was emailed to say it would be delivered on between 9am-9pm(Saturday 16/11/2013). I work at a football club which has security on the entrance gate 24/7 as it gets deliveries every day. It failed to show yesterday however said it was delivered at 15:23pm, i was at work all day until 9pm and knocked on two house which are next to the training ground as the email said it had delivered to them.
Im greatly concerned with Yodel as a company after reading many negative reviews and not looking forward to following up where my package is this week. I am also considering speak to my friend who works for Watch Dog as the amount of negatives i have seen is a huge concern
This is the second time I have felt the need to voice my opinion about Yodel and its appalling service. I ordered something online and Yodel tried to deliver it when I was at work and left a card. The card had a telephone number for the local courier that Yodel had farmed it out to. I tried ringing it but only ever got a message telling me a text message would be sent to the phone to let it know I was trying to ring. I sent a text message to the number explaining that I would not be home until after 6:30pm. Still no delivery. Checking it on the Yodel tracking system I was surprised to see that the driver had attempted delivery a few more times and 'left a card'. I don't actually believe it. No card was left except the when the initial unsuccessful delivery was made. I think that they don't bother trying again. I rang Yodel to find out what I could do. Well, they can't do anything because the time of delivery is something that is arranged by the sender. They can't do anything but give me the phone number of the local company (the same useless mobile number). Oh, you can arrange to collect from Enfield. Oh, happy days, a 44 mile round trip - I don't think so.
This is the second time I have had this problem with Yodel. It's frustrating because they just don't give a damn. I have now cancelled the purchase because this experience is so frustrating and the customer service is so bad that I would rather not have the goods just so I can have an end to this nonsense.

I wish I had checked if I had known it was Yodel I would not have bothered, phone allegedly delivered 5th November first words from Yodel rep its took you this long to call, here we go as per usual with Yodel lets find a way to blame the customer, are you sure the address is correct, the site has autofill so yes the address is right, I am the receptionist here and there is someone here from 6.00am until 8.00pm there is no way that delivery was missed I actually have a pavlovian response when I see Yodel as the amount of hassle you have to deal with to get anything delivered makes me feel sick.
I ordered goods from very.co.uk which should have been delivered by Yodel on Monday. End of the day came and no delivery. There tracking system said it had been loaded on the van at around 8:00am and back off the van at 8:00pm. Why then did it not get to me. Tuesday morning I called and they told me it had been loaded on the van again at 8:30am and would be with me that day. 9:00pm came and still no parcel....no further updates on the tracking system. I called them on Wednesday to be told that it was in the distribution centre but had never gone out for delivery. I asked why and they said they were sorry but they could not see a reason why it had not been delivered. I was assured it would arrive on Thursday. I wasn't at all surprised when it got to Thursday evening and still no package. So I called again and they suggested I call the driver on their mobile. I asked why I should spend any more of my money making calls to fix their problem. I was told that was the only answer or I should just wait. Friday morning I went on live chat and this time gave my mobile number and the operator assured me I would receive my package and that the courier would phone me to confirm the delivery time. I have sat at home all day. It is now nearly 5pm and not only is my package not here but I have not received a call from anyone.
To make matters worse I have contacted very.co.uk to cancel the order and get a refund and they tell me that as this is a 'missing' item they will have to do an investigation which will take up to 21 days and until that is done they cannot send a replacement or refund my order. Thanks Yodel. This is not the first time you have messed up on my deliveries. I will make sure it is the last. I will most certainly not be using you or any company that uses your services again.
*I should add I have just been advised that Yodel's tracking system is broken and they cannot help to locate my package until it is fixed. This is getting comical!
Horrendous awful useless I cannot think of more horrible words to describe the lack of service. They claim to have delivered my rather pricey order to neighbours who don't exist. The best part is that they didn't even leave a delivery card through the door so don't know who where where they delivered my order. I went to embarrassingly knocked all my neighbours doors (including those I'm not on speaking terms with) and nothing was found. Phoned them several times and instead of tracking down their driver they suggested I get back to the seller and they even hung up on me on one occasion. I can't even track down number of the local depot which "delivered" my order. Horrendous almost criminal service. Do not use at ALL costs!!!!!!
TOTALLY RUBBISH SERVICE
Their delivery driver falsely claims to have left a calling card but no one was in. I have been waiting for him all day infact I am looking out of the window right now. They emailed at 8am saying the delivery was due today. It is now 6:45pm and their website now states that no one was in so calling card left.
The Yodel website also states only 1 more redelivery attempt left. This is unacceptable as he never even attempted to delivery in the first place! I really am not happy - AT ALL.
I have waited in all day, and I certainly won't be tomorrow, he can try and deliver if he wishes. If i'm not in tough.. that'll be the first ACTUAL attempt, despite what you website states. He can then try and deliver a SECOND time - lets see how he likes the run around.
I guess I'll get the typical reply... leave your fell address and we'll follow this up. Well ive already emailed firstname.lastname@example.org - what I want a public confirmation of here is that the DRIVER will be spoken to about this by management????????
I send 3 separate parcels to 3 separate customers on the 23rd September, all high value items. All parcels were clearly marked with each customer address. One customer got 2 of the parcels, another customer got the incorrect parcel and one customer got nothing at all. I contacted Yodel who promised they would sort it out. As of today, 1st October, nothing has been done! My customers have all given my business negative feedback and I have had to refund all postage costs for the inconvenience. Rightly so my customers are fuming as I can't even tell them when their parcels will be delivered as Yodel don't know where they are. This has been a costly first experience for me and I would never ever use this company again. Please please research carefully before embarking on any business with Yodel. I will keep my post updated on what happens with my packages.
The parcel was never delivered. No card was posted through my letter box stating the parcel was delivered to neighbours house. Without the card I dont have the tracking no, therefore unable to check the parcel on line. Yodel dont even have a contact phone number on their website. The parcel was not even delivered to my neighbours house and dont know where it is. I been waiting for over a week. What a con of a company and I cant believe Amazon use them. They need to stick with Royal Mail. At least you have a depot to collect your parcels from.
I ordered some items from Firetrap via their online store during a Friends and Family sale they were having, and selected Expedited Delivery (1-2 working days) as a delivery option. The next working day morning I received an email from Firetrap informing me that my parcel had been despatched, and I assumed I'd be receiving it the following day.
A couple of days later still nothing had turned up, and when I tried to track it via Yodel's website I got an error message for my item code. Eventually, after speaking with Firetrap customer services a couple of times, I discovered that Yodel had lost my parcel and I would be receiving a refund on my order. They just lost it.
So I've missed out on the items, missed out on the sale price, and I will definitely be avoiding online vendors who use Yodel in future. This close to Christmas, it's just not worth the risk that my gift orders might not turn up. I read from a previous poster that this is the rebranded version of DHL (who've been bought out by someone else), which explains why so many online stores now seem to be using them as there's not really an alternative with the same capacity. Still, I for one will be looking elsewhere where possible.
Damn, did not look at who The Book People used for delivery and it was this mickey mouse outfit again. Fortunately the books actually turned up at my work address this time but the box looked like it had been kicked, sat on, torn and been in the post for years! Sending a photo to supplier but online companies should start listening to customers and stop using this awful company for deliveries. I avoid ordering and cancel if I generally find out they use YODEL.
Ordered some items beginning of last week from MCFC dispatched the same day after paying £9 for 24 hour delivery, tracking number doesn't work, webpage doesnt work, cant even put a complaint in about them as their web page constantly kicks you off at the point of sending your message (convinient or what?) tried calling them today to ask where my item was, ended up on hold to a premium rate number for 15min until i eventually lost the will to live and hung up. How am i supposed to find my items if you cant be contacted in ANY WAY? WORST DELIVERY COMPANY IN HISTORY!!! dont use YODEL they will lose your stuff, youd be faster walking and collecting it from anywhere in the UK, fact. Close this sham of a business down.
Such a terrible company, completely devoid of any customer service - and they still haven't delivered my parcel after 7 days - they say they're 'unable to locate the address' - ever heard of a map? Google maps? It's a London street!! My advice would be, never ever use this company - unfortunately, this wasn't my choice, PC World uses them to deliver. Can't say bad enough things about this company. 1 star is certainly too high.
I stayed in all day waiting for a parcel and they didn't even bother knocking, just put card through door. The car was in the drive that they walked up so if the driver had had any common sense they should have thought I was home. Had to collect from the depot, total and utter inconvenience.
DONT USE Next Flowers they use HOme delivery network other wise known as yodel !!! appauling ordered flowers on tuesday to be delivered on friday as of today saturday still no flowers, have chased next and chased yodel and no one knows what self employed courier has the flowers and i am so disgusted witht he service as this was for my sister's 50th bday and you would think to order tuesay to deliver friday would give them enough time to plan, I feel very very let down and dont think i can bring myself to order flowers again from next !!! so be warned !!!! think one of the couriers has some nice roses, bottle of wine and chocolates and is having the last laugh shame for next !!

I booked a date so that I could be home to sign for my delivery but instead they delivered it the day before when I wasn't home and so couldn't sign for it!! Basically, as Very.co.uk uses them to deliver there orders they are messing Very.co.uk's customers about.
But after having pasted my review and contacting Very.co.uk they came back today to re-deliver the package and so made good in the end.

I have used this parcel carrier under its new name and its previous names (Securicor and DHL). In the 25 yrs plus I’ve used them I have spent some 60 million pounds with them so think I know the business and industry very well!
Since Home Delivery Network bought the DHL domestic business, re branding it YODEL they have brought in many changes. These changes and reorganising of the business have been carried out by spread sheet management! Management who have little or no operational skills in this Industry. On the whole or for apox 95% of the business YODEL will do a good job, delivering on time. However if your parcel is in the 5% not delivered or not collected you are in the hands of over worked, under paid, poorly trained and managed members of staff! The reward structure in YODEL coupled with low morale at the lower level is poor and doesn't attract good people, which is clear in certain areas of the service centre network. This coupled with poor leadership from above leads to the poor service some people receive. However a point to be made in all of this is the fact that the market has changed beyond all recognition. There is a new breed of customer who are more demanding of the service because of the promises they see on sites like Amazon and eBay! Business to Business is the traditional parcel industry business and Business to consumer has been a smaller but growing part of this business. However the massive growth in recent times of Business to consumer has out grown the capacity in the Parcel Industry! Home delivery is not new to the market but the demands of the home delivery customer and the marketing of the likes of Amazon and eBay have made home delivery unsustainable in its current format. So YODEL while becoming the biggest carrier and a carrier who sell home delivery services have been caught by their own success. This coupled with the need to take cost out of their business and (in my opinion) poor management have left us blogs and reviews that slat YODEL service. My warning to those who send in reviews is that if YODEL were to pull out or reduce its capacity on home delivery, the parcel Industry in this country would suffer greatly and YOU the eBay/Amazon or Online buyer will have to pay vastly more for the convenience of ordering online and ordering up till 9 and 10pm for next day delivery will become a thing of the past! In conclusion, YODEL are in certain areas giving poor service and even poorer customer service because they have cut too much and lost to many good managers and drivers. Over to you Jonathon Smith CEO of YODEL to come up with and come out with an answer to the issues in YODEL and the wider issues of customer perception in the Industry.
