After looking around for some vehicle strobes, I kept coming back to the EVS website with an excellent range of products at competitive prices. There are plenty of cheaper products to be found on the web, but none of them inspired confidence in terms of the quality, performance or back-up that EVS promised.
I placed an order, then got a phone call the next morning to let me know about a stock shortage.
Rather than just leaving me in the lurch, the guys there talked me through a couple of alternatives and did me a special deal on a better product to fulfil my order.
So far, excellent customer service, knowledgeable staff and good prices. Hopefully I'll never need to worry about their warranty support, but I have no reason to think it would be any different.
It shouldn't be difficult to buy stuff online, but time and time again I find myself getting frustrated by companies who list stuff they don't have in stock, or who don't keep you informed about the status of your order. What Merlin do isn't rocket science, it's basic retail management, but they do it very well.
They are well priced, keep you informed about your order status and deliver on their promises. Well done for doing it right.. there are plenty of companies who don't.
A really useful site, parts are well priced and you can have a bit more confidence than just buying from someone random on eBay.
The quality of the parts is as described, making them a great way to get bike parts for decent prices.
I'll be back for more bits soon !
Placed an order on a Monday for items which were showing in stock (through their base layer site), and was given a delivery time of 2-3 days.
I'd heard nothing by the following Tuesday (8 days later) so sent them an email.. eventually heard back telling me that they had no stock and the item was now discontinued.
How long would they have kept my money if I hadn't asked ?!?
Never again... Wish I'd seen the trustpilot reviews before I wasted my time.
I needed a few tyres and other bits for my mountain bike, and searching around the web, came across Ribble cycles.
The prices were competitive, and most importantly they had the range of products available and in stock that I wanted.
Delivery was well priced, with a free service available and only a small cost for a next-day service.
I ended up spending much more than I intended (curse you, impulse-buying), but I do have a nice big box of bits to play with.
Thanks Ribble... I'll be back.
I wanted a couple of new MTB helmets, and after being let down by another supplier decided to give Farnham a go.
Phoned them up, and was told that they didn't have them in stock, but could get them and assured me they would be with me by the weekend.
True to their word, the delivery arrived today.
Unlike the previous company I tried, Farnham were honest about their stock levels and did what they said they would. That's good enough for me !
My first order from JE James... I ordered a couple of Met helmets from the site... prices looked good, delivery was reasonable and they claimed to have stock.
I eventually got an email saying that only one of the helmets was in stock and that they might be able to get another one from the supplier. I don't really feel like waiting for an indeterminate amount of time to find out whether I can or can't have my new helmet. Not very happy... I'll find them elsewhere I'm afraid
Late last year I started using CRC for bike bits... and sadly, both orders had issues... late, bits wrong and worst of all a COMPLETE lack of communication from customer services.
I needed some pedals for an event last weekend... CRC had them in stock so I bit the bullet, paid for a next-day service and placed my order to arrive on Friday.
It's now Monday and still no goods. Once again, the worst thing is that my messages to customer services have ONCE AGAIN not been even acknowledged (unless you count the automated reply)
I can't believe I was daft enough to try CRC again... That's 3 for 3 orders cocked-up, and yet another event marred by their poor service.
I won't be so stupid next time :-(
