Bunch of amateur telemarketing salespeople

These are the people who put all the "fitted blind" adverts in the cheap-end-of-the market magazines. Beware, give your phone number to a conservatory or window company and they'll sell it on to this bunch who will then cold-call you in the evening.
Judging by the amount of advertising and telesales they do, the products they sell must have a mark up of 50+%...You pay for their dodgy marketing strategy.

Sell on your number to cold-callers

Got a quote from Britelite windows, gave them our details. Asked explicitly for reassurance that they wouldn't pass on our phone number. They gave us that assurance. A few weeks later, got cold-called in the evening by Thomas Sanderson (the blind company), trying to sell us their blinds. They stated that they had got our number from Britelite windows who had sold them our number. I will be contacting Britelite to express our disappointment and needless to say will not be using them for our work.

Ignore customer reviews on their site

The website invites customers to review their products. The reviews are then submitted for "moderation". Surprise, surprise, give a bad review and it is never published. I have submitted a number of poor reviews (as have others I know of , judging from forums). This is obviously deceitful and I would expect better from such a company.

They use YODEL to deliver-say no more!!

Waited in all day for a guaranteed next day delivery (7am-9pm) and the idiot from Yodel.co.uk didn't bother delivering despite having my goods on his van. No aplogy, no explanation, nothing - just a premium 0870 number to phone!!! Pathetic. You pay peanuts, you know what you get!

Pathetic

Put in a big order with another bunch of muppets (Carphone warehouse) for guaranteed next day delivery. Despite my order being on their van all day, they didn't deliver it. No excuse, no apology. Stayed in from 7am til 9pm as instructed so very p*ssed off.

Hovells

Appalling - Avoid at all costs!

Like other reviewers, I found their customer service to be appalling. After taking my money immediately for an item advertised as being in stock, it arrived a month later. That's when the fun really started - it was obviously damaged, furthermore the damage revealed that the item was veneered MDF (advertised as solid oak). I contacted Hovells and their courier within 10 minutes. 2 days later I received a standard reply stating that I must take photos to send to them, after which they would consider my claim. This is in obvious contravention of their legal obligations to provide a full and expedient refund. The matter remains unresolved; I intend to make a claim via my credit card and involve trading standards.

My advice - avoid www.hovells.co.uk at all costs.

We try to make it as readable as possible on our website that payment is taken on point of ordering and that we do not accept deposits or part payments.

Dreadful customer service, poor quality goods

Company supplied me with cushions that they stated measured 40cmx40cm. When they arrived they only measured 34cmx34cm. I sent them back at my own expense, they then refused to refund postage stating that the cushions are 40cm square or 40x40cm and that this measurement refers to a diagonal from corner to corner!!! This is obviously nonsense and a lie, why describe them as 40x40??
When I phoned them they claimed that the cushions are only 40cmx40cm when unfilled.
The quality of the goods was very poor as well. The customer service absolutley disgusting.
