Given a 5 hour window for a large purchase. They did not deliver. Getting my money back was like drawing blood from a stone
When it was near to the end of the allocated time slot I tried phoning the branch using the number on their invoice, but it was a fax line. Tried phoning the delivery branch, 15 minutes of holding on got me nowhere other than a depleted mobile account.
No service at all
They failed to provide the serice bought. They were given written notice that was so and given time to provide it or I would consider the contract terminated.
They ignore this as they did all letters whether sent by recorderded and even registered delivery.
They passed it to debt collectors who gave up when they saw the file. Unbelievably a further 2 debt collectors got involved they too gave up on seeing the file - as there was clarly no debt as all bill were paid up to the time of the contract being terminated.
Totally hopeless to deal with, have moved the account
I buy goods online - Have recently had 2 occasions when failed deliveries were due to "no one in" and "card left" Lies. On both occasions I was in stting in my office ALL day overlooking the drive and front door. No attempt at delivery and no card.
A 3 rd delivery - a day late, One item from 3 was missing ( SOme £200 value for that item)
You CANNOT speak to them. The enquiry line on delivery requires you to enter the delivery ref i,e, the card left - but usually there is no card. A fourth delivery , the driver brought be goods for a Mr K .. in Sevenoaks - I live on the Isle of Sheppey some 50 miles away.
I could go on - suffice to say, my trade supplies are now crossed of list if they use City Link
Having seen Worktop Express vehicles in the area, and a friendly trader using the service, decided to use it.
Web Site - very clear, prices totally transparrent
Rices - there are cheaper but having received the goods have no regret at spending marginally more.The quality of the goods appears far superior to those on show at Homebase, Wickes, Band Q etc and at a lower price !!
Delivery - Excellent service totally to time and on the day I requested.
No question as to the 5 star rating
The sales offer said delivery 5-7 working days. I took the trouble of telephoning to ensure stock was available and that the delivery dates could be met. I had a prompt return telephone call to confirm that was the case.
After the 7 WORKING days were up I telephoned to find they did not even have the goods to despatch , and delivery could be the following Tuesday or Thursday.
I told them it HAD to be the Tuesday. That was met
On delivery, the delivery people insisted the product had to be unwrapped . I refused. My onward customer would not want a product not in its original wrapping and the van did not have a shrink wrap machine on board.
It got farcical with them making me speak to their office who also somehow did not understand the meaning of "I am not unpacking it"
There was absolutely no need to as any obvious problem would be visible under the transparent packing, and while the packing was damaged, holed actually in the base, no doubt due to careless internal trucking,
They they had the supplier call me who rang off before I could answer the phone, I tried their number 3 times but without answer.
Not a good buying experience and I would not deal with them, I would rather pay a higher price and get better service.
I was , frankly, a typical uncaring on-line service example.
