Groupon voucher : mattress ordered

I note there are a few of you whom have used Groupon vouchers to order mattresses from matching bedrooms. I was in a similar situation until this morning. I ordered the mattress via their website using the voucher and did not receive confirmation email of delivery date . Like others I have spent the last two months chasing them via email and had extreme difficulty contacting them via phone which they did not pick up. I ordered mattress back in Oct 2011. I decided yesterday enough was enough and decided to take legal action against them. I phoned trading standards who gave me the number of their consumer dept and he explained all I needed to do was to write a letter and send this via recorded delivery and state that under the distance selling act 2000 it states that delivery must take place within 30 days. As a result they were in breach and the contract now is null, void and terminated. I asked for a full refund including costs to me made within 30 days. I decided to email a copy of this to both Groupon and Matching bedrooms. Originals were posted by recorded delivery yesterday. Surprisingly, This morning my mattress turned up at 8.45 am. however I am yet to check the item for it's quality and whether it is fit for it's purpose . Claiming it's a mattress worth in region of £500 which I paid £159. So folks I will let you know what the outcome is otherwise they will be hearing from me again !! Just shows, it pays to send companies legal letters as a wake call . Hope this is of some help for those still waiting on goods to be delivered. I won't be using them anymore as company are a complete sham with no customer service!
