**Update 13 Feb 12**
Finally received my refund today after several phone calls & being 'promised' the money would be refunded quickly only for them to send me 2 letters asking if i would prefer a replacement product, a credit note or a refund. How can a retailer do this?
I am not finished with this as i am taking this as far as i practically can via trading standards & watchdog, they have completely broken the 'sale of goods act'.
I recently bought a DVR PCI card for my pc to run cameras for security, fine this worked perfectly but trying to access them remotely with the bundled software was nothing short of impossible! The remote viewing was the reason behind the purchase.
Over 2 days were spent by myself and a IT expert trying to make it work. No NAT or software firewalls all ports open even between 2 PC's on the same desk, nothing.
I returned the product for a refund stating in precise detail what i had done, how we tried to resolve the problem only for a really arrogant cheeky Maplin manager whom tried & succeeded in talking to me like a idiot in front of a very busy shop. TBH i wanted to pull him over the counter i was that angry. You don't talk to customers like that... even if they are wrong [i wasn't].
Still awaiting a refund, like others i shopped at Maplins for years but never again.

After the arrogant attitude i felt i had to try and warn others of the shoddy service.
Simply disgraceful at best. :(
