Disgraceful customer service

Having ordered a bike for our grandson's birthday 3 months in advance it failed to appear despite us ringing the day before collection and on the day of collection and being told it was ready.
Staff unhelpful and couldn't care less. Told to choose another one but there wasn't any others the same colour we'd ordered, which grandson specifically asked for.
If you want a kids bike DO NOT bother going to Halfords. Complained to Halfords customer services who paid lip service and nothing else.
No offer to choose another one of a higher price or offered anything in the way of compensation (maybe a helmet or even a bell !!!)
